Khan Part I (Midnight Syn MC Book 1) Page 10

by N. Tetterton

“I know, Khan,” he pauses as he looks to the door. “You ready to get this shit done, Prez?”

“As ready as I’ll ever be,” I respond to him as I place the comms into my ear as he does the same thing. “Fury they will most likely be coming in from the south side, so I need you to let me know when you have eyes on them”

“I know, Prez.” That’s the thing about Fury, I say that Ash has been my right-hand man because Fury isn’t like a hand. He’s like my fucking lungs… I don’t have to consciously say anything to him he just knows to do what I’m thinking.

We all leave the house in a caravan until the truck that I am in pulls out away from the rest. They already know to go, sit in their spots, and wait. I have to go and get my bike from the shop first. We pull in and I jump out of the truck running to the door and unlocking it, locking the door behind me I rush to the bay which my bike is in and I hit the button to roll up the door as I toss a leg over my bike and right it.

“Wessex” I hear from in front of me and I stop every movement. As I look up I see Billie standing eyes wide. She storms into the bay as I continue to walk my bike out of the door.

Fuck, I don’t have time for this right now.

Judging by the look on her face though she is serious so I let my bike lean against its stand and shake my head walking back into the bay and pressing the button to close the button. “How da-“ I stop her as I glance at my watch. It’s ten-fifteen, with a fifteen-minute drive to the marina I don’t have time to have this out with her just yet. I pull her with me into the lobby of the shop as I begin to talk.

“Bil, I’m so sorry, princess, but I don’t have time to have this out with you right now.” Her shocked expression is all that I can see. And it pains me that she looks sad about me not being able to talk with her. “Believe me. I’m so sorry, I would gladly have you yell and scream at me right now, but I have this meeting set up that I cannot miss or be late too.” In fact, I need to get there fifteen early… because that’s my reputation. I can smell the alcohol on her breath as I open the front door for her to pass through and lock it behind me. She still hasn’t said a word. So I just continue to speak. “I don’t know how long I’ll be but I can come to see you afterward. You can yell at me all you want to then, okay?” Her head nods and I smile, and I lean over and place a light peck on her cheek.

As she turns to walk away all I can think about is if this goes south and I never get this chance again. I reach out, grabbing her by the arm, and spin her back into me. I wrap my other arm tightly around her back and smash my lips down to her’s. I can hear the guys from my SUV at the other side of the parking lot yelling in my ear as they watch it unfold and Fury and Ace confused as fuck trying to figure out what, in fact, is happening. Next thing I know Ash is narrating the entire thing to them, like a goddamn sportscaster. Her mouth opens when she feels my tongue touch her lips, she tastes like cinnamon I can only imagine what she has been drinking tonight, and her arms immediately wrap around my neck. She’s forceful in her response as I feel her push her tongue meeting my every move. I reach down letting my hands find the curve of her ass as I easily lift her up and she wraps her legs around my torso in an immediate response. I feel the pull on my shoulders that her legs are just above the guns which rest at my sides as I turn and press her back against the outside wall of the shop. Ash is in my ear telling me to wrap it up because we’ve got to go as I slow our kiss down until it’s just a couple of pecks and her legs unwrap from around me. I place her back down on the ground and look at her, “So, beautiful.” I whisper to her looking at her flushed face, her swollen lips, and her heavy breathing. “I’ve really got to go through.” She nods still stunned, before I place one last kiss onto her lips, and turn to walk away.

“Dax,” she calls to me as I throw my leg over my bike and I look back over to her. “I’m not at my place anymore, I’m at Lucy.”

I smile back to her, “Alright, princess, I’ll see you soon.”

“Finally,” I hear Ash in my ear.

“Can it, fucker.” I mutter as my officers start laughing. I drive off to the other side of the parking lot to where the truck sits and lead the way to the marina.

“Hey Fury, do me a favor while we are waiting on them to show. Look up Lucy, Billie's friend, and get me an address.” He agrees and within 5 mins tells me he’s got it. This is why I keep this fucker around.

When we pull up to the marina there still isn’t a sign of them. They park the truck as I park my bike a few feet away and I kick-off of it. “Guys, we should buy a boat.” I hear laughter coming from the other end. “Seriously, have an upper hand with these things.”

“Clubhouse at sea.” Ash says as he walks up to me which makes me laugh, “nothing bitches love more than a fucker with a yacht”

“I’m not sure we have a clubhouse on a yacht kind of money, yet,” Ace says, being the most real that he is as well as the treasurer.

“Guys,” Fury comes on sounding serious, “incoming” And I turn as I hear the motorcycle turning into the parking lot and watch the guys at the truck shift a little bit.

“You got my back, bro,” I say to Ash and he nods his head as we bump fists and wait for them to stop.

The bikes stop in front of us and I wait for Fury to tell me if more men are coming. “That’s all of them, just the 4 unless the rest are coming in later or from a different route.”

“If you see them come later, Ace follow them in. Fury I want you to hang back. Let Tito think you didn’t come unless we really need you.”

“Heard, Prez” I hear Fury say, slightly irritated. Tito and X, his VP, get off their bikes and walk up to us. The van follows them in after them and parks next to their bikes. Tito’s an older man, in his late fifties and everyone has been wondering when he is going to be retiring. Even if Tito has 20 years on me, he was a prospect 2 years after I came into the MC. He actually started as a prospect in the Midnight Syn with me but jumped ship early on. The only reason he has been the president of the Henchmen for as long as he has is that they keep starting a war with other rivals, we have managed to stay off of their shit list for most of that time though. X is smaller, looks to be a pretty boy, and not one fucking scar on his face, which surprises me. He’s young too, but I guess I shouldn’t judge too much since I have been the VP of our chapter for the last 8 years and my current VP is pretty young as well.

“If it isn’t Khan,” I continue to stare stoically at him as they approach.

  “Tito,”

“I’m assuming this is your new VP.”

“Yeah, I’m sure you have met Ash before.” I nod to him standing beside me.

“Looks familiar.” He mutters, “Aw, where the Fur-ster,” he asks.

“What the fuck did he just call me?” Fury asks into my ear, and I have to fight off a chuckle.

“Had other things to attend to tonight,” I tell him and he looks a little hurt.

“More important than me?” He asks and I nod my head.

“Tito we have businesses we have to keep running as well.” He nods his head understanding.

“Khan, let’s you and I take a walk.” Ash steps up with his hand on his gun and I see Lex and Blaze move forward as well, I slightly tilt my head and they all remove their hands from their weapons.

Tito looks a little impressed as Ash says, “Prez, you let me know and I’ll shoot him myself.” Staring right at Tito not flinching when X steps up to him as if he’s going to hit him. Which makes Tito roar with laughter.

“Oh, your Prez is safe with me, for now.” And he motions for me to follow him as we walk down the floating dock at the marina. We walk for a few minutes until I stop him.

“Tito, are we taking a romantic moonlit walk.” And he laughs. “What did you want to talk about?”

“Kid,” he looks at me and I want to rip his fucking tongue out of his mouth, “let me give you some advice on running the MC.” I laugh out and look at him.

  “Give me advice. Tito, don’
t ever forget that I gave you your prospect patch, myself. Just because you decided to turn your back on your brothers who were loyal to you because you saw a club that you could move through the ranks quicker… doesn’t mean that I forget about all of that” oh yeah, that’s why Tito and I don’t get along and I can tell that I struck a nerve with that part, “Just because you have twenty years on me doesn’t take away from the fact that I have been in this life a little bit longer than you have.” I stop and I look at him right in the eyes, stepping in close to him so that only him and I, well and Fury, Ace, and Ash, can hear the words I’m saying. “and while we’re at it stay the fuck out of my territory, if not I’ll put a fucking bullet in your head.”

“Is that a threat?” He looks at me trying me.

“You’re fuckin’ right, it is. Now, is there something that you want to talk to me about, cause if not I have much better places I could be right now?” My favorite part about this job is scaring the shit out of men who think that they’re tough. Emphasis on thinks.

“Alright,” he pauses, “there’s a place that I’m looking at in Sonston End. It’s on the edge of town.”

“Tito, what did I just say.” I roll my eyes.

“Khan, look we can work out a deal. What if we pay you a percentage for the place?” Aw, shit. I have to get out of this without promising shit.

“Let me talk to the club.”

“Bullshit, you’re the president now you can make the fucking decisions.”

“I know that you were only a part of the Syndicate for a few months, but that’s never the way that we have run things. As I said, we’ll put it up to a vote.” All I can hear is Fury saying fuck that shit in my ear, but I’m not sure if he’s still upset about the Fur-ster comment. As well as an already voted it’s a fuck him! from Ace. “I’ll put it up to a vote.” I turn around and walk back up to the dock knowing that Ash will let me know if he pulls a gun on me or anything because I can see Ash from where I walk. I also want Tito to feel like I’m not fucking scared of him at all. When I get back up to the parking lot I motion for Lex and Blaze to grab the bag out of the truck and bring it over.

“What is this?” Tito asks me as he walks back up. “Think of it as a gift for your understanding.” The bag contains a handful of guns, some weed, and a little bit of the party supplies which they usually buy from us. “It’s not much, but it’s all we could get together on such short notice”

“Prez,” I hear come through my ear, and Ash and I both straighten up, “you’ve got incoming. 6 bikes heading your way.” Fury comes through saying.

“Ace, go towards the marina. We’re going to sit here. Let us know if we miss someone coming in.”

“Tito,” I shake my head, looking down. “Why are you trying to fuck us?” I ask him mere seconds before the bikes pull into the parking lot. As Blaze and Lex pull their guns on the 6 bikers pulling into the lot. The black SUV continuing Ace and his group pull in right behind them and all 4 guys jump out guns drawn. I take two steps up to Tito and pull out both of my guns one drawn on Tito and one drawn on X. “Tell your men to get back on their fucking bullshit bikes and run back home. Or both of you will go down at the same time.”

“They’ll shoot you if you shoot me…”

“It would be so worth it,” I smirk back to Tito. Nothing is more terrifying than a man who doesn’t give a shit if he lives or dies. He contemplates the deal at hand. “But come on let’s be serious. I would much rather be doing other things tonight than cleaning up 8 bodies. Tell your men to go home.” Tito lifts his hand up and the 6 bikers, climb back onto their bikes, leaving just as they came. I lift my head just slightly and watch as the 4 guys get back into the SUV and move out of the marina as well.

“At least we know now what to expect for next time.” I hear X say and I laugh.

“If I played all of my cards, you wouldn’t be riding back home tonight.” X looks shocked. While I’m still facing X, I cock my right arm back and with the pistol still in my hand, I slap Tito across the face. I watch as Tito’s face moves with the force of my hit and then his body falls to the ground. X pulls out his gun and points it at me. “I wouldn’t do that,” I mutter as I point around him. Blaze and Lex are now standing behind him with their guns pointed at X as well as Ash has his drawn in front of him. As Tito lays on the ground I kneel down over him, “Stay out of my fucking territory.” I stand back up and hear X yelling at me.

“I’ll fucking kill you. I don’t need my gun… you fucking pussy. Can’t fight with your hands.” I motion to the rest of the guys to put their weapons down. As I hear Tito mutter a pathetic groan for him to stop.

“X, want to know how I got my name?” I say to him as I place my gun back into my holster, smirking at him as he raises his fists. “This is a bad idea,” I tell him before he charges at me, swinging. I duck his first couple of swings before I let him land one. It’s not hard enough to break the skin, or even to bruise. I fail pretty badly at trying not to laugh.

My laughter fuels his anger even more as he charges me again, swinging a couple more times, I duck and dodge those as well. I can see him breathing heavy right before I strike. Let him tire himself out. Run all of his energy out before I attempt anything. All it takes is landing one perfectly placed punch and then I watch X become unsteady on his feet before he falls to the ground.

“Shit Khan, did you have to do that?” Tito snaps at me.

“No, if you would have taught your VP not to run his mouth. It wouldn’t have had to happen.” I laugh as I nod to Blaze and Lex to come and help load X as well as his bike into the van.

Want to know what’s worse than laying someone out. Helping them back up afterward.

…After that kiss. He’s coming. Maybe in more ways than one.

My head is buzzing when I get back to the car and Lucy sits in the driver's side. “Holy shit,” she mutters as I slide in.

  “Yeah, holy shit.”

“That was the hottest kiss I’ve ever seen” I nod my head as she puts the car into drive and I watch Dax ride off to the other side of the parking lot and a black truck with dark tinted windows pulls out behind him. I can’t help but wonder about what kind of meeting he has at this time of night, but then I remember the whole 1% things and the fact that I’m sure he has guns under his vest and his torso felt harder than normal and I try and push the thoughts out of my head. “Although,” she starts talking again as we pull onto the street in the direction of her house, “I can’t decide if it was that kiss or just him that has me more turned on.” She ponders and I look at her shaking my head.

  “Lucy,”

“What?” She asks innocently looking at me. “He is fucking sexy.”

  ❖

When we get home I run into my room, “Luc, watch my phone if he texts, let me know.”

“What are you doing?” she asks.

“Shaving.” And Lucy looks at me shocked, “You know just in case.” I mumble at her which causes her to start laughing.

I turn the shower on and step into it, reaching for my shaving cream, and razor. I shave nearly my entire body.

An hour later, after getting out of the shower, after I have retouched my makeup, and I realize that I never gave the address to Lucy’s place to Dax before I left him.

“I never gave him the address.” I look at Lucy as she sits in the living room and she laughs. “Should I be concerned that he didn’t seem worried about getting it though? Maybe he doesn’t really intend on coming over.”

“After that kiss. He’s coming. Maybe in more ways than one.” She looks at me in a sarcastically questioning expression.

“Lucy!” I yell at her hitting her legs as we hear the rumble of a motorcycle coming down the road. “Now, should I be concerned that I didn’t need to tell him where you lived?” I ask her and she laughs.

“Probably,” she looks at him again, “but a man with that sort of power is kind of sexy. And with that, I’m going to bed.” She walks back to her bedroom as I walk
to the door and open it.

Watching Dax stand and dismount his bike in one swift movement. When he looks up at me I see the corners of his mouth turn up. “Princess,” he calls to me as he walks up to the porch then leans over and kisses me once more. “You ready to hash this all out.” I can think of about a dozen other things that I would rather do. But I nod my head showing him to the room that I’m staying in. When I turn on the lights, I look at him standing there and I look confused as I pick up his hand.

“Dax, is this blood on your hand?” I ask him and he looks down concerned before his eyes go wide when he realizes that it is.

“I’ll be right back” he mutters as he walks into the bathroom and I hear the sink turn on. When he comes back he smiles, “Sorry, about that.” He sits down and slides closer to me.

“Whose blood was that?” I ask him and he shakes his head. “Dax,” I look at him.

“I had a meeting I had to go to.” Is all he says. “What did you want to yell at me about earlier?” He asks me and I can’t help but smirk and look down.

“Sorry about that, I don’t know what came over me. We were driving home and you were getting out of the SUV when we were passing the shop and I told Lucy to pull in. I’m sorry, I held you up.” I tell him and he smirks, just a little bit.
