Instead by the fourth week of pregnancy her belly was swollen high, like a basketball. It was perfectly round. She could barely sleep from the constant moving her babies were doing.
The bugs took care of her well, but only for the children she knew. They fed her honey and brought her water. They ignored her mostly as she waddled down the halls to visit the other ladies. Only at night did her son seek her out. Crissy welcomed it. Even though in the mornings she cried for allowing him to do the things he did. She looked forward to it, even now as she waddled down the cave. Her belly grew so distended it was again purple. Her lower back screamed in pain. But that night when the beast would come to where she slept….Crissy would welcome it.
The clothes she wore were in tatters by the second month of pregnancy. Her stomach had dropped six inches while the giant twins she carried prepared for the birthing process. Until the next morning. Things were different when the first waves of morning sickness hit and she was forced to nurse her new twins six times a day. Time with her first born was few and far between. By day three she was visibly pregnant again.
Crissy became so much bigger with each pregnancy she was immobile. She laid on the floor, her monstrous belly soring high in the sky. It moved like a series of giant cats fought beneath a blanket and all she could was wait for a bug to come to service her.
She remembered being pretty, idolized by other girls now her body was stretched to new proportions that she couldn’t even fathom pretty clothes or being married to a man.
Her face was wet with tears when the bug returned to the lair. Crissy put her hands on her soaring stomach. “Is this all I am now? A breeding machine? A sex craved lunatic?”
The bug nodded, his head low to the ground. He seemed to feel bad about it.
Crissy smiled up to the ceiling, feeling the first rocks of a contraction. She spread her legs, welcoming the bug into his spot because she could no longer reach. “So be it.”
