Minutes later, we join everyone in the dining room together, a Mona Lisa smile on Sarah’s face as she clears her throat and everyone stops what they’re doing and looks at us. It takes Pearl three seconds, tops, to guess the news, her eyes widening as she looks from Sarah to me and down to where Sarah’s hand rests on her belly.
“Is it true? You’re pregnant?”
“Yes,” Sarah replies and that’s all it takes before sweet pandemonium ensues. Nana, Pearl, and Daniel surround us with their hugs and congratulations, tears optional although like Sarah warned me minutes earlier, her mother is crying buckets. Even Dax and Gabe come downstairs to find out what the fuss is all about and I see Dax’s face go from shock to amazement to awe as he processes the news that his sister is going to be a mother.
But Dax isn’t the only one with things to process. As Daniel claps my shoulder and pulls me in a tight embrace, it takes all my willpower not to break down in front of everyone as it finally hits me. This is my family…and I’m home.
I’m finally home.

Acknowledgments
This book wouldn’t have been possible if not for the readers who believed in Sarah and Benny and the world that is A Different Kind of Love. Thank you for believing in me to tell it at the right time.
Thank you to Charity Chimni and Michelle Jo Quinn for being the best cheerleaders this writer could ask for. Those gentle nudges do help a lot…as are the reminders not to buy any more premade covers. My gratitude also goes to the ladies of Kworki for their unrelenting encouragement and positivity. You know who you are.
To my family and most especially my son who never stops believing in me and to whom this book is dedicated to (because he declared it and rightly so), my eternal gratitude. Thank you for allowing me to write my stories and for letting me talk to myself when I need to.
