Adelle looked into his eyes and then kissed him. “Mine too, Gavin, even the ones I didn’t know I had prayed.”

They stood and Gavin took her by the hand. “Let’s go break the news to Cooper and Hattie. We should tell Bob too, he’s going to need to find a new bedrail to crow from.”

Together they walked outside headed for the White’s ranch house and beyond that, their future.

Bob stood at the edge of the crossroads where it had all begun. The place where Penny Ryder at God’s direction had helped Hannah find Henry Wheeler. He didn’t know why but he’d been drawn back to this place where it all had begun. His Creede adventures.

“Hello Bob, you’ve done a wonderful job here in Creede.” The legendary wife of Nugget Nate stepped from behind the Veil of Glory. “Your assignment here in Creede is over. Are you ready for a new one?”

  “COCK-A-DOODLE-DO!!”

Penny laughed. “Well you don’t have to be so excited about it. There’s evil afoot all over and it’s getting worse. The Boss has decided to set you free. Your new assignment is to go where you feel called and do what you do best. Protect, encourage, save the day.”

The rooster tilted his head left and right. “Cluck, Cluck Brawk, Cluck!”

Penny smiled. “Yes Bob, I think that sounds like you are going to have some great adventures. Are you ready to get started?”

The rooster looked back toward the White farm and the couple he’d been protecting. “Brawk?”

“The Knight’s, they’re going to be fine; they’re moving on to their next adventure too, in Paradise Valley, Wyoming.”

Bob shook himself all over and then clucked once more at the woman God had assigned to be his supervisor. “Cock-a-doodle-do!”

“You’re right, time to get to work.” Penny turned and the two started walking forward, the air around them shimmered and then they were gone.

  The End.

  About the Author

George McVey always wanted to be a superhero; sadly, no radioactive storms or animals have been a part of his life. One day while spinning a tall tale for his family, some suggested once again that with all his experiences in ministry, and his imagination, he should be writing books. This time it was like lightning struck him and he decided, why not.

Since then, George has been hard at work using his creative imagination and writing several books. He's still adding to his bibliography to this day. You can find them all on his Amazon.com page. George lives in the wonderful state of Almost Heaven, West Virginia. In a lovely basement apartment with his wife of 31 years, Sheri, and a service dog named Daisy Mae.

If you ever come to visit him, you will probably find him sitting in his recliner or at his desk in the office working on some writing project. If he isn't working on a novel, then he will be working on a short story or blog post. If he isn't doing either of those then he is either asleep or eating, his other two favorite past times.

You can reach him by email at [email protected]. You can also find out more about his books, get a free book, or join his beta readers team to help make the books he sells better at his website http://georgemcvey.weebly.com.
