“NIC, HELP!” I yelled, as Nic kept the henchman from finishing us off. “THERE’S NO PULSE!” I cried, thumping down on his heart. With every compression, blood spurted out of his gaping wound. All I could see was red. We were both covered. Light streamed out of my hands. Nothing worked. I’d healed people before! Why won’t it work!

He was too far gone! But how? He was immortal; a stitch in time that never unravelled. He couldn’t die! Fuck, how could an immortal die? “WHAT WAS ON THAT BLADE?” I yelled, screaming at the beast that had thrown it.

Nic pulled him to the ground, crushing his head under his foot. Bending down, I punched him and slashed the blade at him. “WHAT’S ON THIS?” I yelled.

He laughed. I punched him again. My knuckles bled from the impact. My body was tense, teeth gritted. “WHAT THE HELL WAS ON IT?” I yelled, partly slicing his throat with it.

He gurgled. “The Reaper's Blades, bitch. She coated all the weapons with it.” I dropped the blade and fell to the ground beside Lucian, as Nic finished the beast off.

There was no hope left. I was alone. She could kill us all now. What was I without Lucian? He was gone. My bottom lip quivered as I buried my face in my hands. Tears streamed down my face. He was really gone. Sobbing into my hands, I felt the anger boil within my veins. Teeth clenched, I tensed. With balled fists, I stood up, stretching out every bone in my body. I couldn’t keep it in any longer. I screamed. Light roared out of me. My hands were set alight as I gripped my hair, pulling my mind open. Fireballs shot out, light bled from my veins, darkness swarmed as an array of dancing colours blended together forming a vortex of nothing but pure energy. Swarming around and around, the colours blurred and my screams took over, my eyes bled as my mind began to convulse. Howling in pain, I cried. My mortal figure was too frail to survive the explosion. Death took my soul as the vortex took out every living creature within a fifty-yard radius. Nic was out cold. Adam had stopped mid battle. Lilith was jaw dropped as her troops fell to the ground. I fell with them, kneeling beside my dead lover. No-one could survive my pain. No-one could come out free from such anguish. My love had died, his skin had greyed, and his soulless eyes had frozen in fear as his final tear fell to the ground beside our cold dead bodies.

  CHAPTER 130: THE CHILDREN

“Mama” Malek said as he reached forward and took my hand.

“Daddy,” Hope said as she kissed her dead father goodbye.

“It’s time,” they said as they placed their hands on my temples. My fleeting life drained freely from me and my powers diminished. All essence of humanity bled out as my children took my pain into themselves.

“Okay now,” Malek said as he lifted my chin up to face him. Hope bent down and kissed my forehead as I fell to the floor, taking my last breath, and watching them cast their magic as the guardians watched from above.

  CHAPTER 131: TAYLOR

The end. Well that’s what it should say. That’s what should have happened when my children drained the pain from me. It was, after all, the end of my life, the end of all suffering. But that wasn’t all they did that day. That day they ended everything. They worked with the guardians and brought balance back to the world. I watch them now and then. I see them in the pool of reflection as I live with my love in the land of heaven’s own Elysium. Both dead but smiling about it. Many fell that day, hardly any survived. But those that did were banished; cast down to the darkness or freed up to the light, never to step foot on Earth again. It was hard, though. It meant I wouldn’t see my children again. But they were free, living their life, and they wave up to me when I’m watching them. Jeez, they’ve grown. They were repairing the world, putting it back together piece by piece, bringing love and life back to the land. Even Malek had warmed to the side of light once again, Hope having taken some of his darkness. Between them, they were the true neutrals, the start of something more, and I’m proud of them. We couldn’t end the war, but they did, and the world would live again because of that.

As I sit here by Lucian’s side, we watch them. They wave goodbye, smiling as they skip through the world, creating a land of magic, a place of mystery, and a wondrous site where hopes and dreams could come true. They are the first on their land, the start of something new, breathing life back into the world before the touch of humanity destroyed it, and then the touch of the gods destroyed them. The cycle has ended, life has begun, and the world will live once again. So here is not to the end; here is to the beginning.

  What difference will you make?

  AUTHOR’S NOTE

Thank you for reading the final book in The Celestial Rose series. I hope you enjoyed all four books, as much as I enjoyed writing them. I would really love it if you could leave me feedback on Amazon. Think of it as leaving a tip after a nice meal.

As with all new authors, reviews mean the world to me. It keeps me going, helps me strengthen my writing style and help’s this series become a success. If you enjoyed Eternal Ending, please take a moment to write a brief review – just a few words like “I liked it” is great. It makes all the difference!

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Annalee Adams was born in Ashby de la Zouch, England. Annalee spent much of her childhood engrossed in fictional stories. Starting with teenage point horror stories and moving on up to the works of Stephen King and Dean Koontz. However, her all-time favourite book is Lewis Carroll’s, Alice in Wonderland. Which explains her mindset quite well.

Annalee wrote her first published piece, a poem, as a teenager in high school. After which her short story about a werewolf on the Yorkshire moors was published in the college newspaper. Since then she continued to write for her own pleasure until her first book ‘Eternal Entity’ was released.

Annalee lives in the UK with her supportive husband, two fantastic children, little dog, and kitten. She’s a lover of long walks on the beach, strong cups of tea and reading a good book by candlelight.
