“I know, Bunny. I know. But we didn’t, and it’s all thanks to you. You found him. You saved him.”
“I didn’t. I just beat up my former friend and you guys did all of the hard stuff,” she replied. “And I guess I helped assault a few security guards.”
“Which definitely needed to happen, and I’m very grateful you were there for,” he replied. “For real though, we never would have known that Matt was down there without you. He probably would have died down there, and then there would be hell to pay. The rest of us probably would have died trying to avenge him.”
“Why? I mean, I get why you’d be devastated, but why would you die too?” she asked. “You all seem pretty capable.”
“Yeah, but we’re not the most logical all the time. That’s Matt’s job.”
The cryptic answer left her with more questions than anything else, but he silenced her with a kiss.
“Don’t worry about it. It didn’t happen and everyone is fine, thanks to you. Even if I didn’t love you before last night, I definitely would now. You’re amazing.”
“Thanks. You’re not so bad, yourself.”
“Mallory? Where are you?” The raspy voice came from the other room.

Well… I had originally planned to end this with a love scene with Nico, Mallory and Matt, but as usual, characters decided to do their own thing.
