First, THANK YOU for not only reading these stories, but also reading through to our Author Notes, as well!
I’m going to continue what Dan said at the end. These books, these collaborations, are more of a production of a lot of people than just the author. While we come up with Universes / characters / stories / beats / arcs etc. etc. we have a number of people both inside the company and outside who help us get these stories done.
From fans who help us when we ask for ideas, or supply ideas when the mood strikes, to artists helping bring our vision to life (or creating a vision that we get to riff off.) There are editors and Beta Readers and JIT (Just In Time) support – to the fans that catch mistakes AFTER we have published and email them to [email protected].
We have collaborators, other authors, industry friends and those at Amazon who support these efforts.
And maybe that is a good place to make an additional comment. NONE of my efforts to date would be where they are without the people behind the scenes who created KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) in the first place. Now, we have (Dozens? Hundreds?) of Amazon members who support the infrastructure of the KDP system (servers, software, billing, payables, receivables, Kindle software on Apple IOS or Google Play, PC or Mac, and of course the Kindle tablets themselves.
I get to be an unsung hero of something that wouldn’t be around if not for those who had a vision, one that I ruthlessly took advantage of when I got half a clue later in life.
Finally, we come back to you. If you didn’t love to read (both our books and others) and are willing to exchange your time and money? Well, we wouldn’t have the blessings we do for producing these stories.
I am well aware of the amount of effort we put into what we have done. I know it wouldn’t be there without (at least for me and a few others I know) working seven days a week, often ten to fourteen hours a day for the last (going on) three years.
But, without readers? There would be no reason to do any of it. So, thank you.
This week, we are releasing four (4) books. Dan’s FIRST book right here, Judith Berens’ fourth School of Necessary Magic book, the fifth book in the Shay Series, and we finish the week with the Twenty-third Bethany Anne book (2nd in the Kurtherian Endgame series.)

Someone asked in the Fan group (on Facebook) how we get paid. This question comes up a lot, so I though I’d drop the answer in here.
If you read on Kindle Unlimited, we get paid for the number of pages you read. We don’t know exactly how much each page is worth until the 15th of the month AFTER we get the reads. Historically, we receive about $0.045 per page (ranges from $0.040 to $0.052).
We get paid the first time you read the book. If later, you download it again and read it (similar to having purchased a book) we do not get paid again. However, if you read half a book, then close it before opening it up again six month later are re-read the first half and finish the book, then we will get paid the second half of the pages.
For purchases, we get thirty-five percent (35%) of the cover price for books that sell between $0.99 and $2.99 (US) and any books OVER $9.99 we also get thirty-five percent (35%).
For books between $2.99 and $9.99, we earn seventy percent (70%) of the cover price. As you can tell, Amazon wants us to sell between $2.99 and $9.99.
We get paid sixty (60) days after the month ending. So, purchases / reads here in August of 2018 will get deposited into our accounts at the end of October, 2018.
