  “Tell me what you want!” he rasped.

  “You!” she moaned. “Give me everything, Adam!”

  His control broke at her plea and lifting her hips, he drove into her with a force that pushed her backwards against the bed! He closed his eyes as her tightness wrapped around him, his heart pounding inside his chest, his body so riddled with heat that he felt it pouring through every inch of his body! She moved first and then he mirrored her movements, the thrust long and deep as he buried himself inside her before pulling back out, slowly at first and then with increasing ardor as she moved with him, her body restless, seeking for the release that they both needed! But he did not want that yet! He wanted to prolong the exquisite ecstasy that went hand in hand with their coupling! He wanted to stay inside her and never come back out until they were one and would always be one! His lips took hers in a searing kiss, firing her blood and increasing the passion that was already proving to be too much for them! Before long, they were both carried away by the magic that transported them to another dimension that had them spinning out of control!

  “I am listening, Father,” Adam said as he inclined his head regally. Both his father and grandfather had requested a meeting with him when they had called him last night. Adam had gone over to the manor after leaving his wife at his apartment and had told them in a coldly controlled voice that he knew everything and that they had finally gotten what they had hoped to gain because he was choosing his wife over them.

  Now sitting inside his living room with Amber curled into his arms, he faced the two men seated on the opposite end because he had told them that if they wanted to talk to him it would be in his living room or not at all. His father glanced at the woman in his son’s arms and realized that he had been defeated. He also recognized something else! They were happy together and so in love that nothing would ever come between them! “I want to apologize to you and to Amber for the way I – we handled things.” He included the silent grey-haired man seated next to him. “We were only trying to do what we thought was best for you-”

  “My wife is what is best for me and will always be,” he was told coolly by his son.

  “I can see that now.” His father took a deep breath before he continued. “I want to wish you all the best and would like it if you would allow us to show our regret by throwing a party for you and Amber to introduce you to everyone as husband and wife.”

  Adam looked at his father in surprise and then at his grandfather. “Is that what you want?”

  The man nodded. “We are not going to stand in your way again, Adam, and we would like you to take your rightful place in the family as heir to the Whitmore’s fortune.”

  Adam turned to the woman in his arms who had not said anything at all. “Darling, what do you think?”

  “If that is what you want,” she told him, one hand touching his hard cheek. “You know I do not give a damn about the money.”

  A slow smile curved his lips and bending his head he kissed her lips slowly, totally ignoring the two men present. He lifted his head and stared at them “Amber does not give a damn about the money and that is exactly why I am going to give her everything my position as the heir to the fortune entails. We agree to the terms.”

  New Year’s Day

  The manor was ablaze with lights and the snow-covered grounds had not stopped people from coming to party that had been thrown in honor of the newlyweds. The invitations had been sent out to all of Adam’s friends and club members and even though it was New Year’s Day, the response had been tremendous! Photographers were milling around, snapping pictures of the different celebrities present and making special note of the Whitmore family who were standing together in one section of the cavernous room. Adam Whitmore looking incredibly handsome in his black custom-made tux had his arm around the waist of his beautiful wife Amber Whitmore who was wearing one of her own designs: a brilliant blue-green dress that flowed from her shoulders to her ankles and left her arms bare. They showed a united front and people who knew the history of the two families watched in amusement at the efforts the father and grandfather made in including the latest member of the family into the fold. Amber was gracious enough to respond politely for the sake of the man she loved so much and would do anything for!

  Later that night, alone in the apartment she had made her home, she stood in the circle of her husband’s arms as they stayed there at the floor to ceiling window and watched the snowflakes hitting against the pane of glass. Amber leaned back against him and he tightened his arms around her waist. “Happy?” he whispered against her ear.

  “I am trying to think of another word that would be more appropriate,” she whispered back.

  “How about joyful, ecstatic, and wonderfully blessed?”

  She turned her head to look up at him, her expression soft and her eyes blazing with love! “That’s more like it.”
