“Trevor?” She quizzed. “What are you doing here? I came here to get away from you.”
He winced. Then, slowly walked over to her. “I needed to find you,” he croaked. “Chloe told me that you might be here.” He took a deep breath and prepared himself for the next sentence to come out of his mouth.
Emelia studied him as if she knew the moment between them was going to be epic, but she couldn’t narrow down a specific reason.
“Emelia,” Trevor whispered. There was only an inch separating their bodies. Her skin was bronze and toned under the radiant light of the sun. “I love you. If you don’t listen to another word I say, please listen to that.”
There it was. He’d laid it all out on the line for her. The ball was in her court, and he held his breath, praying that she would reciprocate.
Emelia’s eyes welled with tears; a few slid down her cheeks.
“I don’t want you here. I came here to be alone. To think.”
He respected that. If she wanted him to go, he would go. He gathered himself, his emotions, forcing himself to do what she wanted. He turned to go, but her soft voice stopped him.
“He would have died either way that night you know. Campbell, too. The fuel yard was right across the street, the front lined with full tanks. If they’d gotten a direct hit to the back of the car, the cops said they would have been forced right into the tanks.”
Her lashes fluttered. “It doesn’t make it right, Trevor. In my heart, I know you were trying to save them, to save Kyle. Yet I also know, that had you not been there to try and stop it, I’d be without both my brothers right now.”
Was she forgiving him? His face felt numb. She approached him, stopped inches from him, her gauzy white skirt fluttering around her bare feet.
“I love you, Trevor Jameson.”
“I’m so sorry, for everything,” Trevor said as his heart pounded. “I never want to hurt you, ever.”
Emelia wrapped her arms around him. “I know.” Her smile gleamed brighter than the sun.
He leaned down to press his lips to hers. She put a finger to his lips to stop him.
Emelia frowned. “Don’t you guys have a show tonight?”
Trevor nodded. “Yes, I need to get back.”
Emelia stroked his cheek. “I can’t believe you put your show at risk just to come and find me.”
Trevor laughed. “My band members aren’t thrilled with me right now,” he confessed. “But that’s what love is. I had to find you and bring you back with me.”
Emelia glanced towards the cabin.
“Do we have time for a proper reunion?” she grinned.
As soon as they got inside the cabin, Trevor began to slip off Emelia’s clothes. They fell around her body like silk slipping off her slender, tanned skin.
She gave him an eager; lust filled gaze. She was wet and slick as he pressed himself into her, grunting as he made contact between her legs and pushed his way inside of her. She felt so good. He loved making love to her, especially now that they had made up and were currently flying through the clouds.
Emelia moaned and arched her back, giving in to the pleasure. Trevor grinded on top of her, grunting as he made his way to the sweet glory of climax. He thrust harder and pumped his throbbing manhood inside of her, pulsing with unity.
Emelia wrapped her legs around his waist and dug her heels into his backside. She raked his back with her nails and ran her shaking hands through his hair. Her sexy moans stroked his ego, filling him with masculine pride.
He groaned as orgasm erupted from his cock like a geyser. It was an explosion of love as they came together. It was a magical moment that he wished he could freeze in time, but it would burn a hole through his memory forever.
LATER THAT NIGHT, TREVOR stood on the stage. He sang and played his guitar with more enthusiasm than he’d ever had before. He felt so alive, and his euphoria was fed directly by the crowd. Emelia was there, standing in the front row.
She was the sexiest groupie in the crowd, and she was his. She danced and sang along to every word, moving her body against the beat of the music. In that singular moment of his life, he vowed to never let her slip through his fingers again.
Epilogue
“I can’t believe we’re getting married.” Emelia wrapped her arm around Trevor’s shoulder and squeezed. “Married!”
Her squeal of delight tickled his soul. He chuckled and roped his fingers around hers. “Best decision I ever made.”
It had been a four months since the tour ended, and Trevor had just proposed. The sound of the Hawaiian waves created a serene and peaceful sound that surged through them both. It was the perfect Hawaiian landscape that filled him with bliss. The sun was setting with incredible pinks and oranges over the water. It was the perfect ending to the perfect day.
“I can’t wait to make love to you later under the stars,” Trevor whispered. His imagination ran wild as he visualized getting Emelia alone, stripping off her sundress and making love to her all night while the waves crashed in front of them. They had perfect canopy tents set up outside of their quaint and cozy little villa. It was a wonderful destination for a surprise proposal, and Emelia been shocked out of her mind.
She gave him a sultry mischievous smile that made her seem sexually raw. “I can’t wait for that either.”
Emelia began to tingle with all the naughty phrases Trevor was whispering in her ear. He was really trying to tantalize her senses and get her into bed as quickly as possible. She absorbed the way he stared at her with complete appreciation. It really was an intoxicating kind of love.
There had even been a cluster of dolphins swimming out in the ocean when they were up on the altar professing their love. It was a picture-perfect moment, and Emelia would remember the way her heart pounded just for Trevor for the rest of her life.
“Give me a kiss, you handsome almost-my-husband.” She grinned and yanked him by the neck, pulling him closer to her.
“Gladly, my gorgeous fiance,” he beamed giddily.
She didn’t care if they looked like two fools in love. She wanted to proclaim her dedication to Trevor to the world. She could have never imagined in her wildest dreams that she’d get engaged such a handsome rock star with a huge heart and passion for others.
Everything was falling in place. After the tour had ended, Trevor had flown out to California and apologized to him in person for the car accident that had taken place so many years ago. All was forgiven, and they could move on with their lives. Campbell had even offered to have the band over to present some of their upcoming tracks to see if they could work together in the future. Infinity Prism had purchased studio space in LA, and Emelia planned to stay there when the band was off-tour to do work for her brother. When the band went back on tour, she’d follow and work remotely. Wherever her fiancé was, was where she wanted to be.
The gentle Hawaiian breeze tickled her cheek. She giggled and bit her lip, pointing across the tent that was lit up with magnificent twinkling white lights. “Look,” she whispered.
“What is it?” Trevor craned his neck to see better.
“It looks like Chloe and Roman are getting chummy with each other,” she mentioned casually.
“Really?” Trevor squinted to get a better look; then he started chuckling. “Well, would you look at that?”
Emelia watched them with fondness. She cared deeply for Chloe and wanted her to find true happiness.
It appeared as if Roman was elaborately telling Chloe a joke. Every so often, Chloe would give him a flirtatious glance and would graze her fingertips across his arm. It was a classic move.
“I’m all for it if they get together,” Emelia said dreamily.
Trevor stroked her back. “Come on.” He took her hand and helped her stand up in her heavy wedding dress. “Let’s get back to mingling. Tonight is all about you. You’re going to be a beautiful bride.”
Emelia’s heart flipped. “I love you so much. You can be the lead singer of the best ban
d in the world, but to me, you’ll always be my own personal Rock God.”
Trevor beamed as he led her out into the dance floor.
The night was young, and the future was bright.
