Kalista: The Undead Dating Agency Book 2 Page 5

by Janet Lee Smith

I can’t believe he just asked me that. I’ve never wanted to live with someone I was romantically involved with. Until now. “I would love to move in with you! The sooner the better! This actually works out perfectly. I was going to ask Angela and Madison to move in here with me, but not they can have the place to themselves. As long as they agree to my plan.

“I hope they do, I know you would love to know that they are living in a place where they have everything they need. I know Angela’s house is nice, but I agree with you, I think they’ll be more comfortable here.” He really was the perfect man. I don’t know how I got so lucky to have this man as my mate for the rest of my very long life. “How about we go over there and talk to them?”

Angela and Madison looked up when we sat with them. “Angela, I have an idea I hope you’ll go along with. Madison may think she’s all adult now because she’s this badass hybrid, but she still needs her mom. She’s really happy here, so I was hoping you would sell your house, or rent it out, and move in here with Madison. Constantine just asked me to move in with him, so you two can have the place to yourselves. I own it, so you won’t have to worry about rent.”

I noticed the look on her face and quickly continued. “I’m not giving you charity. You’ll have to pay the bills and buy what you need. I would never want you to think I think you can’t take care of you and Madison. I know you have. The only thing you won’t have to worry about is rent. Of course, if you ever need anything, I’ll be happy to help, and I haven’t had family other than Ollie in hundreds of years, so you’ll have to get used to me giving you both presents. But you’ll take care of you and Madison.”

“I don’t know what to say, Janis. No, I do know what to say. We would love to live here, and we’ll take good care of the place. That’s okay isn’t it Madison?” Madison laughed when her mom said that. “I love it here mom, and I love my room! Of course, it’s okay with me!”

“Then it’s settled! I’ll be moving in with Constantine, and you’ll be moving in here.” Constantine took that moment to clear his throat. “Angela, one of my businesses is reality. I can sell your home for you or rent it out, whichever you prefer. I have a property management company, and any place I rent out, I also provide property management. So, if you decide to go that route, you won’t have to do anything but collect the rent checks.”

“Thank you, Constantine. I think I’ll take you up on that offer. I think having rental income coming in will be helpful, so I would appreciate it if you can rent it out.” “I’ll be happy to do that. I’ll have someone help you move everything that you want to keep out, then you can either rent it with whatever furniture is left, or we can empty it out for you and you can rent it unfurnished. I’ll be in contact with you in a couple of days, and we’ll get it all taken care of.”

Kali walked over to us and sat down next to me. “Janis, I’m going over to Liam’s tonight, and I’ll be back tomorrow for my things. Is that okay?” I couldn’t help but smile at the young vampire. “Of course, it’s okay. I’m happy for you both. Liam, you better take care of my girl here or you’ll answer to me. Am I clear?” “Perfectly, Janis. You know me, I’m going to treat her like the princess that she is. She’ll want for nothing and will feel loved every day of her very long life.”

Everyone slowly started to go to their own homes right after that, and Madison asked Angela if she and Julie could go out. Before long it was just Angela, Constantine, and me. “Janis, if you’d show me to Madison’s room, I’ll go to bed so you and Constantine can have some time alone.”

Constantine answered her before I could. “Angela, there’s no need for that. Janis and I already talked about this. I’m going home tonight so that you and Janis can have sometime to get to know each other. It’s been a long time since you’ve had family other than Madison, and I think it would be great for you two to get to know each other.” Angela tried not to show it, but she had tears in her eyes. She tried to act as tough as I always have. “Thank you Constantine, that would be great.”

  Kalista

I can’t believe I’m so nervous about going back to Liam’s. It’s not like it’s the first time I’ve ever spent the night with a man. But this is so much more than that, and I know it. That’s what’s making me nervous. This is the man I’ll be spending the rest of my life with. My very long life. What if I’m wrong? What if he’s not my mate? What would I do then?

Liam took my hand as he drove down the streets of New York as if he knew how nervous I was. “It’s going to be okay, Kalista. You trust me, right? We belong together, I have no doubt about that. You’re my one true mate. I would bet everything I own on that.” When I looked at him I couldn’t believe the love I saw there. He was right. We are true mates. We’re meant to be together. Once we got to the building that Liam’s penthouse was on the top of, Liam helped me out of the car and gave the keys to the valet.

“Are you ready to see your new home, my mate? If you don’t like it let me know, or if you want to live someplace else for any reason, just let me know. We can live where ever you choose. I want you to love your home, and I want you to feel like it’s as much yours as it is mine. Because it is. When I went to walk to the elevators, Liam took my hand and guided me towards an elevator near the back. He had to put a code into it. Wait, does he have an elevator going right to his penthouse?

Once the elevator landed, the doors did in fact open up into Liam’s penthouse. I knew he was rich, but I don’t think I realized exactly what that meant. “Welcome home, Kalista. And I do mean home. This place is as much yours as it is mine. In fact, tomorrow I’ll be calling Constantine to have your name added to the deed to this apartment. Unless of course you want to live someplace else.” “Constantine? Why would you call him?”

“Constantine is my lawyer and my realtor. He has a few businesses. He may not be as well known as I am, but he’s richer than I am.” Wow, Janis got herself quite the man too. Another gorgeous rich man. We both lucked out in the mate department. “That makes me happy. I love both my sisters, and only want the best for them. I went from having no siblings to have the two best sisters in the world. Life isn’t half bad.”

Liam chuckled and kissed me on the top of my head. “Have I told you how much I love you lately, my beautiful mate? Because one of my goals in life is to never let you forget how much I love you. Now how about we look at your new home, then you can tell me if you want to live here or someplace else.” I looked around at what I could see and thought I would never want to live any where else.

“I can already answer that question, my love. I want to live here. I want this to be our home. Now why don’t you show me around, so we can get to bed.” “Are you tired my mate?” I giggled. Yeah, I giggled again. I guess I have to accept that I’m a giggler. “Yeah, something like that.”
