So he rushed on, looking up into Malcolm’s stunned face and holding the other man’s hand in his. He felt faintly ridiculous, out of his element, sure that he was making an idiot of himself, and yet, also completely determined to see this through now that he had started it.
“Malcolm Hart,” Kyle said, and then he fumbled the box open with his free hand, the one now tangled up around Malcolm’s. In retrospect, he should have probably opened the box before he took Malcolm’s hand, but hey, this was his first time proposing. He was probably not going to be perfect.
“Oh my God,” Malcolm whispered, his emerald green eyes flickering back and forth between Kyle’s face and the black velvet box that he held in his hands, the glimmer of a gold ring inside of it.
“Will you marry me?”
Malcolm
At first, Malcolm had been sure that Kyle was just turned on. It wasn’t so rare for one or the other of them to pounce the other at random intervals, pretty much whenever they were alone together so that wouldn’t be out of the ordinary at all.
The weirdness had started a few seconds after, though, when Malcolm got a chance to look at Kyle, to see his brilliant eyes and the hectic flush high up on his cheeks. Even then, it still took Malcolm awhile to figure out what Kyle was getting at.
It wasn’t like he hadn’t thought about marriage, because he had. He had thought about it a lot since Kyle had come into his life, but honestly, he had thought it was too soon. That Kyle would get scared if he asked too early. So he had waited. He had figured he could continue to wait until a year had passed. That was a decent amount of time to wait before proposing, right?
So he had tried to put it out of his mind and had apparently succeeded pretty well. He had decided he would start thinking about it again after the New Year. Then he would start looking for rings and starting to think about the right thing to say.
But quick, clever Kyle, typically, had beaten him to the punch. While Malcolm had been busy not thinking about it, Kyle had gotten it going. Had even gotten the ring, Malcolm realized when he saw the box in Kyle’s hand and watched as Kyle went down onto one knee.
“Are you serious? Are you really doing this?” Malcolm whispered, not upset, not in the slightest, but more surprised than he had ever been before in his entire life. But he knew that he had made a mistake when he saw the hurt on Kyle’s face, the way that he recoiled, just slightly, away from him.
“You don’t need to answer,” Kyle told him, and he even dropped Malcolm’s hand, but Malcolm grabbed it again. He wasn’t letting this opportunity get away from him.
“Don’t you dare. You proposed to me fair and square. You’re stuck with it now, and I’m not letting you get away,” Malcolm informed him. He fell down onto his knees so that they were both there and stared in amazement as the smile came back onto Kyle’s face and he slid the ring onto the correct finger of Malcolm’s left hand.
Just like that, they were engaged. Something that Malcolm hadn’t been convinced would happen ever, and here it was. He stared down at the ring on his finger, then grabbed Kyle with tight, emotional hands and pulled him in to kiss him.
They had shared many deeply intense kisses during their time together, but this one was so filled with promise and love and commitment that it utterly left behind anything else that had ever happened to Malcolm in terms of pure meaningfulness. It was everything, their whole relationship, past, present, and future, all wrapped up in one incredibly perfect package.
It started off sweet and almost chaste, but it didn’t stay that way. Kyle gave a soft groan and licked along the seam of Malcolm’s lips, and without hesitation, Malcolm let them part and Kyle’s talented tongue darted in. Their tongues met and the rush of arousal, mixed with the exhilaration of being so newly engaged, combined into one incredibly heady, hot mass which started deep inside of him and then radiated out.
Luckily, Kyle seemed to be in the same situation, just as desperate as Malcolm was. Right there on the floor, they kissed each other, and Kyle’s fingers hooked into the towel which was all that Malcolm was wearing after his shower. It only took a split second to free Malcolm from it, and for Kyle’s incredibly clever fingers, which knew the exact perfect way to stroke him, to wrap around him and start to drive Malcolm completely insane.
It really wasn’t fair. Malcolm had been far closer to naked, so while he was busy trying to strip Kyle down, Kyle could play with Malcolm’s erection and make it almost impossible to think about anything else.
Which meant that he was already far too close to release by the time that he had gotten his hand on Kyle’s erection, he realized. So he fought back, pushing Kyle down onto the floor and upping the stakes, holding the base of his cock and then taking the whole thing into his mouth.
The familiar taste and the slippery feel of precome on his tongue made Malcolm moan as he started to bob his head. He looked greedily up at the face of his new fiancé as he sucked, loving the expressions on his face. Very quickly, he got the idea, and he was catching up, making Kyle as crazy for him as Kyle had so effortlessly made Malcolm for him.
“Wait, baby, hold on,” Kyle begged, gripping at Malcolm’s head and trying to pull it away from his aching, throbbing erection. “I don’t want to come like this.”
Malcolm didn’t misunderstand. He, too, wanted more than just a hand job or even a blowjob. For something big like their engagement, he wanted to be completely and totally connected to the man he loved.
“You want top or bottom?” he asked, and Kyle smiled and gave a little shrug, a rare response from the smaller man who tended to have a strong opinion about that either way. Which meant it was up to Malcolm.
Well, he knew what he wanted. He wanted the same thing that he’d had the first time that they had been together. It seemed appropriate, given their newly engaged status.
“I want you inside me,” Malcolm said decidedly and finally stood up, helping Kyle off of the floor and leading him to the bed. He grabbed the bottle of lube and then lay back, legs spread, amazed that he had gotten to a place of comfort with his own sexuality that he could open himself up, quite literally, to Kyle like this.
It took such a short time for Kyle to prepare him, and Malcolm groaned as he was penetrated with slippery fingers, first one, and then a second, pushing deep and spreading lube inside of him. He had to grit his teeth, because Kyle, the brat that he was, did quite deliberately rub against his prostate in a way that could have easily made him come if he didn’t very carefully control himself.
“Now. Now, or I swear to God, I will hold you down and ride your dick,” Malcolm growled when he knew that it was that or he would spill all over himself. Kyle, thank God, just nodded, shot him a cocky smirk, and lubed up his cock before he slid on top of Malcolm and between his legs. They didn’t even have to talk about it. They’d screwed in many different positions, but for this time, they both wanted to go face to face, looking into each other’s eyes.
“I love you,” Kyle whispered, just as he was lining up his slick cock against the aching, eager entrance to Malcolm’s body. There was no hint of a lie in his voice, and Malcolm believed him completely.
“I love you, too,” Malcolm returned, his voice husky. He had never expected to say those words to another man, had never thought that he would get to a place where he was comfortable with that, but here he was, and it felt so right.
Reaching around, he gripped Kyle’s ass, then pulled him in. He didn’t stop until he felt the sweet, slightly stinging stretch of that blunt, thick cockhead as it pressed just slightly inside of him. He was too impatient, too desperate, to wait, and luckily, it seemed like Kyle was, too.
As Kyle finally slid inside of him, Malcolm felt the slight burn of unshed tears in his eyes. He wouldn’t let them fall, of course. He didn’t want Kyle to think that he was hurting him, because he most definitely wasn’t. It was just that this was everything that he had ever wanted, without even knowing it and without even telling himself what he needed.
And Kyle had given it all to him.
They rocked together, and the orgasms, when they came, were within a split second of each other. The pleasure rocketed through Malcolm, and he saw the very same tension, and then sudden release, in Kyle’s face, felt the hot wash of his fluids inside of himself, their eyes locked on each other the whole time.
It was perfect. It was everything. It was unexpected and flawless and something that Malcolm was never, ever going to let go of.
