  Ch.14

In the meantime, Isa was troubled as he looked through the eyes of the wraiths and ghosts that were keeping an eye on the area just outside the Exclusive zone from inside it. He was still sitting inside the space that he’d created inside the shadow of a tree using his Innate Ability. He had been in it since his return from Shimmering Sky Continent after dropping Shawn and company in Heavenly Forest.

The contingent of Calamity Sect had arrived to take back home their representative group and the Heavenly Treasures that they’d purchased in the auction. The contingent contained a few individuals whose auras were extremely profound and ancient while the rest were in the Late Immortal Saint Realm. The ones with extremely profound and ancient auras were clearly existences beyond the Immortal Realm and Isa knew that these Martial Artists could create trouble for him later on, if he attempted kidnapping those youngsters from their Main branch.

The members in the Calamity Sect contingent of Late Immortal Saint Realm immediately entered the Exclusive zone. They headed straight towards the gates of Sunshine City to provide protection to the members of their representative group after they’d exited the city gates. The Martial Artists of Calamity Sect with Cultivation Levels beyond Immortal Realm remained outside the Exclusive zone, since they were unable to enter it.

Other factions from Grandura had also sent contingents to take their respective representative groups and the treasures purchased by them back home. The contingents of most of the factions of Grandura only comprised Late Immortal Saint Realm individuals, except for a few like the Calamity Sect.

The members of the other contingents of the different factions with Cultivation Levels of Late Immortal Saint Realm immediately entered the Exclusive zone just like the ones from Calamity Sect. They were all heading towards the gates of Sunshine City.

Heaven Sundering Family Clan and Eternity Family Clan were no different. They’d sent Sheldon, Danr and a number of Late Immortal Saint Realm Martial Artists to take Victor and the rest back home in one piece. Sheldon and Danr stood outside the Exclusive zone and looked at the other existences with Cultivation Levels beyond the Immortal Realm with wariness. They knew that there was a high chance that a fight might break out that day.

The chances of being attacked by a number of enemies and being robbed was not small after the representative group of any faction left Sunshine City’s gate. It had happened before, so its happening again was not a big thing. The things that the Celestial Auction House auctioned could make any faction of Grandura lose its bearing and become greedy, so it was natural that all the factions mobilized such forces.

Soon more than a hundred thousand Late Immortal Saint Realm beings were hovering in sky above the Exclusive zone and watching the gates of Sunshine City with full attention. The members of the different factions were looking at each other warily. The members of the Eternity Family Clan and the Heaven Sundering Family Clan especially were watching the members of the factions that were part of the Star Alliance. They knew that there was a very high chance of them ganging up on them.

Isa, on the other hand, moved all the wraiths and ghosts under his command that were lurking in different parts of the Exclusive zone to assemble at some distance from the gate. He’d decided to strike the moment the Calamity Sect contingent collected their representative group and moved a little way from the gates of Sunshine City.

Time passed quickly and after half a day, the representative groups of the different factions started to come out of the city gates one by one. The representative groups quickly joined their faction’s contingent and left the Exclusive zone at their top speed.

The representative group of Calamity Sect soon came out with the representative groups of the other factions of the Star Alliance. All of them had big smiles plastered on their faces. It was clear from their expressions that they’d gained a lot in the auction.

The representative groups of the different factions of the Star Alliance joined their respective contingents but unlike the earlier factions, didn’t leave the Exclusive zone. They were looking at the members of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan with evil smiles.

“You guys will regret pissing us off,” a Grand Elder of Eternity Family Clan said as he took out Sword Vengeance from his Spatial pouch. His name was Cleo, a middle-aged man with blonde hair. The expressions of the members of Calamity Sect and other factions of the Star Alliance changed drastically as they looked at Sword Vengeance with fearful expressions.

“You aren’t the only one with something dangerous,” a middle-aged man said as he took out a flower vase. He was a Grand Elder of Polaris Sect. The flower vase was their most powerful artifact and a cornerstone of their Grandura branch. The flower vase was called Ten Thousand Poison Vase, as it could spew out large quantities of vicious and poisonous fumes. The fumes were poisonous enough to even melt the bodies of Late Immortal Saint Realm beings without them being able to resist at all. It was an exceptionally evil artifact.

“You will regret using the Ten Thousand Poison Vase nearly inside the Exclusive zone,” Cleo said with a mocking expression. He wasn’t bluffing when he said that, as the Ten Thousand Poison Vase would spew out toxic fumes randomly in all directions, which would cause Sunshine City to also be covered in toxic fumes which might lead to terrifying consequences for their entire faction.

“My faction’s Heavenly Wind Fan can make sure that the toxic fumes of the Ten Thousand Poison Vase don’t go anywhere near Sunshine City,” another middle-aged man said as he took out a handheld fan from his Spatial pouch. He was the Grand Elder of the Devil Blood Sect. The Heavenly Wind Fan was their faction’s most powerful artifact and was a cornerstone of their Grandura branch. This artifact had the ability to control the flow of wind within a five hundred square kilometers area, so it could easily make sure that no toxic fumes from Ten Thousand Poison Vase would reach Sunshine City.

This time the expressions of everyone from the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan changed drastically.

The members of the factions other than the ones who’d joined the Star Alliance, the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan quickly moved to a distance. They even asked their representative groups not to come out of Sunshine City for some time given the circumstances just outside the gates of the city.

Isa could tell that the situation might go downhill any moment, so he decided to contact Ryan.

“Master, the members of your family clans are in grave danger,” Isa quickly sent a Mental-message transmission to Ryan.

Ryan who was busy tempering his skin opened his eyes the moment he received Isa’s message.

“What’s happened?” Ryan asked with urgency via Mental-message transmission.

Isa quickly filed him with all the details about the situation that was slowly developing inside the Exclusive zone. On hearing them, Ryan had a twisted expression.

“Isa, start slaughtering them the moment they make any move on the members of my family clans and help the members of my family clans escape,” Ryan said via Mental-message transmission with a murderous expression on his face.

“Yes Master,” Isa replied via Mental-message transmission.

Soon Victor and company came of the gates of Sunshine City after completing all the formalities for all the stuff that they’d purchased. They wore austere expressions as they could see the situation that was developing in front of the gates of Sunshine City. They quickly joined the contingent of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan under the protection of hundreds of Late Immortal Saint Realm beings.

“Victor show us what you guys got from the auction?” Grand Elder Wayne demanded as he looked at Victor with a vicious expression. He hated Victor to the bone.

“Tch, tch, tch! You guys will never learn your lesson,” Victor said mockingly, but something unexpected happened next.

  Boom!!

  Boom!!

A few hundred Martial Artists b
elonging to the factions that were part of the Star Alliance had their heads blown up mysteriously. There was pin drop silence except for the sound caused by the bodies of the dead Martial Artists falling to the ground. Everyone looked at Victor with wide eyes including the members of the Heaven Sundering and Eternity Family Clans.

Victor was shocked just like everyone else, but quickly regained composure unlike the others and was again dumbfounded, when he noticed that everyone was looking at him. He soon realized the reason for that.

“I swear I didn’t do it!” Victor quickly said with a terrified expression, as he could tell that even his own companions were thinking of beating the shit out of him at that moment.

“Victor, you bastard!” Wayne and other Martial Artists from the factions that were part of the Star Alliance roared at the tops of their voices in unison as their eyes turned blood-shot.

  Boom!!

  Boom!!

Once again, a few hundred Martial Artists belonging to the factions that were part of the Star Alliance had their heads blown up mysteriously and their bodies fell to the ground like rag dolls. This time everyone clearly saw that Victor or anyone else from the Heaven Sundering and Eternity family clans had anything to do with the attacks. Fearful expressions appeared on the faces of everyone present as they looked left and right but they couldn’t sense or see any being that could have pulled off such a stunt.

“Bastard come out!” the Grand Elder of the Devil Blood Sect roared at the top of his voice as he waved the Heavenly Wind Fan. The winds in the few hundred square meters around the Grand Elder of Devil Blood Sect had their speeds increased to an unprecedented level. The wind speed was so high that even Late Immortal Saint Realm Martial Artists had a hard time hovering in the sky.

For a few seconds the wraiths and ghosts that were hovering around the Martial Artists belonging to the factions of the Star Alliance became visible to everyone. Then once again they became invisible and lost their presence, even though the winds were still flowing at the same pace as before.

The reason the wraiths and ghosts had become visible for a few seconds was due to the sudden change in the environmental conditions around them. That is the most effective way of dealing with beings that can become invisible and erase their presence, since those Innate Abilities lose effect for a few seconds when the environment around them changes drastically.

Everyone was dumbstruck for a second when they saw the hundreds of ghosts and wraiths covered in vicious auras that became visible for a few seconds. Wayne and company had immediately launched a number of Soul attacks on the wraiths and ghosts when they’d been visible for a few seconds, as the best way to kill ghosts and wraiths is with Soul attacks. However, their attacks didn’t connect with a single ghost or wraith – the speed at which the wraiths and ghosts dodged them stunned Wayne and company.

Their expressions turned ugly as they quickly formed a protective barrier to avoid getting killed by the ghosts and wraiths. They could change the environmental conditions of the area around them again and again with the help of the Heavenly Wind Fan, but that would be useless if they couldn’t restrain the ghosts and wraiths. They had no confidence in hitting a ghost or wraith with a Soul attack after seeing their speed.

The members of Heaven Sundering Family Clan and Eternity Family Clan were far more shocked than them, as the vicious red aura that covered the wraiths and ghosts was extremely familiar to them. They didn’t think too much about it, as they were certain that Ryan was too weak to control Late Immortal Saint Realm Undead creatures and they were also certain that he wouldn’t have that many hundreds of bead necklaces like the one that he’d given to Emilia. That bead necklace had even intrigued Sheldon and his four companions but they lacked knowledge about it. The number of Demon ghosts with High-grade or Original-grade bloodline purity was not that many in the Divine Universe. They usually sat in safe-zones in Hell away from the reach of human factions that proclaimed their self-righteousness and sent hordes of Undead creatures to attack those self-righteous human factions.

The members of Heaven Sundering Family Clan and Eternity Family Clan immediately turned into streaks of light and flew towards the exit of the Exclusive zone.

Wayne and the rest of the Martial Artists belonging to the different factions of the Star Alliance saw that the members of Heaven Sundering Family Clan and Eternity Family Clan were not being attacked even as they left, which made their expressions turn even uglier. They felt that somehow the wraiths and ghosts were connected to both the family clans. They wanted to do something to stop them from leaving but suddenly a number of attacks struck the barrier.

  Boom!!!

  Boom!!!

  Boom!!!

The expressions of Wayne and the others turned ominous upon seeing the relentless attacks on their barrier, but the attacks were quite weak which was to be expected as wraiths and ghost lack terrifying physical attack. On the contrary, their specialty lies in Soul attack, so Wayne and the rest knew that they were safe so long as they remained inside

“Young Misses and young Masters, we are extremely sorry for the inconvenience,” Wayne said in a humble tone via Mental-message transmission to the seven youngsters from the Main branch of their family clan. Since the revival of their Main branch was dependent on these youngsters, Wayne was extremely obsequious towards them and tried to suck up to them whenever he got an opportunity.

“Grand Elder Wayne, you don’t need to be worried about anything. The appearance of these odd wraiths and ghosts is something no one could have predicted. Even my companions and I have not seen or heard about such wraiths and ghosts in the Divine Universe. So, Grand Elder Wayne, you don’t need to worry about anything,” one of the youngsters from the Main branch of Calamity Sect with a quick smile via Mental-message transmission. Her name was Kiley, a beautiful young woman around the age of twenty with a Cultivation Level of Mid Immortal Elite Realm. Anyone could see that she was someone with weight amongst the youngsters, that had been sent from the Main branch of Calamity Sect from the deferential way the other six youngsters regarded her.

“Grand Elder Wayne, I want you to capture one of each of these wraiths and ghosts. I would like to study them,” Kiley said intently via Mental-message transmission. Her interest in the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan was piqued by the wraiths and ghosts.

Kiley wanted to know whether the wraiths and ghosts had naturally mutated or the clans had used some artificial method to force them to undergo such an evolution. The best way to verify that was by conducting certain experiments on one of them. She could tell that these wraiths and ghosts were manyfold stronger than normal ones. If they had been mutated using artificial means, she wanted to know the method for causing that artificial mutation. If she were to give this method to the elders of her sect, she would gain a lot of favors from them, since her sect had a number of Elders that had Undead legions of wraiths and ghosts.

“Young Miss, we can’t leave you guys unprotected,” Wayne said via Mental-message transmission.

“Don’t worry about us. The pedants around our necks will make sure of our protection,” Kiley said with a dismissive smile via Mental-message transmission.

“I will try my best to fulfill the request of the young Miss,” Grand Elder Wayne said via Mental-message in a respectful tone.

“Let us form a Fusion Domain,” Wayne roared at the top of his voice. The others agreed as they were certain of restraining the wraiths to a very high extent within the Fusion Domain. Soon a hundred or so Martial Artists released their Domains at the same time which quickly fused together. The resulting Fusion Domain spread for tens of square kilometers and influenced everything.

Sunshine City was suddenly covered in a blue sheen because of which the effects of the Fusion Domain were immediately negated over the Sunshine City. It was clear that the members of the Celestial Auction House were also watching the situation developing just outside their gates, but they had no intention of interfering.r />
The sudden appearance of the Fusion Domain immediately caused a massive disruption in the environment which made all the wraiths suddenly become visible once again. This time the wraiths were unable to become invisible or erase their presence again, but Wayne and company were stunned as they noticed that the ghosts were missing.

“It seems that the ghosts have already fled,” one of the Martial Artists, named Michelle, said with a disgruntled expression. He was supporting the Fusion Domain.

All the Martial Artists were delighted as they charged out of the barrier towards the wraiths that had already started to flee at their top speeds.

“I will burn your souls for a thousand years,” one of the Martial Artists roared at the top of his voice as he and others chased the wraiths.

Michelle’s eyes suddenly went wide before they became lifeless, as one of his most trusted subordinates shoved his sword into his chest. This shocked everyone present inside the barrier and before anyone could regain their composure a few more of the Martial Artists belonging to the different factions of the Star Alliance became hostile and attacked the ones supporting the Fusion Domain. The Fusion Domain instantly became unstable and started to fall apart. This gave the wraiths an opportunity to become invisible once again and they slaughtered the Martial Artists chasing after them within the next few minutes.

“You traitorous bastards!” Wayne roared in fury as he and others killed a few of the Martial Artists that had gone hostile. Everyone had sudden changes in expression as they saw black cloud-like things coming out of the slaughtered bodies.

“Shit, they are all possessed by ghosts!” one of the Martial Artists said in alarm as they quickly killed the ghosts before they could escape. Ghosts are weakest after the beings possessed by them are killed, so they were easy for the Martial Artists inside the barrier to kill within a few seconds.

Ghosts are Undead creatures that specialize in taking over the bodies of living creatures and slowly devouring the souls of their victims. They abandon the body the moment they have completely devoured the soul. The more souls they devour in this manner, the stronger they become with the passage of time. Ghosts also possess the ability to read the memories of the being that they have possessed, which allows them to impersonate that being. This makes sure that even the beings closest to the possessed being can’t tell that their loved one is possessed by a ghost. Only beings stronger than the ghosts can tell about the possession.
