Licking my lips, I turned my head to look at him. “So, you thought you’d take pictures of us having sex?”
“If they’re terrible, I’ll delete them all. But I wanted you to see how sexy you are when you come. And I maybe wanted them just for me.” He smirked. “Where are the keys? I’ll get you unchained, and we can look.”
“Just know, turnabout’s fair game, and I could think of a few pictures I’d want of you in handcuffs.” I rose up off him slowly, careful of my balance in the cuffs, and I watched as he went to get the keys from on top of the dresser. He looked damn good naked, and I didn’t mind staring at all. “How did I get so lucky, finding you?”
He turned, his cock still semi-hard and glistening from our round of sex, and grinned. “Believe me, Helena, I’m the lucky one.”
As he uncuffed me and we crawled into bed, I leaned against his chest, looking at all the photos he took, not just of us having sex. It was like seeing myself through his eyes, through his love.
With him wrapped around me, his ring on my finger for real, I felt worthy of my namesake. I felt like the most beautiful woman in the world. And I was completely in love with my artist.
My Mr. Wright.
Epilogue
Neil
Watching my baby sister give birth to her daughter without the man she loved by her side left me feeling raw about life. I’d lost my best friend, who happened to be in love with my sister. They were both too young to have anything like love figured out, but if I was ever going to believe in it, it would’ve been with those two.
When a car bomb took my leg and left my sister without her love, my niece without a father, and me without my best friend. I was left shredded in the aftermath with more guilt than I could handle. If it had been me instead, my best friend would be alive, Cordelia would have a father, and Rachel would have her happily ever after.
Love was never on the docket for me. Not after everything I’d been through. I couldn’t sleep. The only thing that kept me grounded was my family. And I was pretty much an unbearable asshole.
Except when I was working at the shelter. It was the only place I could find quiet solace and put all my guilt to work by helping others who really need it.
I hadn’t been expecting her. She just showed up in my life completely uninvited. Except, my parents hired her when I found myself in a position no one expected, least of all, me.
The woman is unbearable and she’s living in my house. I’m going to have to fire her. This will never work. She has to go.
Except…it turns out, I do need her.

Dear Reader,
I hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know Gio as much as I enjoyed writing him!
From the moment we started planning out the Wrights family, Gio was a bit of a mystery. We knew we wanted him to be an artist, but he hadn’t spoken to either of us as much as some of the other Wright siblings did.
So, when I got started plotting his story, I was surprised at how easily he came together as a character for me. I hadn’t initially planned on having him be deaf, but sometimes characters lead you down paths you wouldn’t expect. I sincerely hope I did his story justice and presented hearing loss and the deaf community as accurately as I could.
I’d like to send a special thanks to Zoey Indiana, an author friend of ours who writes dystopian and paranormal romance, for talking to me for hours about Gio, and helping convince me to go for it!
If you can’t get enough of Helena and Gio, join our newsletter and get a free prequel with Dick and Donna Wright, and an extra “after the happily ever after” Bonus Epilogue for Gio and Helena.
