I looked around our cottage. We ended up accepting a sleigh move of Cliff’s stuff as a mating gift from Santa, so we’d only had to order a few things, such as the stuff for our cats. Three cats, as it turned out, a bonded older trio whose owner had sadly passed away months prior. One of them was blind, and there were three of them the shelter refused to split up, so they’d waited over a hundred days before Cliff went to the shelter and fell in love. I fell in love the moment I saw them, too, and knew they were always meant to be our furever kitty children. Wynkem, Blynkem, and Nod were sheer purrfection.
“The place looks great!” Sprinkles said, also looking around. “I just wanted to say congratulations, again, Bauble.”
“Thanks, Sprinkles. And I love the pot holders!” I said, holding his gift aloft. “You go tomorrow, you said?”
“Yup,” he grimaced. “Over to Bunnyville, to join my mate. My transfer came through. I’m to train in egg hiding.” He sighed. “They wouldn’t let her transfer back here.”
“Ah well, I’m sure it’s not as bad as everyone thinks. Just different,” I reassured him.
He brightened at that. “You think so? That’s what she said, too. That it’s not bad like they say here, just different.”
“Yep,” I said, though I was not at all convinced one hundred percent. I mean, they worked in warm weather!
“Hey, babe!” my mate’s voice boomed out as he came through the front door. “I passed the test! You are now looking at the newest NORAD Santa-lite Interface tech!” He spotted Sprinkles. “Oh, hi, Sprinkles!”
“Hi,” he replied shyly. “I was just leaving, anyways, so congratulations!” Sprinkles scurried out.
“He as to go pack to go to Bunnyville tomorrow,” I explained. I walked over to my mate. “I was naughty again today,” I confessed.
“Oh, yes?”
“I ate that last piece of Black Forest cake that was yours.”
“Oh, you are definitely getting a spanking for that one.”
I knew that was a promise he’d keep, and what would come afterwards. “I couldn’t help it. My hands had picked it up and stuffed it in my mouth for a bite before I could stop them!”
“Then it sounds like someone needs to learn to control their hands.”
“The restraints came,” I told him breathlessly.
“Just in time, it sounds like.”
“Yes, Daddy,” I purred, setting the pot holders down. I was ready for my punishment.

About the Author
Leona is an Army Brat turned veteran, and a longtime staunch supporter of human rights and environmental causes. Her favourite genre to read is M/M fiction and she particularly enjoys the science fiction, fantasy, and action/suspense subgenres—especially if they have a nice seasoning of romance.
She has far too many books on her Kindle, has overloaded her phone with even more and, when not reading, writing, being driven to distraction by her children, or being overlorded by her eight cats and two Newfoundlands, can be found trying to locate the portal that the sock monster uses to steal socks from her dryer.
