“I meant what I said. Stop pushin’ me away, Ev. I’ll deal with him, and I will take care of you and Haylee.” The tension between us is palpable.
I need to break that down. I need her to put her trust in me. Hell, I just need her.
Reaching around her I grab and turn the door handle, shoving the door open. I don’t touch her, though.
I make her walk backward, getting into her space.
“Let me take care of you.” The fear is there. I can see it. I hate it, but I see it.
I start pulling my clothes off slowly while she watches.
Taking a step toward her, I pull her shirt over her head. Moving to her jeans next, I slide them down her legs without any protest. I like it when she lets me do what I want.
“Are you gonna let me, Ev?” Gripping her hips in my hands, I slowly walk her backward until the back of her knees hit the mattress.
“Tell me—say you want me to take care of you.” Breathing closely to her ear, she shivers in my hands.
“Ok... I’ll let you.”
Chapter 20
Pushing her back, I watch her body bounce on the bed. She’s so goddamn perfect, like she was made for me. I kneel on the floor at the end of the bed, parting her legs for me. Grasping her ankle, I place it over one shoulder before doing the same with the other. The growl that rips through me could be heard for miles. I’ve never seen anything as beautiful as this. Yanking Ev’s hips, so she’s closer to the end of the bed I can hear her panting, and I haven’t even touched her yet.
“Are you wet for me already?” I ask. Tipping my head down, I slide my tongue between her wetness.
“Fuck, Everleigh.” Growling, I reach up popping those pink lips open for me. Heading straight for her clit, I suck the little bundle into my mouth.
Everleigh arches her back, her moans slipping from her sweet lips. Sliding a finger inside of her, she clenches her pussy around me. She feels too damn good. I want to be inside of her, but I want to make her crazy with want, first. Flicking my tongue over her clit, I slowly lick my way down.
Pulling my finger free, I replace it with my tongue. Dipping in and out of her, her moans turn to cries. Her body rocks trying to get closer to my face.
I love every second of this. I dip my tongue in a few more times before moving back up. Her clit throbs with need and I give it all my attention. Pulling back, I rub small circles around her clit.
“I want you to cum hard, do you hear me?” Before she can respond my mouth is back to bringing her to ecstasy. She may be worn out from her orgasm, but I’m far from being done with her. I climb up the bed, dragging her little body with me as I go. She's breathless and beautiful, just the way I want her. I reach down positioning myself at her entrance before I shove in a little. Her eyes snap open, locking on mine.
“You better hold on, sweetheart.” With a little wink, I grab her thigh, hitching it up around my waist. My fingers toy with her nipple as I slowly roll my hips into her. Giving her nipple a hard pluck, I slide my hands down to grip her hips. The rough thrusts that I pump into her have her screaming my name just like I wanted her to.
“Dragon!” Yeah, I know how she likes it. She may need that slow and gentle, but she fucking loves it hard and fast.
Spreading her legs, I press a hand down on the top of her pelvic bone before rotating my hips.
“Holy shit! Dragon, please! Don’t stop.” I can feel it all. Every piece of this woman is squeezing and hugging my dick right now.
“I don’t plan on it.” Harder. That’s all I can do is go harder. I let my thumb drift down to toy with her clit. That’s all she needed. Her body erupts in goose bumps, her pussy locking down around me. Everleigh cums like I’ve never felt before, with me right there with her. My dick jerks inside of her, letting her have every piece of me. I drop my head and press light kisses to her lips. She tastes like heaven, and there is no way in hell that I’m letting that go.
Chapter 21
Ev cuddles into my side, worn out by the orgasms I just gave her. I can’t say that I’m far behind. This girl wore me out. My fingers mindlessly roam up and down her back.
“I’m sorry I acted like that,” she says, her breath tickles my skin.
“It’s not your fault. I threw a lot at you all at once. Devil has a house that no one knows about. He’s there at night, and Angel will stay with you durin’ the day.” Everleigh sighs into my chest once more.
“What about you? Will you come over?” Grunting, I wish I could. I know the risks, though.
“Not until after they come with the search warrant. I don’t want them followin’ me over there. I’ll call you, though. Got you a new phone.” Ev lifts her head, resting her chin on my chest.
“I don’t know how to act or how to take all this. What do I do, Dragon? I don’t want to keep running.” Resting my other hand behind my head I groan.
“I know you don’t. We have some people lookin’ into things. I have plans that are bein’ set in motion, Ev. I’ll get it all taken care of. You won’t have to run. You won’t have anything to do but relax and let me fuck you.” Everleigh laughs before pressing her lips to my chest. The way my body quivers, I want more of her. I want so much more than I probably should.
“Let’s get dressed. We have a tree to decorate.” Tickling her side, she laughs before sitting up. Before I can move, her lips are on mine.
“Thank you, for being you.”
The tree looks perfect. Haylee grins from ear to ear, while Jordan tries to rip all the balls off. My heart swells watching my family enjoying this time together. Everleigh is pulled tightly to my side, while Devil smiles over at me. Shaking my head, I press my lips into Ev’s hair.
“This means a lot to her.” I know this is hurting her. It has to be. This is the first Christmas away from the home that she’s always known. I don’t think Haylee is having an issue with it, though. She’s so lit up right now. Aria brought in a radio and has Christmas music playing. Haylee dances around, singing every song on there.
I love watching her. I love seeing her so excited. However, it also hurts.
It hurts that it isn’t Emily, laughing and smiling. Nothing can bring her back, though. I came to terms with that a long time ago.
“Why are you so tense?” Everleigh moves to stand in front of me; her eyes are full of worry.
“It just hurts that Emily isn’t here to do this also. I’m ok with it now. It’s just, seein’ Haylee so happy, it hurts a little.” I see the understanding in her eyes. She knows what I mean.
“I can’t imagine losing a child, Dragon. I wouldn’t know what to do without Haylee.” I give her a sad smile.
“You never want to feel that pain. I’ll make sure you never have to.” Kissing her forehead, I pull her back against me.
I want to savor the time I have with her because after the shit goes down; I don’t know how much more of it I will have.
***
I sent Everleigh and Haylee to Devil’s a week ago.
Wiley said things came up, and they didn’t execute the search warrant the other day when they were supposed to. So, here I sit and wait. He said they’d be here today. Roc and I went out Christmas shopping in the meantime. Thank fuck, the mall has people to wrap all this shit, or it would have been tossed in front of the tree the way it was.
We locked it all up in Devil’s shed for safe keeping. I don’t trust this Anderson fuck any further than I can throw his ass. I hear the cars coming before I see them.
“We ready?” Hollering at the guys, I know this place is spotless. We made sure of that. Not one speck of dirt would be found when they toss this place.
“Fuck yeah!” I sent a quick text to Ev before deleting it all from my phone and shutting it down. I won’t give this fuck anything at all to pin me on shit. Dropping onto the couch, the guys lean against the bar. I kick my boots up on the coffee table, crossing my arms over my chest. As the cars filter in quickly, screams erupt outside. Same old shit.
“
Police! Search Warrant!” The glass on the front lobby door breaks as I shake my head. Police swarm the lobby, guns trained on us. I just sit back with a smile.
“You know, that door was unlocked.” Making note that they broke my fucking glass for no reason, they don’t look like they care. Huh, imagine that.
We’re all on the floor, face down, hands cuffed behind us. I want to laugh at all the huffs and pissed off remarks, as the assholes find nothing in their search. Glancing over at Devil, it looks like the fucker fell asleep. I chuckle to myself when a boot meets my ribcage.
“What the fuck!” I grunt from the impact; I tilt my head to look up at the bastard that kicked me.
“Where are they?” With a grin, I shake my head before resting my forehead on the floor.
Another kick to the ribs.
“Fuckin’ punk!” Growling, I try to catch my breath. Anderson reaches down, grabbing me by the hair.
“You better think long and hard before you lie to me, Dragon.” His words mean nothing to me.
“Long and hard, was what she liked.” Yanking my head back, I feel like it’s being ripped from my body, but it was worth it to see the look on his face. Not so much when his knee met my jaw, though. Blood pours from my mouth before I spit it on the floor.
“Get him up!” Dropping me back to the floor, I grin at Devil, who is wide awake now. The look on his face is priceless. A few guys roughly yank me up from the floor, so that I’m facing the piece of shit that hurt my girl.
The reality isn’t lost on me. I just thought of her as my girl.
Fuck this, that’s exactly what she is. Married or not, she won’t be for long, and she is mine.
Chapter 22
His fists collide with every surface of my body. Pain radiates through me like sharp stabs of a knife. Blood leaks from my head, down my face, clouding my vision. I’ll take it too; I’ll take every last bit of it to keep them safe.
“You ever think you’re lookin’ in the wrong place. Those pictures, I wasn’t there with her you idiot.” His fist collides with my jaw. The pissed off look of rage simmers in his eyes. It only serves to make me smile.
“You expect me to believe that you just like taking trips to the mall to see Santa?” His laughter grates on my nerves. Sorry-ass bastard.
“We have kids here. Why the hell not?” This punch to the stomach knocks the air from my lungs. I gasp and cough trying to catch my breath.
“Take him in!” My head jerks up to meet the bastard’s eyes. He knows what he’s doing, and I know this isn’t the end of the beating I’m about to take.
“On what charges?” Ghost hollers as he shoves off the floor, only to be hit in the back of the head and knocked back down.
“Don’t worry about his charges.” Anderson grits through his teeth.
“Call Jackson.” Jackson is the lawyer we have on hand for club issues.
“Start walking!” Shoving me toward the door, I know I’m in for one hell of a night tonight.
“We got this Dragon!” Devil hollers before I hear the laughter of the cops. I don’t miss the sound of the bones cracking either.
These motherfuckers are lucky Devil doesn’t turn into just that.
Of course, I wasn’t put into a cell alone. Nope, they threw my ass in with a whole lot of rivals that want my head on a fucking platter. I haven’t slept in days. My ass has been handed to me over and over again. Her face keeps me going, though. I won’t let them break me. I’m barely hanging on when I hear the cell open.
“Move it, Jacobs.” Thank fuck! Shoving off the seat that I claimed as my own, I make my way over.
“Wait till you’re out. I got a surprise for you.” Winking with what good eye I have, I make a promise to these little punks. Blue Sky are nobodies to us. They are a bunch of little pricks that like to try to show out as an MC. Putting their hands on me just sealed their death warrant, as far as I’m concerned.
I follow the guard out to the front where I spot Ghost and Roc, with Jackson. They all glare at me before Jackson speaks.
“I’m pretty sure that wasn’t the condition my client was in when he was brought in here!” I like him. He’s a hard-ass that won’t take any shit, from anyone. The guard shrugs with a grin before shoving me toward them. Roc pulls me in first before Ghost moves in next.
“We got a list of names?” Ghost asks. Nodding, I know what he’s asking. He wants names of the assholes that did this shit to me.
“Good. We’ll get them handled,” Roc mumbles. As if he knows what I knew already.
“Let’s get the fuck out of here.” Roc slaps a hand on my shoulder, leading me outside.
“Did you do what I told you?” My eyes meet Ghosts before he nods.
“Yeah, Santa fuckin’ came to the clubhouse and shit. Merry Fuckin’ Christmas.” He doesn’t sound too happy, but then again, this last week has been hell.
***
No one was happy about the pit stop I made on the way back either.
I don’t give a shit. This is my first Christmas with Everleigh and Haylee, and I want to make it special.
“Doc’s waitin’ to check you over. You’re lucky the fucker likes to hang out with us more than his wife.” Roc chuckles as we pull into the parking lot. I asked them not to say anything to Ev, just in case the bastards didn’t let me leave.
“He always has. We’re some very hospitable motherfuckers,” I say. Ghost looks over his shoulder at me before laughing.
“She doin’ ok?” He knows who I’m asking about.
“She’s worried about you. Haylee asks when you’re comin’ back. Nessa talked to her.” Nodding once, it makes me feel good that they missed me.
“What about Ev? She take shit ok?” Roc shakes his head before turning the truck off. He shifts in his seat to turn and face me.
“She cares, that much is obvious. She was afraid of what Luke would do to you,” he says, nodding toward my face, I can only imagine what that looks like. I know what the fuck it feels like, that’s for sure.
“Yeah, threw my ass in there with the fuckin’ Blue Sky. Can you believe that shit?” Ghosts mouth hangs open.
“Those bitches? How many in there?” I close my eyes, my head is pounding, and the world is still spinning.
“Twelve. I ain’t slept in days, brother. I feel like I’m about to fuckin’ explode.” Ghost nods, knowing how it is.
“Let’s get in, let Doc check you out. I’m sure he can give you somethin’ so you can rest.” That sounds like the best idea he’s ever had.
The girl’s smile, seeing us walking toward the door. That is until they see me. Their mouths hang open, but I shake my head. I don’t want them scaring the kids or Everleigh. Roc holds the door as I step inside holding Haylee’s gift in my arms.
“Santa said someone wanted a puppy for Christmas.” The words come out, and Haylee’s head whips around to look at me. Her eyes widen, a smile crossing her face when she sees the puppy in my arms.
“It’s a puppy!” She screams, running toward me. I kneel down with a smile on my face as she grabs the little furball from me.
“Is he mine?” Tears fall out of her little eyes, and I can’t stop the smile that spreads.
“He’s all yours, sweetheart.” Setting him on the floor, she throws herself into my arms.
“Thank you, Dragon. I love you!” Her words pierce my heart.
“Love you too, sweetheart.” She pulls back picking up the puppy again.
I watch her as she runs around the room looking for her mom.
“Mom! Look what Dragon got me!” Her screams draw all the attention. We all watch her in amazement, but when Everleigh’s eyes come to meet mine, she pales.
Haylee has already moved on to show Devil, the puppy. It’s like everything is in slow motion. Ev moves toward me, my heart hammers in my chest. When I see the locket around her neck, I grin. Yeah, I got her something special too.
“What did he do to you?” Her tone is soft, like silk. Her hands come up to cup
my face.
Her thumbs are running over every mark that was left on me. Shaking my head, I grab her wrists.
“We’re not doin’ this today. This is a good day, Ev. Let Haylee enjoy it.” Putting her hands down, she looks me in the eye.
“Merry Christmas, Dragon.” God, my heart wants to explode in my chest. Gripping her around the back of her neck, I drag her lips to mine. I have missed the taste of her, the feel of her.
“Merry Christmas, darlin’.” Crushing her body against mine I don’t give a damn how bad it hurts. Knowing she’s ok and happy, is the only thing that matters to me at this point.
“I’m dead, Ev. I haven’t slept in days. I need a little while ok?” Pulling back she looks up at me, giving me a little nod.
“Nessa, is Haylee ok with you?” She asks her. I watch her questioningly. What is she doing now?
“Of Course, she is. We’ll play.” Ev smiles, wiping a tear from her cheek before grabbing my hand. We walk in silence down the hallway, toward the bedroom. Ev opens the door, ushering me inside.
“You should stay out there with her.” Reaching for the hem of my shirt, pain shoots through my body. Everleigh moves quickly, taking over my task. Pulling my shirt over my head, she gasps. Glancing down, I see exactly why, too. My body is covered in angry purple bruises.
“That bastard.” Mumbling under her breath, she walks away from me. I shake my head with a half-smile as I finish stripping out of my clothes. I sit on the edge of the bed when she comes back with a wet rag.
“Let me clean your face up,” she says, and I don’t move. I sit there and let her clean me. It’s the most amazing feeling in the world.
When Everleigh starts to cry as she wipes the dried blood from my face, I grasp her wrist.
“Ev, I love you.” Her tears spill over, running down her face.
Chapter 23
I pull Everleigh into my arms, holding her sobbing body tightly.
“I should be holding you. I’m sorry I’m such a mess, Dragon.” Chuckling softly, I kiss the top of her head.
