The Mason Walker Bundle 3 Page 39

by Alex Howell

Jason then continued, “So if life throws you a few bad actors—a few human lemons if you will—just make the best of it and turn them into lemonade!”

Ironically, it was just at that moment that the waiter decided to return to their table to ask, “Alright sir—have you at least decide what it is you would like to drink?”

To which Jason couldn’t help but reply, “How about some human lemonade?”

With a completely bewildered look on his face, the Waiter repeated, “Human lemonade?”

Clara felt bad for the waiter, but seeing the look of confusion on his face, she couldn’t help but laugh.

Finally fed up, the waiter simply turned around, and muttered, “I don’t get paid enough for this shit…” Before heading back into the kitchen.

Jason grinning at his departure, looked at Clara and asked, “Is it something I said?”

Clara freely smiling for the very first time that evening, replied, “Don’t worry, he’ll be back. He’s probably just counting his lemons.”

It’s like breathing. I don’t even need to try.

I was born to be a Navy Seal.

I knew it was my calling and wasted no time in joining up.

I love every bit of it.

But I never knew I would ever want this...

A calm, quiet day. Away from it all, including my brothers.

Just to be with her. Bree.

The thought of her name makes my knees weak.

How could someone have so much power over me?

The navy didn’t prepare me for this.

And I never thought making a choice could be so hard.

What do you do when love is standing between you and the country you vowed to protect?

War brought me in. Will love push me out?
