beside the kids, in their coach seats.

After a short time, the attendant returns and leans in close to Richard. By the end of the conversation, she is leading the Trio forward to first class. She reseats the special passengers.

As the planes speed builds and the front starts to lift, Richard takes Bryce's hand who intern takes his sister's. Gently squeezing his hands Richard smiles and gives them a small tight shake. Bryce smiling from ear to ear just nudges his uncle with his elbow, wrestling for the arm rest.

  SAMANTHA

  (Whispering)

  Uncle, we're being spied on.

  Richard smiles.

The Bags turn up. Richard quickly pulls their luggage from the revolving turnstile, only to find them quickly taken by a porter, giving an extra generous smile and bowing.

The Taxi pulls up outside a traditional Japanese house.

EXT. NISHIMURA'S FAMILY HOME -- CONTINUOUS

As they walk up the pathway a wailing starts, reaching the Westerners approaching the house. Bryce grabs Richard's arm and pulls him to a stop. Richard struggles with his bag and awkwardly places a protective arm around his nervous niece and nephew.

  They continue on gingerly.

INT. NISHIMURA'S FAMILY HOME -- CONTINUOUS

Leaving their bags by the door, Richard leads the kids following the elder towards the building wailing. As they enter the living room they are taken back by the sight of the elder woman being supported. Richard removes the blanket from his back and unrolls it. The swords now laying across his outstretched arms he offers them to Admiral Nishimura's widow. She steps forward and gently takes them from him and sinks to the floor.

She is kneeling on the floor at Richard's feet clutching the swords, mouthing a welcome to her husband.

Richard stands embarrassed and emotional, not knowing what to do, tears streaming from his face. Bryce is standing returning the curious looks from the grandchildren his own age. While Samantha holds her uncle's hand and weeps quietly

INT. NISHIMURA'S FAMILY HOME -- LATER

Richard kneels at the table recounting the story of the swords, from recovery to delivery, over tea. Samantha tries out her Japanese, acting as interpreter. Between her little Japanese and one of Admiral Nishimura's great grandchildren's little English, the storytelling is hilarious.

They’re building a friendship, that no money could buy.
