I was that girl.
Until I wasn’t.
Sometimes the best families are the ones you create, not the ones you’re born into. I never knew what true family was like until I had one thrust upon me out of the blue at the age of eighteen. Unlike my mother and sister, I finally found people who wanted me and cared about me. It took the revelation of one secret to change my life forever. I was no longer the pauper; I was the princess.
Then J.D. Hallstead came barreling into my life. He was everything I never thought I wanted, but everything I craved. That is, until the day he destroyed every part of my heart and left it to burn to ashes in his wake. What is the old adage? The flip side of love is hate. Well, my hate burns bright and it has a name: Jackson Dillon Hallstead.
J.D.
I was that guy.
The one who played football.
The one voted class president and most likely to succeed.
The one that girls went crazy over and guys wanted to be.
The one who ruled the school.
The one with tattoos.
The one with a horrible secret.
I was that guy.
Until Aurora.
Until she became that girl.
Aurora was the one girl I always wanted but never could have. It took a tragedy to bring us together. It took my secret to tear us apart. Aurora once told me everybody leaves. I told her I never would. I lied. Now I will give anything, do anything, to get her back.
That Girl is a standalone, small town, sports, second chance novel that takes place after the conclusion of Broken Butterfly, Fallen Brook Series, Book 3. Fans of the Fallen Brook Series will love seeing some of their favorite characters return! Due to mature content, it is recommended for ages 17+.
About the Author
Jennilynn Wyer lives with her family along the Gulf Coast and has been an avid reader of romance novels ever since she discovered Nora Roberts as a teenager. After the birth of her child, she retired from her academic career to become a full-time mom and has never looked back.
For the past decade, she has taught gifted students, contract writes for educational textbook companies, mentors young people in various fields of science, is a guest presenter and speaker, and heads the educational and research program for a local non-profit that works hard to support the environment and native ecosystems.
If she’s not teaching, presenting, or out in the field doing research, you can usually find her in her favorite reading spot, e-reader in hand, with the latest romance novel. Or teasing her husband mercilessly.

Tattoo Confessions
A letter to readers (unedited)
Dear Reader,
Thank you so much for reading Paper Stars Rewritten. 2020 has been a crazy year, but a great time for me to write since I have been stuck indoors like many of you. I hope you have found an escape from all things COVID when reading the Fallen Brook series. So many of you have reached out to me and I love reading your comments and messages. I hope that, for all the very vocal Team Ryder fans out there, Book 2 did not disappoint! Get ready for Broken Butterfly, Book 3, and the conclusion to the Fallen Brook series. It will release June 1, on Amazon, Kindle, and Kindle Unlimited. Buckle your seatbelts and get ready for all the twists, turns, and surprises that are coming your way. Think you know how Elizabeth's love story ends? I promise you are in for a surprise, and maybe a few tears too!
I have so thoroughly loved writing these characters and I feel like they are a part of my family now. Even though I did my due diligence in researching the topics I delved into, particularly the medical sides of things, I did take some liberties when writing certain scenes in order to tell the story.
Now for my Thank Yous. A huge thank you to my husband who has been a great support to me. I appreciate the weekends you allowed me to hole up in the study to write. Thank you to my son who became a huge fan of this series and for your encourgement and insights. Thank you to my Beta Girls, - Julia, Lisa, and Landi - who kept me in stitches with their humor and animated text messages. Thank you to Elle at My Brother's Editor for her excellent job as copy editor for this book. Thank you to all my family and friends who have my back - you know who you are! And thank you, Reader, for supporting independent authors like myself.
Don't forget to mark your calendars for the release of Broken Butterfly, Fallen Brook Series, Book 3 (June 1, 2021) and That Girl, my new standalone novel coming out November 2021.
