When the dragon disappeared over the treetops, the green aura of protection fell from Queen Dowager and her sister, and their mouths gaped at the destruction that surrounded them on all sides. The younger sister fell to her knees and began to weep with pity at all that had befallen the brave giant soldiers that night, but Queen Dowager frowned in disgust at the weakness of her army.
“Get up, Beni. We have much to rebuild,” Queen Dowager ordered, and she marched over in the ruin where she thought the entrance to the dungeon would be. Reaching a gloved hand down into the hot ash, she felt around until she found an iron ring on the ground. She gripped the ring in her hands, and she pulled back with all of her might. A round section of floor began to rise, and she flung the hidden door open. “Come, sister. Stop your crying and bring me a light.” Doing as she was told, the younger sister cast a spell of light, and they descended into the depths of the dungeon to set free the remaining giants. Traitors, liars, thieves, murderers, and fornicators were all set free that day to begin the long and troublesome rebuilding of Queen Dowager’s castle.
