“We just want your faction’s Grandura branch to support our kids in every possible manner especially in collecting Heavenly Treasures and other Cultivation resources. If you want, the Dark Moon Family Clan can also become a subsidiary of our faction just like the Calamity Sect,” Shyam said in a calm tone.

Since Ishan and company would now be unable to upgrade their strength quickly, they would also miss out big opportunities in the Divine Universe, the biggest one being the Chaos Hole which would open in two hundred years – a once-in-a-billion-years event. Shyam and the other higher-ups had earlier been hoping that Ishan and company would be able to ascend from Grandura before it opened, but after the disbanding of the Star Alliance the chances of that happening were quite bleak.

Chaos Hole is the name of a Spatial space that was created by an ancient battle fought between two ancient SSS Grade factions, which led to annihilation of both factions countless eons ago. The fight between them was so terrifying that it had caused a big part of the Divine Universe to rupture. The rupture had been a Death zone for countless eons and even Paragon Gods had died if they’d ventured anywhere near it. After more countless eons the rupture transformed and turned into an extremely huge Spatial space, which was later called the Chaos Hole, because of the circumstance in which it had been formed.

The world inside the Chaos Hole was filled with countless opportunities. The Chaos Hole made it impossible for any being with a Cultivation Level higher than the Celestial Realm to enter, which made it a place where beings with a Cultivation in varying stages of the Immortal Realm and Celestial Realm of the Divine Universe could shine. Every time it opened countless beings with Immortal Realm and Celestial Realm Cultivation Levels entered it even though only one third of them returned alive.

Shyam was certain that if the Calamity Sect and the Dark Moon Family Clan worked together, there was a chance for at least Ishan and Kiley to ascend before the opening of the Chaos Hole – he wasn’t concerned that much about the others missing the opportunity to enter the Chaos Hole. The background of Ishan and Kiley was deepest amongst all the youngsters they’d sent to Grandura. It would create a huge headache for him, if Ishan and Kiley missed the opportunity to enter the Chaos Hole.

“I would like the Dark Moon Family Clan to become a subsidiary of the Silver Oak Sect. My descendants and I will do everything possible to help the young Masters and Misses on Grandura,” Kai said with bright eyes. He could finally see hope for his faction becoming an S Grade faction in the future.

“For the safety of your Dark Moon Family Clan, we will deploy a few powerhouses of our Sect to your family clan’s Divine World,” Shyam said with a smile. He wasn’t going to commit the same mistake twice.

On hearing this Kai immediately agreed to Shyam’s proposal and signed a Soul contract with him about keeping the entire matter secret. If Kai leaked the matter of the Asura Bone sword then his soul would instantly shatter.

Kai and Shyam drew up a plan following which Kai returned to the Main branch of the Dark Moon Family Clan along with a few powerhouses of the Silver Oak Sect. Kai then called a meeting and informed all the higher-ups about the deal he’d made with the Silver Oak Sect, following which everyone present in the meeting was asked to sign Soul contracts to maintain secrecy. A similar exercise was carried out by the Silver Oak Sect with the Main branch of the Calamity Sect. The Main branch of the Dark Moon Family Clan straight away sent ten more of its powerhouse members to Grandura to support Ishan and company in every possible way.

  --------------------------x--------------------------

It had already been quite a few days since the Red Calamity had ended and the Raffle Family Clan had been expecting trouble to come knocking on their doors.

The atmosphere at their Raffle Family Clan was extremely tense when the Dark Moon Family Clan’s messenger arrived to inform them that they had to decide on the matter of Cynthia’s marriage by the next morning. If they refused to marry her into the Dark Moon Family Clan, they could experience a full-frontal assault from the Dark Moon Family Clan.

“They are too arrogant,” Anso said in enormous exasperation.

“I have a feeling that the Main branch of the Dark Moon Family Clan has most likely found a strong backer, otherwise I can’t think of them going so overboard,” Rocco said grimly.

“I have already sent a Mental-message transmission to the Head to investigate that,” Anso said, but he’d also come to the same conclusion as Rocco.

The fact that Anso and his companions were on Grandura was still a secret even from most of the members of the Grandura branch of the Raffle Family Clan.

“Regulus protect Cynthia at all times and have someone inform her about the entire matter. We will give the Grandura branch of the Dark Moon Family Clan a surprise if they come tomorrow. Ask her father to return her Mental-message transmission orb to her,” Anso said with a crafty smile. Cynthia was still being kept in dark about the matter.

The reason he wanted Cynthia’s father to give her back her Mental-message transmission orb was that he wanted to somehow get the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan into the fray, as that would ease the pressure from the Dark Moon Family Clan on them. Anso was banking on the fact that Cynthia would contact Ryan and tell him about everything, as he had previously been told that Ryan was part of both the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan. This fact alone showed that both family clans valued him a lot. Anyone who knew about the internal workings of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan would know that such a concession was given only to talented individuals, so there was an extremely high chance that both family clans might involve themselves in this matter, as they’d previously done, when it was first found out that something was going on between Cynthia and Ryan. This was a gamble that he was playing but he just hoped that it created the magic that he wanted.

  --------------------------x--------------------------

Time passed quickly and Ryan finally achieved High Mortal Bones after another two days. His speed at refining his bones had dramatically increased given his previous experience in refining his skin.

  Boom!!!

  Boom!!!

Two small explosions occurred inside his body. He had achieved High Mortal Bones which caused both his Death Fire Dual Attribute Soul Cores to advance to the Mid Mortal Emperor Realm. The purity of the Liquid Spirit in both his Soul Cores increased dramatically. A smile appeared on Ryan’s face as he sensed the changes occurring in his body. The newly formed high-purity Liquid Spirit Power coursed through his body and in turn strengthened it.

Ryan could feel explosive power in every part of his body. He was certain that now he could easily deal with Mid Mortal Sage Realm Martial Artists with extreme ease and even contend with Late Mortal Sage Realm beings if he used Spirit Power. His bodily toughness had increased to a whole new level. Even Mid Mortal Saint Realm Martial Artists would be unable to injure him and Late Mortal Saint Realm Martial Artists would have a hard time harming him. The strength of his soul had also increased, so now it was equivalent to that of Mid Mortal Saint Realm Martial Artists and his Soul attacks might even threaten the lives of Mid Mortal Saint Realm beings. The range of his Soul-sense had once again increased – to four hundred thirty meters, which was once again almost double the range of any Mid Mortal Emperor Realm Martial Artist.

His Hell’s Fire flame, Devil’s flame, Sky-Devouring flame and Undead flame had also strengthened dramatically. Ryan could now use Hell’s Fire flame and Devil’s flame to burn beings with Cultivation Levels of the Mid Sage Realm into nothingness without them being able to resist at all. The Undead flame could now be used to burn the souls of beings with a similar Cultivation Level without them being able to save themselves either. Sky-devouring flame could be used by him to burn beings with a Cultivation Level of Mid Mortal Saint Realm without them able to resist at all.

Ryan was certain that with his current Cultivation Level he wouldn
t have to fear the youngsters from the Grandura branches of the different factions that would be entering the Ancient Legacy Land.

“You should try to increase your Cultivation Level to Mortal Saint Realm before the Ancient Legacy Land opens,” Yama said encouragingly, as that would increase the chances of Ryan’s survival even though he would have Amarok and Thorn with him. In any Legacy Land, there is no guarantee about what will come your way and they were still not in-the-know about the rules of the Ancient Legacy Land. If by chance Ryan was barred from using his Undead creatures, he would lose more than half of his hidden strength, so it was natural for Yama to be worried.

“Yeah, I know,” Ryan said, as he understood the reason behind Yama’s words. He got up from the spot in the cave where he’d been cultivating and took out Death Sword from his Soul World and opened a portal to Death dimension and twenty wraiths flew out of it following which Ryan took off into the sky in search of Mortal Sage Realm beings to burn while the wraiths followed him, after erasing their presence and becoming invisible.

Ryan still had two months and ten days until the Ancient Legacy Land opened.

  Ch.23

Ryan was currently flying towards a horde of Whisper scorpions with Death Sword in his hand and his Asura eyes activated. Death Sword was covered in Hell’s Fire flame. He had started using Death Sword in almost all his battles to allow him to comprehend Sword-intent while he was busy burning beings to increases his insights and understanding in Fire Elemental Laws and Death Elemental Laws.

Whisper scorpions look no different from usual scorpions except for the huge size of their bodies and the wings on their backs. For defense purposes, they also possess spike-like hairs that grow across their bodies which are highly toxic. They are Poison Attribute beings known for their high toxicity. Their toxins can even affect beings with Cultivation Levels higher than theirs by a sub-realm or two.

Whisper scorpions usually live in hordes of a few hundred individuals, but the horde Ryan had encountered was a weak one as it only had seventy-three Whisper scorpions and all of them were in the Mortal Sage Realm. The stronger ones were in the Mid Mortal Sage Realm and the weaker ones were in the Early Mortal Sage Realm. Whisper scorpions don’t live in burrows but within the dead bodies of other Poison Attribute beings that they kill for the purpose of making themselves a cozy home. The horde that Ryan had encountered was living in the dead body of a gigantic Marsh toad. Marsh toads are a normal Elemental Beasts and look like any other toad, except that they are as a big as a medium sized mountain. Most creatures avoid hunting Marsh toads, as they smell extremely bad and are quite toxic for beings with similar Cultivation Levels as them.

The Marsh toad had been dead for probably a few months, so it had already started to rot. The Whisper scorpions weren’t bothered about that at all and actually felt quite cozy in it.

“Screech!” the Whisper scorpions issued ear piercing screeches as they sensed Ryan flying towards the Marsh toad. As the Cultivation Level they perceived from Ryan was at the Early Mortal Lord Realm, they had no fear of him. One of the Whisper scorpions came out of the Marsh toad’s body and looked at Ryan in a menacing manner as it opened the wings on its back to take off into the sky to get rid of Ryan.

Ryan stopped in the sky at some distance from the Marsh toad. The wraiths were closely following him in their presence-less and invisible state.

Ryan couldn’t help but smile after seeing the reaction of the Whisper scorpions after they’d perceived his Cultivation Level, even though he’d seen such a reaction countless times since coming to Starlight Forest and should’ve already gotten used to it. He slashed Death Sword at the Whisper scorpion and a sword beam entirely condensed from Hell’s Fire flame shot out from it. The Whisper scorpion was instantly burned into nothingness.

The other Whisper scorpions were stunned for a second before horrified looks appeared on their faces, but it was too late. Ryan had already shot some similar Sword beams and all the Whisper scorpions were dead even before any of them could react. The Sword beams had torn through the dead body of the Marsh toad and accurately hit all of them. The Whisper scorpions were burnt into nothingness along with body of the Marsh toad within a few seconds.

“I am not far from comprehending the First Realm of Sword-intent,” Ryan said to himself and a smile appeared on his face, as he set out in search of other Mortal Sage Realm creatures. The wraiths continued to follow him like his shadow.

Time passed quickly as Ryan continued to burn Mortal Sage Realm beings. He was quite satisfied with the speed at which his insights and understanding in Elemental Laws were increasing. All at once, a startled expression appeared on his face, while he was standing amidst the dense vegetation of Starlight Forest. The Undead creatures of the black bead necklace that he’d given to Cynthia had just sent him a Mental-message transmission informing about the ultimatum given by the Dark Moon Family Clan. The wraiths had heard Cynthia’s mom tell her about the situation that the Raffle Family Clan was in at that time. Soon large quantities of Baleful aura erupted out of Ryan’s body as he discussed a way out of this situation with his Martial Spirits. It didn’t take long for him and his Martial Spirits to come up with two plans following which a crafty smile appeared on Ryan’s face.

Ryan decided to contact Cynthia as her Mental-message transmission orb had just been returned to her. Ryan wasn’t stupid and to some extent he could already guess the Raffle Family Clan’s intentions for giving it back to her, but one of the plans he’d come up with required her assistance.

“Hey, how are you doing?” Ryan asked the moment his Mental-message transmission orb connected to Cynthia’s.

“Fine. What about you?” Cynthia asked in an emotional tone. She couldn’t help but be overwhelmed upon hearing Ryan’s voice and felt a strong longing to meet him.

“Couldn’t be better,” Ryan said as a smile appeared on his face and his heart couldn’t help but race upon hearing her voice.

“Aren’t you going to ask why I wasn’t receiving your Mental-message transmissions?” Cynthia asked, as she burst into tears. She felt that Ryan couldn’t be genuine about her – if he was, he would have asked this question first before asking about her wellbeing. Any normal person in Ryan’s situation would ask that question first. It wasn’t that she was being paranoid.

“Hey, don’t cry! I didn’t ask, because I could tell that your Mental-message transmission orb was most likely confiscated by your family clan after your return. I have full faith that you would never ignore my Mental-message transmissions,” Ryan said as he tried to pacify her. He cajoled her for half an hour before she stopped crying. Ryan couldn’t help but feel warmth surge through his heart, as he could tell that he was truly in her heart otherwise she wouldn’t have reacted like that.

“Are you entering the Ancient Legacy Land?” Cynthia asked in an austere tone after she’d stopped crying.

“I am,” Ryan said after which there was complete silence from Cynthia’s side.

“Do you have to enter the Ancient Legacy Land?” Cynthia asked after a moment’s silence.

“Don’t worry about me. Thorn is also going along with me,” Ryan said with a light laugh.

“How will Thorn be able to help you in keeping your life safe?” Cynthia asked in an unsure manner. She knew that Ryan had a Soul beast with that name, but she knew nothing else about Thorn.

Thorn’s real Cultivation Level wasn’t known to anyone except for Ryan. Ryan had previously told the members of his family clans that Thorn had a Cultivation Level of Early Mortal Saint Realm. The Ancestor Level Martial Artists and a few other higher-ups of the Divine Martial Sect had also assumed a similar Cultivation Level for Thorn when they’d previously seen him devour a Barbaric bull during the marathon.

At that time Raymond had requested everyone who’d seen Thorn in action to keep their mouths shut, as it could easily have aroused jealousy amongst other people and they might try to harm Ryan and Thorn. Everyone had to give face to Raymond no
matter who it was in the Grandura branch of the Divine Martial Sect, so even Thorn’s false Cultivation Level wasn’t known to anyone, other than the people that wouldn’t have any bad thoughts about him and Ryan.

Thorn’s false Cultivation Level was already enough to make alarm bells ring in all the factions that would be sending their youngsters into the Ancient Legacy Land. That might create a lot of trouble for Ryan. There was a very high chance that those factions would join hands and not allow him to enter the Ancient Legacy Land along with Thorn, since that would allow Ryan to dominate others in the Ancient Legacy Land.

Ryan’s family clans had made sure that the information about the false Cultivation Level of Thorn wasn’t known to any other factions. Nero and Rudolf had already had a talk with the Head of the Grandura branch of the Divine Martial Sect about that matter. He had readily agreed, as this had also been requested by Raymond previously and all the precautions were already in place to make sure of it.

“Thorn’s Cultivation Level is Late Mortal Saint Realm and he is only about a year old,” Ryan said in a laugh.

“What?” Cynthia said in a stunned manner before she couldn’t help but feel giddy deep down. She was extremely happy for Ryan. She was now certain that Ryan would be able to come out of the Ancient Legacy Land safe and sound.

“What about you? Will you be entering the Legacy Land?” Ryan asked even though he knew the answer to his question. A Life Attribute Martial Artist with such a high talent wouldn’t be allowed to risk his or her life by any faction. The Raffle Family Clan was no different.

“I won’t be allowed to enter it,” Cynthia said in a gloomy tone. She didn’t like the fact that the important decisions of her life were mostly taken by other people.

“Don’t worry. If I find anything inside the Ancient Legacy Land that might help in your Cultivation I will certainly get it for you,” Ryan said with a sunny laugh.
