Fish nodded and said, “Who is that?”
Fork said slowly, “Dani was an operator for our team when we were in the military. No one could have known she was connected to us unless they had somehow broken into military top secret files. Angela Reyes was sending us a message that she can get to anyone we care about.”
“How close were you to Dani?” Fish asked, wondering what was going on. He saw Jack-Jack and Slick shift. “What?”
Slick grimaced. “There was a time that Jack-Jack and I wanted to claim her. She wanted to remain in the military, make a career out of it, and so we let her go.”
Fish nodded and said, “Ahhh.”
“Regardless, we are going to need to find her sister,” Creed said, and Fork nodded.
“Yeah, that is not going to be pretty, if I remember correctly she was a bit of a ball buster.”
Creed sighed. “She was protective of Dani; never met her, only heard stories.”
Jack-Jack coughed. “We met her and trust me, ball buster is being nice. But she cared about her sister.”
“I will call her,” Slick said and pulled out his phone. Everyone was silent as they watched him push in numbers.
“Oh, he still has her digits…” Boo whispered, and the women all nodded.
“I think there is more to the story there…” Freedom said and then Rain leaned around.
“You know, I remember when they got back, Jack-Jack and Slick were both broken up about a woman, took them forever to even approach another one.”
Fish rolled his eyes, God, he missed this gossiping bullshit the women did. He used to laugh and tease them about how in the hell they learned some of the shit they did know. They were good at spying, and Fish knew that. Since she was young, Harmony always listened in when she wasn’t supposed to.
“Dammit, Gypsy, I am trying to tell you something,” Slick yelled, and they all stopped and stared.
Fish waited with the rest of them as Slick talked quietly into the phone, and when he finally hung up, Jack-Jack moved closer, and Slick whispered something. Jack-Jack barked in surprise, “What the fuck are they doing here?”
Slick looked around the room, and then he said, “Boony?”
Boony nodded and said, “Yep, whatcha need, my man.”
“Did you send someone to help the Furies?” Slick asked, and Boony grinned and nodded.
“Hell yeah I did, I sent Shadow. Shit, he smokes more pot than I do, but he is hell on wheels with a computer.”
Slick looked up at the ceiling. “Do you know who the fuck he is associated with?”
Boony frowned and said, “No club if that’s what you are asking.”
Slick shook his head before he said, “Seriously? Did you not do a check on him?”
Boony shrugged, and he said, “Hey, I abided by the code of a hacker. I made sure there was no heat that would come down on the Furies. Shadow is solid, has a fucking higher clearance than everyone in this room.”
“Really?” Slick asked. “Really? ‘Cause he has that clearance because of who he worked with dammit.”
Boony frowned. “Who is that?”
Slick sighed and looked at Creed and Fork. “He is the mascot of the Satan’s Sisters.”
Shady laughed loudly, “Are you fucking kidding me?”
“Who are the Satan’s Sisters? And why the hell would anyone call themselves that?” Harmony snapped and put her hands on her hips. “I mean, we called ourselves the Lady Riders, that is like classy, and not psychotic at all.”
Creed ran a hand down his face and looked at his woman. “Harm, come on.”
“What? I’m just saying; they were somehow involved in helping the Furies, why the hell would you trust them, that name alone is a reason to decline their help. What do they do? Cut the heads off live chickens as a sacrifice. I, for one, am not going to deal with this crazy shit,” Harmony yelled, and she grabbed her stomach. “Damn, I need nachos.”
“Dani is the sister of a Satan’s Sisters,” Slick announced, and Harmony froze from reaching for her purse.
“What?” Harmony whispered and then looked at her men who shifted uncomfortably. “Did you know this?”
Fork nodded slowly and said, “Dani was our operative.”
“With connections to a psycho bitch club? Do we not have enough fucking crazy going on right now? Hell, we have Angela who wants to kidnap Jas and kill Shady, we have Rebel who is lovely but her family is on their way here right now, and they call themselves the Blood Eagles. Do you know what that is? I do, I looked it up on the net, it was used only two times in history, at the time of the Vikings. They cut down between your ribs until they can grab your lungs, they pull them through and flop them on the person's back and wait while they die. Seriously, this is not a normal name; we are the Ops Warriors and the Lady Riders, there is no raping and pillaging associated with our name, there is no Satan and shit. Come on, what the fuck people, we seriously need to have a discussion about what is allowable and what is not. Dad? Can you take me to the 7-11 to get nachos, please? I really need them right now,” Harmony said and glared at her two men. Fish just smiled and shook his head, yeah, he didn’t need to be involved in this.
“Hey,” Shady said, grabbing her purse and slinging it over her shoulder. “I am coming as well. Let the men figure this out, they got themselves into this mess.”
Creed growled and said, “Woman, do not—”
Shady turned quickly, and all the Lady Riders sucked in a breath and reached out to make sure they steadied her. “Excuse me?”
Creed glared at her and said, “Shay, listen, Dani…”
Shady shook her head. “I know she meant something to you; I am not arguing that. But Harmony is right, we have a lot of shit going down right now, and I don’t think we can take on more.”
“Even if your mother is the one responsible?” Slick fired back, and Shady jerked like she had been struck.
“And there it is,” Shady said softly and turned to look at Fish. “Please take me with you?”
Fish nodded slowly; they needed to diffuse the situation. There was no way this was healthy, the stress in the club was palatable. “Come on, honey,” he whispered, and she held her head up and moved. The rest of the Lady Riders followed them as Creed swore and yelled for them to stop. Fuck, this was not going to end well for him, Fish thought. He turned and looked and saw all the Lady Riders with their fingers in the air, flipping their men off. Shiiiitttt, he thought and looked at Creed who gave him a head nod, well it was something.
Chapter Two
Doc rolled over on her stomach when the phone rang and almost groaned. Fucking A. She had only been asleep for a few hours. “Yeah,” she said into the receiver with a moan.
“Pres, we have a situation,” Maverick snapped. Mav was her Vice, and was also another pilot. In their crew, there were three of them, Mav, Tats, and her, which was saying a lot since they were all females and they served together for all four tours.
“Yeah, okay, what is it?” Doc yawned and said, “If someone wants a tour, they are gonna need to wait; I can’t fly like this.”
After Doc and the other Sisters got out together. They decided to open their own business because at one time or another each of them had been fired because they refused to be told by a snot-nosed little kid what their job was. It sucked to be in the military and get out only to not be able to deal with working in the real world. No one had integrity anymore, it sucked. People didn’t give a shit; they only wanted to get a paycheck and ignore everything else.
So, they struck out on their own and bought a company from a man named Jimmy Hines, who wanted to retire. It was an aerial tour company that had four Helios, and many other things already set up. The women had trained for months with Jimmy and then finally took over. Doc and her friends had been proud of what they accomplished, and when their company began to flourish, they had finally felt like they were building something. The town they settled in wasn’t huge, but it was within distance of all the major
cities in California. It was a nice change from the eastern portion of the country. The only drawback was some of the customers were famous, and thus wanted special treatment. That didn’t work for any of them, they had always treated people the exact same, from the General to a Private. Basically, either the customers sucked it up or they hit the road. The Sisters were in charge, like always.
The women had always loved motorcycles. Marbles and her twin, Jacks, had been raised in a club. The freedom they were raised with appealed to all the women, and the first thing they all bought was a Harley with their first real paychecks. Then they created Satan’s Sisters club; there wasn’t really any doubt of their name, it was who they were. Always had been.
All of them taking their days off and riding through the countryside of Seaside, California. It was in upper Cali, and honestly, the area was nice, but most of their business came out of southern Cali, which made them think about moving, but as of yet, they hadn’t put it to a vote. That was until one of them did a little recon of the area. Doc had already planned on looking here when she woke up a little more.
“Doc, it is not a tour,” Maverick said softly, and Doc sat up, she knew that tone. When her Vice was talking softly, she was trying to soften the blow of bad news. Fuck a duck.
“What?” she asked.
“It’s Dani,” Maverick said, and Doc closed her eyes. Dani was Gypsy’s younger sister, hell, she was all their younger sister. Most of them didn’t have a family left, and if they did, the families were lowlifes they wanted nothing to do with. Dani had enlisted after Gypsy, and she had been a damn good operator for the elite soldiers in all branches of the military.
“Tell me,” Doc said, bracing herself. Dani had been withdrawn after she had gotten out of the military, Gypsy was worried about her, they all were.
“Five days ago, she disappeared completely. Gypsy has been looking everywhere for her since they were supposed to be getting together for dinner. Gypsy was going to have it out with her, tell her she needed to find something to anchor her, a new purpose, and the Sisters were going to help her. None of us got worried, ‘cause you know she has done this a few times, just needing to get her head on straight. But then last night Jack-Jack called,” Maverick said.
“Jack-Jack? Like Ops Warriors’ Jack-Jack?” Doc snapped, and she heard her second hesitate for a moment. “What the fuck did he want? Dani was a mess after he and his buddy dumped her.”
“Yeah, well, uh, I know that, but apparently somehow the Ops are involved in this,” Maverick said.
“Involved as in, they are fucking with her again? ‘Cause if that’s the case, I happen to be close by those fuckers right now, and I will fuck them up,” Doc growled. “I should have known when Shadow said Boony was involved with the Ops that everything would be a fucking piece of cake.”
Maverick sighed, “Yeah, well, they aren’t the ones fucking with her, but they are the reason she is hurt. Gypsy said apparently an enemy of the Ops found out that Dani was their operator. From what we can figure out, she was taken from her apartment sometime in the middle of the night on Friday. She was dumped in front of the Ops compound on Tuesday in San Diego. According to them, Dani got the shit kicked out of her and hasn’t woken up yet. It’s been two days. Like I said, not sure about the who’s and why’s, but we are on our bikes, and we’ll be there in eight hours.”
Doc stood up and growled into the phone, “I am on my way to the compound now.”
She hung up the phone and grabbed her jeans, tank top, and boots. Someone was pounding on the door just as she finished tying her laces. She yelled loudly, “Hang on.” Doc stood and grabbed her leather jacket and opened the door. Marbles and Shadow were standing there looking pissed as shit.
“I got us bikes,” Marbles growled.
“Not fucking around here, Doc, if Boony set us up, I will take his ass out,” Shadow said, and Doc nodded and stepped out onto the landing.
“I will be right behind you,” Doc said grimly, and the three moved to the Harleys that were all gleaming black. Once they were on the bikes, Doc turned to them and nodded, “Let’s go kick some ass.”
They had just pulled back into the compound, and Fish was laughing at the Lady Riders singing along with the radio. Honest to God, he missed this shit. Finally, he was back where he belonged, with his blood family, and his club family.
“OHHHHHH YOU GONNA TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT,” Harmony sang loudly and really off key, Fish thought and shook his head when the others joined in as well. Damn it all to hell, he wasn’t going to be the one to tell his daughter her singing was fucking scary. Hell, they could make a tape for Halloween and scare the shit out of people, it sounded a bit more like screeching than singing. The others were close to being that bad too. He needed a shot of whisky about now, it may dull the pain in his ears.
He pulled the large car right next to the other one Trey was driving; the Prospect had been assigned to help him get the women to and from the 7-11. Damn, and if watching Trey and Jas dance around wasn’t entertaining enough, someone should video the pregnant women in a store full of snacks to see how they chose to fill their cravings, it was totally amusing. If the poor cashier hadn’t run to the back and brought out another box of Rolos, there could have been a riot. They were sugared up and ready to roll, he thought, shaking his head as he turned off the car. The windows were down, and the Lady Riders in the other car leaned out their window as well and sang the song together. Damn, they seriously sucked, he thought and got out of the car.
Fish looked over the hood at Trey who was grimacing and looked like he was ready to find a bunch of ear plugs and walked away. He grinned when he saw Jas flip him off behind his back. That girl needed a keeper, he really was going to need to talk to Cajun and Slider about her. Fish frowned and turned when he heard the roar of motorcycles behind them. The other Prospects who were guarding the women had already pulled in. He saw the three bikes pulling up to the gate as he moved to stand in front of the back door that had just opened and Shay was trying to get out.
“Stay there,” Fish growled to the woman who was trying to pull herself out.
“Dammit, Shay,” he heard Freedom yell from in the car. “I am trying to push your pregnant ass out of the car.”
Fish glared over his shoulder and said, “I said stay there.”
“Yeah, yeah, old man, don’t get your panties in a wad,” Shay grumbled and leaned back. “Sorry, Free, the powers that be say I have to stay here.”
Fish watched as the three riders swung off their bikes; two women and one man, he squinted a little, not knowing any of them. Moving, he walked a few steps out and stared at the woman who was in the front. Goddamn, she was sexy as hell. He stared at her long black hair and tight trim body. She wasn’t old, but she wasn’t young either.
When the woman he was staring at suddenly yelled loudly at the Prospect who was shaking his head, Fish shook his head and went to step forward. But Shay and Harmony were faster, and both were out of the vehicles and moving with intent to the gate. Apparently, when shit was going down, the pregnant women didn’t need help out of the car, their anger took care of that. However, they were a sight to see when they were pissed, add in being pregnant. Fucking priceless.
“Dammit, Harmony,” he growled.
“What in the fuck is going on here?” Shady snapped as they neared the gate. Both women turned and stared at the pregnant woman who was stomping toward them wearing a black tank top that had the Lady Riders patch on it.
Harmony raised her hand when the woman behind the one who looked like the leader opened her mouth, and said, “Button it, blondie, Shay wasn’t talking to you, she was talking to the other bitch here.”
The large breasted woman stepped forward and pointed at Harmony, “You did not just call Doc a bitch?”
Harmony crossed her arms over her chest and smiled. “Uh yeah, pretty sure I did if that is the bitch’s name, bitch.”
Fish walked up shaking his head and said, “Harmony, get your ass
back into the clubhouse. You too, Shay, Creed and Fork will come and deal with this.”
The dark-haired woman that the blonde called Doc narrowed her eyes at him and pulled her friend back and stepped up. “Listen, I don’t give a shit what the fuck you want to call me since I don’t particularly care about your opinion. But I do give a shit you have my sister in there. So, open your fucking gates and let me take her and I will forget what a raging cunt you’re acting like.”
Harmony jerked her head back, and Shady stepped in front of her friend. “Be very careful who you call a cunt,” she said in a low, dangerous voice. Doc stared at Shay and then said just as low and just as deadly.
“Like I said, I don’t particularly care what you cunts say about me. You have one of my sisters, and you seriously do not want to piss me the fuck off, it would be bad. ‘Cause I don’t give a shit if you are waddling away, I will kick your ass from here to hell. Not fucking around with you, open the goddamn gate, NOW!”
Fish growled and tried to pull Harmony and Shady behind him as he stepped up, but both women were straining to get to the woman. “Trey, open this fucking gate. I am not waddling anywhere, cunt,” Harmony snapped, and Fish shook his head.
“Trey, do not listen to them, keep that fucking gate closed.”
Shay looked over her shoulder at Fish and said, “Seriously? Do you not think I can kick this bitch’s ass even though I am pregnant? I mean, come on, it would be easy.”
“Please,” the blonde yelled. “Your fat ass wouldn’t land a punch.”
Shay turned back quickly, and she snapped, “Did you just say I had a fat ass?”
“Fuck yeah I did,” the blonde said. “Now, be a good little whore and get the men out here, we need our sister back, like now.”
The man stepped up to Trey and said, “Dude, can you get Boony out here, he will know what the hell is going on. ‘Cause if you don’t, these women will tear apart this club until there is nothing left. They are serious, and I gotta tell you, so am I.”
Harmony pulled her head back and said, “Boony? What the fuck does he have to do with this? Are you guys his drug dealer? ‘Cause I can tell you to get the fuck out of here, Boony has a family now; he doesn’t do that shit.”
