  Two hours later, he rose from the floor, as if he was in a daze. He went straight to his kitchen table, flipped open his laptop and turned it on. Next, he opened up a blank page and began typing. Several minutes and deletions later, he was still to complete a paragraph. He cursed out loud and banged his palm against the table so hard that it almost split the skin of his palm. The pain caused a shift within him and, once again, he saw tiny, glittering specks coalesce before him into what he could only describe as hieroglyphs. But how could he read and understand these hieroglyphs?

  Again, the same peace and serenity he felt earlier at the end of his convulsion swept over him. This time, the feeling brought a clearer understanding of what had just happened to him. He had received a message, from where, whom or what, he had no idea. However, he knew exactly what he had to do. He flexed his shoulders, cracked his knuckles and began typing.

  He described himself as a purveyor of purpose and had, therefore, given himself a purpose….
