  “Yeah, with Vincent,” I confirmed.

“That changes things a bit. Are you sure you want this mess we’re about to get into?”

  “I think so.”

“You can’t fucking think so. You need to know it.”

“Then I fucking know it.” And I did. I was giving in despite every reason I had not to.

“I stand by what I said. If Vasiliev turns out to be the guy she was fucking, she’s dead. Him with her. I don’t like traitors. She swore nothing happened with the lords past what was forced of her.” His hands shook as he adjusted the box he carried. “Her life will be a nightmare if the lords get her and Ivanov marries her. We’d be doing her a favor.”

“And if we keep her? How are we going to win against your old man? We’re on a bit of a time crunch here.”

“Remember what you said to me in my room when we talked?”

  I nodded, recalling our heart-to-heart.

“I think. . .” He raked a hand through his hair, mussing it. “It’s a good idea. She’s eighteen. We won’t need anyone’s permission. I can marry her and make her a De Santis. It’ll look real bad if my father killed my wife. At least right off the bat. It’ll buy us some time to get shit sorted. It’s the best plan we have.”

My chest ached, but I nodded. “Fine. We need to let Vincent know.”

“We won’t tell her. I want her to have a nice evening. We’ll stay by her side the entire time. Being in public, out in the open, will keep her safe. We’ll all go back to my room afterward. In the morning, we can make her mine.”

“Sure,” I grunted, taking a hit from my joint. I needed the fucking escape. I’d fallen for someone I couldn’t have. Or couldn’t marry. Story of my life.

Dom studied me for a moment longer. “It changes nothing. You. Me. Her. Vincent. She’s ours, even if she has my last name. I’d never take her from you two. I want you to know that. But we need to agree that she’ll die if she’s been with a lord. I don’t back out of promises.”

His green eyes glinted with the darkness he’d inherited from his father. There was something else in them though. Something that told me he wouldn’t want her dead, even then. I took that piece and clung to it, hoping I was right, before I exhaled. “I’m glad you’ll let me fuck your wife, De Santis.”

“I know you’d let me fuck yours.” And with those sweet words, he nodded for me to follow him into Bianca’s building.

I did so, lost in my fucked-up thoughts.

Tonight would change everything, that much I knew. I just hoped bumblebee hadn’t made a mistake with a lord because her life was on the line. Hell, my heart was on the line. Anger flowed through me just thinking about a lord touching her. I wasn’t sure I could get past it myself if it were true. It would piss me off, sure, but it would shatter what little faith I had left. I knew it would.

But I also hoped I was right about the look in Dom’s eyes, and that if she had, he wouldn’t follow through with killing her.

Dom never broke a promise though.

And I had a happy trigger finger.

  Vincent

The door to Bianca’s room banged open, making her jump beneath me as I kissed her, my body between her legs and my zipper undone. I was ready to bury myself inside her again.

I didn’t have to look to know Dom was back. His presence ate through a room like a deadly virus.

“Vincent,” he barked in a dangerous voice.

“Fuck,” I muttered, pecking B’s lips once more before untangling myself from her and looking over at the prick who’d ruined my fun. “Glad to see you finally decided to show up.”

Dom’s gaze skated from me to Bianca’s naked body. I followed his stare and smiled as her cheeks flushed scarlet before the pink made its way to the tops of her breasts.

  Fucking breathtaking.

And heartbreaking because I didn’t think I had much longer with my baby B. The expression on Levin’s face said as much, but I didn’t need him to tell me. I was fully aware of it when Dom had taken so long to get back.

I’d fallen for the girl we’d have to kill.

That was karma for the shitty life I’d led.

“I bought you something.” Dom was still gazing at B. She sat up and covered herself with a throw blanket.

“What is it?” Her blue eyes darted to the package he held.

“Open it,” he said, approaching. He stopped at the edge of the bed and handed her the white package.

Levin took up residence against the wall by her dresser, looking like he was sucking on a lemon, but keeping his eyes on B.

This sucked. The brute had finally found someone to love, and then this shit happened. It hurt me to know he was hurting. Hell, that Dom was hurting. Dom might not come out and say it, but we’d been friends long enough that I could read his tells. The way he licked his lips when she touched him. How his eyes were always trained on her. The way the tension seeped from his body whenever he was near her. His smile, the one he hardly ever wore. Yeah, my boy had it bad. We all did.

B tore through into package and stared down at the contents. I lifted my brows in surprise at the baby blue dress inside.

“I thought you liked red?” She cocked her head at him.

“It’s not always about me,” he said gruffly, his gaze darting to Levin who stood stone still watching the exchange, sadness creeping onto his face.

Yeah, her last dance in a pretty dress. Our own little Cinderella. Except it wasn’t a shoe she’d lose. It would be her life.

I rubbed my chest, feeling sick.

She slid across the bed, the blanket still secure around her body, and crawled into Dom’s lap like the sweet kitten she was.

She whispered something in his ear that made him wrap his arms around her and hold her close.

Levin and I watched the exchange. I’d never seen Dom treat a woman like she was the only thing in the world before. He never showed anyone the sweeter side of himself, and in that moment, I could see what sort of man he really was to his woman. He gave a damn. So much so, his agony at losing her was palpable to me.

His lips met hers gently, his hand moving to cradle her delicate face as he deepened their kiss. She shifted against him, her blanket falling down, her stiff nipples grazing against the front of his suit jacket.

My cock thickened as I watched the exchange. When I glanced at Levin, his focus was on them, his pants sporting an impressive tent too. I’d kissed him earlier. Just something in the moment for B, but I’d liked the harsh brush of his lips against mine. The pressure. The urgency. The struggle over who would dominate. It was a nice contrast to her mouth. Never in my life had I ever even noticed another man, but I knew if it ever happened again with him, I’d try a little harder than just stroking his cock and kissing. It was probably number four on my bucket list of weird shit I wanted to try.

I turned back to Dom and B. He finished their kiss, going back in once more for a peck on her swollen lips.

  “Get dressed. We’ll wait here.”

She nodded, looking up at him all dazed with a content smile on her face. Dom lifted her small body off his lap, the blanket she’d been covered with falling to the floor. She started to reach for it, but Dom kicked it away.

  “No,” was all he said.

The brilliant flush I loved so much on her body returned as she backed away, her gaze locking on mine. I winked at her, making her blush deepen as she shuffled to the bathroom and closed the door behind her.

The look of serenity on Dom’s face slipped away only to be replaced by his stone-cold mob prince mask.

“We need to talk,” he said, finding me in the room, his eyes sad.

Fuck. I knew it. I knew it.

We were going to lose our little bee.

“How bad is it?” I asked, my guts a mess of writhing snakes.

“You should sit down for this.”

  Bianca

The music pounded out around us as w
e entered the dance. Vincent’s arm was around my waist, and Dominic and Levin flanked us.

“It’s pretty.” I gazed around, taking in all the twinkling lights and cloud decorations the committee had put together. It was definitely a step up from the dances at my old high school. This one looked like a high budget set for a teen flick.

Vincent gave me a squeeze and placed a quick kiss on my temple before Dominic led the way to a table situated off to the side in a dark corner. When we got there, instead of me sitting on my own, Dominic snagged my hand and pulled me down onto his lap, nuzzling his face against my neck. Vincent looked put out for a moment, but he quickly turned his attention to Levin who’d been sulking since we’d gotten naked earlier in the night. He blew so hot and cold, it drove me nuts.

I watched as Vincent leaned in and said something to Levin that made him grunt and shake his head.

“Attention on me,” Dominic commanded softly in my ear, steering my focus back to him.

“It’s not always about you,” I said as he kissed along my neck. Goosebumps scattered along my skin.

“It is when I say it is, wasp.”

“That’s not a very sweet nickname.” I shifted, his erection digging into my hip.

“The queen wasp is protected by her males.” His lips skimmed along my jaw. “Wasps are used in pest control and have unlimited stinging power.”

“Is this supposed to be dirty talk?” I let out a soft laugh. I felt his smile in his kiss.

“Maybe. Does it turn you on?” His hand trailed up the slit in my skirt and caressed my bare thigh.

“Maybe,” I said, breathlessly as his hand moved higher. Would he really touch me now? Here?

“Did you have fun with Vincent and Levin earlier?”

  “Yes.”

His fingers skimmed the edge of my panties. “Did you come for them?”

  I nodded, swallowing hard.

  “Use your words.”

  “Yes.” I breathed out.

  “I’m sorry I wasn’t there.”

  “Really?”

“Mhm. I’d have fucked your tight little ass while Vincent buried himself in your drenched pussy. You would’ve sucked Levin’s cock until you choked on his come.

My breath hitched as he slipped his finger under my underwear and rubbed my clit. I clung to him, hoping no one saw us. It was a dark corner, and everyone was dancing. I had my doubts anyone would be brave enough to approach Dom and tell him to stop.

“I don’t want anyone to see,” I managed to rasp as a swarm of butterflies took flight in my guts.

“Then come quickly for me.” He rubbed me faster, making my breath come out in gasps.

I locked eyes with Levin, who stared back at me as Vincent engaged him in conversation. Sadness stared back at me. I couldn’t bear the look on his face, so I swiveled my attention to Vincent. He leaned back and leveled his eyes on me, licking his lips.

Shit. I wanted to come so bad. A stuttered gasp left my lips as Dominic pushed a finger into my depths, his thumb still working miracles on my clit. I wanted to ride his hand so much I was shaking from the effort of holding myself back.

“Do you need some help, baby B?” Vincent eased forward.

  I nodded, unable to speak.

He smirked and pressed his lips to mine. I melted into the kiss as Dominic worked me faster.

“Come on Dom’s hand, beautiful,” Vincent said breathlessly. “Be a good girl and give him what he wants.” He nipped my bottom lip.

I whimpered against his lips before he kissed me again, Dominic knuckle deep in my pussy. With one final flick of his thumb, I crashed over the ledge, my release making me moan into Vincent’s mouth.

Vincent continued to kiss me through the waves of euphoria as Dominic coaxed the remainder of it from my body. When Dom was done, he removed his fingers from between my legs.

“Show Dom how grateful you are,” Vincent said, pulling away from me.

I swallowed and turned to Dom. He moved his finger to my lips and rubbed the dampness against them.

“Open,” he commanded softly, his green eyes glinting in the strobing lights from the dance.

I did as I was told. When he slid his finger into my mouth, I sucked on it, tasting myself. His eyes darkened, and his lips parted as I cleaned his finger with my mouth. I cleaned his thumb next. When I was done, he pulled his thumb free and ran it along my bottom lip for a moment. There was so much heat in his eyes, it sent a shiver through my body.

A soft gasp slipped from my lips as he took hold of my chin roughly.

  “Who do you belong to?”

“You. The kings,” I said thickly.

  “Swear it?”

  “I swear it.”

  “No lords? Not ever?”

My mind drifted to Fallon. My heart ached. If Dominic ever found out, he’d kill me and Fallon. I didn’t want to lie. God, I didn’t. But I’d already swore nothing happened before. The fear of losing my kings sent my heart into a downward spiral. I’d already lost Fallon. I couldn’t lose Dominic, Vincent, and Levin. Not now. Not ever.

  “N-No.”

“If you’re lying. . .” his voice trailed off.

My bottom lip trembled. I knew what he meant. I needed to tell him. Maybe if I came clean, he’d show mercy.

  “Dom—”

  “Dominic,” a female called out.

He didn’t tear his gaze from mine, but he did answer her. “What the fuck do you want?”

I made to look at the girl talking to him, but he forced my attention back to him.

  “Me, wasp. Don’t look away.”

I nodded, my lips parted. His gaze lingered on me for a second before he turned his attention to Stella, the girl in question.

“I asked what the fuck you wanted.”

  “We need to talk.”

I tried to steady my breathing. The last time she and Dominic talked had pissed me off. This time wouldn’t yield different results. He tightened his hold on me, his hand falling away from my face and moving to my waist.

It took everything I had to keep my attention on him instead of lashing out and clawing off Stella’s face. I buried my face in his neck so the temptation to shoot off his lap could be tamped down.

“What did I tell you last time?” Dominic’s voice held a note of irritation.

“You said to come to you when I had better information. I have it. We need to talk.”

I had to hand it to the bitch. She didn’t waver as she addressed him.

He was silent for a beat before he spoke, “Meet me in the men’s bathroom in five minutes.”

The conversation ended without a word from her.

“Dominic—” I started, anger surging through me. I didn’t want him alone with her.

He’d bitched to me about lords, but there he was, going to meet with one of their whores.

He pressed a finger to my lips. “Shh. I’ll only be a minute. Stay with Levin. Under no circumstances do you leave his side. Do you understand?”

“But I don’t want you to—"

He rested his forehead against mine. “I promise, it’s just talking. I need you to stay with Levin. Do you understand, Bianca? It’s dangerous tonight.”

I swallowed hard. Fallon had told me to stay away from the dance. Everything within me realized that Dominic knew why. I’d gone anyway and assured myself they’d protect me. Now Dominic was leaving with Vincent, apparently, to go have as secret squirrel meeting with Stella.

  “I said, do you understand?”

  “Yes,” I whispered.

He hesitated for a second before pressing a fierce kiss to my forehead. “I’ll be back.”

He set me on my feet and handed me off to Levin who stood beside him.

“Watch her,” Dom commanded before nodding for Vincent to follow him.

Vincent gave my hand a squeeze before leaving with Dominic.

I looked up at Levin. “Do you know what’s going on?”

He didn’t answer, opting to s
tare at some point over my head. I huffed out a breath, annoyed at him.

“Do you at least want to dance or something?”

“Sit,” he grunted, pointing to the chair Dominic had been in.

I flopped down, pissed off, and stared out at the sea of students dancing and having a good time. Two songs had gone by before Aubrey approached.

“Hey,” she called out, looking stunning in her sparkly, purple dress. The neckline plunged low. I knew it had taken a lot of bravery for her to wear it.

  “Hey.”

“Want to come dance with us? Emy is here.” She glanced from me to Levin then back at me, a nervous smile on her face.

“No,” Levin answered for me before I could open my mouth. “Leave.”

“Hey—” I was ready to tear into him.

“It’s cool. Later, right, Bianca?” Aubrey’s smile faltered before she tucked tail and rushed off.

I swiveled to glare at Levin. “You asshole. What’s your problem? It’s just a stupid dance—”

“If it’s a stupid dance, then what does it matter if you do it?” He stared back at me impassively.

  “You’re such a dick, Levin.”

He said nothing, opting to stare over my head again. I knew he’d shut down, so I crossed my arms over my chest and glared out at everyone having fun. Three songs passed before I felt a warm hand on my thigh. I turned to Levin as he leaned in.

  “I’ll dance with you.”

Surprised, I widened my eyes at him. But I was a stubborn asshole too. “No thanks.”

“I wasn’t requesting it,” he said, standing and taking my hand. He pulled me to my feet and led me to the dance floor before wrapping his arms around my waist.

We looked ridiculous out there with him touching me and me standing there with my arms by my sides, so I sighed and gave in. I placed my hands on his chest and looked up at him.

  “What’s your problem?”

  “You.”

“Me? How am I your problem? Honestly, Levin, you blow so hot and cold, you’re making me sick. I’m so tired of everything. One minute you make me think you want me because you’re kissing me and pushing your cock into my mouth. The next you’re sulking in a corner, giving me the damn silent treatment. How about you get your shit together and tell me what you want?” I scowled up at him.
