Darkness creeps into my soul. I don't want to leave them to fend for themselves. But we have the children.
Vinny comes on next, "Joey and I talked before we left. We talked about this scenario specifically. We both agreed that we would leave if this happened. He wants us to make it to safety."
Star's bottom lip quivers.
My heart breaks for her. "Hey, he wants it this way. He's Joey. If anyone can make it out there, it's him."
"Joey, we're pushing on. Godspeed," Dean says over the radio.
Vinny pulls the box truck onto the road. We file in behind him. It's only four more hours of driving if we don't run into trouble.
I used to love to drive on the open road, but not now. Not with zombies and crazies out there. "Godspeed my friends. We hope to see you soon."

About the Author
Bonnie Gill grew up in the suburbs right outside Chicago. As a child she loved making up ghost stories at night to scare her sisters and friends around the campfire.
She writes Paranormal Romance and Zombie Apocalypse with a twist of humor. When she isn't writing you can find her on a haunted tour, volunteering at pet rescues, or digging around in her fairy garden waiting for fairies to show.
She lives in North Carolina with her three rescue dogs and her ever patient boyfriend who laughs at all her goofy jokes.
She loves to hear from her readers.

Whack A Zombie
When sisters Mary Moretti and Gina De Luca hit the road to rescue their adult sons from the zombie apocalypse, they’re going to need all the skills they acquired in their past careers as Mafia hitwomen. Mary excels in hand weapons, and Gina may get carried away a bit too often with explosives, but Italian traditions are important, and that means protecting family.
Their U.S. Army trained sons may not need saving, but like it or not, they’re going to have their mothers there to help them survive.
If only they didn’t keep getting sidetracked by folks too weak or inept to protect themselves from not only the zombies, but the remaining scumbag humans preying on other victims.
It’s a constant game of whack a zombie, but along with a pair of ferocious Siamese cats, Mary and Gina are going from outlaws to heroes and having the time of their lives.
