“Two blocks out, cut the engines,” I say. I don’t need them hearing us coming in there. I need that element of surprise on my side right now. I get the nods before we take off. I don’t like how any of this is going so far. I didn’t want to have to chase these motherfuckers down. I guess it’s a good thing I’m just in a good mood tonight. I need answers from Marcus before I go after Wiley. We park out just like I said, cutting the engines. Climbing off, I double check my guns as the guys do the same.
“This is bullshit,” Devil mumbles under his breath. He’s right, it is, but this is what we do.
“We get in—we get Marcus. I don’t give a shit about the rest of them.” That earns me a laugh out of the rest of them.
“Let’s do it then. I want to get back home and fuck my woman.” All eyes shoot to Roc.
“What?” Shaking my head, I smile. I’m glad that we all have something to go back home to.
Shit could have been different. In a different world at a different time, we wouldn’t care how long it took us. We’d kill, we’d drink, we’d fuck. Nothing else mattered then.
Now it’s different. The club has moved forward. We have old ladies. We have kids. We have families.
That’s what we look forward to now.
We make hand signals to each other on either side of the door. Ghost takes up left while we take right. We know the drill. We’ve done this more than once. I hold a finger up. Then two. Then three. We move in. Kicking the door open we move in, firing as we go. I don’t give a shit who it is inside as long as we get Marcus. Shots are returned as we take cover behind whatever we can find. Off to my left, I spot a woman that I don’t know. She’s trying to move away from us, but when she sees me looking, she stops. Her eyes widen, her mouth falls open. I make my move. Grabbing her around the waist, I put her ass in front of me. My hand moves from her waist to her throat, my fingers tightening around it.
“Where’s Marcus?” I’m pissed. Growling in her ear, she hiccups through a sob.
“In the back.” Good girl. She didn’t make me have to fight it out of her. That doesn’t mean I won’t kill her just the same.
The sound of the shots slowly fades when I check in with my guys.
“Call out!” I listen intently as they all call out their names. Thank fuck, none of them are dead. I can’t say the same about Marcus’ crew. The woman in my grasp sobs lightly.
“Make one fuckin’ move, and I’ll snap your neck. Understand?” She nods the best she can as I drag her forward with me.
“What did you find?” Devil’s eyes light up when he looks at her.
“A bargainin’ chip.” Kissing her cheek, she cries harder.
“He’s in the back. Check the door's over there, make sure there’s no one else.” Nodding toward the other two doors I see, we make our way toward the back. Surely Marcus heard the little shoot-out, and he’s waiting for us.
“What’s your name?” Whispering in the bitch’s ear, she sobs softly.
“Anna.”
“You make one move Anna, you’re dead,” I say. I don’t need to ask her if she understands. She runs with Marcus, she should know better. The guys move ahead, checking the rooms.
“Fuck!” I hear Roc. I drag Anna toward the room, peeking inside.
“What?” Roc steps to the side to reveal two small kids in the corner.
“These yours?” Asking Anna, she nods quickly.
“Good. You fuck up; my boy kills them.” Her sobs come harder before I squeeze her neck tighter.
“Close the door; they don’t need to see this.” Roc steps out closing the door.
“That one’s clear.” Glancing at the last door, I know he’s in there.
Nodding to Devil, he kicks the door open before jumping back.
Marcus fires into the hallway missing everyone entirely.
“Tell him to stop.” Growling in Anna’s ear, I loosen my grip a little.
“Marcus, Stop!” Regripping her throat, I hear him.
“Don’t you hurt her. I’m coming out.” Ghost chuckles before we see Marcus’ hands coming out of the door first.
“See how easy that was?”
Chapter 33
Roc grabs him around the throat, his bulging muscles flexing with every step they take. The grin on Devil’s face is what makes me laugh, though. He wants blood, I know it.
“You want to tell us why you’re sellin’ out our shit to other clubs, or is Devil gonna enjoy fuckin’ your girl bloody?” Marcus’ eyes find mine. He’s trying to judge if he will really do it.
I don’t need to answer him. Devil steps up, undoing his jeans.
“We needed the money!” Devil steps back looking at Marcus.
“Elaborate.” Marcus swallows, his eyes staying on his girl's.
“Wiley was charging us up the ass for payoffs. My brother got into some shit Wiley couldn’t get him out of. We needed more money to work with someone higher up.” The laughter explodes out of me surprising everyone.
“You’re tellin’ me that I have to kill your whole goddamn crew over your brother?” I’m laughing so hard there are tears in my eyes.
“He’s family.” That’s the first thing that has come from his mouth that makes sense. I calm my laughter as I look at him.
“Marcus. It’s my shit. This is my family. You are takin’ away money that goes to our families. Understand where I’m goin’ here?” He doesn’t know what to say. He knows he fucked up.
“Why are we bein’ called cop killers?” He looks confused by that. Maybe he doesn’t really know what the hell that’s about.
“I don’t know shit about that.” Devil steps back toward Anna.
“I mean it, Dragon! I don’t know anything about that!”
“We have a little situation, now don’t we?” Looking at Marcus, he shakes his head.
“You don’t have to do this, Dragon.” Ghost chuckles before shoving Marcus to the ground. He sits up on his knees, he’s begging me.
“Please, Dragon. I didn’t mean to fuck you over, man.” Shaking my head, I hate beggars.
“You know how much I hate it when grown men beg, Marcus?” The look in his eyes is torn. He doesn’t know what to say. He wants to beg, but for what? It won’t change the outcome.
“I know where you live. I know what you look like. You get your kids and leave town. I won’t look for you. If I hear one word about what happened here tonight, I will find you, and I will kill those kids in front of you. Do you understand me?” Gritting my teeth, I speak slowly and softly to Anna.
“Yes.” Her shaky word leaves her mouth.
“Go say goodbye to your man.” Her breath catches in her throat. She thought I’d let him walk? Not a chance in hell. She drops to her knees in front of Marcus. Tears are rolling down her cheeks; she says her goodbyes. When I can’t take anymore, I motion for Roc to move her ass along.
“I mean what I said,” I tell her. Anna nods, not sure how to control the tears that fall. Roc yanks her up, shoving her toward the back room when I aim my gun.
“You fucked me over, Marcus. More than once. I let it slide the first time. I made you pay more. You didn’t like that and fucked me again. That was the last time.” I pull the trigger, watching his body fall to the floor.
I didn’t miss Anna’s cries either.

I blow out a breath as we walk back toward the bikes.
“Shit never gets easier,” I mumble. Devil looks at me funny before I continue.
“With the kids. I hate when the kids are involved.” He nods his understanding of that.
“Let’s get home.” I nod, ready for that. I need to get home to my girl and my kids. As we ride, I let that replay in my head. What if that was me? What if it was the other way around? How would Everleigh feel having to kiss me goodbye for the last time and go on with the kids? It rips me apart inside to even think about that. She deserves more than that. This is my world, though. We take pride in the way we protect our women and kids, but there
s always that what if, in the back of my mind. I shake it off as we pull into the clubhouse parking lot. Devil’s off his bike and inside before all of us. I can’t help but laugh. Roc climbs off his bike looking at me for reassurance. Giving him a quick nod, he heads inside.
“Shit’s crazy.” Ghost slaps a hand on my shoulder before pulling out a cigarette, offering me one also. I take mine, bring it to my lips and light it.
“Yeah, it is. I just think what it would be like for one of our old ladies, man. I don’t want that shit for any of them.” Ghost nods, before blowing out a ring of smoke.
“We’re better than that, Dragon.” Nodding my head, he walks off, but that thought still stays.
Are we better than that?
Chapter 34
Haylee and Jeremy are asleep when I walk in the room. Everleigh is sitting on the couch, rubbing lotion into her sexy skin.
“You’re back.” Her smile brightens my world.
“I did things... I don’t know, Ev. Shit’s changin’ in me.” I admit to her. Her smile fades. She’s off the couch in no time. Her arms are around my waist, just the way I like.
“Want to go outside and talk about it? I have the monitor on.” Nodding my head, she reached back, grabbing the baby monitor before leading me toward the door. We walk outside; her arms never let me go. Sitting on the lounger, I pull her into my lap.
“What happened?” She asks. I can’t tell her everything. It’s too much for her to know. Shaking my head, I run my hand over my face.
“I thought things would get easier. The things I do. Women and kids aren’t easy, though, Ev. Every time I see one involved, it kills me to do what I need to do.” Her fingers run through my hair, soothing me like she always does.
“I don’t know how you do it, Dragon. I know why, but I don’t know how. I don’t know everything about what you do either, but I know you do it for your family. That has to keep you going.” How can she sit here and say that to me when she has no clue what I do to people?
“Maybe you’re right. It’s hard, though. I know I have you to come home to, and that’s what keeps me goin’. If I lost that, I wouldn’t have anything.” Her lips press into mine so soft and gentle.
“You won’t lose me.”
“There’s only one way I can know that, Ev.” Pushing her back slightly, so I can look in her eyes. “I’ve debated this. God help me, I’ve even talked to the guys about it. I need to know that I have all of you. I need all of you,” I say. She looks confused.
“I don’t understand.” Shaking her head, she’s so fucking perfect.
“Will you marry me, Ev? I want you—every part of you. I want to adopt Haylee. I want this family more than I’ve wanted anything in my life.” Her eyes fill with tears. She could say no, and I couldn’t blame her. I did kill her husband.
“I’ve never felt the kind of love that I feel from you. No one has ever made me feel special and cared for. I don’t like what you do. I hate it, but it’s who you are. I love you. Yes. My answer is yes.” Crushing her mouth with mine, I taste the tears that she let fall. I run my tongue over hers, feeling every piece of her.
This is my perfect life. Ev’s body grinds against my hardening dick.
“You are gettin’ adventurous, aren’t you?” Her hands move under my shirt, touching me. Pulling back, she yanks my shirt over my head, her lips replacing her fingers. The way her tongue glides over my abs, I almost blow my load. Everleigh lowers herself more, unbuckling my jeans.
“You tryin’ to give the guys a show?” I ask. Her eyes come up to meet mine, the hint of a smile in them. I think I might like this little adventurous girl.
Ev yanks my jeans down as I raise my hips to help her out.
My dick springs free, rock hard and at attention. Her lips wrap around the head, softly and slowly. She licks the pre-cum as her eyes stay on mine.
“Damn, I like watchin’ you,” I groan. Lowering her head, she takes me deeper into her mouth. She slowly sucks, pressing her tongue to the underside of my dick.
“Fuck!” The way she feels with her mouth around me, I could die a happy man. My fingers tangle in her hair, guiding her head up and down. I’ve never felt the kind of pleasure that’s spiraling through me like this, before. The further into the back of her throat she takes me, the harder it is for me to calm myself.
“Your lips are like fuckin’ heaven,” I tell her. Her eyes stay on mine the whole time.
A few more hard sucks and I find myself on the losing end of this blowjob.
“You don’t want to swallow, you better stop.” My hips raise with every suck. She doesn’t move, though; she keeps going. My balls tighten and tingle, and when her tongue flicks over the base of my dick, I lose it. Cuming down her throat, she swallows everything I give her. She’s eager, and I love it. A few more jerks of my hips and I pull out of her mouth. Everleigh licks her perfectly swollen lips before climbing up my body.
“Are you going to fuck me now?” Damn, she is bold all of a sudden.
“Climb aboard, darlin’.” Hiking her skirt up, she does just that. She slides down my shaft with ease. She was made to fit me. Her nails dig into my chest as she starts to ride me.
“Everleigh, you feel so good.”
***
Waking up to my girl in my arms is perfect. I know it can’t stay this way, though. I have to go see what Wiley is doing.
“Don’t even say you’re leaving today.” Her groggy voice makes my dick jump.
“It can wait. What do you want to do today?” Her tongue circles my nipple before biting gently.
“Kids are in here. We’ll wake them up.” I hear her giggle before she rests her chin on my chest. I look down, our eyes locking.
“I want to just spend time together. Maybe go swimming or something. The four of us.” Damn the sound of that amazes me. The four of us.
“You know I’d do anything you wanted.” She pushes up, pressing a kiss to my lips.
“Anything, huh?” Her eyes twinkle with mischief. Rolling us over, I know I can’t fuck her the way I want with the kids in the next bed, but I can surely make her cum. Kissing her slowly, I start my descent down her body. Stopping at her breasts, I kiss each one, paying special attention to each nipple. Once I have them as hard as I can get them, I move lower. The scruff on my face must tickle her skin. I watch the bumps as they form before kissing and sucking her skin into my mouth. Her fingers find their way into my hair like they always do when I eat her. I spread her legs wide, so I can see exactly what it is I want. Hiding under the sheet means nothing to me. That just means it will hold the scent of that sweet pussy as I devour it with my mouth.
Chapter 35
“I don’t think he likes the water,” I say. Jeremy whines every time we touch his little toes in it.
“He loves his baths, though.” Shrugging, I guess my boy isn’t going to be a swimmer.
“I love it!” Haylee squeals as she throws water around. I’m really glad that I had this pool redone. Ev swims around, her long dark hair trailing behind her. Fuck, she’s beautiful like that. I put Jeremy in his stroller, making sure he’s buckled in tightly before heading toward the steps.
“Daddy, can we buy a dolphin for the pool?” Haylee asks. I start laughing until I see the serious look on her face.
“We can’t do that.” Shaking my head, she pokes her lip out.
“You said I could have whatever I wanted.” Oh, shit. I did, didn’t I? Everleigh laughs as she watches me try to get out of this one.
“Well I know that, but dolphins can’t live in a pool, darlin’. They have to have room to swim and salt water. We can get a fish if you want but not for the pool.” Her eyes light up like they always do. Haylee plays in the shallow end of the pool while I swim over to Ev.
“You weren’t gonna help me at all were you?” Her smile says it all. That little shit.
“I should spank your ass until it's raw.” Whispering against her neck, she shivers.
“Cold?” Everlei
gh shakes her head. Damn, I like doing that to her. I will never get enough of seeing the way she reacts to me.
“You’re amazing, Dragon.” Her hands wrap around my neck, her legs around my waist.
“You’re perfect.” Sucking her skin into my mouth, I want to mark her. I want her to walk around wearing something I did to her.
“I want you to fuck me.” My dick responds.
“Later, sweetheart. I will tear that little pussy up.”
***
Devil got Wiley’s address, and much like his Captain, we are waiting in the dark to say hi. Devil paces the room while I lounge on the couch. It hurts a little that Wiley would do this shit to us, though. We’ve had him on the payroll for a long fucking time.
He’s never steered us wrong, and we’ve never had an issue.
“Why do you think he did it?” Roc’s the one to ask the obvious question.
“Don’t know. As far as I can tell, he needed the money. He needed to pull the eyes off him. They have to be lookin’ hard for Anderson,” I say. That isn’t lost on the guys either. Ghost crosses his arms, leaning against the wall.
“What would that have to do with Wiley, though?” Shrugging, I have no clue about that either.
I’ve heard things about Wiley before. I heard that some knew he was twisted and playing for the other team. I never put too much thought into it.
“Guess we can ask him.” Devil smiles when I see the headlights pulling in. My heart picks up its pace. I want to know why he’d do this shit to us. I want to know why he would put word out there and why he was charging Marcus up the ass for help. I don’t believe for one second that he couldn’t help him. There is something else going on. Something deeper than we know. The door opens, and the replay of Anderson flashes in my mind. He comes in, the lights not working. Much like Anderson, Wiley tosses his keys on the table before walking into the living room. And much more like Anderson, Devil grabs him around the throat.
