“You should come,” Jenna said flatly. She smiled and took a step in Lauren’s direction.

“Yeah, right,” Lauren laughed. “I wish.”

“No,” Jenna repeated. “You’re not getting me. I’m saying you should come…”

She took another step forward, and Lauren noticed her friend’s whole expression had changed. Her grin was mischievous now, even devilish. And Jenna had that look in her eye — the one Lauren had seen countless times before. But usually when—

“I didn’t come here just to check on you,” Jenna murmured softly. Slowly, deliberately, she slipped her arms over Lauren’s shoulders. “I also came to make you feel better.”

Lauren froze as her friend leaned in. Their foreheads touched. Her body, her dress — it was all pressing against her. Making her feel like—

  “I came for this…”

The bride’s lips brushed against hers, and then suddenly she was kissing her. Jenna’s lips were soft. Pliant. Hungry.

They sent a familiar electric shiver through Lauren’s entire body.

  Two

Lauren stood with her hands on Jenna’s hips, her friend’s mouth churning hungrily against her own. For a moment she relaxed her jaw, just letting her kiss her.

  Then she kissed her back.

She focused on Jenna’s softness, inhaling the bride’s heady, perfumed scent as something slipped past her teeth. She opened her mouth for her, and their tongues dueled sexily against one another…

“W—Wait. We can’t…” she said at last, pulling back. But Jenna kept on kissing her.

  “Not now. Not here…”

  “And why not?”

“Because of your wedding dress, for one!” Lauren protested. “It’ll get creased!”

She was even more alarmed — even for her own dress — as Jenna pushed her back onto the bed. But her friend only climbed on top, smiled, and kissed her again.

  “So?”

“So you’re getting married in a couple of hours!”

“And you think I care about a creased dress?” Jenna laughed into Lauren’s mouth. Her hands were moving now, finding their way beneath the hem of Lauren’s own dress. “What else?’

  “Well… I mean…”

It was getting difficult to concentrate. Especially with Jenna’s nimble fingers now sliding between her legs.

  “It’s your wedding day…”

Lauren gasped as she felt her panties being pulled to one side. It was all wet down there now. It had been since the moment Jenna started kissing her.

  “And?”

She inhaled sharply as a finger slipped inside her.

  “A—And… I…”

  Two fingers.

“Lay back, sweetie,” Jenna smiled. She pushed Lauren’s legs apart, and slid up alongside her. At that moment, with her veil hanging down, she looked astonishingly beautiful. The most sexual being in all the world.

The whole thing was turning Lauren on.

  “I…”

The wedding dress wasn’t hurting either.

  “You what?”

Lauren sighed, her body slumping, sinking into the bed. Jenna was relentless. It certainly wasn’t the first time she’d given in. It wasn’t even the hundred and first.

“So one last time between my legs?” Lauren whispered down at her. “Before getting hitched?”

Jenna’s eyes flared as she curled her fingers up against Lauren’s G-spot. Her friend jumped as if struck by lightning. She grinned wickedly.

“And what in the world would make you think this is our last time?” she asked.

Lauren tried to swallow past the lump in her throat.

“Well… you know. The whole you and Logan, getting married thing? I’d imagine that’s going to make getting together a little more difficult.”

Jenna pulled down the top of the bridesmaid’s dress, exposing one of her friend’s pert, pink nipples. She brushed Lauren’s blonde hair out of the way and ran her tongue over the surface, in long, wet circles. Then she took it playfully between her teeth.

“And you don’t think my soon-to-be-husband already knows?” Jenna winked.

  “A—About you and I?”

Her friend laughed. “Of course he knows! It’s not like we’ve been trying very hard to hide it.” She kissed her way over to give the other breast some attention. “Besides, why wouldn’t I tell him?”

Lauren shrugged. In truth, she always figured Logan knew something. After all, they were childhood friends. They’d been getting together sexually way before him. Since just before college.

  “I don’t know. I just figured…”

Her sentence went unfinished as Jenna pushed her way downward, sliding between her thighs. When she felt her friend’s tongue dart out and slip inside her, Lauren let out a long, low hiss.

  “Oh… Oh my God…”

She lay back and spread her legs, allowing her friend full access. As always, Jenna went to work devouring her pussy. She started with long, slow strokes using the flat of her tongue, working her way upward with a deliberate lack of speed. And all the while, her fingers kept going. Sliding their way through her glistening folds, pumping sexily in and out of her.

  “Oh fuck…”

Jenna probed her deeply at first, pushing into the places she knew Lauren needed to be touched. When she was satisfied her friend had been worked up enough, she began dragging her tongue all along the sensitive outside edges.

  “Mmmmmm…”

It was something Jenna had always loved doing: going down on her. So much so, that at one point they both joked that maybe she’d been born for it. Lauren enjoyed reciprocating of course, and that part was always amazing. Still, whenever they hadn’t been together for a while? Nothing stood between Jenna and… well… this.

Her friend simply couldn’t get enough of her pussy.

Lauren glanced down dreamily, staring between her thighs. “Oh wow,” she moaned. “Wow that’s so fucking hot.”

  “What is?”

“Seeing you in your bridal gown. It’s sexy.”

Jenna laughed again, this time into her pussy. Her friend went back at it, licking and sucking, her nose rubbing deliciously against her clit.

Lauren’s breathing changed as she felt her orgasm rising within her. It began somewhere far away, deep in her belly, but grew stronger and more pronounced as it surged inexorably outward. Jenna sensed it coming, as she always did. She began working faster, pressing down harder. Her tongue fluttered over Lauren’s clit while her fingers continued plunged in and out of her.

  “Oh… OHHHHH…”

Her climax was intense. Lauren tensed up, her back arching as she shoved herself downward into Jenna’s mouth…

  “OH FUUUUCK!”

Her body folded forward as Lauren exploded all over her best friend’s face. Her orgasm was pure and magnificent, all encompassing. A white, searing light of pure rapture that obliterated everything else. The room, the bed, even Jenna… all of it was gone for one shining moment, as her brain overloaded in ultimate ecstasy.

  “Oh my God… Oh… Oh shit…”

Eventually she floated back to Earth, hyper-aware of the soft, silky feel of her bridesmaid’s dress bunched up around her waist. It was like returning from an out-of-body experience.

  “Feel better?”

Jenna was looking up from between her thighs, her mouth and chin all glazed with her wetness. Lauren nodded wordlessly. Her half-lidded eyes said everything.

  “Come over here.”

She pulled her up and kissed her, enjoying the weight of her friend’s lithe, tiny body. Lauren could taste herself on Jenna’s tongue. Their eyes opened at the same time, and they stared into each other’s soul. A thousand words passed between them, without either of them saying anything. Then they giggled.

“Let me do you now,” Lauren finally sighed. She pushed on her friend to roll her over.

“I would…” Jenna replied, slipping away. “But we really should be getting back.

The bride stood up from the bed, straightening out her dress. She looked just as gorgeous as when she’d first walked in, only now her smile was even brighter.

  “Raincheck?”

“Sure,” Lauren smirked. She stood up herself, and immediately rolled her panties down her legs. They were small and frilly and absolutely drenched. “Well, that’s the end of these for tonight,” she laughed.

Jenna grinned. She was holding up her own tiny pair, a lacy white thong that said ‘sexy bride’ on them. Like Lauren’s, they were more than just damp. They were soaked through.

  “Mine too.”

“Aww,” Lauren lamented. “Those were special! Now I feel bad.”

“Don’t,” smiled Jenna. She dropped her panties onto the bed. “These are yours now,” she chuckled. “I want you to have them, to remember this night.”

Lauren’s face went suddenly serious. She looked at her friend with love and admiration. “I’ll never forget this night.”

  “I know.”

Together they rummaged through Lauren’s suitcase. Jenna came out with a sexy, triple-strap G-string in pure, bridal white. Reaching all the way down beneath her wedding dress, she stepped carefully into it.

“I guess this will be my ‘something borrowed’,” she giggled.

“Yeah, those were for Adam,” Lauren smirked.

  “Not anymore.”

They finished up, and Jenna took her by the hand. Her friend’s expression was once again filled with her usual adventure and excitement… that, plus the added thrill of her impending wedding.

  “Let’s go!”

  Three

The wedding, of course, was magnificent.

Jenna looked breathtaking as she walked down the aisle, wearing the same gown she’d worn lying on top of Lauren only a few hours ago. She was given away by Ethan, her older brother — as much a father to Jenna as anyone since the tragic death of their parents. He peeled her veil back with glassy eyes, trying his best not to cry. To his credit he made it all the way to the end, when Jenna and Logan were finally together, hand in hand.

Lauren stood by her friend’s side as Jenna was married in the ancient but gorgeously-decorated chapel. Some priest in colorful robes spoke a bunch of beautiful words, and before anyone knew it the bride was kissing the groom to thunderous, resounding applause.

Jenna beamed her way as she turned away from the altar, and Lauren grinned back. It seemed almost surreal. After all this time, all these wonderful memories together — one of them had finally gotten married.

The small bridal party filed their way out, stepping along a blue silken runner that ran all the way to the reception area. Once there Lauren hung back, snatching a glass of champagne from a passing tray while Jenna and her new husband finished greeting the guests.

“Just look at this place,” a voice snickered from beside her. “Only Jenna…”

Lauren smiled and turned to face Aiden. Jenna’s little brother already had a drink in his hand, and it wasn’t exactly soda.

“Should you really be drinking that?” she chided him.

“Hey, it’s England,” Aiden smiled back. “No drinking age here.” He took a slow pull from the glass. “Besides, I just turned eighteen. Close enough.”

Lauren laughed and elbowed him playfully. He was as much a little brother to her as to Jenna. The crash had happened when he was only nine years old, and Aiden had taken it worst of all. Between his older siblings, and the constant presence of Lauren? They’d done their best to help him through the pain.

“So your uh… boyfriend?” Aiden asked awkwardly. “He still…”

  “Gone? Yeah.”

  “What an idiot.”

Lauren tried to keep a brave face. Aiden was young enough to ask hard questions, but old enough to realize her own turmoil. He was only trying to comfort her, in his own blunt way.

“After the scene he made at the rehearsal dinner?” Aiden went on. “I don’t blame you for not wanting to see him again.”

The scene. Oh boy, had there been a scene! Lauren was embarrassed all over again just thinking about it. She felt her face flush red as she drained the rest of the glass.

“You can do a lot bett—”

“I know,” she interjected with a smile. “To tell the truth, I’ve always known. Maybe it just took this last straw to break the camel’s back.”

She realized her words were for her more than Aiden. She considered them carefully, weighing them in her mind.

“Well that was one hell of a straw,” Aiden conceded. He deftly grabbed another drink and handed it to her. “And maybe that camel sucked to begin with.”

Jenna’s little brother blew her a kiss and took off into the crowd. Lauren chuckled, watching him go.

Worse camel ever, she thought to herself.

The wedding grew even more beautiful as the night wore on.

In many respects it was like every other wedding on the planet. There was a cocktail hour, music, even a band. The guests ate, they danced, they laughed. But the ambiance of the old English castle seemed to magnify everything tenfold. Even the subtle beauty of the lights and decorations held more meaning when strung from six-hundred year old rafters. The drinks looked different splashing across timeworn flagstones that had seen the feet of dozens of generations.

And the bride… the groom! They looked magnificent together, almost magical as they whirled together in the center of the huge chamber. Jenna had never been more beautiful. Even Logan looked stunningly handsome; all dark haired and broad-shouldered in his flawless black tuxedo.

Lauren sighed and fought off another wave of nostalgia. She hated being alone. Always had. But for some reason, tonight it was somehow okay. Tonight was Jenna’s night, and Logan’s. She was happy enough to be a care-free, semi-buzzed witness to the most important night of her best friend’s life.

A slow song came on, and thoughts of Adam floated into her head. She pushed them away.

“C’mon,” a voice called over her shoulder. “Let’s dance!”

She knew the voice before even turning around. It belonged to Michael, one of the groomsmen. The one she’d been paired with, to walk down the aisle. The one who’d been trying to get Lauren to dance three times already, and now four.

“No thanks,” she said again. Each time it was getting harder to force a smile. “I’m good.”

“Well I know you’re good,” he quipped, chuckling at his own cleverness. He leaned in close. “But you really should dance with me.”

Lauren sighed. His breath smelled worse than before. More liquor, more beer. More whatever.

  “Thanks anyway, but I—”

This time he actually took her wrist. Lauren’s ass left the chair as Michael pulled on her, forcing her to her feet.

It made her angry. Pissed off, even.

  “Just one dan—”

Before she even knew what happened, Michael was yanked suddenly backward. Lauren saw two strong hands clasp his shoulders and whirl him around.

  “Mike!”

It was Logan. The groom stood toe to toe with his friend, holding him steady. Michael was staring up at him all bleary-eyed.

“There you are,” Logan declared. “You’re a hard man to find, Mike. Chris has been looking all over for you. Am I right Chris?”

“Damn straight,” Chris said from beside him. The other groomsman threw Lauren a sympathetic look, then winked. “Come on, bud,” he said, putting his arm around Michael. “I need you to meet someone…”

“M—Meet someone?” Michael was utterly confused.

  “Yeah, yeah, sure. Meet someone…”

She watched as Chris led Michael away, guiding him in a semi-straight line. When they were out of speaking distance, Logan smiled down at her apologetically.

“Sorry about that,” he said. “Mike’s a good guy, but sometimes he doesn’t know when to quit.”

Lauren grinned up at her best friend’s husband. Husband… The word tasted still strange of her
tongue.

“Dance with me?” Logan smiled, extending his hand.

Lauren leapt up happily from her chair. “You bet.”

  Four

For a destination wedding, there were still a good many people. With Jenna’s family being small they were almost exclusively from Logan’s side, and mostly on the younger end as well.

“I can’t believe your grandparents made it,” Lauren noted as Logan led her through the small crowd.

“Yup. All her life, Grandma has always wanted to see Europe. This was finally a good enough excuse.” He turned and slipped an arm around Lauren’s waist. “My gift to her,” he winked.

The dance floor was more of a large, informal oval before the grand fireplace. It was lit, and the roar of the flames in the enormous hearth did wonders to drive the chill out of air.

Lauren sighed cheerfully as the groom pulled her close. She felt happy and safe around Logan. Always had. He’d been the most wonderful boyfriend, and by far the best guy she’d ever seen Jenna with. She knew early on — as did her friend — that he’d make an amazing husband.

And if she was being honest? He was also incredibly hot.

“This could’ve been you, you know,” Logan smirked. He squeezed her hand gently.

“Yeah, yeah,” Lauren grinned back. “I’m not at all surprised Jenna beat me to it. She always—”

“No, not just this,” he gestured around to the wedding in general. “I mean… me. Our date.”

Lauren thought for a moment and then laughed. “Oh, right. You mean our almost date.”

  “That’s the one.”

Had it been so long that she’d nearly forgotten? Or had she blocked it intentionally from her mind?

Three years now, thought Lauren. Three long years since she’d been set up on a blind date with a stranger named ‘Logan’, only to fall violently ill at the very last minute.

  It could’ve been you…

The thought had crossed her mind a few times, of course. Especially in the beginning, with Jenna playfully reminding her. Lauren had been nervous and skeptical of being set up to begin with, so when she came down with a stomach bug that day it was almost a relief. Even so, she felt terrible about canceling the date.
