“Vodka, and a beer.” She moves down to Trick next before I turn to Sage.

“I assume you know what I’m doin’ here. Dragon wants to expand.” Sage nods, taking a long pull from his beer.

“That’s what he said. He said me and you can agree on some things.” Nodding, I grab the shot that was set in front of me. Tossing it back, I grab the beer.

“We can work that shit out. Let’s get to it.,” I grunt.

“How much shit you runnin’, Ghost?” Chuckling, I lean back in my chair. Crossing my legs at the ankle, I take a long pull of my beer.

“A lot. You know Cambridge got hit, right? We took over. You need it–we can get it.” I say. Sage nods, grabbing a new beer.

“That works. How’s drop off work? You wanna run that shit, or should we?” He asks me. Shrugging, I don’t give a shit either way.

“That’s on you, brother. We got the shit, delivery can be included,” Sage laughs. Leaning forward, he rests his arms on the table in front of him.

“Heard word around town, that there’s a little issue with the Columbians.” He enlightens me. My eyes jerk to his. My heart hammering in my chest. How the hell is that out there already?

“Somethin’ like that.” I don’t want to get into details with him. I don’t know what he knows, or how far it goes.

“You need backup, say the word, brother. I don’t like those Columbian fucks. Came in here about nine months back, shot up the old clubhouse. That’s why we’re runnin’ from here. Took out some of our ladies, some good soldiers, too. Luckily, the rest of us were out on a run.” My eyes widen, my mouth hanging open.

“You shittin’ me right now?” Sage shakes his head before taking another drink.

“Nope, sure the fuck not. They hit the wrong motherfuckers. They weren’t even after us. What do they have on you, Ghost?” Swallowing hard, I debate telling him. I don’t need anyone else in my business but if we are going to be working together, he’ll find out soon enough anyway.

“Vernon Miles. You know him?” Sage nods once.

“I was with his daughter a few years back. She left me. Came back recently, tellin’ me we had a kid. She took off, leavin’ me a goddamn note, saying that she would be dead, and I needed to get my son.” Sage lets out a low whistle.

“That’s some crazy shit.” Nodding, I lean forward.

“That ain’t even the best of it. One of my boys went in. He knew some of the security over there. Got my kid out but got spotted. We’re about to go to war with Miles. Not sure how that shit is gonna play out.”

Pulling a cigarette free, Sage lights it up.

“You got your boy back though, right?” I nod before drinking what’s left of my beer.

  “Yep, got him back.”

“Well, that’s good. The war? Not so much, but if we’re doin’ this business together, you got us as backup. We got another chapter up north. You name the time and place, we got you.”

Standing at the gas station filling my bike, Trick watches me.

“Unless you’re a gay, Trick, stop lookin’ at me like that,” I grunt. His laughter bubbles out of him.

“I ain’t no gay, brother. I was just thinkin’... Once this shit’s over with, we need to have a party.” Is he serious? He’s thinking about a party right now?

  “Yeah, about that.”

“I’m serious, brother. I know some girls that work in a strip club a little south of here. Get some new girls in the clubhouse,” He says. What the hell is wrong with this man?

“Trick, we don’t need any new girls in the club and what the fuck you mean you know some girls? Why the hell are we just now findin’ this shit out?” Trick chuckles like it’s all a joke. Where the hell were these girls when we were partying a while back?

“I didn’t know I could bring them over!” He stands there with his hands up in defeat.

“The fuck is wrong with you, man? Did your mom do drugs when she was pregnant with you?” Trick looks confused for a minute before shaking his head.

“I don’t think so... Maybe, though.” Did he really just answer that? I shake my head before pulling my helmet back on.

“You can ask Dragon about your damn party, brother. As far as your strippers, I ain’t interested.” Trick laughs again just cementing the fact, that there is really something wrong with him. I’ve always wondered. He’s really off sometimes. A good guy? Hell yeah. He can watch your back but common sense? That man’s gone. Throwing my leg over my bike, I rev the engine. I want to get back home to my girl and my son. I want to get to know them both before this war kicks off.

I called Dragon and let him know what Sage had said. Dragon was all for having his club and their sister chapter come in for this shit. He’s pulling out all the stops on this.

In the back of my mind, I feel like shit for all of it. The reality isn’t lost on me. It’s my fault that we’re about to go to war. If I didn’t have Melanie mixed up in the club part of my life, we wouldn’t be here. If I was more careful where I was sticking my uncovered dick—I wouldn’t have had Jordan with her. That reality isn’t one I want, though. I love Jordan. I love knowing that he’s going to call me dad one day. I love knowing that I can teach him to play football, and how to ride his first bike.

I wouldn’t give that shit up for the world.

  Chapter 18

“You’re back!” Nessa runs from the front of the building, throwing her arms around my neck. Wrapping my arms around her, I hold her close.

“I was only gone a little while, darlin’,” I say with a chuckle. Her lips press into my neck, making me shiver. This girl is killing my dick, one kiss at a time.

“Meet you inside.” No one listens when Trick walks past. My lips find Nessa’s, and that’s where I’m lost. I devour her mouth, holding tight on her hips.

“Where’s Jordan?” I ask. Pulling away breathlessly, the twinkle in her eyes is pulling me in deeper.

“With Aria. I need you, Ghost.” She needs me, huh? I can do that. Lifting her in my arms, I carry her toward the side of the clubhouse. I don’t see anyone and in this moment, I don’t give a shit either.

“Tell me you don’t have anything on under this shirt.” Growling against her neck, she quivers.

“Not a fucking thing,” She says. Slamming her against the wall, I reach between us. Slowly dragging my fingers through her wetness, she moans.

“That ready for me? Damn, Nessa.” Licking up her neck, I continue to toy with her clit. Her body shudders, she grinds against my fingers.

“You keep that up and I’ll fuckin’ cum in my jeans.” Nessa doesn’t say anything, just keeps wriggling against me. I slide a finger inside of her, working her up even more. I want her sweet pussy wrapped around me but more than that, I want to feel her come undone in my arms. Working her over, her body clenches. I know she’s close.

“No, Ghost. I need you inside of me.” Chuckling at her, I pull back only enough to look her in the eyes.

“I’m pretty sure I’m already inside you.” Nessa smiles but when my fingers wiggle once more, her head drops back.

“Please, Ghost.” Pulling my fingers free, I unhook my jeans, pushing them to the ground. In seconds, I’m inside of her. Fucking her senseless. My hips rotate, touching everything inside of her.

“You feel me, Nessa?” Sucking her neck, I know I’ll leave a mark. That’s good, I want to leave a mark.

“Say it, Nessa.” Biting her neck, she cries out. Half the club probably heard that but I won’t stop. Not when I’m this deep inside of her.

“Yes! I feel you, Ghost. Now make me cum!” Her words push me further and faster until I feel her explode.

  ***

Nessa walks along next to me in a sex induced haze. Her hair’s a matted mess, sticking out all over. She has that freshly fucked look on her face. Yeah, it’s damn near perfect.

“I heard it was a good meet.” Dragon smiles looking between us. Nessa’s cheeks redden, making her that much mo
re hot.

“Stop that, or I’ll fuck you again right here.” I say when I see her blush. Kissing her neck, I wrap my arms around her from behind, holding her against me.

“They will roll in when needed. Sage made that clear when he called.” I furrow my brows, why would he call?

“He wanted to let me know he’s all in.” Dragons says. Giving him a quick nod, he smiles.

“Roc called in to his boy over there, too. Vernon’s gettin’ shit ready. I think we should move Nessa and Jordan over to Devil’s, while we handle this shit. She’s safer there. No one knows about that place.” Dragon says, and I know he’s right. Here it comes. My heart pounds so hard I can hear it in my ears. I know Nessa can feel it slamming in my chest.

She spins around, gripping my face.

“It’s a good idea. You can get some rest before all this shit starts. I’ll take care of Jordan.” Pressing her lips to mine, I can’t help myself. I tangle my hand in the back of her hair, taking it that much further. Nessa pulls away, turning to head down the hallway when Dragon slaps my arm.

“That right there is one good woman!” Dragon says with a smile. I already know that.

“She is. She’s willin’ to step in with Jordan. She’s handlin’ shit really well. It surprises me.” Dragon looks at me strange.

  “Why’s that?”

“I don’t know. Most girls would flip their shit, Dragon. Even old ladies lose it when their men have shit goin’ on, but not her. She’s always so calm, and waitin’ when I get back. I don’t get it. Maybe she isn’t into me as much as I thought.” Dragon laughs before passing me a beer.

“It ain’t even that, Ghost. Sit down. I wanna tell you somethin’.” He says. Walking over to the couch, I drop down, taking a drink. Dragon picks at the label on his bottle before looking over at me.

“Some women, have a heart so big, they never think you’ll fall.”

He stops talking for a second. I wonder what the hell he has running through his head.

“I had a girl when I was younger, before I became the President. She was sweet, perfect in every way. Nessa reminds me a lot of her. She wasn’t into this lifestyle either, but she stood by me. She didn’t care what it was, she was always there. She made my heart slam in my chest. I felt like I would curl up and die without her. When she died—” He stops talking. That same haunted look crossing over his face.

“Shit, Dragon. You never told me that shit. I’m sorry, brother.” He shakes his head, picking the label some more.

“It’s not a past I like to talk about, man. It hurts, to this day, it fuckin’ hurts. I can feel it in my goddamn chest every time I breathe.” I see it all over his face. He hides it well, though. He keeps that mask in place.

“Was it club shit?” I have to ask. Dragon shakes his head.

“No. Car accident. My world crumbled after that. I threw myself into this club. When the bomb went off in the old clubhouse, it killed them all. My mom was the only one that wasn’t there at the time. It was a patch party. She ran home to check on me.” My eyes widen the more he talks. I knew bits and pieces, but this? I didn’t see this shit coming at all.

“Fuck, Dragon! This is crazy, brother.” He doesn’t look over but I know he has more to say. So, I wait. I wait until he’s comfortable enough to speak.

“Like I said, I see a lot of Maggie in Nessa. Hold onto that, Ghost. Women like her are rare.” God, I can’t believe that he lived that hell. Losing his dad was one thing but to turn around and lose his girl, too? That had to kick his ass.

“Love is still out there for you, Dragon.” I say honestly. I watch him bring the bottle to his lips and take a drink.

“Might be, but honestly, I’m not lookin’. There’s not a whole lot of love left in me, Ghost. I see you guys all findin’ love and my heart swells. You guys are my family. I want to see you happy but me? I don’t think I’ll ever get that far again.” Dragon shoves off the couch before walking off.

That was some deep shit he just shared with me. I never knew his girl died in an accident. That’s why he always looks so haunted when talk about shit like that. His pain is clear as day. He lost a lot when he lost her. I don’t want to suffer that same fate.

  Chapter 19

Months go by without a word from Miles. It doesn’t sit well with me either. We’ve made arrangements. We’ve got people in place. So, where the fuck is he? Nessa’s stomach is getting bigger. I love watching it move when the baby kicks or bounces around in there. Sex has become non-existent. Not because she doesn’t want it, either. That woman is insatiable right now. I’m afraid I’ll hurt her, though. I always tease her and tell her that I would poke the baby somehow. She just slaps me and laughs. Jordan has really taken to being here, too. He fits right in. He’s a little biker badass. My little biker badass. The boy is walking a lot better now, too. He keeps my ass in check that much is for sure. I don’t think I’ve ever ran around as much as I have been, these last few months.

“Where you goin’ little man?” I ask. Jordan glances over his shoulder giving me a nasty look. How can a small human have looks like that?

“You better watch that shit,” I say with a smile. Pointing at him, he turns back around and toddles his way down the hallway.

Dragon has been the best uncle. He’s baby proofed the fucking clubhouse. Can you believe that shit?

“I can’t believe he’s runnin’. Look at that little shit. He has a bad attitude like you,” Devil says as he sits on the floor next to me, watching Jordan chase behind his car.

“Give me that.” Taking the controller from my hand, he starts to run the car back toward us. Yeah, we got the boy chasing a remote-controlled car. It’s called family bonding. Jordan turns, running his way back toward us.

“Come on, J. Come see Uncle Devil.” I can’t help but laugh at him. Uncle Devil. One day he’s going to scare the shit out of that kid.

“Uncle Devil? Can you see that shit when he goes to school? Hey, this is my uncle Devil.” Devil chuckles but Jordan’s grin tells you just how much he loves him. Devil drops the controller, scooping him up in his arms.

“Yeah, you love me, don’t you J?” Jordan grabs Devil’s lip ring, damn near ripping it out of his face.

“Oh shit! Strong-ass.” Devil moves Jordan’s hand, but that does little to stop him.

  ***

Angel just took Jordan back to their house for a nap. Aria went with Nessa, to her doctor’s appointment. I wanted to go, but then I wanted to spend some time with Jordan, too. Besides, Aria has been bitching to go with her for a while now. Sitting in the front lobby, I lay back with my eyes closed. I’m enjoying my silent time also when I hear screaming. So much for that little reprieve.

“Dragon! Get those clubs’ up here, now!” Roc runs with Aria in his arms. My chest tightens when I don’t see Nessa.

“Where’s Nessa? She was with Aria!” I roar as Roc takes off down the hallway where I quickly follow.

“Roc! Where the hell is, Nessa?” Aria moans and groans when Roc sets her on the bed.

“They took her, Ghost.” Aria’s words hit me like a brick. All the air is sucked from my lungs. My knees give out, I fall to the floor. Gasping for that precious oxygen, my hand tugs at my hair.

“Get Trick and Mitch over to Devil’s, with Angel and Jordan. Ghost, we’ll get her back.” Dragon’s hand lands on my shoulder but his words are just a blur.

“Clubs’ are on the way. Suit up. We’re goin’ after these motherfuckers!” Dragon’s words play over in my head but I’m frozen in time. They took her, to get to Jordan.

“Ghost, phone call.” Amber’s words are cut short when she comes into the room and sees Aria. Dragon takes the phone from her, I’m still in a daze.

“What the hell do you want?” He growls into the phone. My stomach tumbles. Bile is rushing up my throat.

“Yeah, I know where it is. You hurt her, I’ll kill the boy.” My eyes jerk to Dragon’s, rage bubbling in my chest. Shoving to my feet, I rush hi
m as he hangs the phone up, tossing it the floor.

“Don’t you ever say that shit! I’ll fuckin’ kill you!” Devil yanks me off Dragon, tossing me to the floor.

“Calm the fuck down! You know he won’t hurt that baby. We need leverage to get Nessa.” Devil hollers in my face. The world spins. I feel like I’m drifting out of the universe. My chest hurts. My head spins. What the hell am I going to do?

“She’s having a girl,” Aria’s voice pulls me through the fog that has settled inside my head.

“I’m havin’ a daughter?” My eyes fill with tears as I look over at her. She nods her head slowly, blood trickling from her lip.

  “I’m havin’ a daughter.”

Everything inside of me is tensed up. How did this happen? Why did I let her go alone? I should have sent a fucking prospect. I should have gone with her.

“This ain’t your fault,” Dragon stands in my face with his hands in his pockets.

“Oh, it’s not? Why didn’t I send someone with them? Huh? What the fuck was I thinkin’, lettin’ them go alone?” My screams become louder by the minute.

“You were thinkin’ they were safe. You were thinkin’ of spendin’ time with your son. This isn’t on you, Ghost.” Dragon roars. That’s easy for him to say. It wasn’t his girl and baby that went missing. It was mine. And I know the blame lies with me.

“I should have gone! What kind of fuckin’ man am I?” I ask. I watch the muscles in his jaw clench.

“The kind that knew he needed some time with his kid! Stop bein’ a bitch right now, Ghost! We’ll get her back, and there will be hell to pay when we do.” Dragon’s as pissed as I feel. He turns on his heel and walks away from me. I know I was pushing him, too. I run my hand through my hair before blowing out a breath. Maybe he’s right. I need to stay calm and focused. I need to keep my head straight for her, and the baby. If I lose myself, what good will I be to her?

Walking down the hallway, my stomach trembles with thoughts of what might be happening to her right now. If I get my hands on that son of a bitch, he’s dead. I will enjoy every last fucking minute, watching his life slowly fade from his eyes. Pushing the door open, I walk in quietly. Aria lies in bed asleep. Resting from the beating those motherfuckers put on her. It makes me that much more pissed to see her like this. She didn’t deserve any of this. Her head slowly turns, her eyes fluttering open.
