Kitty Kitty Page 5

by Vale, Lani Lynn

My eyes slammed shut, and on a silent scream, I came so hard that I saw stars.

I wasn’t sure if the stars were because I slammed my forehead against the wall in surprise when the release hit me, or because there were just stars in my vision from squeezing my eyes so tightly closed.

Whatever the damn reason for the stars, I focused on those as my orgasm took me over.

Peripherally, I was aware of something liquidy running down the outside of my thigh.

I was also aware that the hold on my hips was now downright painful as Sin squeezed, controlling our movements.

I was also aware that the guard’s voices were getting closer, more rambunctious, and vulgar.

The man behind me—inside of me—grunted in surprise at the force of my orgasm, and suddenly I wasn’t alone in my release. Sin was following right behind me so fast that I think he was just as surprised as I was.

I cried out one last time when he jerked viciously inside of me. The move caused him to slip just a little bit deeper, and that orgasm that I thought was tapering off only climbed just a little bit higher.

Then everything inside of me froze as the voices from outside came inside.

Sin pulled out of me like he was burned, and I started to pull up my pants and button them just as I heard my name called.

“Mackenzie?” I heard. “What are you doing over there with him?”

I felt my face flush but saw my out the moment I turned to see Sin.

His hand was bleeding again, that had to be what I’d felt running down the outside of my leg.

“I, uh, needed more gauze. Silly man tore his stitches already when he tried to catch me when I fell,” I lied easily, pushing the curtain aside and showing them the puddle of blood that was now dripping onto the floor.

I could feel Sin’s cum running down the length of my leg, and I had to thank the lord above that the pants were so thick that there was no way that a stain on the inside would leech to the outside.

“Stupid,” the doctor said as he looked at the mess that Sin had made of his hand.

And he had made a mess.

His hand was bleeding again, and it was more than obvious that he’d done something to rip the stitch open.

Sin’s eyes came to me, and something passed between us before the guard at the door said, “Hey, Warden wants to see you. Something about a firsthand accounting of everything that went down.”

I looked at Sin for a few more long seconds before saying, “10-4.”

Sin’s eyes dropped from mine, and I knew that I’d been dismissed.

  Dammit.

  “Take care of yourself, Sin.”

“You, too,” he rumbled, making my heart skip a beat.

Then I was gone, only not realizing that that instant would be the last look I’d get for a really long while.

  SIN

I felt like I was going to be sick.

How fucking surprising was it that an hour after fucking a guard, though she was a beautiful fucking guard that I couldn’t get out of my head, they call me down to the principal’s office.

  Or the warden’s office.

“We’re transferring you to a new prison,” the warden said, his eyes narrow and hard. “As of tomorrow morning, at oh eight hundred, you’ll be calling Bear Bottom Penitentiary your new home.”

You inspire my inner serial killer.

-things not to say to your prison guard

  SIN

  I was confused.

  More than confused.

“I’m sorry, but what?” I asked, looking at the practical four-star hotel room I’d been given.

“This is your new space.” The man gestured. “Have fun.”

I looked at all of my stuff that’d been nicely placed on the bed, then at the shelves of books and other things that were sitting on a shelf next to the window.

  Yes, window.

I hadn’t had a window in any of my cells. But this one, even if it had bars, was looking out over a fucking field of goddamn sunflowers.

  Holy shit.

I looked at the guard’s nametag.

“Pierce.” I paused. “You a football player?”

He grinned then. “Actually, I used to be. Quit a couple of years ago now. You watch football?”

I shook my head. “Not really. Certainly not in the last couple of years. I just remember hearing your name a couple of times and seeing your picture. Not something that I normally forget—names and faces.”

He nodded once. “You ready to head to the meeting now?”

He was talking to me like I had a choice.

“Uhh, sure.” I shrugged. “Why not?”

  Rome grinned. “Come on.”

I frowned. “Why are you treating me as if I’m not a criminal?”

He looked at me then as we walked down a long hallway.

“Why would I condemn you for something that I’ve wanted to do a hundred times myself?” he asked. “It’s just your misfortune that you were caught. A lot of us never are.”

He spoke like he’d actually done something bad.

I wanted to ask what, but before I could, we apparently got to wherever we were going.

  “In there.” He gestured.

I went in there and came face-to-face with a man that I didn’t know well, but I knew all the same.

“Lynn,” I offered him my unchained hand. “How goes it?”

He grinned at me, taking my hand before dropping it and taking a seat.

“It’s going,” he said as I followed suit. “You like the new accommodations?”

I tilted my head slightly to the side. “You’re responsible for that?”

He nodded once. “I am. There are a few things that I want to talk to you about, and an offer I’m going to make.”

I leaned back in the chair and crossed my arms over my chest, trying not to think about what I’d left behind at my old accommodations.

I may not have seen her all that much, but the possibility of seeing her was enough to get me through most days.

“What’s going on?” I asked carefully.

“What’s going on is I have a really big fucking problem.”

Then he went on to explain how there was sex trafficking going on in his back yard, and how he was going to fix it. Fix it with the help of some men that had already proven that they weren’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

  Men like me.

Men that’d killed and didn’t have any remorse for what they’d done.

“Not that I’m not willing to help with that, but how will I even help?” I asked. “I’m willing to do whatever, but I’m just not sure that I have any special set of skills that anyone else doesn’t. Plus, I’m in prison. Kind of hard to do anything from here.”

He laughed then. “So I have a few friends.” He paused. “Ones that can pardon people. Ones that have already pardoned you. All we’re waiting for now is a little paperwork. But in the meantime, you’ll be here, where I know you won’t die in the next couple of months while we’re waiting to hear back from the government.”

My heart started to pound. “You’re saying I’m getting out of here in a couple of months?”

The carefulness in my voice had me literally shaking in excitement.

“Yes,” he confirmed. “As long as you work for me and ‘I can keep an eye on you.’”

Joy started to filter through my system at his words.

“I’ll sweep your goddamn bread crumbs up off the floor while you eat toast if you get me the fuck out of here,” I told him.

  He grunted out a laugh.

“I don’t want that, man.” He looked serious for a few moments. “Seriously, now. I don’t want to take your life over and give you another prison. I want you to live your life. I want you to be happy. But I also want your help when I need it.” He paused. “How do you feel about motorcycle clubs?”

  BLAISE

  Six weeks later

My stomach was rolling as I looked at my dog, Sarge.

“Sarge,” I said through another belly roil. “I wish you could read, too.”

Sarge looked at me like I was crazy.

A couple of weeks after my attack, my Uncle Trance had shown up at my door with Sarge.

Sarge was a retired police K-9 whose handler had perished in a high-speed car chase.

He had also been in that car during the high-speed car chase and had been thrown through the windshield of the car during one of its many rolls.

It’d been only luck that Sarge had survived following that.

After multiple surgeries, my buddy was as good as could be expected.

His favorite person, Officer Soons, was gone, though.

And he’d been in a distressed state just like me after being beaten to within an inch of my life.

Sarge nudged me with his nose, just like he’d started doing years ago when I’d first gotten him and he didn’t like how mopey I was being, and I sighed.

“All right,” I grumbled. “I’ll go check. But if this is positive, you’re going to have to deal with a lot more of my shit.”

Sarge didn’t look at all amused.

I grumbled out another curse and walked to the bathroom where I’d left the pregnancy test on the counter.

My phone rang before I could get there.

I answered it without thinking. “Did you kill any rabbits yet?”

I sighed at my brother’s words. “Shut up. I’m just about to check.”

He grunted. “Just do it. Stop being a pussy.”

I looked at the counter where the test was and wondered if I needed to get any closer to read it.

  I did.

I was partially blind in one eye now, so it was obvious that I would need to get closer.

  Dammit.

“Johnny,” I said carefully. “I will come over there and kill you.”

“You could try,” Johnny agreed. “Just go look. You said you were going to take it thirty minutes ago. We’re all judging you.”

I knew they were all judging me.

“Why do you even know that I’m doing it right now? I told your wife, not you,” I grumbled.

Johnny and June—yes, they really were Johnny and June—did everything together. Honestly, this morning when I’d called to ask June’s advice on what to do—it’d been more than obvious that I was pregnant now that June had called me on it—I’d expected to hear from my brother at some point.

But he’d been busy with their son, Carter.

Carter Folsom, almost-five going on eighteen, was everything that Johnny deserved and more.

Poor June didn’t know what kind of trouble she was getting into when it came to Johnny.

See, out of the offspring of Sebastian Mackenzie, I was the perfect one.

Johnny was the bad seed. The rebel. The kid that was so wild that nobody thought he’d live to his eighteenth birthday.

So, it was funny as fuck to see him have a kid that was exactly like him.

Carter screamed from somewhere beyond him, and I sighed.

“Maybe you should go check on Carter,” I suggested. “And leave me alone.”

“June has him,” he answered. “Now walk your wiener ass up to the counter and look. So I’ll know if I need to go visit a prison.”

My heart started to thunder in my throat.

“How…” I started, but he interrupted me.

“Because I’m going to go to jail once I find out who the father is,” Johnny continued. “Seriously.”

  Relief swamped me.

  Oh, shit.

Everyone was going to freak the fuck out.

Not only because I was pregnant, though.

But because who I’d gotten pregnant by.

  And when, for that matter.

I was sure they wouldn’t be too happy to learn that I’d conceived during a prison riot…

I took two more steps toward the counter when I felt Sarge’s nose practically up my butt as he nudged me even closer.

“Hey!” I yelped at Sarge. “I’m going, I’m going!”

“See, even a dog thinks you have no balls,” Johnny continued.

I looked at the test and felt a happy flutter of excitement roll through me.

“So what’s it say?” Johnny pushed.

  SIN

I honestly didn’t expect to be in here much longer.

Lynn, my new boss for the foreseeable future, was making it happen.

  I would be getting out.

  Four years early.

  It felt… freeing.

So when they said I had a visitor, I fully expected that visitor to be Lynn.

Who I did not expect it to be was Blaise.

When I saw her from behind the plexiglass wall, I felt my lungs constrict and my heart start to pound.

Remembering the way she felt in my arms, the way she tasted and smelled, was enough to bring me to my knees.

Good thing I was fucking sitting.

  I’d missed her.

I’d missed seeing her. Smelling her. Tasting her. Hell, just looking at her from across the yard.

“How did you get in here?” I asked the moment she sat down. “It’s not visiting day.”

She looked around as if she was calculating everything with a couple of swift glances.

“I work here now,” she admitted.

I felt things inside of me stretch to life.

“I’m not going to be here much longer,” I admitted. “I’m getting out in a couple of days. Hell, it could be tomorrow at this point. And I thought we decided last time that once was all it could ever be.”

She looked at me curiously. “I know. Honestly, that’s why I’m telling you now and not waiting. I don’t want you to follow me.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” I asked curiously.

“It means that I have something to tell you, and I have a feeling that you’ll want me around, even if you don’t want anything to do with me,” she continued. “And my brother’s close to here. I… he’s letting me stay in one of his rental houses for the time being. I start here.” She gestured with her finger. “In a week.”

  I frowned.

“Why are you thinking you will need to be close?” I asked, trying to sound aloof and apparently succeeding by the crestfallen look on her face.

I mean, other than I really fucking wanted her close.

Not that I would ever tell her that.

I didn’t need to encourage her.

I didn’t need to encourage myself.

But knowing that after I got out, she’d be only a hop and a skip away from me, was damn terrifying.

These bars were the only thing keeping me in check.

  When they weren’t there anymore…

  “I’m pregnant.”

  I hadn’t heard her correctly.

“I’m sorry, what?” I asked, thinking I’d misheard but knowing in my gut that I hadn’t.

“I’m pregnant,” she repeated. “About six weeks. I… I thought you might want to know.”

With that, she stood up and left, not looking back.

By the time that I’d processed her words, she was already past the security gate and wouldn’t be able to hear me call out.

  I tried anyway.

  I was right.

  She didn’t hear me.

  CHAPTER 6

My brother started unloading the dishwasher before I asked, and I’ve never been more confused in my life.

  -Sin’s secret thoughts

  SIN

  Four days later

“Where are you going to go on your first day on the outside?” Cora, my big brother’s wife, asked.

She’d been the one to pick me up from the prison.

I hadn’t told anyone that I was getting out, and she was the first person I could remember the phone number of.

The first stop I needed was to go get my truck and motorcycle from Coke’s garage. The second I needed to go get my driver’s license renewed. My third would be trying to find Blaise.

But I knew that Cora could help me with that, too.

“My motorcycle. My driver’s license. Then I need to find a girl,” I said, turning my head. “I need help finding Johnny’s sister, Blaise.”

Her eyes widened. “What do you need help finding her for?”

  Cora knew the whole story.

She knew why I’d gone down for what I’d gone down for.

She knew that Blaise was the reason why, just like she knew that I should probably stay away from her seeing as the last time I was around her—at least to her knowledge—I’d gotten sent to prison for a lot of years.

“Well…” I paused. “So she was a prison guard. You know that, right?”

“Yes.” She paused. “Oh, fuck. You’re going to tell me that I’ve just helped you break out of prison, aren’t you? That’s why I had to meet you in the back. It’s also why you’re wanting to get to your fast motorcycle and explains why you didn’t call Coke. Because you knew that I would help you without question.”

I patted her on the arm.

“I didn’t break out of prison,” I explained through a chuckle. “I got out early because there’s a guy that needs my particular set of skills, and he knows people in high places. People that are presidents and shit. I was pardoned officially. I need to get to Blaise because… I’m not ready to tell anyone yet. But just know that we have some things to discuss, and it needs to be done sooner rather than later.”

She breathed out a sigh of relief.

“I mean, I would’ve totally taken you wherever you needed to go. I would’ve had to leave my husband and kids behind, though, when I went to jail. You know I never supported you taking that plea deal.” She narrowed her eyes at me in a scowl.

I rolled my eyes at her. “I know. But… it was the better end of the bargain for me. I was going down for it. I might as well go down for it for fewer years.”

Which was exactly what I’d done.

  I knew the rules.

I knew what I was getting myself into.
