God Slayer Vol.3 Page 26

Lin and company were certain that the Demonic Dragon was most likely hovering in Outer space just outside Grandura given the speed at which the Energy projection had appeared after the black mist was emitted from Isa’s body. The Energy projections of such beings are only as strong as Immortal King Realm beings. They could tell that the Demonic Dragon most likely came to protect the Black Ice Demoness and her companions on their way back home after collecting Isa’s body.

A Demonic Dragon is a special kind of demon that is a cross between a demon and a dragon. Dragons don’t consider them to be kin, as they have more racial abilities of the Demon race. The strength of a Demonic Dragon depends completely on its parents. The stronger the parents, the stronger the Demonic Dragon.

“Grand-elder Manju, what do you mean?” one of the demons of the Royal Demon Family Clan asked.

“You will come to know soon,” Manju said as he looked at Isa somewhat fearfully. He just hoped that his fears didn’t become real.

“Why did you people attack my envoy?” a domineering voice echoed throughout the entire area which immediately brought the attention of everyone present including the ones from Royal Demon Family Clan to the source of the voice.

They had stunned expressions as the source of the voice was Isa, but the latter was still unconscious! It didn’t take long for them to get answers to the questions in their mind.

Isa’s body started to ooze large quantities of black mist and soon the black mist started to transform into a blurry, humanoid figure just above the Isa’s unconscious body. It was twenty meters in height with red-eyes and six arms, the upper four of which were holding swords. The blurry humanoid figure became more and more distinct with each passing second and soon it looked no different from a real being.

“Lord Asura!!!” all the demons said in unison with shocked expressions as they looked at the figure of an Asura that had materialized above Isa. All of them suddenly felt a suppressing effect on their souls and bodies just from being in the presence of the Asura figure. They couldn’t help but bow down in front of it. The demons from the Royal Demon Family Clan were no different. Manju who wasn’t present physically in front of the Asura figure still felt the suppressing effect in Outer space.

At that moment, all the demons couldn’t help but shiver in fear as they looked at the Asura figure with great respect.

The restrictions on Shalu also vanished and she too knelt down on her knees as she looked at the Asura figure with great reverence. The fact that Isa’s Master was an Asura swelled her chest with pride. She knew that everything would now fall into place with the appearance of the Lord Asura.

The Asura figure was the Martial Spirit Projection of Yama and was being controlled directly by Ryan after his consciousness had fused with it. At that moment, Ryan had become one with the Asura figure and it felt no different from his own body.

When Martial Artists form an Equal contract, or any other contract equivalent to an Equal contract with a being, they leave their Martial Spirit Projection within their Soul being. Martial Artists can release this Martial Spirit Projection in problematic situations to save their Soul beings. The Martial Spirit Projection looks no different from the real thing and no one is able to tell that it is a Martial Spirit Projection and not a doppelgänger that powerful Martial Artists and beings send from some other world – just like Solomon had sent his doppelgänger in the Treasure Space to meet Ryan. The fact that human beings possessing an Asura Martial Spirit was thought to be an impossibility plus the fact that the feeling the Martial Spirit Projection gave off was quite similar to a real Asura, made sure that no one suspected that the Asura figure in front of them was actually a Martial Spirit Projection.

Ryan had a raging hatred for all the demons in front of him. He’d already decided to kill all of them for making a move on Isa. The black mist with which the Asura figure was created was capable of annihilating all the demons present. Yama had told him that this black mist would have a very adverse effect on the demons even though the actual strength of the Martial Spirit Projection was equivalent to the strength of his real body.

“Now behave like a real Asura,” Yama’s voice echoed within Ryan’s mind, as he could tell what was going on in Ryan’s mind.

“What do you mean?” Ryan couldn’t help but ask, as he looked at all the demons and the demoness from the Divine Universe with an enraged expression.

“Asuras always give demons one chance to correct themselves, even if they wrong them terribly. You should be no different, otherwise it will look odd – and then you can use them as your backup force in the future,” Yama explained.

“But they tried to kill Isa!” Ryan protested.

“Isa is completely fine, and they wouldn’t have tried to make a move on Isa had they known that he had an Asura as a Master,” Yama countered. Ryan couldn’t help but nod his head in understanding.

“You can use this opportunity to set the future for Isa’s descendants. They definitely belong to a powerful faction of the Divine Universe,” Yama said in a sly manner. Ryan immediately understood the meaning behind Yama’s words, which made him giddy deep down.

“We will go with your plan!” Ryan said enthusiastically.

All the demons felt chills down their spines as they looked at the Asura figure in front of them with fear.

“Lord Asura, we had no idea he was linked to you! If we’d known, we would never have dared to do such a thing,” Manju said as he shivered uncontrollably. He was extremely scared at this moment and it was not just him – all the other demons were the same.

“I will let you and others of the hook for trying to kill Isa, if your factions make sure they support the Family Clan that Isa is going to establish in the coming years,” the Asura figure said in a grave tone. Manju and the other demons from the Royal Demon Family Clan couldn’t help but rejoice deep within their hearts on hearing these words from the Asura figure, as they finally saw hope for redeeming their situation.

“I take a pledge in front of Lord Asura that my Royal Demon Family Clan will do everything within its capabilities to support Master Isa’s Family Clan in every possible way,” Manju replied quickly in a very solemn manner. The Asura figure nodded its head on hearing Manju’s reply which made Manju and company rejoice deep down.

“Since everything is settled here I will take my leave,” the Asura figure said, as it disappeared from above Isa. The black mist surrounding Isa also started to thin after the disappearance of the Asura figure.

Shalu immediately appeared next to Isa and took him in her arms as she could tell that it wouldn’t be long before he fell to the ground below. She then quickly checked his condition and sighed with relief on seeing that he was completely fine.

“Head, we will be taking leave,” Shalu said as she looked at the current Head of the Grandura branch of Demon Domain, who was watching everything happening outside Demon Domain with a stunned expression from quite a distance further away.

“Shalu, let’s sit and talk,” the current Head of the Grandura branch of Demon Domain said, as he immediately tried to pacify Shalu because he could guess her intentions.

It was not just him: everyone present could tell Shalu intended to cut all relations with Demon Domain.

“There is nothing left to talk about,” Shalu said as she opened a Teleportation portal and disappeared into it along with Isa.

The current Head of the Grandura branch of Demon Domain and the other higher-ups of the Grandura branch of Demon Domain felt deep pain in their hearts, as they watched her disappearing into the portal along with Isa. It was evident to them that they had lost a very big opportunity.

All the demon factions immediately contacted their Main branches to inform them that Isa was actually an envoy of a Lord Asura. This was big news, as it had previously been unheard of that an Asura would take a Demon Ghost as his envoy. That was also one of the reasons for the lower status of Demon Ghosts amongst the different species of the Demon race. This news would
have wide ranging consequences.

Ryan, on the other hand, was least bothered about all that so long as Isa was fine, and had a wide smile. The expressions of Earl and Dargar were no different while Yama still had a calm expression, as if the entire stunt they’d pulled a few moments beforehand was nothing big at all.

“You should continue refining your skin,” Yama’s voice echoed in Ryan’s mind which immediately made the latter focused again.

“Yes, I know,” Ryan replied as he got ready to enter his deep Cultivation state again.

  --------------------------x--------------------------

A Teleportation portal opened on the top of a lone nameless mountain peak in the central region of Demon Continent. If one were to look from the top of the green mountain one would find it was in the middle of a very dense Ancient forest. There were large numbers of powerful auras in the regions surrounding the peak, but none dared to approach the peak.

Shalu stepped out of the portal with Isa still in her arms. He was still unconscious, which was to be expected, as his soul had been attacked by Damon. If not for the timely intervention of Ryan and Yama, he would have died a horrible death.

The peak of the mountain peak had a house on it. This had been Isa’s home before he’d been chased away from Demon Continent for having a relationship with Shalu.

Shalu used to go there on a regular basis to do the cleaning and other maintenance work even though there were rumors that Isa had died. She was certain deep down in her heart that he was alive and that single belief gave her the strength to go there regularly. Initially, she’d had Isa’s life pendent with her but it was confiscated by the previous head of the Grandura branch of Demon domain, when he came to know about the relationship between Shalu and Isa.

The higher-ups of Demon Domain frowned on her actions but none dared voice their discontent, as she had the necessary strength to revolt against them, which was something they didn’t wish to see. The Main branch of Demon Domain had their own plans for her once she’d ascended to the Divine Universe.

The number of demons and demonesses with High-grade bloodline purity and Original-grade bloodline purity are extremely important for the survival of all demon factions. Demonesses with High-grade bloodline purity or Original-grade bloodline purity are made to pair up with demons with Original-grade or High-grade bloodline purity to make sure that a steady number of demons with higher bloodline purity are produced regularly. This practice is followed by all the demon factions in the Divine Universe, but it isn’t followed that strictly on higher worlds like Grandura. This made Shalu important for the Main branch of Demon Domain.

“Mother, can you let us out?” a voice came from a pouch tied by Shalu’s waist. A smile appeared on her face and with one thought Carolus and Rohit appeared outside. They had dazed expressions when they saw Isa but Shalu could tell what was going on in their minds, so she quickly filled them on everything that happened.

“Mother, do you think that the higher-ups of the Main branch of Demon Domain sit quietly?” Carolus, one of the sons of Isa and Shalu asked. His brother’s name was Rohit.

“Your father is being backed by a Lord Asura, so they won’t do anything and the Royal Demon Family Clan is going to make sure of that,” Shalu said with a grave expression before a smile appeared on her face and she added, “Inform Rashmi that we are permanently shifting here and ask her to bring Noah. It’s been a very long time since I last met that little imp.”

They then entered the house with smiles on their faces as they thought of Noah. They had met him in person once right after his birth, but after that they had only talked to him a number of times.

The fact that Rashmi had given birth to Noah wasn’t known to anyone from the Demon Domain except for Shalu, Carolus and Rohit. The higher-ups of Demon Domain had known of Rashmi’s pregnancy but on the day when Noah was born, the higher-ups of the Twilight Demon Kingdom had informed the higher-ups of Demon Domain that Rashmi had given birth to dead children – and the higher-ups of Demon Domain didn’t doubt them.

Shalu, Carolus and Rohit had visited Rashmi to cheer her up shortly afterwards without giving her any prior warning. Shalu was stunned upon her arrival, as she could feel the existence of Noah after arriving in Heavenly Demon City. The higher-ups of Twilight Demon Kingdom were quite taken aback by the sudden visit of Shalu, Carolus and Rohit, who were quickly apprehended and given a choice: either sign a Soul contract to maintain secrecy about Noah or face death. Shalu, Carolus and Rohit readily agreed and signed the Soul contract to maintain secrecy about Noah. They’d had no sense of belonging to Demon Domain for a myriad of reasons, the chief being the situation from ten thousand years before.

Soul contracts are used as guarantees in many situations in both the Divine Universe as well as on Grandura. The one that violates them dies instantly.

Shalu, Carolus and Rohit were able to meet Rashmi and Noah shorty after signing the Soul contracts. Rashmi at the time was extremely angry with Nox and the other higher-ups of Twilight Demon Kingdom about how they’d treated her mother and brothers. Shalu, Carolus and Rohit told her that they didn’t mind and, on the contrary, were very happy the Twilight Demon Kingdom had no intention of sharing news about Noah with Demon Domain. Rashmi could understand the intentions and the reason for such a reaction from her mother and brothers and that calmed her down a little.

If the Demon Domain was to get even an inkling about Noah, then it would have disregarded the alliance between the two factions and staked a claim over Noah. Shalu, Carolus and Rohit didn’t want that to happen as that would have put Noah under a lot of pressure. They wanted him to grow up in a happy environment.

That situation did occur after Noah’s existence became known to Demon Domain, but it had decided to take it easy at the start and things had not reached the stage where the decorum between Twilight Demon Kingdom and Demon Domain was lost. Now, Demon Domain wouldn’t even dare to make a move on Noah because of Isa, in their eyes, being backed by an Asura.

Shalu and her brothers never visited Twilight Demon Kingdom again after that. Instead Rashmi visited them but every now and then and they would talk to Noah via Mental-message transmission orb.

Isa woke up all of a sudden and sat bolt-upright on the bed on which he’d been lying unconscious just a moment ago. He was only in his underwear. The room only had a table and a cupboard.

He was shocked, when he realized that he was still alive but calmed down within moments as he sensed his sons and Shalu in just the next room. He immediately expanded his Soul sense to the maximum and finally realized that he was in his home from ten thousand years previously before his eyes became wet. He knew that the only reason his previous house was still standing even after ten thousand years was all due to Shalu.

He quickly got up from the bed and put on the robe that was lying on the table next to the bed, as he had a lot of questions to ask Shalu. He still had no idea how he’d survived, but he had a hunch that it had something to do with Ryan. He didn’t wish to bother Ryan over such a small matter, so he decided to ask Shalu and his sons.

Isa opened the door to his room and entered the living room of the house where Shalu and his sons were talking amongst themselves. A smile immediately appeared on their faces on seeing Isa completely fine. They’d started to get worried about him, since he’d remained unconscious for two days straight.

“How come I’m still alive?” Isa directly came to the point.

“Your Master appeared in time to save you,” Shalu said with a tender expression. She was extremely happy to know that her lover had such a powerful backer.

“Can you explain everything in detail?” Isa couldn’t help but ask intently. He just hoped that Ryan hadn’t made a public appearance, as that would put his life in great danger. A human with an Asura Martial Spirit was unheard since time immemorial and there was no guarantee how the demons would react.

“Lord Asura sent his doppelgänger to Grandura just to save your life. In his a
we-inspiring presence everyone could only bow down …” and Shalu narrated the entire sequence of events that had occurred after Isa’s fainting.

Isa couldn’t help but sigh with relief after hearing out Shalu and warmth surged in his heart because of Ryan’s actions in saving his life. He could already tell that Ryan had most likely used Martial Spirit Projection to do that.

“How long I was unconscious?” Isa couldn’t help but ask.

“You were unconscious for a full two days,” Shalu said with a gentle laugh. Isa fell into deep thought, before he took a seat next to Shalu and talked with her and his sons for a few hours. He’d decided to spend some time with them before heading out to finish the task Ryan had given him.

Time passed quickly as Shalu, Carolus and Rohit shared countless things with him.

“I will come back in a few days. I still need to finish the task previously given to me by Master,” Isa said as he got up from his seat, as he still had to finish the collecting Demonic Treasures and Devil Treasures for Ryan.

“Take care,” Shalu, Rohit and Carolus said in unison with big smiles on their faces. They didn’t ask him about the task or try to stop him as they felt that it wouldn’t be right on their parts.

Isa, Shalu and their sons walked out of the house. Isa opened a Teleportation portal to Demon Continent and disappeared into it.

“Mother, what kind of task did Lord Asura give father that he was in such a hurry?” Rohit asked with a conspiratorial smile. The fact that his father worked for one of the Lord Asuras was a big thing. Most Demons would die before even seeing an Asura, so the fact that his father had met a real Asura in person was something to be proud of.

“No idea. It must be of utmost importance though,” Shalu replied with a modest smile before she and her sons returned to the house.
