“So one family gets influence to expand their business while the other gets the money to expand their influence how convenient,” Mathew said sarcastically.
“Indeed it is,” Pramod said to him.
“Why can’t he just force Natasha into this marriage like he always does?” Mathew asked angrily.
“They will be insulted if he just pushed a crying daughter into their arms, it must be done smoothly,” Pramod explained.
“Why me?” he asked Pramod.
“Because you are the one she is most close to Sakshi has given me a great detail about your relationship,” he got up from the seat and took a stroll around the terrace Mathew followed him.
“And what will you achieve by making me her lover?” he asked Pramod.
“Simple we control her by controlling you,” Pramod said.
“You will be dictating our relationship?” Mathew asked him.
“Correct! You see if you break up with her when we say you to she will realize her mistake of not listening to her dad, she’ll see these types of relationships as ones that are bound to fail and will eventually perhaps agree for an arranged marriage as planned,” Pramod told him.
“And if I don’t agree to break up then?” Mathew asked just to be sure.
“Perhaps you will suffer an unfortunate accident then maybe assassinated by Rafiq’s men maybe? It would be awfully convenient and clean,” Pramod clarified.
“You don’t know if he will do that,” Mathew warned him.
“Who said he should do the killing? He will only be blamed,” Pramod said.
“Wow! Talk about an evil dad! Does Sakshi even know about this?” Mathew wondered.
“Are you surprised by my cold personality?” Pramod asked him when he noticed him thinking.
“Not just cold your scary! Maybe even more than your boss,” Mathew answered.
“I was a hit-man once,” he said calmly.
“I find that hard to believe,” Mathew said surprised.
“I was ordered to kill Mr Rodriguez by some business man some decades back,” Pramod explained.
“Okay then how did you end up being his secretary then?” Mathew asked curious.
“It was Natasha!” Pramod said.
“Tell me,” Mathew asked curious now.
“I was ordered to kill Mr Rodriguez, so I decided to do it on Christmas,” Pramod said and Mathew nodded.
“I don’t know if it’s what you Christian’s call it a miracle or not, but on that day when I saw the three of them in that room with her mom cuddling that cute little girl she reminded me of my own baby daughter you see she lost her mom when she was just a baby I just couldn’t do that to Natasha too,” Pramod said.
“And he just took you in after that?” Mathew asked shocked.
That’s why I must protect him and his family because they are special he even treats us like his own family,” Pramod said.
“And he got rid of that business man too I guess right?” Mathew asked.
“No….no I killed him myself can’t have loose ends you know,” Pramod answered laughing.
“I guess I don’t have much of a choice huh?” Mathew asked.
“You have a choice but its not a very good one though,” Pramod informed him.
“Fine I’ll try but I can’t guarantee anything,” Mathew said he though it best be him instead of some stranger.
“Don’t get dragged in though or you’ll end up getting hurt yourself,” Pramod warned him.
“I have half a mind myself actually,” Mathew thought to himself.
Flawless Security
The family got together for dinner after a short prayer that is. Mathew had never seen so much food before it was almost like a wedding banquet. Even the table was no ordinary table there were over a 20 chairs on both sides and one each at the edges it was a very long table indeed. The whole room was designed as a special dinning hall with tables at the corners with all kinds of food and cutlery stored. The family occupied only one corner of the table as they sat to eat. Mr Rodriguez of course occupied the single seat at the edge of the table while others sat at both sides his wife and Pramod at his right and the kids and Mathew at his left. There were 3 waiters standing to help them with anything. Each plate had a candle lit and came with a set of fork, spoon, knife a tissue and a cloth. For what purpose the candles were lit though Mathew couldn’t figure out.
“Are they even human? How do they eat all this just the 5 of them?” Mathew wondered.
“Dig in!” Natasha urged him piling his plate with all kinds of stuff she didn’t even bother to ask him if he wanted those.
“Natasha where are your manners? Let the poor boy choose what he wants himself,” Mrs Rodriguez said.
“Sorry mom,” Natasha apologized.
“Do you guys really eat all these?” he asked them.
“Why are you a vegetarian?” Mr Rodriguez asked him.
“Well no not really but isn’t these a bit too much food for just the 5 of you?” Mathew asked him.
“Oh haha my apologies for the misunderstanding, you see I treat all my employees here as my equals which means they eat what I eat from my table,” Mr Rodriguez clarified.
“Once we finish our dinner our employees can eat at the same table whenever they want that’s why this table is so long,” Pramod explained.
“So potato tell me more about your boyfriend,” Mrs Rodriguez asked her.
Mr Rodriguez looked to Pramod who nodded, Mr Rodriguez smiled after that probably out of satisfaction with himself.
“He took me for granted!” Mathew thought smiling to himself.
“Why do you have to ask me about such stuff in front of everyone!” Natasha thought pretending she didn’t hear.
“Potato?” Mrs Rodriguez asked her again.
“Let her eat in peace babe you can talk about it later,” Mr Rodriguez intervened.
“But its her first love as parents we need to support her in this,” she told him.
“Let’s talk about something useful instead,” he told her.
“This is useful stuff,” Mrs Rodriguez insisted.
“Wow she eating a lot she must be really tensed,” Mathew thought looking at Natasha gobbling food endlessly.
“Why don’t you guys just finished your food and leave already,” Natasha thought, it was a rule that no one leaves the table unless Mr Rodriguez got up.
“He’s is the heir to a hotel chain actually secret kingdom,” Natasha finally talked she hoped to divert her mom’s attention by explaining the less embarrassing stuff and kill time.
“Wow that’s so romantic!” Mrs Rodriguez said and Natasha smiled shyly.
“Peanut what about you have you found a boyfriend?” Mrs Rodriguez asked Sakshi.
“Bulls eye! You deserved that Sakshi,” Natasha thought happy and relieved.
“Me? What?” Sakshi asked pointing a finger at herself.
“Yes you!” Mrs Rodriguez asked.
“I have decided to fully devote myself to studies till my course ends I want no distractions, besides several boys proposed to me but I rejected them I found them boring,” Sakshi declared proudly.
“Yeah right! You proud peacock,” Natasha thought trying to hold her laughter.
“Wow! What a glamorous lair,” Mathew thought in disbelief.
“Even I can’t tell whether its a lie,” Pramod thought.
“Bravo! Natasha you should make her your role model and be like her,” Mr Rodriguez told her while clapping and praising Sakshi’s commitment.
“Natasha cursing and chasing boys I would love to see that!” Mathew thought.
“Oh dad! You don’t even appreciate your own daughter,” Natasha thought.
“You should teach your daughter to have more fun you know or she may end up like you!” Mrs Rodriguez said looking at Pramod.
“My daughter is her own boss madam,” Pramod said smiling.
“By the way when is my toddy coming its been a month already?” Mr Rod
riguez asked referring to the coconut toddy.
“Oh that! Well what can I say, Mr brown he is still in a bad mood,” Mrs Rodriguez said in a sad tone.
“Curse him! Take care of it I want my toddy by tomorrow!” Mr Rodriguez commanded in an angry tone before leaving.
“What is it this time?” Natasha asked.
“I don’t know he has been causing trouble again, apparently he has taken to the coconut trees and has started throwing coconuts down at anyone who gets near them,” Mrs Rodriguez said downcast.
“Wait what?” Mathew thought.
“All the palms tree’s are nearby including those that we use to extract toddy,” Sakshi said.
“Did you just say he climbed a coconut tree and is throwing coconuts now? Are you serious?” Mathew asked surprised and confused and they all nodded.
“So has he lost his screws or something?” Mathew asked.
“Na I don’t think so he is perfectly fine,” Mrs Rodriguez said.
“What a weird fellow!” Mathew thought.
“Don’t worry aunty we’ll take care of it, he always listens to us!” Sakshi reassured with a thumbs up.
“Thank you peanut! You two are always so helpful,” Mrs Rodriguez thanked them.
“I definitely wanna meet this guy whoever he is,” Mathew said.
“You’ll love him he is so adorable!” Natasha said.
“We’ll that’s for tomorrow! Mrs Jennie why don’t you show Mathew his room!” Mrs Rodriguez requested to an employee standing nearby.
“Yes ma’am! This way please,” she said showing Mathew the way.
She took him to a room on the 2nd floor. It was spacious perhaps a bit too spacious for a single person, it had almost everything in there except a kitchen and a dinner table maybe. A Toilet, bathroom, a mini book shelf with books, a desk, a sofa and even a fire place.
“Make yourself comfortable sir,” said the woman before leaving.
He saw his luggage by the sofa “No wonder I couldn’t find it,” Mathew thought starting at it.
He took a seat at the sofa “What in the world am I doing here? This isn’t even my place,” Mathew thought to himself.
Just then he saw a light by the window flashing twice so he went near the window to have a look.
“I’m pretty sure it’s her, she is so silly sometimes,” Mathew thought wondering what Natasha was doing that for.
So he took his phone and gave her a call.
“What is it now?” he asked her.
“Hmmm……can you come over her now?” she said over the phone.
“No I can’t I’ll be kicked out if I get caught,” Mathew said.
“Sakshi is with me here……so you know….you can come,” Natasha said.
“Okay are you sure?” he asked feeling a bit suspicious.
“Yes! But wait don’t use the door find another way!” she said.
“Okay good night I am sleeping!” he said about to hang up.
“Wait!” she shouted over the phone.
“I’m not coming!” he was getting vexed now.
“Sakshi says that there’s no other way to come in here other than through the door,” Natasha said.
“Oh really well she’s wrong!” Mathew enlightened her.
“Then prove it to her! There’s nothing you can’t do right?” Natasha asked him over the phone.
“Sorry I am in no mood,” Mathew replied.
“Pleaseeee!” Natasha pleaded.
“Ah! I can’t believe I am doing this,” Mathew said hanging up.
“Its useless he can’t get in here, the security here is flawless my dad said so himself,” Sakshi declared proudly.
“We’ll see,” Natasha said.
“If I win I get first chance tomorrow,” Natasha reminded Sakshi.
“Ya ya I know,” Sakshi said nervously.
She was worried that if Mathew made it in here then they would have a security breach and her dad would have to take the heat from Mr Rodriguez for the failure. Mr Rodriguez took the safety of his family most seriously especially after his other daughter was kidnapped.
Mathew used the window to climb upwards there were guards roaming down below so he had changed into a black shirt and pant.
“This will be challenging,” he thought.
The building had been beautifully designed from the outside but that was also its flaw it allowed anyone to use the uneven structures to get a grip and slide along the edges. It was an extra help that there was no moonlight.
After half an hour he finally reached Natasha room and knocked at the window, Sakshi gasped in shock.
“See he made it!” Natasha said opening the window.
“Okay time to leave Mathew,” Sakshi commanded.
“Don’t listen to her,” Natasha said pulling him by the arm.
“I can’t believe this what were the guards doing?” Sakshi asked him.
“No one bothered too look at the building they just assumed everyone in there are sleeping soundly,” Mathew informed her.
“Of course how could I have forgotten that,” Sakshi thought.
“Let’s play a game of cards!” Natasha said bringing a pack of cards.
“Aren’t you sleeping?” Mathew asked her.
“No way! When else will we get a chance like this to be together here,” Natasha told him.
“Nice room though,” Mathew said looking around and noticing Natasha’s bra and panties hanging nearby.
“You like it?” Natasha asked him.
“Ya its great but you should find a better place to hang your undergarments,” Mathew advised her.
“Natasha when will you learn?” Sakshi thought doing a facepalm.
“Sorry!” Natasha said trying to hide them under a blanket nearby.
“So when will you people be doing the Christmas decorations?” Mathew asked as they began playing.
“In three days they are very precise,” Natasha said.
“Yep exactly one month before Christmas,” Sakshi agreed.
“Well that’ll be a sight to see,” Mathew thought.
“By the way why did you steal my photo?” Mathew asked Sakshi remembering.
“What are you talking about?” Sakshi asked guiltily.
“Don’t deny that, it’s written all over your face!” Mathew said teasingly.
“I found it in the lab so I thought I’ll give it to you later,” Sakshi said nervously.
“Really? Then why did you give to your dad? You even told him that you had a crush on me,” Mathew lied.
“Th..th…th…that’s a lie!” Sakshi protested.
“I don’t think so tell me how many of my photo’s have you collected in your phone?” Mathew asked.
“Sakshi were you stalking him?” Natasha asked her.
“No I swear I didn’t!” Sakshi said growing tense.
“And here you were accusing me of being a pervert!” Mathew said grinning to himself in satisfaction.
“How many times have I told you not to do that! Its not nice,” Natasha scolded her.
“That’s what you get for spying on me you fox!” Mathew thought to himself.
“You don’t understand it’s complicated,” Sakshi said trying to defend herself.
“Bad girl!” Mathew said trying to muffle his laughter.
“Why you!” Sakshi thought gritting her teeth.
“I need your phone I wanna erase those photo’s,” Mathew said stretching out his hand to her.
“Fuck off! I am not giving you anything,” Sakshi roared fuming.
“Give him your phone Sakshi!” Natasha commanded her.
“No!!” Sakshi shouted holding the phone close to her chest.
Just then someone knocked on the door. Obviously all the noise they were making at night had attracted attention.
“Madam is everything okay in there?” some guy asked her from outside.
“Everything is fine just me and Sakshi having some fun!” Natasha answered.
“It’s getting late miss so please keep your voices down,” said the guy from outside.
“Okay!” Natasha answered.
Mathew in the mean time used the distraction to grab the phone which Sakshi was holding. Before she could respond Mathew jumped out of the window and slide along the edges back to his room. Sakshi couldn’t even scream because she didn’t want him getting caught.
“It’s all your fault!” Sakshi hissed and went to bed.
Mathew got back to his room. He took out the phone as the screen came on it demanded a password.
“Hmm I didn’t think of that lets see,” Mathew thought.
He typed Natasha and a the phone responded with a message password incorrect.
“Okay she is not stupid!” Mathew thought.
So he randomly pressed all kinds of words natsak, rodriguez, pramod then started typing crazy stuff like fuck you, moron etc etc.
“Damn it!” He thought frustrated.
Sex doll he typed in and threw it on the sofa.
A ping sound appeared and the phone was unlocked.
“You gotta be kidding me,” Mathew said out loud as he took and looked at the phone.
“That’s the password she chose?!” Mathew thought surprised as he scrolled down.
He found the images he was looking for but was surprised by the photos.
“These were not taken by Sakshi I am sure of it,” Mathew thought to himself “They have me under surveillance!”
He then decided to look into her messages “Invasion of privacy I can’t believe I stooped so low,” Mathew thought.
“They don’t trust me at all!” Mathew concluded as he threw the phone on the sofa and went to bed.
Mr Brown
Mathew got up late next morning and so decided to get some fresh air. He would usually gets up at 4:00 in the morning and do his regular exercises in his room but decided to go for a jog instead since it was 6:00 already. As he was coming back he found Natasha and Sakshi waiting near the fountain sitting near the statue there was a stone slab just below it.
“And here comes the righteous Mathew!” Sakshi said.
“Hello detective…….tell me have you placed camera’s in my bathroom too?” Mathew asked her throwing her phone at her which she caught clumsily.
