Estevan pulled the paper gently from her grasp, then held up the note so we could both read it.
The message was scrawled with a shaky, hurried hand on a scrap of yellowed newspaper, and the letters were oddly rough, as though scratched with a blunt tip instead of a regular pencil.
Three, barely-legible words.
Yet I had a feeling our city would never be the same again.
It’s a curse.
