I finished chewing, swallowed, and opened my mouth wide like a baby bird waiting to be fed by its mother.

Ricky chuckled, “You’re like a hungry little bird, aren’t you?” He fed me a spoonful while talking. “Now you asked about the relationship between the Kingmaker and the King and Queen of Islandia…well, the Isle of Arcadia is part of the Kingdom of Islandia, a kingdom made up of almost a hundred islands. Arcadia was said to be the most beautiful island. Arcadia was said to be small though, but special…because it was the island where magical creatures lived in the forests, in the waters surrounding the island, and even in the mountain where Kingsbury Castle is built upon.”

I swallowed my spoonful of stew and asked, “So…is that how the Kingmaker got his sight to choose?”

“That was a mystery,” Ricky said. “No one knew where the Kingmaker Kingsbury got his gifts. And when Violet displayed having the gift of sight, too, it was believed it was because the bloodline was special…more special than Kings and Queens."

“Is the gift tied to Arcadia?” I asked. “Do I have to be here for it to work? Do I have to be at Kingsbury Castle for it to work?”

Ricky shrugged. “Don’t know. As far as testing that theory out, no Kingmaker who had to make a choice for a King, had ever stepped outside the Castle to make the Choosing.”

So if I had to choose who to crown King of Islandia between Kaz and Jordan, I would be the first to test that theory.

“And you asked about the relationship between the Kingmaker and the King and Queen of Islandia during Violet’s time,” Ricky said. “They got along well, from some letters I read at the library on Arcadia history. There was mutual respect, because the King of Islandia left Kingsbury free to claim the Island of Arcadia as his neutral ground for all kingdoms to come and take part in the Choosing of Kings. The King of Islandia realized how important it was for the Kingmakers’ powers and legacy to be established and protected.”

“Thank God,” I said. “So Kingsbury had the backing of the King of Islandia.”

“He had the backing of all the Kings in all Kingdoms who had entrusted him to do the Choosing for their kingdoms,” Ricky said.

“The kingdoms entrusted the Kingmaker to do the Choosing? Like a referee or a judge who is neutral and capable to make a wise decision,” I said.

“Yup,” Ricky said. “The Kingdoms who participated in a Choosing wanted it as a way to avoid wars, but to Choose a ruler diplomatically.”

“Amazing!” I said. “They didn’t go the Greek way, but decided to go the Kingmaker way.”

“Well, they still wanted a monarch,” Ricky said. “And the Kingmaker seemed to be a soothsayer, an oracle-like being, that had the same divine right as a King.”

“So…they can make decisions and rules like a king?” I asked.

“They did so by choosing the King,” Ricky said.

“Smart, choosing the King who believed and fought for the same cause as the Kingmaker so the Kingmaker could influence kingdoms…”

“Well,” Ricky said, “the Kingmaker wasn’t going to let someone become King if they were going to abolish the Kingmaker’s role.”

“So great great great great great granddaddy Kingsbury was a politically astute man,” I said.

“If he was your ancestor, I would think he would be.”

Ricky fed me some chicken pot pie that I washed down with fresh cold milk.

Then he fed me some chocolate cake, which he didn’t make, but bought from my favorite bakery in Arcadia…the one even the K3s knew I loved.

“Keep telling me more about the Kingmaker, Violet, Islandia, Rosie, and…”

Oh, Ricky’s hands kneading the sore muscles on my back was heavenly.

I was so full and now so relaxed.

Ricky’s eyes became hooded with desire when he lifted me up and carried me to the guest bedroom where I had stayed in before when I stayed over once. He plopped me down on the soft fluffy bed and began undressing me.

“Tempest,” he said, his voice an octave lower with lust, “When I didn’t hear back from you earlier, I was crazy worried. I thought something may have happened to you, and I wanted to be there to protect you…my God, Tempest, you don’t know how much you mean to me. I thought if something had happened to you, I don’t know what I’d do. I think about you all the time. I…”

Ricky’s voice was faintly audible. I was drifting fast into some kind of dark hole, a rabbit hole? A time warp?

The beef stew was a secret ancient family recipe made for the Kingmaker, to help him with his sight. I was drifting and drifting deeper into that hole…until I was seeing myself in another world or was it another time?

  Chapter 9

  Tempest

I was once again in Kingsbury Castle of Violet’s time, but in a room I had never seen before. The guest room for the King and Queen of Islandia, the Sovereign of the Isle of Arcadia and hundreds of other islands in the beautiful ocean surrounding Arcadia. An eerie chant permeated the room, from a rough and crackling female voice. The chant became increasingly ominous and dark, her voice going lower and lower all while taking on a huskier tone.

“The King of Islandia must die!” the strange mystic who had quietly entered the room announcing herself as Ellabella the Elder, suddenly shouted as she lunged at the poisoned King.

My father shielded the King with his body as Ellabella plunged her knife into my father’s chest.

“No!” I shouted. Running to her, I saw the murder in her eyes as she turned to face me.

“The King of Islandia must die!” Ellabella screamed, her high-pitched voice hurting my ears. “The people decreed it.” She stood in place for a moment dangling the dagger up high as my father’s blood dripped off the pointed tip. She seemed to rejoice in the pain she’d inflicted on the Kingmaker.

I stopped a few paces from her and she suddenly broke from her reverie and charged me, her bloodied dagger held high. “Daughter of the Kingmaker! Lover to the Princes of Islandia! You cannot be the Kingmaker once you love and marry a royal! Kingmakers cannot be yoked by the ones to be chosen. You are their lovers. The Princes that are to be chosen. You have tainted your sight! You shall never choose a new King!”

I wanted to fight, to dodge her blow, but I was frozen by the fear for my father. A thick pool of blood surrounded him.

  “You cannot!” she yelled.

Ellabella was almost on me, but Henry Honeywell jumped in front of me, blocking her path. Henry? My childhood friend, now a young knight always by my side, and a proud fighter within the knighthood commanded by his father Sir Richard Honeywell. Henry looked just like Ricky. When he glanced over at me, he gave me the same puppy dog look of love as Ricky’s look of love for me.

Ellabella’s knife plunged down on Henry, and I shouted for him to get out of the way.

“Tempest! Tempest!” Henry’s voice called out to me. Someone was shaking me.

“No! No, no!” I screamed. “Get out of the way. The knife!”

Something soft, wet and ice cold was licking me. My stomach then my nipples until I was moaning instead of screaming. “Oh, Henry,” I moaned. “Why do you have your tongue on my breasts, devouring them like a starving man?”

“Tempest!” I heard Henry’s voice muttered. “Wake up. It’s me, Ricky! Who the hell is Henry?”

My eyes flew opened, and I looked down. Ricky had an ice cube in his mouth, rubbing it against my nipples. The sensation was incredible.

Ricky noticed my eyes wide awake and made his way up my chest with the ice cube still in his mouth, cooling me down until his mouth dropped the cube in my mouth.

The cool icy water quenched my thirst as Ricky’s cold mouth continued to lick my nipples. I was arching my back when his hot throbbing dick plunged deep into me, thrusting in and out as fast as he could.

“Oh Ricky!” I cried out. “Oh Fuck!”

“Tempest!” He groaned, arching his back as he filled me to the root and came into me. We held each other tightly as we
shared an enormous explosion that rock both of us intensely.

As our body slowly subsided, Ricky kissed me on the lips. “I didn’t know you were going to go into deep sleep so quickly after that meal.”

“I saw how my father, the Kingmaker, was attacked. I saw how my ancestor Violet was almost stabbed by some witch-like woman known as a mystic. Ellabella the Elder. She told Violet she couldn’t become Kingmaker because she loved both the princes who were competing to become King. She would lose her sight as the Kingmaker if she married a royal.”

“So the legend is true,” Ricky said. “You saw the vision of Violet the first time telling you the same thing, so dreaming about it a second time could not be mere coincidence,” Ricky said.

My eyes widened, “that means I can’t marry Jordan or Kaz.”

Ricky said, “So Jordan’s plans to have the Kingmaker as his wife so he could become King, wouldn’t work.”

“I can’t be with either of them…not even Hunter and Ori if I want to be Kingmaker,” I said. “Or I will lose the sight of a Kingmaker.”

  Chapter 10

  Veronica

That Kaz. Thinks he was so smart in declaring Prince Ori as the new Trustee of Kingsbury Prep and the new Head of the Student Body.

Hmm. Ori was super hot, with all those colorful tattoos on his hot well-toned body. I wouldn’t mind sucking his dick once in a while.

Only Ori seemed to be much smarter than just man candy.

He caught me by the arm when I was trying to slip away from the main campus and into the forest.

“Hey, Veronica,” his swoony hot voice said.

My eyes was glued to his dick, wondering how large it could get if I gave him a hand job. Giving him a blow job was a given. Of all the K3s, neither Sabrina nor I had have our mouths on his dick. Why didn’t I ever think of going down on him before?

Maybe it was because I was so into Kaz. My Prince Kaz. He had always been my favorite prince of all princes since we were small.

There was a time long ago when I thought we were friends. My parents and I visited their palace once, and I got bored sitting during one of their grown up meetings. I got up and walked out to the courtyard where the most beautiful boy with blue-black hair and azure blue eyes was playing with a small toy boat in a fountain that had swans shooting water out of their beaks.

I wanted to see his boat, and as I got closer to the fountain, I slipped and almost fell into the fountain, but his small yet strong arms caught me, saving me from falling into the fountain.

I looked into his beautiful blue eyes and fell in love.

Kaz was his name, and he was the crown prince of Islandia, the country next to ours.

I didn’t see him again for years until I entered Kingsbury Prep, and there he was…the sexiest man I had ever seen. But he didn’t even recognize me. He didn’t even notice me.

He had pretty girls hanging all over him and his best friends, Hunter and Ori, every time I saw him. Didn’t he remember saving me? Didn’t he remember the special bond we had?

I tried to get him to notice me, but he never did, until I told my daddy and mommy about how rude he was to me at Kingsbury Prep.

I was Princess to the country whom my daddy said could easily crush Islandia. We had just bought some missiles and positioned them to face their little country, simply as a test.

“So Kaz should be bowing to me, shouldn’t he, Daddy,” I said. “He should be begging me to stop my daddy from destroying their little country, shouldn’t he?” But nooo, he started paying all his attention to that purple-haired Barbie doll fighter name Tempest. Who isn’t even a royal!

Well, if there was something I thought Kaz and I had in common, it was the hate toward non-royals. We were better than everyone else. Kaz and I knew it. When he invoked the Black Envelope on Tempest, I knew I found my soul mate. Of course, it was time for my daddy to threaten their country so Kaz could be mine. Mine. Mine. Mine!

But he broke off our engagement, even got me to have to go back to my dreary palace for a while or get expelled.

Then I found some photos in an envelope in one of my daddy’s desks. A crashed airplane that was once a private jet to some American company. 3 Kings Technology.

Wasn’t that Tempest’s company? Even Sabrina knew that. Sabrina couldn’t stop talking about how amazing their Miracle twirling brush worked.

Since it was the hateful Tempest’s company, I had to look into it. To blackmail her and all that, not that I cared about her at all.

3 Kings Technology made everything, including planes and… weapons.

  My favorite toys.

Turned out my daddy was looking for the newest toys 3 Kings Technology had made. He had tried to buy the toys from them, but they wouldn’t sell it to him. Something about my daddy being a tyrant and me being a crazy out-of-control liability.

When he heard Tempest Ryan, the daughter of the scientists who owned 3 Kings Technology was at Kingsbury, Daddy sent me back to Kingsbury to find her and take her hostage. If she was running 3 Kings Technology now, she would know where the weapons, um, toys were. Then we would get them and become the most powerful fucking people in the world.

And then Kaz would be mine!

“Veronica!” Ori said. “What are you doing dressed like a gardener at the edge of the forests?” He cracked a smile that made his handsome face light up like a sexy fucker. “You getting ready to plow the forest?”

“No, but Ori, now that you’re Head of the Student Body, how would you like to explore my body? Or maybe I can explore yours?” I looked him over, giving him my hungry sultry look that I knew was superhot.

Ori laughed. “Sorry, I’m good,” he said.

Could a guy who just rejected me look hotter than hell right now?

“So, what are you doing here?” he asked.

“Looking at your hot body and wondering if you’d like a quick blow?”

Ori actually blushed. A man blushing as hot as he was would just be hotter.

“No, I’m good there, too,” he said.

“What the fuck?” I exploded. “Are you some kind of freaking monk?”

Ori stopped smiling then and said, “No, I’m good because the woman I’m in love with is enough for me.”

“Let me guess,” I said disgustingly like there was some sticky caramel stuck to my front teeth. “Tempest?”

Ori’s face transformed into some kind of dreamy happy angelic look. For real?

“Well fuck me for even trying,” I snapped.

“You shouldn’t cheapen yourself like that, Veronica,” Ori said. “You’re a princess for God’s sake. You don’t have to suck dick to get attention from guys. The right one will come along and like you for who you are.”

I couldn’t stop looking at this beautiful angelic man with white hair, light blue eyes and the hottest body I had ever seen, aside from Kaz and Hunter’s.

  He totally got me.

“So,” Ori asked again. Not smiling. “Why are you going into the forest?”

I was going to hide my device that showed a neon green beeping light on the map of Arcadia, but Ori’s eyes were already on it.

  “It’s a tracker,” I said.

“I could see that,” he said, reaching out his hand palm up.

I sighed, putting my tracker into his palm.

  “What’s it for?” he asked.

“If I tell you, I’ll have to kill you,” I said. “But I kinda like you now. It’ll be a real shame to have to kill you.”

He was already behind me, his strong forearms around my neck ready to break it, and his other arm yanking my arm up so high, it was about to break.

“What is it tracking?” he asked.

  “Don’t know,” I said.

He pulled my arm higher until it was twisted in pain. I heard a snap and then an excruciating pain shot through my arm.

He was a fighter like Tempest. He could easily snap my arm in two.

“Ooh, Ori,” I cooed, “You’re getting me so
hot now…”

“No way am I touching you there,” he said. “Tell me what this device is, and I might just let you walk away with a broken arm…”

“That easy huh?” I asked. “Fuck…”

He twisted my arm and then it was limp. I couldn’t feel my arm any longer.

He said, “I warned you and gave you a chance. Now tell me what it is or I will break your leg. You know…you tried to kill Tempest so many times, I really don’t give a fuck if you live or die at this point. I think it would be better for everyone if you just…”
