“Never would be even better. I’m sorry I ever asked you to take me with you,” Basil said.
“But Basil, I’m glad you played the game,” Sophie said to her cousin, surprised that she actually meant it. “We wouldn’t have escaped if it wasn’t for you. Aisha would still be a captive in The Dark Tower, and Jun and I would still be imprisoned at the inn. Maybe Malefic would even have found a way to make me give him The Book. Anyway, thanks Basil.”
“Yeah Basil, thanks,” Jun and Aisha said. “You were great.”
“I suppose you now want me to help with your school project,” Basil grinned.
“Only if you write the bit on swamp monsters and nasty goblins,” Sophie quickly replied.
“Ugh! Don’t remind me. I’m off to get my iPad, and I think I’ll leave you three to it,” said Basil, determined to have the last word.
