Christophe smiled softly. “I love you!”

Koi went quiet, so Christophe stepped back. His heart sank. “Fuck. I probably shouldn’t have just sprung that on you.”

  “Christophe…”

Christophe turned on his heels and went running through the house. He wanted the earth to open up and swallow him. Why hadn’t he thought before he opened his mouth? The shock he saw written all over Koi’s face had said it all.

He burst into the room and slammed the door behind him, covered his face and pressed his back into it.

“I never thought I’d hear a man say those words to me,” Koi’s voice was soft, raspy.

Christophe looked up and gasped. He’d forgotten Koi was anything but a mere man and running from him was damn near impossible. “You know, you being able to pop in and out of places makes storming away from you hard.”

“I never want you to hide your feelings from me or be ashamed of them. Do you think I went through what I have for the rest of this miserable planet?” Koi took a step forward. “Sure, I did it to save them, but you were the most important of them all. I did it because I cannot see myself without you.”

  Christophe’s cheeks heated.

“You see, that day when I saw you at your mother’s grave, I was security, meant to stay out of sight. But your heart was so broken all I wanted to do was pull you into my arms. But you did not know me…”

  “I wouldn’t have complained.”

“What I am trying to say is that I’ve loved you, Christophe, from the moment I saw you. You never, ever have to worry about that. Tell me again.”

  “Tell you, what?”

  Koi smiled. “That you…”

  “I love you.” Christophe whispered.

“I promised you some time away,” Koi said. “I need to get you alone, just you and me. Can you leave?”

“Always. But I have to tell Geoff. Where are we going?”

Koi turned to look out of the window. “Mauritius.”

  “Africa?”

“Yes.” Koi looked at him then.

Christophe smiled. He hurried for the door, stopped then rushed back to throw himself into Koi’s arms and kiss him soundly. “Sorry, I just wanted to make sure.”

  Koi smiled. “I’ll be here.”

Happy, Christophe stole another smooch then darted out of the door to speak with Geoff.

After a quick meeting with Osaki and Ciro, Koi took Christophe home to pack a bag. Then, wrapping his arms around Christophe’s hips, Koi kissed him while they disappeared from Christophe’s place and appeared inside a beautiful beach house that backed up to the ocean. It belonged to Poseidon and while he was away, Koi had a talk with the God of the Sea about using the place for a while. He knew he had to take Christophe away so they could sit down and have a conversation without the business of the world.

  “Wow,” Christophe whispered.

  “Do you like it?”

  “Like it? Is this yours?”

“No, Poseidon’s. I never did get a place here, on Earth. I stayed with my mother in the North Shores. Come, let me show you the bedroom.”

Christophe laughed softly. Koi led Christophe up the floating staircase and down a hallway that passed two other bedrooms, an office and a stocked bathroom. When they finally stepped into the massive bedroom, he enjoyed Christophe’s reaction.

“What did you do with Hera?”

Koi took a breath and touched a vase sitting on the dresser before turning to look at Christophe again. “We brought her to the Fates.”

  “The Fates?”

“They are the three sisters who write the blueprint for our destinies. They do not take kindly to interference.”

“Please, no one writes my destiny.”

Koi smiled. “No, they do not write where you’re going, just the mockup. It’s strange to explain.”

  “What about Gnóseis?”

Koi sighed. “She has been sentenced.”

“For crying out loud, Koi! Give me something except strange, short answers. You don’t have to hide things from me. I’m a big boy!”

“My apologies. We’ve tried purging her after the mess with Ciro. But it seems that did not work. So, the Fates took her powers and now she’s just another human being.”

  “But how old was she?”

“I am not certain. She will die, yes. I know that is your worry. Could we please discuss something else? I feel…”

Christophe’s shoulders rose and fell as he walked away to the large glass doors. Koi watched as he undid the latches and pulled them aside. The ocean air filled the room but Koi didn’t move.

  “Christophe?”

Christophe turned to look at him then hurried back inside to touch Koi’s cheek. “You’re tired.”

  “A little.”

“Let me make you something to eat,” Christophe said. “You can snack then lie down for a while. We can do something once you’re awake. Besides, I just want to be in your arms.”

Koi smiled. He was relieved to hear that. Over the past few days, all he’d been able to think about was Christophe—the way he smelled, tasted, felt against his body. “We could eat,” Koi began. “But I have a much better idea.”

  “Do tell.”

Without a word, he stripped Christophe naked then backed up to sit on the bed.

“Your body is so beautiful to me,” Koi whispered.

  Christophe smiled shyly.

“Your amazing nipples, the hardness and curves of your body, the color of your skin—everything about it turns me on.”

“Do you want to see my ass, Daddy?”

Koi grinned, spreading his legs to alleviate the pressure his throbbing dick caused. “Daddy?”

  “You don’t find it sexy?”

Koi chuckled. “Strangely, yes, I do.”

“So do you want to see my ass or not?”

  “Yes. Of course.”

When Christophe turned and bent over slightly, Koi almost swallowed his tongue. No matter how many times he saw that beautiful ass, the perfect bubble of it spreading before his eyes, he always felt as if all he wanted to do was shove his face between those cheeks.

Koi slipped from the bed while pushing his coat from his shoulders. He discarded it without a second glance and crawled forward. He inhaled deeply, close to Christophe, remembering the scent of this man, his man, when he was aroused and yearning to be fucked. The thought that Christophe wanted him and no other aroused him more and, without being able to control himself, Koi shoved his tongue between Christophe’s cheeks.

“Oh, damn baby!” Christophe cried out. “Eat it.”

Koi didn’t need to be told twice. He moved them across the room so Christophe could brace his arms against one of the luxurious white chairs by the window. Once he was sure that Christophe wouldn’t fall, Koi went back to feasting, sliding his tongue over Christophe’s hole. While he licked, he stripped his own clothes off and stroked himself. He teased himself, dragging his palm over the cum-covered head of his penis then sliding down the shaft. He pushed himself to the edge, backed off then built the desires again.

  “Koi! Oh, Koi!” Christophe cried.

“That’s it, baby, come for me!”

  “But you haven’t… Damn… Fuck me…”

“There’s plenty of time for that later, my darling,” Koi teased, kissing one cheek then the other. “Now, do not argue, let me see you explode.”

Koi spread Christophe wide and moved his tongue in again, using it as he wanted to do with his cock. He listened to Christophe’s heavy breathing, the soft pants and the periodic cries of lust. He smiled, sucked a finger wet then slid it into Christophe. That did it—his lover arched, trembled violently then erupted in a climax that seemed to take hold of his whole being.

With one final lick and a kiss, Koi eased back and sat on the floor. His chest was heaving just as much as Christophe’s. For a silent moment, neither of them moved nor spoke.

  Christophe was the f
irst to recover. Koi was too far gone, too turned on. He was barely holding onto his powers as it was. Then Christophe rose to the bag he’d carried inside. There was the sound of a zipper before his lover returned and knelt beside him. Christophe worked away, freeing Koi from his pants only to pull Koi’s hard cock to the back of his throat. Koi growled, a sound that echoed off the walls around them. It was silenced only by the waves crashing into the shores and the mountains on the other side.

“Keep your powers in check,” Christophe whispered before licking at the head of Koi’s dick.

“I thought they turned you on,” Koi teased.

“They do. But I want to see if you can actually control yourself.”

“You know that is impossible,” Koi replied. “When you touch me, I cannot think, much less hold the rain from the earth. Now, enough—put it back in your mouth.”

  “Ask nicely.”

Koi smirked as his eyes crackled with electricity. “Please.”

Christophe brought Koi to the brink then, to that moment before his balls tightened and his cock spurted. Just before that happened, however, Koi pulled his abused dick from Christophe’s lovely lips.

“You wanted to be fucked?” Koi asked.

  “Yes, hard and fast.”

  “Climb on, baby.”

Koi held his breath, watching Christophe slide a condom on him. He lubed Koi then stood over him. He looked up into Christophe’s handsome face and recognized the heated tattoo of desire flickering through Christophe’s eyes. Then, slowly, Christophe lowered his body, cheeks spreading on their own with the action, and soon the head of Koi’s rod was inside Christophe’s body.

“Oh, darling,” Koi whispered. “I want deeper—let me go deeper.”

“Baby, as deep as you want it.”

It was heaven sliding into Christophe’s heated sheath. With each pump of their hips, every graze of Christophe’s nails, Koi found they floated a little higher from the ground. In the throes of passion, he managed to get them onto the bed. Christophe didn’t miss a beat. With their lips fused together, Koi wrapped his arms around Christophe’s back and drove into him.

“I love you,” Christophe whispered against the side of Koi’s head between nips of his earlobe.

After such a long search, Koi had never thought a man would say those words to him and mean them. He had never imagined it would feel so good, so sexy to hear them. Perhaps it was the way they sounded, breathy and husky leaving Christophe’s lips, or maybe it was just the fact that Christophe was the one saying them. Whatever the reason, his body reacted incredibly to those three small words.

“Say that again,” Koi growled. “I need to…”

“I love you, Koi,” Christophe said. “I love you so much.”

Koi covered Christophe’s mouth with his, drinking in the words of love and the cries of ecstasy. He rolled his body with Christophe, crushing Christophe’s hard, thick cock between their bodies. When he climaxed, the room sizzled with electricity and a gust of wind blew through the room. Still, he hung on to Christophe’s shaking body, feeling the heat of his cum against Koi’s flesh. Though Christophe could hardly breathe, Koi couldn’t let him go. It was as if his arms were frozen around his lover’s sweat-drenched body.

“I love you too, Christophe. I have loved you since the beginning of everything.”

  IntoXication: So Into You

  Excerpt

The city of Bathsheba was nestled between two lush mountains which both stunned Alfred and filled him with pride. There was just something about watching the snow cover them during the winter then, as if by magic, seeing them bloom green in the summer. Every turn of season, those high peaks took his breath away, and he’d stopped trying to figure out why years prior.

But with its beauty came the outside world, barreling into the medium-sized town, making it feel from time to time that it would burst at the seams. In the summertime, Bathsheba was always crawling with tourists who spent their every moment hiking up these beautiful slopes. In the wintertime came the skiers, the snowboarders and the photographers. Even with its precarious location, Bathsheba was booming with a lavish economy with its fair share of ups and downs.

The sun stood prominently in the sky, warming Alfred Leung to the very core. He couldn’t help a surge of happiness that he even hummed along with Taemin, who blared into his ears through his headset.

It was the kind of day that not even visiting his mother or going to work could ruin for him. Not even finding his boyfriend, the man he’d seriously been thinking of asking for his hand in marriage, balls-deep in another man could tarnish it. Alfred parked across the street from his mother’s house, fed the meter and glanced both ways before jogging across the road. The security guard didn’t give him any hassle about I.D. since Alfred was there on a regular basis.

“You are a sucker for punishment, aren’t you?” the guard asked. “That woman would have given me a stroke by now.”

Alfred bumped fists with him. “Yeah. But what can I do? She’s my mother and no matter how crazy she makes me…well…she’s my mother.”

The guard laughed and Alfred stepped into the elevator. All the way up, Alfred wondered the same thing the guard had asked him. His mother wasn’t easy to get along with on the best of days, but when he came out, she hadn’t thrown him off the balcony. Sure, she’d been disappointed and had needed some time to come to grips with the possibility of never having a grandchild, but she’d come around. That was something—that was a light in an otherwise dark tunnel. The elevator pinged and the doors parted. Before stepping out, he took a few cleansing breaths then hurried along the corridor to her apartment. He didn’t bother knocking since he had a key. Alfred let himself into the unit.

  “Móuh Chàn?”

  “Cheu-fahng! ” Mei-Ling replied in a distracted-sounding voice.

Alfred removed his shoes, set them to the side on the mat and made his way into the kitchen, where his mother was busy stirring a large pot. “Hi, Mom. What’re you cooking?”

  “Not sure yet. Somethin’ missing.”

He peered into the pot and noticed it was soup—at least he thought it was soup. She glanced at him and he kissed her head. “How are you, Mom?” Alfred spoke in English because he wanted to force her to use the language. Even if she did reply in Cantonese, at least she would be hearing English.

  “Good—what you look like so?”

  “Like what?”

She wiggled her wrist at him then dumped some pepper into her pot and stirred.

  “Bo and I broke up.”

Mei-Ling tilted her head and gazed at him. “Him broke you or you broke him?”

Alfred didn’t bother correcting her grammar or perception of what he’d just said. He explained it all to her. She merely dropped the spoon on the counter and darted around him to a cupboard.

  “You fix,” Mei-Ling said simply.

Alfred stood before her and shook his head. He couldn’t believe what she was asking him to do. Any other mom would be running to grab a frying pan from the kitchen to beat his ex into oblivion, but not his mother. She wanted him to stay with the lying, cheating, sorry excuse of a man because he was wealthy and had a good name—and he was Chinese.

“Sorry, Mama,” Alfred said in Cantonese, his voice shaking. “I’m your son. You’re supposed to want better for me.”

“I do want better for you,” she replied. “Bo is wealthy, come from good family, has education—you can’t do better than him.”

Her broken English annoyed him. Mei-Ling had been in the country long enough to be able to speak properly, but she refused to even try. “He slept with someone else, Mama.”

“Your father sleep with others. I stay with him.”

  “Because?”

“Look at life you had. Your father great provider.”

“So let me get this straight.” Alfred took a step away from
his mother. He was beginning to lose his patience. “You want me to stay with a man who lies and cheats and treats me like garbage all because he’s Chinese and has money?”

“What wrong with that? You fag! You no give me grandkids. Least you can do is be with someone who make my life easy.”

Alfred turned and stormed for the door.

“If you leave, no come back!”

He didn’t dignify that with a reply. At that moment, all he wanted to do was throw his head back and scream until the sky cried black. His mother was always vain, superficial. But for her to suggest he remain with a man who broke him in all the worse ways…well, Alfred didn’t know if he could ever face her again.

He rode the elevator down and was breezing through the lobby when he heard the guard’s voice.

“I told you,” he shouted to Alfred. “That woman will kill you.”

Alfred’s only reply was to wave over his shoulder before pushing his way out the front door. He sucked in a lungful of air as he jogged across the street back to his vehicle. In his car, he slammed the door and banged his fists onto the steering wheel until his wrists were sore. But not a tear fell. A part of him kept stressing he should have known better. Why he expected her to be a mother at that point was beyond him. With a heavy heart, Alfred left his mother’s house and went to work. While there, his mood deteriorated. He took a few breaks in the bathroom. Each time, he would lock himself in a stall and pressed his forehead into his arm.

“Al, come on,” Baxter shouted after the bell chimed for the millionth time. “You’re slacking today. Order up!”

Alfred tucked his notepad into his apron pocket and rushed to the counter. “Sorry, okay? Sorry.”

He lined the plates on his arms and hurried back to the large table of six sitting by the front glass. He was careful to set the right plate in front of the correct person. “Anything else for now?”

  “Ketchup?” the little boy asked.

“Sure thing, bud,” Alfred said, glancing around. He snagged a bottle from the only empty table in the room and set it before the child. Once the boy picked up the ketchup, Alfred focused on a table that had just been vacated by a businessman.
