Ryan approached one of the caretakers on the second floor, a middle-aged woman, who like other caretakers of the Martial Skill Pavilion, was an official of the Administrative Department of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan.

“Hello, Senior, I trying to find Avatar Martial Skills,” Ryan asked in a polite manner.

“Follow me,” the caretaker said in an emotionless voice. Ryan nodded his head as he followed her. She and Ryan arrived at a book shelf that was placed in the furthest corner of the second floor. The book shelf was completely packed with Avatar Martial Skill Manuals.

“You will find what you are searching for here,” the caretaker said as she left. Ryan looked at the book shelf for some time before he started to check the descriptions of the Martial Skill Manuals one by one. It would take quite a few hours to go through the descriptions of every single one in the book shelf.

The area around the valley where Isa was busy advancing his Cultivation Level to Early Celestial Elite Realm had become extremely chaotic. Ancestor Liam had arrived some time ago. He had already attempted to enter the valley once, but his mind was severely affected by the Red Baleful aura right after entering it, so he’d been unable to go deep into the valley. He quickly contacted the Main branch of Twilight Demon Kingdom using his Galactic Mental-message transmission orb and informed them about the Baleful aura shrouding the valley.

  Ch.3

“The Main branch will soon send demons far powerful than me to deal with that bastard inside the valley,” Ancestor Liam said in a stern manner after sending his Mental-message transmission. He was a Redback Demon and anyone could see fear within his eyes.

Sabrina and the rest were dumbstruck on hearing such words from Liam and fear popped immediately into their hearts.

“Senior, is there really a demon within the valley that is trying to evolve into an Oblivion Demon?” someone couldn’t help but ask.

“I’m not certain, as I have never seen an Oblivion Demon myself nor felt its Baleful aura before. Its Baleful aura has all the properties that the Baleful aura of an Oblivion Demon possesses, as mentioned in our faction’s ancient texts. I almost lost my mind after I entered the valley and if I’d stayed there longer, my soul would have suffered severe damage. This Baleful aura is most likely of a demon that is in the process of evolving into an Oblivion Demon, given the fact that the Baleful aura is even able to affect me to such an extent. The Baleful aura of Oblivion Demon is only able to affect beings with cultivation level below it in this manner but it is only able to affects beings with cultivation level above it mildly. I should have been able to enter the valley given my cultivation level. The Baleful aura like this can only be released by demons that are in the process of evolving into Oblivion Demon by burning their vitality in order to protect themselves from other beings while evolving. If I am not wrong then the demon is mostly likely in the final stages of evolving into an Oblivion Demon given the viciousness and strength of the Baleful aura,” Liam replied as his body shivered slightly. Given his Cultivation Level of Elite Celestial Realm, he had never expected he would face a death-and-life crisis on Grandura.

Everyone’s expressions turned even more severe upon hearing Liam’s words, as they knew the calamity that the Demon Continent would face if the demon within the valley did successfully evolve into an Oblivion Demon.

“Quickly inform all the demon factions about this matter and also call a high-level meeting of all of them,” Liam said with an authoritative tone, as he knew that the combined might of multiple factions was required to deal with the problem ahead of them.

“Yes Ancestor,” Sabrina and the rest said in unison and Liam nodded his head after seeing their reaction.

“Bring the Divine Beast Sealing Pillars from the capital. I will personally seal this valley. It might just give us a little more time,” Liam said to Sabrina and the rest who reacted quickly and did everything necessary to have the Divine Beast Sealing Pillars brought there at the very earliest.

“Lord Asuras protect us,” Liam prayed, following which a ruthless and determined expression appeared in his face. He was ready to even lay down his life for the Demon race.

Ryan, on the other hand, was going through the introductions of the numerous Avatar Martial Skill Manuals one by one. It had already taken a few hours and he was still unable to decide on an Avatar Martial Skill Manual. He found all the Martial Skills lacking in one way or other. Ryan wanted an avatar that was highly efficient in close combat as well as having long-range attack capabilities – but most of the avatars created from the Martial Skills that he had gone through focused on one aspect instead of both of them. He was not at all disheartened, as there were still hundreds of Martial Skill Manuals left in the book shelf. He continued skimming through them one after the other.

Time passed and it was already evening. Ryan was done going through all the Martial Skill Manuals in the book shelf. He had shortlisted quite a few Martial Skills out of the hundreds of Avatar Martial Skill Manuals. The avatars created from the thirty that he’d shortlisted excelled in both close combat as well as long-range attack. The avatars created from the shortlisted ones had many different kinds of Innate Abilities and powers, that made them each of them unique and therefore different from each other.

Three Martial Skill Manuals out of all of them caught his eyes the most. One was Inferno Avatar Martial Skill; the second was Beast Avatar Martial Skill and the third was Evil Avatar Martial Skill.

Inferno Avatar Martial Skill created an avatar that was efficient in using powerful flames for attack as well as defense. The creation of this avatar required a large amount of Fire Attribute Heavenly Treasure along with the Creation Heavenly Treasure. This Inferno Avatar possessed supreme control over flames and it could also morph into flames to avoid physical attack – though it couldn’t avoid Soul attacks in a similar manner.

Beast Avatar Martial Skill created an avatar that could transform into an Elemental Beast. The Elemental Beast it could transform into depended on the corpse of the Elemental Beast that was used along with the Creation Heavenly Treasure for its creation. This Beast Avatar was also able to use the Innate Abilities of the same Elemental Beast though the power displayed by it was not on the same level as that of the Original Elemental Beast. The power of its Innate Abilities could be increased if the Beast Avatar was made to absorb the blood of a number of the same sort of Elemental Beasts. The attribute of the avatar created depended on the attribute of the Elemental Beast whose corpse was used to create it.

Evil Avatar Martial Skill created an avatar that was capable of using Demonic and Devil powers. This Avatar Martial Skill was also quite different from most Avatar Martial Skills as the Cultivation Level of the Evil Avatar increased with the increase in the Cultivation Level of the Martial Artist’s real body. A large number of Demonic and Devil Treasures were used along with the Creation Heavenly Treasure for its creation. The attributes of the Evil Avatar depended on the attributes of the Demonic and Devil Treasures used while creating it and it gained a large number of its Demonic and Devil powers from those Treasures. It could continue to gain more Demonic and Devil powers as it could absorb more Demonic and Devil Treasures later on, which made it quite formidable. This avatar was not that popular amongst the members of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan, because there was a very high chance of losing control of it. This happened because of the Devil Energy and Demon Energy of the Evil Avatar. These two energies corrupted the portion of Martial Artist’s soul in the avatar, which made the Martial Artist lose control over the avatar.

Ryan was having a hard time deciding on an Avatar Martial Skill amongst these three. All three had their own plus- and minus-points. If he decided on creating any of them, he would have to collect a lot of Heavenly Treasures before he could begin creating it. He had to think about all the aspects before he could finalize on one of the
m.

“Which one should I choose?” Ryan asked his Martial Spirits, as he was unable to decide on his own.

“Choose Evil Avatar Martial Skill. Evil Avatar is far stronger than Beast Avatar and Inferno Avatar in terms of combat prowess. You don’t have to worry about losing control over it and Isa can help you in collecting Demonic and Devil Treasures once he is done advancing to the Celestial Realm,” Yama replied in a confident manner.

“Why wouldn’t I lose control over the Evil Avatar?” Ryan asked in a bewildered manner. Earl and Dargar were also eager to hear the answer to this question, as the Evil Avatar Martial Skill Manual clearly stated that anyone who created this avatar had to work extremely hard to keep it under control. The avatar might even try to kill the Martial Artist! So, the difficulties associated in having an Evil Avatar could be understood.

“That warning at the start of the Evil Avatar Martial Skill is meant for people with normal souls, but your soul is far from normal, so you don’t have to worry about the portion of your soul getting corrupted by Devil and Demonic energies,” Yama explained as his mouth curled slightly upwards. Ryan, Earl and Dargar nodded their heads, but didn’t ask any more questions. They knew that they wouldn’t get any answers from Yama, as he didn’t wish to divulge details about the strange mutation that Ryan’s soul had undergone.

Ryan selected the Evil Avatar Martial Skill Manual following Yama’s advice. He then quickly left for the Billing section on the ground floor located near the entrance of the Martial Skill Pavilion. There were ten Billing counters in total. Ryan went to the one lacking a queue.

“Senior, I would like to take this Martial Skill Manual,” Ryan said in a polite manner to the middle-aged man sitting behind the Billing counter as he gave him the Evil Avatar Martial Skill Manual.

“Are you sure that you want this Martial Skill? This Avatar Martial Skill had caused doom for numerous members of our Family Clan. The only reason it is still within the Martial Pavilion is due to the Evil Avatar being too overpowered and the ones that are able to keep it under control become pillars of strength of our Family Clan,” the middle-aged man said with a grave expression after checking the Martial Skill Manual that Ryan had handed to him.

“Senior, I am certain, and I won’t end up like the rest, because of the Asura Dragon Physique that I possess,” Ryan said with a determined expression. The middle-aged man looked at Ryan for some time before a smile appeared on his face.

“It’s good to see that you used your head before selecting this Martial Skill. Four hundred Martial tokens,” the middle-aged man said with an easy-going laugh. He had heard about Ryan’s formidable physique after the Divine Trials, so he’d decided to let Ryan purchase the Martial Skill, though he had no idea if his physique would be able to help him in keeping the Evil Avatar under control. As a result, he secretly sent a message to the higher-ups of the Administrative Department about Ryan’s purchase. He didn’t want any accident to happen with a talented kid in his Family Clan.

“Thanks Senior,” Ryan said and a smile appeared on his face as he took out four hundred Martial tokens from his Spatial pouch and handed them to the middle-aged man, who handed him the Martial Skill Manual after counting the Martial tokens. It was already dark by the time Ryan exited the Martial Skill Pavilion.

“I have spent more than ten hours here,” Ryan said to himself as he took off into the sky and headed straight towards his home.

  --------------------------x--------------------------

Ryan had no idea about the problem that was looming over Isa who was busy increasing his Cultivation Level. Liam had completely sealed the valley using Divine Beast Sealing Pillars. The specialty of the Divine Beast Sealing Pillars is that they are entirely made from the bones of Divine Elemental Beasts. The valley in which Isa was cultivating was completely sealed on all sides by the barrier which released a very powerful aura. Isa was still in deep Cultivation state, so he was unable to sense the changes taking place around him.

“This should temporarily give us some relief until the Main branch sends some powerful demons to deal with that Evil demon,” Liam said after sealing the valley.

“Ancestor, the representatives from all the demon factions have arrived and are currently seated in the Throne Room. Everyone is waiting for you,” Sabrina said in a respectful manner.

“OK, let’s go,” Liam said as he opened a Teleportation portal using a Teleportation scroll to the Royal Palace of the Twilight Demon Kingdom. He took one glance at the valley before disappearing into the portal along with Sabrina. The area surrounding the valley had countless Immortal demons guarding it. They had no intention of letting the demon within the valley move unhindered around Demon Continent.

Ryan reached his home soon after leaving the Martial Skill Pavilion. He had no idea that information regarding his purchase had already reached his mother. Emilia was currently seated in the Living room of the estate along with her parents waiting for Ryan’s arrival. The reason she’d been informed was due to the risk and dangers involved in creating an Evil Avatar. She’d heard of its terrifying combat prowess but the risk associated with creating it were equally terrifying. Ryan soon entered the Living room but his expression changed upon seeing his mother’s expression. The expressions of Alexis and Blasius were equally worried.

“Mother, what’s happened?” Ryan asked in a concerned manner.

“Why did you have to choose Evil Avatar Martial Skill? I know the reason that you gave at the Martial Skill Pavilion, but that’s just your assumption. You have no idea what would happen to you, if you lost control over your Evil Avatar,” Emilia said in a stern and angry manner. She had previously lost a very important person due to this Avatar Martial Skill. Ryan’s expression changed drastically on hearing his mother’s words. He was unable to fathom how this news reached his home so fast.

“My great grandmother also had an Evil Avatar, but she was unable to keep it under her control. Her avatar killed her to free itself from her control completely,” Alexis said as her eyes became little moist, as she remembered the day her great grandmother was killed by her Evil Avatar right in front of her eyes. Her avatar was later destroyed by Nero and other higher-ups of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan. The expressions of Emilia and Blasius turned solemn on hearing her words.

“Mother, the reason people tend to lose control over their Avatar Martial Skill is all due to the portion of their souls that they place inside their Evil Avatar is unable to withstand the corruption caused by the Evil Avatar’s Demonic and Devil energies. In my case, that is not possible because of my physique,” Ryan tried to reason with his mother and grandparents, but their expressions didn’t change even in the slightest on hearing his explanation.

“What do you want me to do?” Ryan asked in a helpless manner.

“Just don’t create an Evil Avatar,” Emilia replied almost instantaneously. Ryan opened his mouth a few times but lacked words to counter his mother’s request. He knew that he wouldn’t get any support from Alexis and Blasius either.

“How about you test me before making such a decision? I have extremely high resistance towards all Evil Attributes,” Ryan pleaded. He tried to reason with them once again and tilt their decision in his favor by telling them one of his secrets though he still only told them a half-truth.

“What?” Emilia, Alexis and Blasius said in unison as they looked at Ryan with disbelief.

“Asura Dragons possess extremely high resistance towards all Evil Attributes and Fire Attribute. You have already seen my resistance towards Fire and Poison Attribute. I have similar resistance towards other Evil Attributes. That’s the reason I chose Evil Avatar Martial Skill,” Ryan explained to his mother and grandparents who were looking at him with dazed expressions.

“Ryan are you telling the truth?” Emilia asked as her breathing rate increased. The reactions of Alexis and Blasius were no different.

“Yes Mother,” Ryan said with an earnest expression. Emilia looked at her parent
s who gave her a gentle nod.

“I will test your resistance towards Demonic and Devil energies later on. Before that you can’t create an Evil Avatar,” Emilia said in a stern manner. Ryan nodded his head, as he knew that he would pass his mother’s test with flying colors.

“By the way, why did you exit Sword Tower so early?” Alexis couldn’t help but ask seeing as Ryan had previously told her that he wouldn’t leave it until the day he comprehended First realm of Sword-intent.

“It seems I have hit a bottleneck in comprehending Sword-intent. I am unable to advance any further,” Ryan lied with a straight face. The expressions of Emilia and her parents darkened, as they knew that bottlenecks in the way of the sword were not easy to break through. It could take many years for someone to get through one.

“I can ask one of our Ancestors to help you in comprehending Sword-intent. Many of them wanted to take you as a direct disciple,” Alexis suggested.

“There is no need to bother anyone. I just need to undergo some life-and-death situations to breakthrough my bottleneck in comprehending Sword-intent. I was thinking of going to Starlight Forest for that,” Ryan said with a steady expression.

“No!!!” Emilia and Alexis said in unison as their expressions turned grave again. The expression of Blasius was no different, though he remained quiet.

“I won’t get into any kind of trouble!” Ryan protested.

“You already know the current situation on Grandura and yet you’re thinking of leaving the confines of the Family Clan! None of us can tag along with you because of the war-drills,” Blasius thundered while Alexis and Emilia gave Ryan a stern look.
