Sydney wrapped her legs around my waist. Her lips ferociously took mine. “I love you so much.” Sydney’s fingers caressed my bearded face. “I don’t ever want to endure such horror again. You are my life, Sebastian.” Her eyes glassed over.

I circled inside her. Sydney’s eyelids hooded. “You’ve always known how important you are to me. I’d die for you.”

She halted her movements and punched my shoulder. “Put me down. I don’t want to hear you say that, Sebastian.”

My brow wrinkled. “What! I’m not releasing you.”

She shoved her hands into my chest. “Now.”

I slid her off my cock. Her chest rose and fell as she turned and stepped out of the jacuzzi.

She was upset because the moment I walked into the warehouse I risked my life for her and Caden. Sydney was in a fragile state. She desperately wanted our life to return to normal. Whatever normal was for us. We’ve rarely ever had normal. Only the three months after we moved to L.A.

I grabbed a towel out of the pool storage container and dried my body. After I cleaned up the backyard in the nude, I stalked up the wide white and black, marble staircase. Sobs and sniffling spilled into the hallway outside our master suite. The oversized mahogany double doors were a jar. I slipped inside, placing the fruit platter, champagne, and glasses on the round dark wood table. The burnt orange and yellow light sky flooded the room. The blankets were pulled up to Sydney’s neck. She clutched the pillow, peering out the large window. Our bedroom windows were like a one-way mirror, we could see out, but no one could see in. I peeled back the blanket, climbing in behind her, nuzzling my nose into her neck. “Talk to me.”

“When you walked into that warehouse… then it later exploded. A piece of my heart imploded.”

“I know you don’t want to hear this, but if we both walked into that building what were the odds, we both would have survived?” I turned her in my arms. “Didn’t make sense for Caden to lose two parents. Deep down, Sydney you know that. Rather, you want to hear it or not, I’d die for you again.”

Tears slid down the side of her face, tapping the pillow and her lips trembled. “I know you’re right. One of us needed to remain behind for Caden. I wish you never walked in there. You can’t face her head on again. We need a better strategy. You can’t reason with her.” Sydney’s eyes closed. “Sebastian, I-I hate the thought of losing you for good. I didn’t mean to fly off the handle.”

“I understand, Sydney.” My hand smoothed over her damp locks.

Her leg slipped over my ass and Sydney’s lips pecked mine. “My soul aches when we aren’t together.” Her fingers grazed my muscled arm. “I could watch you walk around naked every day.”

“Oh, yeah?” My lips swept across her nose.

She grinned. “I’ll settle on watching your cock swing back and forth as you walk around our bedroom.”

I shoved my nose into her neck until she was flat on her back. “Watching you walk around naked sends the blood flowing to the head of my dick quick.” I slid my hands up her arms as I slowly licked her collar bone. Sydney’s toes massaged my ass. I cupped her breasts, sucking her taut nipple into my mouth. “We needed this time, baby.”

  “Sebastian, we did.”

She circled her wet pussy against my chest. I continued on my path toward her goodness. I teased her other nipple. My fingers caressed the underside of her globes the size of melons.

“No more serious talk. All I want to do is taste your sweet pussy. It’s been too fucking long,” I breathed against her stomach.

She tousled my locks. “It has.” Sydney’s legs spread wider. I shoved the blanket aside as I dipped my nose against her clit. Her back arched and her fingernails dug into my shoulders.

  “Baby, shit,” she muttered.

Sydney bucked her pussy into my mouth.

“That’s right, give Daddy that sweet pussy I love so much.” I circled my tongue around her clit. Forming a V with my fingers I slithered my tongue into her slick, tight hole.

“Oh, fuck me,” she moaned, gripping my hair.

  “Baby, I’m gonna come.”

“Not yet, sweetheart.” I licked up and down her folds then sucked her clit.

Her legs slammed shut around my head. “I can’t hold it!” She screamed.

I bit her clit and her sweet cream gushed into my greedy mouth. “Damn it, baby. You taste so fucking good,” I growled.

“Sebastian,” she yelled. Her trembling legs went limp.

I’d been longing to taste her pussy for weeks. Finally, I was where I wanted to be sucking, Sydney’s little bud between her pink lips.

“Shit, I missed your pussy. I want you to come again.” I hooked two fingers inside her quivering pussy.

“Sydney, open your eyes and watch.” I sucked her labia as I attacked her G-spot.

“It’s too much. I think I might pass out.” Her fingers released my hair, falling against the bed. Sydney’s body convulsed under my hold.

“Babe, I-I can’t see straight.” Her brows bunched together.

I flashed a devilish smile. “Good.”

Flicking the tip of her clit my eyes never left hers.

“Oh, oh, shit. Fuck that’s amazing.” Her eyelids hooded. “You’re so gifted with your…tongue.”

My lips pressed against the side of her stomach. She couldn’t catch her breath fast enough.

“Sydney, calm down.” I hovered over her.

  “Sebastian, I am trying.”

Gripping her thighs, I plunged my thick, long cock into her pulsating goodness.

My eyes clenched shut. “Motherfucker,” I grunted.

“Baby, your pussy is gripping my dick so tight,” I whispered against her lips.

She smiled. “Good to know.” Her tongue slipped past my lips. Sydney’s tongue covered every inch of my mouth tasting my addiction.

  “You taste good, don’t you?”

“Yes.” She sucked my bottom lip.

I sat back on my knees, placing her legs against my chest, circling inside her.

“Yeah, that’s right. Take every inch of this good cock.”

She licked her lips, caressing her breasts.

I dropped her legs pulling her close. I swatted the pillows aside on the California king. “Turn around and grip the headboard.”

My fingers swept across her soft skin as I lowered her onto my cock. “Kiss me.”

Her head bounced against my shoulder as our lips tangled.

  “Ride me good, sweetheart.”

She rotated that pretty brown ass again and again. “Just like that.” I was in heaven. Being deep inside her with no restrictions felt freeing. The restrictions I placed on myself I might add. Afraid to impregnate my wife. Now I couldn’t wait for Sydney to become pregnant with our second child.

“Grip one of your tits with one hand and rub your clit with the other. Time for multiple orgasms. We’re having another baby.” I licked the side of her face, clutching the top of the headboard.

“You’re all I ever wanted, Sydney.”

“Sebastian.” She grabbed my hand, circling my fingers over her clit. Her hand rested on mine.

“There’s no place I’d rather be than right here with you,” she moaned into my mouth.

Sydney’s eyes shot open and her body shuddered against my muscled frame.

  “Yes, so freeing,” she murmured.

“No more moping, baby. If that wasn’t clarification, I’m alive and kicking I don’t know what is.”

The ends of her lips curled and her amber eyes marveled my green ones.

  “Damn, right you are, Sebastian.”

  CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

  SYDNEY

The day Sebastian returned to the office in early September my stomach was in knots. Pacing the floor, bouncing Caden on my hip, I glared at my cell. I should call him. No Sydney. Everything will be ok.

I swiped up my phone, scrolled through recent contacts and pressed send.

  “Hello, Dr. Berm
an’s office.”

“Hi, is the doctor in? This is Mrs. Johansen.”

  “Yes. Hold please.”

I kissed Caden’s fat cheek as the elevator music played in my ear. Jacob and Samantha recommended her. They said she helped them through all their difficult times in their relationship.

“Good morning Mrs. Johansen. How are you feeling?”

“Morning. I feel like my throat’s closing.”

  Caden babbled against my face.

“Place your son in a safe place so I can help you manage your anxiety.”

  “Ok.”

I placed Caden in the playpen in the middle of the living room. He grabbed his little teddy bear and sank his gums into him.

  “I’m ready.”

“Good. Today is a big day. Your husband returned to work. Have you called him?”

“No. I’ve considered calling for the last two hours. I need to know he’s all right.”

“I understand the level of trauma that’s taken place in your lives, but you cannot walk through life worrying.”

Pulling my legs underneath me on the sofa, I stared across the spacious room.

“If his level of trauma wasn’t so severe, I could focus.”

“Not true. You can do this. Take a deep breath in. then blow it out. Remember you may call him once in the morning and once in the afternoon. And don’t reveal a level of panic in your voice once you speak to him. You are making great progress in our sessions. You will make it through the day. Remember what I said. Manage your routines and occupy yourself with other activities.”

“You’re right. I don’t have a staff yet so I can manage household chores. Thanks. I’m relaxed now.”

“It was no problem. If you need to talk again today, I will be available at two.”

  I smirked. “All right. Goodbye.”

  Knock, knock. Knock, knock.

I threw my cell on the sofa and scurried to the bomb shelter door.

  “Who is it?”

“Really? Who else would it be?” Samantha huffed.

I opened the door, then stalked toward the kitchen. “Coffee or tea?”

  “Vodka.”

I laughed, peeking over my shoulder. “Funny, Sam.”

“Hello, little man.” Her dark ponytail swayed back and forth as she kissed Caden’s messy curls.

“Tea’s fine.” She settled in at the oversized kitchen counter.

“I finally have you alone. I thought he’d never let you out of his sight.”

I grinned. “Neither one of us wanted to be away from the other. We’re finally in a good place.”

I placed a mug under the hot water dispenser.

“It was obvious the sex was amazing the morning after Caden spent the night. You were all smiles. Have you two fucked on the regular?”

I blushed resting my elbow on the counter. “Yes. I feel like all I want to do is fuck his brains out every day.”

“Nothing’s wrong with that. If I’m well rested, I’ll wait for Jacob in the shower before he leaves for the studio.”

My eyes widened. “Shit, you guys were supposed to be in Canada for part of the summer.” I dropped a tea bag in the hot water and sat the mug in front of her.

“It’s ok, Sydney. Jacob will survive.” Her smile dropped.

  “Are you sure?”

“He needed that one month in Canada to recharge before the new season begins.”

“Maybe you guys should leave for a couple of weeks.”

“We can’t. I am planning Tony’s birthday party slash baby shower soon.” She pinched her forehead with three fingers.

I slammed my palms on the counter. “Go home pack up your family and fly to Canada for the week.”

I grasped her hands. “Hey, look at me.”

Her worried eyes met mine. “You and Jacob have been there for everyone. The last thing any of us want is to watch your marriage disintegrate because you and your husband didn’t take care of each other.”

“You’re right. He needs me. This new season is pretty dark. Gosh, I came here to comfort you and you turned the tables.”

  “What’s family for?” I smiled.

“I will carve out time for our girl talk at Tony’s party. We’ll welcome the new ladies into our circle. Nadine, Sierra, and Carmen. The Mob Wives. I think Sierra really enjoyed our talk at the safe house.”

I chuckled. “Oh, I know she did.”

She sipped her tea. “Are you sure you’ll be all right while we’re gone?”

  “Yes.”

“Call Denise if you need her.”

I stepped around the counter, hooking my arms around her neck. “You’re the best cousin a girl could have. I love you.”

She squeezed me. “I love you too.”

Arms locked we strolled toward the door.

  “Are you pregnant yet?”

“We’ll find out tonight. I have three pregnancy tests. Hopefully they’ll be positive results.”

“Ok, let me know the moment you find out.”

  “I will.”

“Bye, Caden.” She waved over my shoulder, then disappeared down the corridor.

I sank into the sofa deep in thought.

Sebastian and I met with Dr. Berman once a week. My two-hour private sessions were also once a week. I laid out our life to Dr. Berman with discretion.

“Sydney, you understand Sebastian had no control over Stephanie’s actions?”

I paced the bamboo hardwood floors. “Yes.” I peered at Dr. Berman. She sat posed in the oversized yellow statement piece of furniture smack in the middle of our massive living room.

“Why go through great lengths to pull a man back into your life who doesn’t want you?”

“You said they’ve known each other since high school, right?”

“She may have felt she knew him better than anyone. She may have thought your relationship was a phase.”

My brow rose. “True. I left him in Miami. He drove himself into the ground trying to find me. Once he did, Sebastian wouldn’t stop telling me he loved me. I was literally sick without him. I felt like a tree stripped of one of her branches. The second we reconnected the healing begin.” I combed my fingers through my hair and sighed. “She pulled our invisible strings without us knowing. Our life was ripped apart again and this time it was her doing. I thought I lost the love of my life forever. Sebastian found me. I refused to lose him again. This time I was ready for her. That treacherous bitch pulled out all the stops. The second I released and exhaled she knocked me off my game. She kidnapped our son.” I plopped on the sofa, gripping my hair.

“Should I wait to join the session?” Sebastian’s deep voice bounced off the walls.

I glanced across the room. Sebastian stood against the archway wall; hands stuffed in his jeans front pockets.

  “Sydney?” Dr. Berman’s eyebrows rose.

“Join us.” I stretched my hand out toward him.

Dr. Berman and Sebastian greeted each other.

  “Sydney, continue,” Dr. Berman stated.

  Sebastian massaged my back.

“I’ve always wanted a child. I babysat the neighbors’ children growing up. I guess you could say I’d always been a little bossy too.” I smirked.

“Sebastian and I wanted a family.” A tear slid down my cheek. “In the moment I awakened childless I panicked. I thought of the worse possible outcome every two seconds. I just wanted him back safe. To learn Stephanie was behind my sons kidnapping fueled my rage.” Sebastian gripped my back, warning me to choose my words carefully. We discussed what we could and couldn’t say to the doctor before our session.

“Sebastian talked to Stephanie. He persuaded her to give Caden back to us.”

“Sebastian, how did you feel when you learned your ex-girlfriend kidnapped your child?”

Leaning forward he linked his fingers between his knees. “Baffled. I couldn’t believe she’d go to such lengths to regain my attention.”

  “How did you persuade h
er to walk away?”

“I told her Sydney was my wife and I wouldn’t ever leave her. I told Stephanie it was time for her to move on. That was the last day I heard from her.”

“Sydney, how did you feel after that horrific turn of events?”

“Grateful, but bitter. I was always, looking over my shoulder. Wondering would someone try to steal my child again. When a person kidnaps your child and you don’t know if you’ll ever see their little faces again…you feel helpless. You don’t know what that does to a mother. I picked fights with Sebastian every day. All I saw was his connection to the woman who stole our baby.”

  I closed my eyes.

  “Sydney, look at me.”

  I peered into her eyes.

“Sebastian’s Caden’s parent too. It didn’t matter the connection he shared with Stephanie. He loved his son too. Sebastian tell Sydney how you felt.”

I could feel his eyes on me as I studied the floor.

“I felt alienated for a situation I had no control over. I couldn’t undo what happened. All I could do was assure you, I’d do all I could to protect our son and you.”

I placed my hand in his. “I am so sorry. I was wrong.”

  “No.” Our eyes locked.

“You weren’t. You’d do anything to protect our son. I love the fight in your heart when it comes to the people you love. I have no doubt you’d protect me too.”

He knew I would, and I had. Stephanie’s body was deep in the desert, rotting away. I had enough of her, inflicting pain on my family.

Dr. Berman crossed her slender legs. “Sydney, tell Sebastian how he makes you feel.”

My face brightened. “You love with your entire heart. I feel special. Even when I blamed you day in and day out, I knew you loved me. My goal is to become a better wife to you. Sebastian, you deserve the best.”

“Sebastian, your turn,” Dr. Berman urged.

He swept a few strands of hair out of my face. “I was obsessed with you. I’d stop at nothing until you were my wife.” His lips ticked upward at one end.
