“It’s embarrassing. I’ve—” Andries closed his eyes and shook his head.

  “What?”

“When I was selling myself, there were people who wanted to watch. The one time I was arrested for public sex but got off because it was with a republican senator, it was degrading. I just—”

“Oh, God, I’m so sorry. I didn’t even think about your past. I never want you to feel guilty or embarrassed about our love.”

“Love?” Andries blinked up at him.

Lafferty blew out a breath. He was about to say something when Gresh stepped out of the house.

“Have you seen Lane?” Gresh looked agitated.

  “He’s in the barn.”

Gresh laughed. “I’ve still got it. Lane texted me a few minutes ago and asked me to search for him. Once I find him, he said he’d give me a blow job.”

“I don’t need to hear that,” Lafferty said.

“Best blowjobs I’ve ever gotten have been in the barn.” Gresh stepped down the stairs, moving slowly toward the barn. “I’m gonna need another nap after this,” he called out over his shoulder.

They watched Gresh head to the barn, both of them holding back laughter. “Oh God, I think we’ve unleashed a beast,” Lafferty said.

“So you don’t think they hate me?” Andries whispered.

“No.” Lafferty cupped Andries’ cheeks. “They like you. Actually, they like you a lot.”

  “Are you sure?”

“Positive. They don’t hate you at all.”

Lafferty pulled his man close. He’d got them into an impossible situation, and now he had to find a way out. If only he hadn’t gone to the meeting. But there were a lot of if onlys that would have ruined his life. If he hadn’t been planning on attending the meeting with Andries’ father, he would have left New York and headed to London or California or maybe Mexico City. He wouldn’t have been at the apartment, and he never would have met Andries. The thought made him sad. The idea of not knowing Andries was too much. Somehow, he’d find a way to really make the man his.

  Chapter Six

Andries wanted to hide, but it was family time. They were eating leftovers and desserts while sitting around the firepit. The sky had a million stars, more than he’d ever seen, and the air was cool but not cold. It was perfect. Then Lane asked the question he was dreading most.

“Lafferty, it’s time you tell us how you met.”

He wished he’d never lied to his dad, but now they were stuck in the lie. “I was homeless.” Andries liked being in the dark. The firelight was enough; he could make out a little of the other people’s expressions, but the inky black of the night hid the worst of it from him.

“It was storming, and he’d leaned up against my door.” Lafferty reached out and took his hand.

“The cops had raided the area where I camped. I ran. Lafferty’s place looked empty. I just needed to get out of the rain for a moment.” He turned to look into Lafferty’s eyes. Was love what he saw in Andries’ gaze? It was something close to love. His heart swelled. He just might end up falling for this man.

“I told him to shower,” Lafferty said.

  “I stank.”

“And I gave him new clothes to wear.” Lafferty took a swig of his beer.

“He was so nice. No one had been nice since my parents kicked me out when I was seventeen. Everyone wanted something from me, mostly sex, and Lafferty didn’t want anything. He just wanted to help me.”

“At first, we didn’t even kiss,” Lafferty said. “I kept him at a distance, and we grew to be friends. Then…”

“Then he kissed me, or I kissed him.” Andries couldn’t say more because emotions had snuck up, closing his throat.

Lafferty held his gaze, his love shining through. “We belong together. I knew it from a few days in. We are supposed to be together.”

Gresh stood with the help of his cane and moved to Andries. He stuck out his hand, and Andries stood, unsure of what was happening.

“I can’t think of a better man to join Lafferty. Thank you.” Gresh’s arms wrapped around him and held him for a long moment before Lane joined them in the hug.

When they stepped back. Lane and Gresh had tears in their eyes. Andries felt like a schmuck for lying to them. But it wasn’t all a lie, just the timing and the fact they weren’t actually married. He did feel things for Lafferty.

Lafferty pulled him close and kissed the side of his head. He shivered, thinking tonight they would be in bed together, holding each other. What if Lafferty changed his mind? God, this was so confusing.

“Well, I’ve loved hanging out with you, and Andries, it was awesome meeting you.” Matthew pulled him in for a hug. “Be nice to my brother,” Matthew whispered in his ear before stepping back. “I’m going to come visit you two soon.”

  “Sure,” Andries said.

“We’d love that.” Lafferty hugged his brother.

“You’re already leaving?” Lane asked Matthew.

“I’ve got something I have to do. I called a car to pick me up. They’ll be here in about ten minutes.”

“Someone could have driven you back to Houston,” Gresh said.

“No. It’s Christmas day. The company I called assured me their driver isn’t celebrating Christmas and is happy to have the money. I’m going to tip him big. Don’t worry, he’s happy to get a fare tonight.”

Andries stepped away while Lane and Gresh clung to Matthew. Lafferty joined in on the hug as well as Daniel, their little brother. He’d not had family love, but then again, Lafferty hadn’t until he’d moved here.

They made their way into the house, and before Matthew walked out, he came over, his gaze serious. “Take care of Lafferty. He had it hard, but you’ve been on the streets, so you know.” The hug from Lafferty’s brother was quick. “Oh, and if you need anything, call the number I gave Lafferty and leave a message. I don’t answer that phone, but I do check for messages.”

“Thank you,” Andries said. “And I’ll call if we need something.”

“Good, now be a good boy and help Lafferty figure his shit out. He needs you. I see it in his eyes.”

Andries sucked in a breath and nodded. Lane and Gresh walked Matthew out. They didn’t seem happy Matthew was taking off.

Lafferty frowned. “I wish Matthew would stick around.”

“He seems mysterious. Notice how he didn’t answer any questions about his job or where he lived?” Andries asked.

“Yeah, I’m not sure I want to know what he does for a living.

“Hey, Lafferty, wanna play pool?” Daniel called out from the other side of the room.

Lafferty’s lips turned up. “Sure thing, pipsqueak.”

“I’m not that little,” Daniel complained.

“No, you’re not. But you’ll always be my little brother.”

“How about more cake,” Jump asked as he moved close to Andries.

He shook his head, his stomach aching because he was so full. “I can’t eat more.”

“I’ve probably had enough too.” Jump’s smile looked genuine.

“Daniel, let’s clean up outside first,” Lafferty said before the kid got too far into the other room.

“Awww, I really wanted to play.” Daniel sounded like a typical kid.

“It’ll only take a moment,” Bruce said as he headed outside and grabbed a plate.

Andries followed them and helped them clean and wash dishes before he moved to the pool room and watched Daniel and Lafferty rack up. He’d only played a few times in his life. It seemed like Lafferty and Daniel knew what they were doing.

Lane and Gresh came in and sat near him. It would be awkward to get up and move, plus he didn’t really want to. He was full, something he hadn’t experienced much in the last few years. A thought struck, and tears filled his eyes, spilling out and running down his cheeks. He tried to hide his emotions but failed.

Lane moved close and reached out to hold his hand. He was relieved when Lane didn’t say an
ything. Explaining to Lafferty’s dad he was a fake wasn’t something he ever wanted to do.

It took him a while to calm down. He hadn’t really contemplated what it would be like to spend Christmas with a family, even if the family wasn’t really his.

“Hey dads, did Matthew’s car already leave?” Lafferty asked.

  “Sure did,” Gresh called out.

Lafferty came closer and paused, his eyes narrowing. Lafferty pulled him to standing and whispered sweet words to him he didn’t deserve.

“Hey Daniel, why don’t you show me your newest video game,” Gresh said.

Then they were alone, Lafferty holding him, him sobbing on Lafferty’s shoulder. It took him a long time to calm.

  “What’s up?” Lafferty asked.

“This is the first time since I turned seventeen I’ve had a Christmas. I don’t know what to say or do. I’m not starving, and I’m not having to fuck someone who is paying me.”

Lafferty’s hold tightened. “Babe, you’re awesome.”

Andries shook his head. “I don’t feel awesome.”

Lafferty’s lips trailed from his forehead to his lips. The kiss was slow, not desperate at all, but it built a raging fire inside Andries.

Lafferty pulled back. “They want us to sleep in one of the back bedrooms near their rooms. Are you going to be comfortable so close to the others?”

“What choice do we have?” Andries asked.

“I can grab a key for one of the cabins. We’ll just have to clean it before we leave.”

  “They won’t mind?”

“No babe. As long as we clean it, we’ll be good.”

Andries nodded and followed Lafferty to grab their bags then find a key before they snuck out to one of the cabins far away from the main house. They stepped inside, and Andries froze. The cabin wasn’t rustic; instead, it was luxurious. His gaze whipped to Lafferty.

  “This is too much.”

“No babe, for our first time, this is just right.”

His hands started to shake, and he cringed. He wasn’t a virgin by any stretch, but he was nervous at the prospect of being with Lafferty. This wasn’t some guy who would treat him impersonal.

“Your hands are shaking,” Lafferty said.

“I don’t want you to hate me.”

Lafferty shook his head. “I won’t ever hate you.”

“But I’m basically a prostitute. I’m not worthy.”

“No baby, you’re a man who I care for. With me, you’re never a prostitute. You’re the guy I want in my bed, in my life. I want to take care of you.”

The words made his throat close. His emotions were too much. How could any one man bring so much to his life and leave him feeling like he deserved to have some good?

Lafferty pulled off his shirt and kicked off his shoes before shoving his pants low. Andries pulled up his shirt, but Lafferty stopped him.

“Later,” Lafferty said. “Right now, I just want to make you feel good.”

“How?” Andries asked as his gaze feasted on Lafferty.

“I’m going to slowly undress you as I lick and touch your body. Then when you’re ready, you’re going to slide in and fuck me until I can’t breathe.”

“You really want me to fuck you?”

“As long as you don’t mind,” Lafferty’s voice was low and filled with passion. “Guys usually want to use me.”

Lafferty shook his head. “Baby, I’ll never use you.”

He drew in a deep breath, trying to find some calm. Lafferty was a good man, and Andries knew he didn’t deserve him. The kiss Lafferty delivered took his mind. He was being treated to amazing touches and kisses. He was spinning out of control. Lafferty slowly lifted Andries’ shirt and licked up his abs to his pecs. The way Lafferty teased his nipples made Andries’ balls so tight he had to force himself to breathe. Then Lafferty dropped to his knees and rubbed his mouth over Andries’ cloth-covered dick. He was in heaven. This was better than any sex he’d had before.

Lafferty slid Andries’ zipper low and pulled out his cock, licking it from the base to the tip. He could see what Lafferty was doing. His man was naked, not one stitch of clothes on, and Andries was still fully dressed. He’d been subject to this power-play time and time again. Businessmen would be all three-piece suited out, coming at him with their cock and usually hairless balls showing, wanting to fuck him so hard he couldn’t breathe or move after they finished. Honestly, he usually faked it, but those guys paid better because their egos were satisfied.

He couldn’t play this game, even from this end. His clothes came off, and he kicked his shoes away as he shoved his pants low. Lafferty watched him while he stroked his cock, his eyes filled with desire.

Lafferty held up a condom and lube. “Fuck me now.”

  “Are you sure?”

“God, yes,” Lafferty said. “I need to feel your thick cock in my ass and see you above me.”

His breath was shallow as he reached for the condom. Lafferty turned him on like no other. His heart raced, and his hands shook as he rolled on the condom. It had been so long since anyone had allowed him to fuck them.

Lafferty was on the bed, his legs lifted, cock hard as he watched every move Andries made. When he positioned himself between Lafferty’s legs, he almost lost it. Somehow he held back his orgasm.

Andries spread some lube and then lined up. He lifted his gaze, staring into Lafferty’s eyes as he pushed in. The pressure stole his breath, and the world around him fuzzed.

Lafferty lifted his hips, and Andries slid in deeper. He saw pain flash over Lafferty’s face, and he paused. “You okay?”

“Fuck, yes. Keep going. I need to feel your cock inside me. I need to have you fucking me hard.”

Andries pushed in little by little, ignoring Lafferty’s pleas for harder. He hit bottom and slid out incredibly slowly, leaving Lafferty gasping for air. Then Andries shoved in hard and fast. Lafferty cried out, spewing begging words as he whimpered for more.

There was no way Andries wanted this over fast, so he slowed down, doing just enough to keep both of them hard, but not enough to get either of them to come.

Lafferty seemed to like his tortuously slow rhythm. He grabbed Lafferty’s balls and squeezed before using his thumb to put pressure on Lafferty’s taint. Lafferty arched off the bed as he cried out.

“Oh, God. Andries, let me come.”

Andries let go of Lafferty’s balls and focused on stroking his taint, pressing at the root of his cock. Lafferty’s mouth was open, his head thrown back. The man was absolutely about to fly apart. Andries needed to move them along, and he grasped onto Lafferty’s cock and stroked him while he pounded in. Lafferty cried out as cum shot to his pecs, coating his belly and lower chest.

Lafferty’s muscles went limp, and Andries took advantage and slammed in hard and fast, pushing himself over the edge. He came in the condom, breathing a sigh of relief after the wave of orgasm finally stopped.

“Good Lord,” Lafferty groaned. His breathing was uneven, and his body was covered in perspiration. “That was the best sex I’ve ever had.”

  Andries lifted his eyebrows. “Really?”

  “Oh, baby, you know it.”

  “I really don’t. I mean…this was different.”

  “How?”

“I care for you,” Andries said. “I didn’t just want to have sex to fuck you; I wanted to bring you pleasure.”

“God, you rubbing below my balls, where did you learn that?”

He chuckled. “You have to remember I was a prostitute. I’ve had sex with all kinds of men. They fucked me in all sorts of ways. There was this guy who wanted me to come first so he could fuck me after I came.”

  “Really?”

“Yeah, he said it should be more painful for me. He wanted me in as much pain as possible without damaging me.”

Lafferty’s lips curled up in a sneer. “Oh, God.”

“Yeah, I was warry of him from then on. I mean, really, fucking someone for pai
n is bound to pass the point of what is safe.”

Lafferty leaned in and kissed him before pulling him up. “Shower with me.”

  “Sure.”

The bathroom was way more beautiful than the apartment where they lived. The blue tile wasn’t too dark, instead, it reflected the light off its shiny surface. Large mirrors made the room even brighter. There was a small light hanging from the middle of the room he thought belonged in a dining room, not a bathroom, but somehow it looked amazing. Every corner of the room was clean, spotless even. The closet was huge. He was amazed by the size of the place. The cabin may have looked rustic on the outside, but it was amazing.

  “It’s beautiful,” Andries said.

Lafferty glanced around. “I guess it is. I like it, but it’s a little too sleek for me.”

“Your family has good decorating taste.”

Lafferty chuckled as he grabbed an extra towel. “Let’s shower. We can admire the bathroom later.”

Andries stepped over to the shower and stared at the enclosure. Lafferty flipped on the water and stepped in. He followed, reveling in the kisses from his man. They cleaned each other, him washing Lafferty’s hair before they dried and slid into bed, drifting off fast.

He woke to an empty bed, and worry hit hard. Then the toilet flushed and the water turned on. After Lafferty finished up, he got up and headed to the bathroom. Lafferty pulled the door open and froze.

“I didn’t mean to wake you,” Lafferty said.

  “It’s okay.”

“Lane wants us over for breakfast. Said he was worried when we weren’t in our bedroom, but then he figured we were in one of the cabins. I told him we wanted to have a little privacy.”

Andries heated. “Oh God, he’s going to think we’re sex-starved perverts.”

“Trust me, he won’t. I’ve walked in on them having sex.”

  “Yikes,” Andries said.

Lafferty chuckled. “Use the restroom and brush your teeth. I’m getting dressed, and I’ll wait for you.”

  “You don’t have to.”
