She opened her legs wider so he could rest comfortably between them as she continued nipping his neck, ears, mouth, and chest. Years ago, when their relationship was new this kind of foreplay bothered her. It seemed too feral, animalistic. Over time she realized how much Silas loved it when she marked and used light force on him when they made love. It wasn’t something she could or would do often but when his beast surfaced for attention it was a given she would need to use teeth and nails on him.

“Jasmine.” He shuddered above her as she continued marking him. “Love you.”

With his skin between her teeth, she pulled lightly and released it. “I want more.” She grabbed his nipples and rolled the peaks between her fingertips. This was his weakness. She could play with him for hours keeping him on edge if he allowed it.

“No. Too close. Need you.” That was the only warning she received. The next moment, he lifted slightly and slid into her, filling her completely.

It never got old. No matter how often they made love, each time was just as good as the first or last time. Her core throbbed around him in welcome.

He leaned over her on his elbows. “Wrap your legs around me.” His voice was barely recognizable now and she loved it.

Eager, she followed his instructions and held on to his arms. Lying back, she held his gaze, saw his beast move behind his eyes and recognized the need on his face.

“Love me, Silas. Don’t hold back. Love me the way you need to,” she said releasing him.

It was as if a damn broke. He placed one hand beneath her, grabbing her butt tight while his hips pistoned in and out of her faster and faster. His eyes burned blue as his canines lengthened. The itch inside her intensified as he continued hitting her spot over and over. Heart racing, she squeezed her legs and core, demanding more of him.

Veins stood out on his neck as he kept up the pace, sending her higher and higher. “So wet. So sweet,” he growled.

This time the orgasm caught her by surprise as it rippled up and over her. She screamed his name and tightened her hold on his arms. He didn’t stop until she stopped shaking and went limp. He pulled out.

“Turn around and get on your hands and knees," he ordered.

She took a deep breath, rose slowly and leaned down on her forearms with her butt in the air. Weak from two back to back orgasms, this was the best she could do right now.

He licked her before plunging his cock inside her once again.

“Yesss...” she moaned, loving this position.

He grabbed her around the waist and pumped hard into her from the rear.

“Sweet Bitch,” he moaned as he lost his rhythm signaling he was close to the end. “My Bitch. Arrghh...” he growled as he emptied himself inside her.

Limp she eased forward and lay beneath him. “That was so good,” she murmured loving how close she felt to him.

“Always good with you.” They lay still for several moments until they were breathing normally. Silas stood, picked her up and walked toward the beach.

“Um, where are you going?” she asked looking at the water.

“To clean you up for the next round,” he said as he walked further into the warm water. “Feels good doesn’t it?” He continued walking with her until the water covered the tips of her nipples.

“Yes, it does.” She met his gaze. “This night... it’s the best of the whole week.”

His eyes lightened in pleasure. “I wanted to do something special for you. We’re not done, I want the whole night with you.”

“There’s not a lot of night left,” she teased as the warm water soothed her.

“Grandfather stayed longer than I expected. But we’ve got a few hours before sunrise and Solo’s yacht returns for us. I want more of you.”

“I want more of you too.” Leaning forward, she kissed him lightly as he turned and left the water.

  CHAPTER NINETEEN

SILAS WRAPPED HIS ARM tightly around Jasmine’s waist as they entered the limo Solo sent for them after the yacht docked in Panama the following morning. He glanced at Shyla and then Angus. None of them had gotten much sleep last night.

But seeing the pleased surprise on Jasmine’s face when they danced beneath the moonlight had been worth the agony of planning to do something he hated, to make her happy. It hadn’t been nearly as bad as he thought it would. Most importantly, she enjoyed it and understood what it cost for him to sing and dance with her. Considering the following hours they spent loving each other, it was no surprise Jasmine moved slow and yawned every few minutes.

“Are you sure you want to see Jandro today?” Silas asked her.

“Did Lucian find Rafe last night?” she asked.

“No. They haven’t found him yet.”

“Hawke hasn’t contacted you either?” She leaned against his shoulder as the car pulled out into traffic.

“I talked to him last night and this morning, they’re still working on it. Turns out interpreting an old language is harder than he anticipated.”

“Jandro will know where his father’s staying,” she said changing the subject.

“Possibly, but why would he tell us anything?”

“We won’t have to ask. Angus can find out.”

Silas didn’t say anything. He wasn’t as optimistic as his mate. Whoever was behind all of this had remained hidden for decades. When he spoke to Barticus earlier, his friend knew of no one who had taken on a Mage servant but promised to ask around. Amynta had no knowledge either.

“I’m concerned about Storm and Razor,” she said. “Why are they being impacted more than the others?”

“Than me and Angus you mean?”

“Not necessarily. There’s Hawke and Damian,” she said.

“They’ve got a lot of metal parts, whatever’s going on hasn’t really affected them. Angus is old and although not directly shielded by the Goddess, he’s connected to me and I’m shielded. Other than our pups, Razor and Storm are who’s left and meet the age requirements.”

“They didn’t need to be confined before your meeting,” she said.

“No, Storm and Renee had a handle on it. Razor hadn’t said anything so I don’t know what his situation was. Grandfather and the men at the meeting said whatever’s happening was progressive, though.”

The car wound through town toward a newer section of large homes with impressive waterfront views.

“How did you get them to allow us to visit?” she asked him.

“I told them my wife wanted to see Jandro before we left from our vacation.” He touched the tip of her nose. “See, an old wolf can learn new tricks like sticking close to the truth to get the job done.”

She grinned up at him before looking out the window again. When they pulled up to a gated community with a guard, Silas looked at the full-blood who worked the gate. The guard didn’t acknowledge Silas’ Alpha status which broke protocol and sent up a flag. They drove through.

“He’s watching the car and making a call to a human,” Angus told Silas.

“He’s not one of Solo’s or Lucian’s. Obviously he didn’t get the news there’s an Alpha over Panama and Central America,” Silas said.

  Angus nodded.

  “Lucian?”

“Silas, are you at Rafe’s home yet?”

“Just cleared the gate. You’ve got a man here?”

Lucian didn’t say anything immediately. “No. Did you see Pack out there?”

“Full-blood security guard on the gate,” Silas said wishing he could help the young Alpha. But Grandfather was right. Every bump, bruise, and disappointment were important experiences. Good and bad events collectively trained you.

“Thanks. Let me know if you need anything and if Rafe is there. He wasn’t last night but that doesn’t mean he’s not home now,” Lucian said.

“If he’s here or if I suspect he’s hiding nearby I’ll let you know before we leave for our flight.” Silas wanted to make sure Lucian understood they wouldn’t interfere or lag around to muddy h
is investigation.

“It was great seeing you and your wonderful mate again. Please give her and the others my best wishes for a pleasant flight home,” Lucian said gracefully.

“Thank you. Please extend the same well-wishes to Duke, Raven, and Solo.” Silas would contact Solo later during the week regarding repairs on the island and have him increase security.

  “Will do.”

The car stopped in front of a white, two story house with sweeping verandas and a large portico. Someone had planted colorful flowers out front and along the side of the home giving it a festive flare.

The driver stepped out, leaving his partner in the front passenger seat as he walked to the door. Moments later a slender, dark-haired woman stood on the porch and waved at them. “Hello, welcome. Please, come in.”

Silas opened the door as the security guard in the passenger seat stepped out, ran around to the other side and fumbled with the door. Silas assisted Jasmine out the car while Angus assisted his mate. Both women were outfitted in dress trousers in neutral colors and sleeveless tops. They looked like rich tourists out for a casual stroll. Silas wore a pair of jeans, loafers and a short sleeved blue print shirt. He took his mate’s hand and moved behind the security guard toward the porch. Just inside the door he sensed Jandro and someone else.

  Silas’ gaze met Angus.

“There’s a spot beneath the house that’s blocking any kind of sensory search. It’s possible Rafe hid there last night when Lucian’s men arrived,” Angus said as he followed Silas inside, bringing up the rear.

“Another heartbeat’s somewhere close,” Silas told Angus as he shook Jandro’s hand.

“You’re looking much better,” Jasmine said to a smiling Jandro.

“Si, he looks much better. I am Amelia, his mother. I am so thankful to you for saving him.” Shorter than Jasmine by a few inches with a slender build, porcelain skin, large dark brown eyes in a heart-shaped face with long, wavy dark hair, Amelia Alvarez was an attractive woman who looked too young to have a son Jandro’s age. Amelia placed her palms on Jandro’s cheeks and kissed his forehead. “He’s my only one. I could not imagine how life would be without him.”

Angus shook Jandro’s hand, grinned and said. “You certainly look a lot better than the last time I saw you.”

Jandro’s grin widened and he spoke to his mother in Spanish.

Her eyes widened and she walked over and hugged Angus.

Shyla tensed but remained next to Silas watching.

“Thank you so much, he tells me how you carried him, put him in warm water shower when he was cold. You did so much, thank you,” Amelia said as Angus peeled her fingers from his arms while staring at his mate.

If Shyla's’ jaw tightened anymore it would break.

“Amelia, your son was so well-mannered and determined to survive he left a positive impact on me.” Jasmine took the woman’s hand and pulled her from Angus, possibly saving her life since Shyla’s wolf had surfaced in her eyes.

“Gracias, you are so kind. You saved my life, all of you, gracias,” Jandro said in a ragged whisper.

“No. No, Jandro. Think only of happy moments and time.” His mother rushed over to him and wrapped him in her arms.

“It’s just I miss him. Really I do.” Jandro looked at Silas. “Please don’t judge him harshly, he was not always the way he was when you met him. I will not say he was sweet or overly kind, that would be untrue. But he was fair. Always kind and loving to me, though.”

“I don’t know your uncle well enough to judge him one way or the other, so lay your mind at rest on that score,” Silas said, alert to movement in the house.

“Gracias, you are most kind,” Jandro said glassy eyed.

“Third heartbeat moving down beneath this floor,” Angus said.

“Did Jandro know anything about his father’s activities?” Silas asked.

“No. He’s really hurt behind what the old man did to him. The mom’s genuine too, doesn’t know anything about her husband’s activities. They lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil for over 20 years and have only lived in Panama for the past two years while Jandro finished law school. They hadn’t seen or spent much time with Estevan or his twin since she moved away over 20 years ago.”

Silas nodded and watched Jasmine laugh again at something Amelia said.

Angus continued. “Here’s something interesting, though. I sifted through her knowledge of her husband. He’s an orphan, no family, no contacts, no real history. No past. Is it possible he’s connected to the full-blood?”

“Could be. I’ve had to re-invent myself several times over the centuries, will do so again. The human would have to do the same if he had a public face. Moving to Central America would allow him to start over.”

“Is Jandro really his? Would he be able to reproduce after all this time?”

  “Can you?”

“Yes, but I’m not human,” Angus said.

“I have no idea about that. But if Rafe is the human, the full-blood is nearby as well. Have Lucian take an in-depth look into all Rafe’s staff, associates, and friends. Where one is, the other is close behind,” Silas said.

“You really think Rafe is linked to a full-blood?” Angus asked.

“I don’t know. But it’s better to be thorough don’t you think?”

Angus moved to stand next to his mate. “One other thing. Remember when Asia first came to us?”

  “Yes,” Silas said.

“She and Leo had these small clouds or protected pockets in their minds, remember?”

Silas looked at Angus while Jasmine spoke with Jandro and his mom. “The Liege tampered with Asia’s mind, fed her a fake history, and hid the truth in that bubble. I broke it and she was upset because they told her she would die if it was ever tampered with. Leo had the same thing. Why?”

“Amelia has something similar, at least I think it’s the same thing. Could be Jandro does as well. Hers was right there near the front like it was done recently. It’s possible Jandro has one as well but I didn’t look for it.”

“Wait a minute. That stuff works on humans? How’s that possible?” Silas asked, surprised.

“The human mind isn’t as fragile as you think it is. Chances are her implant wasn’t done in the exact same way Asia or Leo’s were but something similar,” Angus said as he threaded his fingers through Shyla’s.

“Ask Shyla if you can touch the human again to break the bubble. It would be interesting to know what they’re hiding,” Silas said.

Angus gave him a derisive look.

“Ask her, she might say yes,” Silas teased.

“She’s already pissed. You can ask. As her Alpha she might agree.”

“Might? In that case I won’t put her in a position to call on Jasmine for support. Search Jandro and remove the shielding if possible,” Silas said watching Amelia laugh at something Shyla said.

Angus moved over to Jandro, placed his hand on his shoulder and whispered in his ear. “May I use your bathroom?”

“Oh... oh yes, it is this way,” Jandro stood slowly looking ill at ease.

“What is wrong?” Amelia asked moving to her son.

“Dizzy,” Jandro said holding his head.

Angus had placed his hand on Jandro’s shoulder to help him stand and released him. “Do you need water or something?” he looked around and then refocused on Jandro. The young man stared at him and blinked a few times.

  Angus frowned. “Are you alright?”

Jandro collected himself and nodded. “The island. You helped me get home. Thank you.”

Amelia looked confused and placed her hands on Jandro’s cheeks. “You need water.” She spun around and slammed into Angus. He reached out to grab her to stop her from hitting the ground.

“Mom,” Jandro said, his eyes wide as he moved to help her up.

“One moment, I almost fell.” When she saw Angus’ hand on her arm, she snatched it away and stared up at him. “Jandro?”

  “What is the matt
er?” Jandro asked moving close to her and staring up at Angus and Silas.

“These are the people who helped you?”

“Yes, I introduced them to you, remember?” Jandro stepped back, took a deep breath and released it slowly. “You wanted to use the toilet?” he asked Angus.

“Never mind. I’ll use it at the airport.” He gave Jandro and offended look. “Sorry I bothered you about it.”

“No. No that’s not it. My head, I’m having a hard time with these headaches, they come and go that’s all. Please, you saved my life and I don’t mean to be inhospitable. It’s this way.” He waved toward the hall.

“If you’re sure it’s not a problem,” Angus said following Jandro.

“What did you learn from him?” Silas asked.

“He knew what his father was up to, so did their mother. They’re terrified of Rafe Alvarez or whoever he is,” Angus said once he was in the bathroom. He used the facilities and washed his hands.

“His father planted the fake memory? Why?” Silas asked.

“He’s taking over Estevan’s spot in the business. More money, prestige. Seems being a lawyer is admirable but doesn’t pay the big bucks or provides the power base Rafe wants. He and Jandro discussed it a long time ago. Once his father realized his son wasn’t interested in going along, he kept him in the dark. Jandro learned what Rafe was doing several months ago, they argued and that’s the last memory he had.”

  Silas whistled. “And the mother?”

“She’s terrified of her husband. He keeps her on a leash, limits her contact with family or anyone who can help her. She’s scared now.”

“Which means Rafe is here or somewhere close monitoring them both,” Silas said.

“Most likely. Either him or whoever inserted those memories, which were paper-thin and much easier to break than the ones used on full-bloods.”

“Hmm. It would be interesting to talk to either of them. I’ll update Lucian, let him know what we suspect,” Silas said.

“Are we leaving now or do we need to wait until Lucian arrives?”

Silas contacted Lucian, explained what happened and agreed that Lucian should check the place out. “There’s nothing else we can do here.”
