He knows how much I loved our time together at the B&B. He knows how much it meant to me and I’ve mentioned a few times how I’d like to go back.
Now it looks like we might.
“We don’t have to go there if you don’t want, but I thought that you could manage it as much as you want and hire help as needed. I can work from anywhere, so it doesn’t matter where we live. The kids will have a huge yard to play in, and we can fence it for the dog…”
He trails off and I can tell by the look on his face that he’s worried I’m upset.
Like I could ever get upset with him
We’ve made it through hell and found each other and now he does this - buys me the B&B that I dream about.
“I love it.”
“Really?” I can see the look of relief cross his face and I wrap my arms around him for a hug.
“I do. I love that place. It means so much to me...to us, don’t you think?”
“It means so much.”
I can tell that he wants to say more, but there’s something I need to tell him. I pull back so that I can look up into his face.
“Logan. Before we talk about moving, there’s something you need to know.”
“Tell me. We can handle anything together, right?”

I have no idea what Alice could want to tell me. I’m nervous, but excited.
We’ve built an incredible life together and I don’t want anything to change.
Well, except for moving to the B&B. We’ll be close to my sister, the kids will have their cousins, it’s all good.
So then why is my wife looking at me like that?
“I’m pregnant.”
At first, I’m not sure that I heard her correctly. My heart flips in my chest, which tells me that I did hear her right.
“Pregnant? Are you serious?”
She nods but looks a little nervous.
We hadn’t talked about having another kid, but I love our three rugrats. I love my wife.
I love how she glows and how gorgeous she looks when she’s pregnant.
“Another baby?” I still can’t quite get it through my head.
“Yes.” She’s breathy and I pull her to me for a hug. “How far are you?”
“Just eight weeks. I thought that I was just tired with the kids but it was something more. Are you happy?”
“Oh, Alice.” I kiss her, hard, forcing her mouth open so that I can taste her. “I had no idea that I would want another kid, but now...how could I not?”
“Really? Can we still move to the B&B?”
“Of course! We’ll move sooner so we can get the nursery ready. Don’t worry about one thing. I’ll take care of everything and make sure that you’re taken care of.”
She’s everything to me and has given me more happiness than I probably deserve.
I still can’t believe that she’s mine.
After all of the things that I’ve done wrong in my life, it’s crazy that I ended up with her.
That somehow I managed to find the woman I love.
I made her mine.
We made a family.
“You want to tell the kids?” She grins and nods for me and then calls them into the kitchen.
I love the news we have for them. A new baby, a new life.
But still the same love the two of us share.
