Her eyes filled with happy tears. “Yes! I’d love to run away with you, Tony. We’ll have to get approval from a judge to take the children out of Georgia, but I don’t think that will be a problem. Thank you so much for bringing my family here. That means more to me than you’ll ever know.” She kissed me, her hands tangling in my hair and pulling me close. “I love you, Tony. For now, and always.”
I scooped her up and carried her to the bedroom, eager to show her how much we’d both won, and how much we both would continue to win in the future. And how much I loved her back.
This woman loved me. It seemed too good to be true. But it was true. I was a lucky man. The luckiest man alive.
I was more than ready to start a future with Grace. To have the life I never dreamed possible. I would do everything in my power to help Grace provide a stable, loving home for the kids. And be the best father figure I could be.
I had learned that with Grace in my life, by my side, anything was possible.
Even love.
