“Patience,” he said. “Good things come to those who wait.”

“Well...we got a brawl going on out there. Might not have time for that.”

He’d totally forgotten about the fight, Lexi having the effect on him of forgetting all about the rest of the world.

Jason, still rubbing her clit, moved his middle and index fingers inside of her, curling them and sliding them in and out, hitting her G-spot just right. Lexi moaned, having trouble focusing on stroking his cock. He kept at it, the scent of her cunt filling the air the more turned-on she became.

Finally, he felt a rush of wetness as Lexi had her first orgasm, her legs shaking and her moans sharp and quick. She wrapped her hand around his cock, trying to stroke him but having trouble.

When she was done, he took his fingers out of her. Lexi glanced over her shoulders, watching as he put his fingers in his mouth, sucking off her glistening juices.

“Tastes just as good as I thought. Better, even.”

Lexi bit her lip again, and he could tell what he’d done had turned her on like mad.

And he couldn’t hold back either. Watching her come had made him mad with desire, and all he could think about was what he wanted next.

Jason took hold of her thong and pulled it down, letting the blue underwear drop to her ankles, her pussy bare and wet in front of him. Then he pulled up her shirt—his shirt—and exposed the simple white bra she wore underneath.

He didn’t waste any time unclasping it and pulling the straps over her shoulders, letting the bra drop down to the ground by her feet. She turned, her naked body on full display.

Jason was stunned, beside himself with how gorgeous she was. Her breasts were full and round, her nipples small and pink. Her belly was flat, her hips wide, a small patch of dark hair above her cunt.

He was expecting her to be stunning underneath her clothes, but he hadn’t been expecting her to be about the most gorgeous woman he’d ever seen naked in front of him.

Jason wanted her like crazy, totally unable to hold back any longer. He reached his arms around her legs, lifting her off her feet. Lexi let out an excited shriek, wrapping her legs around his hip. He set her down on top of a nearby stack of boxes, his cock pressed against her soaking wet pussy.

“You want this inside you?” he growled. “You want to feel this cock in you?”

“I do,” she moaned. “I want it so fucking badly.”

  “Then ask for it.”

She smirked. “Give it to me. Please.”

Jason grinned, thrilled with her response. “Glad to see you can be a good girl when you want to be.”

  “You have no idea.”

With that, he took hold of his cock and dragged it once more over her wet line before placing it at her opening. Then, with a slow push, he moved his cock into her.

Jason’s eyes went wide—he was totally unable to process just how good it felt to have her pink, wet lips wrapped around his cock. She moaned, putting her hands on his shoulders and guiding him with her body to move deeper into him. He looked down, watching as each of his many inches disappeared into her, Lexi’s cunt accommodating his thick length with ease.

She took all of him into her, and rested her head on his shoulder once he was buried to the root. Jason focused on the sensation, her walls warm and velvety, wrapped around him like his cock was made for her cunt.

He shoved into her again and again, her tits bouncing with each push, her mouth opening into a wide “O” as her eyes winced shut. He kept his hands on her hips, holding her in place as he pounded her hard, filling her full of his cock.

“I want you to come for me,” he said, his voice a low growl. “I want you to come for me right now.”

At that moment, their eyes locked on one another, Jason commanding her to come, they were alpha and omega. There was more to their lovemaking than just sex; there was something deep and natural and powerful, something they couldn’t ignore.

She nodded, and Jason felt her pussy grip onto him even harder still as another orgasm ran through her body. This pressure pushed his orgasm over the line, and he couldn’t hold back any longer. He grunted her, stabbing her with his cock again, his prick pulsing and shooting out rope after rope of thick, warm cum deep inside of her.

Their orgasms faded, Jason’s eyes going wide for a brief moment as it dawned on him just how intense what they’d done had been. He wanted to kiss her, he wanted to hold her.

But more than that, he wanted to claim her. To imprint upon her.

  To make her his.

The thought frightened him, and Jason quickly took his cock out from inside of her, Lexi’s pussy soaking wet.

“That was...that was something else,” she said. “Definitely worth the risk.”

But Jason was serious, pulling up his jeans as he tried to process what had happened.

That wasn’t just some fuck, he thought. That was...I don’t even know what that was. Something new, that’s for damn sure.

“Yo,” said Lexi. “Earth to Jason. What the hell’s going on with you?”

Fuck—I must look on my face as weird as I feel inside. But she can’t know anything about what I’m thinking.

“Nothing,” he said. “Just taking in the afterglow, you know?”

She grinned, hopping off the boxes onto her feet, Lexi’s round breasts bouncing as she hit the floor.

“I know. That was...amazing. You really know how to make a girl feel good, you know?”

She dressed, putting her tits back into her bra and pulling up her thong.

“Glad to hear it,” he said. “And you really know your way around a cock.”

Lexi looked like she wanted to say something, but appeared to think better of it.

“What?” asked Jason as he finished buttoning and zipping.

She shook her head. “Nothing. It’s fine.”

Part of him wanted to press, but as a man who liked to keep things to himself, he knew it wasn’t a good idea to force women to share things on their minds. When they wanted to share, they’d do it on their own time.

They both finished dressing, Lexi stepping over to Jason and putting her hands on his waist.

“You’re still a prick,” she said. “But that was nice. And...thanks for sticking up with me back there with Chad.”

“Hey, any excuse to put that prick in his place.”

She stepped up on her tip-toes, planting a quick kiss on his lips.

“After you,” he said, opening the door. Lexi smiled and stepped out, Jason following her.

They were far enough from the party that the fight wasn’t still going on.

Together, they walked around the shed, the party still happening as normal, a few guys here and there nursing their wounds.

“Well,” said Jason. “That was a nice little reunion.”

“I’ll say,” she said. “See you around.”

She winked at him over her shoulder before stepping back toward the party.

And Jason was left alone, wondering what the hell it all had meant.

  CHAPTER 7

  LEXI

For the next week, all Lexi could think about were two things: the sex, and how much she wanted to leave.

She couldn’t figure out which of the two were more pressing. But it seemed like every time she closed her eyes, she was either fantasizing about those amazing minutes she and Jason had spent together or imagining shifting into her bear form and tearing through the forest, not stopping until she was long gone.

And she had a secret, one she hadn’t told anyone, let alone Jason.

She was a virgin. Or, at least, she had been a virgin.

All her life she’d heard from her mother how important it was for an omega to stay “pure,” to save herself for her marriage to the perfect alpha. She’d never really bought into it, always thinking that virginity was some overrated, old-fashioned concept.

Really, she’d wanted to lose her virginity as quickly as she could. But one problem—not a si
ngle man had appealed to her in that way. Not even a handsome alpha like Chad, as much of a prick as he was, made her want to give herself over like that.

No one until Jason, that is. And she still couldn’t figure out why she’d done it, why he’d appealed to her in such a way. But whatever the reason, she’d given him the one thing she couldn’t ever give to anyone else.

And he didn’t know it. Part of her wanted to tell him, but another part thought it would be too much.

Not to mention the scandal if it were to get out. She could only imagine how Chad and his family and everyone else in the pack would react if they were to learn she’d slept with Jason only a week before she was to be wedded to her alpha, her life mate.

But the time for fantasizing was over. It was the day before the ceremony. Lexi seemed to be in the exact opposite mood of everyone around.

“So,” said Shana, the two of them off in the woods, away from the camp. “Tell me how excited you are?”

“‘Excited’ is the last word I’d use to describe how I feel. I mean, this is it—as soon as I get married to Chad, that’s the end of my life.”

“Aw,” said Shana, waving her hand through the air. “That’s...that’s like the most depressing way imaginable to look at it. You’re going to be a wife, and you’re finally going to get your alpha. Sure, Chad might be a dumbass, but at least you’ll get some kids out of the deal, right?”

  “Kids that are half his.”

“You’ll still love them, trust me.”

Lexi sighed and stared off into the woods.

“Please, please tell me you’re not thinking about him,” said Shana.

“I can’t help it!” said Lexi. “I mean, the sex was amazing.”

“You know, that was risky. You hooked up with a guy who’s betrothed, after all.”

Lexi couldn’t help but laugh at the statement. “Oh, you mean the guy who’s set to marry a woman who’s been hooking up with Kurt for the last few weeks?”

Shana laughed along with her. “You know I’m screwing around. But seriously, Kurt and Maddie need to find a way to keep their little thing more discreet.”

Lexi was relieved. “No kidding—they’re going to get busted before too long if they keep it up. But anyway, like I said, the sex was something else.”

“Not like you have anything to compare it to, right?” Shana gave her a friendly push on the shoulder.

“That doesn’t matter. The weirdest thing is that I don’t feel like I need any other sex to compare it to. What happened between Jason and I was...God, I don’t even know how to describe it.”

“Well, you should be describing it like it’s something that only happened in your imagination. Lexi, you slept with another alpha before your wedding—that’s serious shit.”

“It’s done—nothing I can do about it now.”

Shana shook her head. “What’s he had to say about it, anyway?”

“Chad? You think I’ve actually told him?”

“No, not Chad—Jason. Have you guys, you know, talked about what happened?”

“Not once. We haven’t talked period since the night of the party.”

“Are you serious? What, have you two been avoiding each other?”

“No. We both needed to act like it never happened. And that’s just what we’re doing.”

“I don’t know if that’s a long-term solution, Lex. You guys are in the same pack—it’s going to come out sooner or later.”

“Not if I have anything to say about it.”

Silence fell over the two of them, and before Lexi could say another word, she caught the scent of something strange on the air.

  “You...you smell that?”

It was late afternoon, the sun coming in low through the trees, the wind gentle.

  “What? What’re you talking about?”

“That smell. You can’t pick up on it?”

  “Nope. What is it?”

“Smells like...like an alpha. One of our alphas.”

  “Out here in the woods?”

Lexi didn’t respond, instead sniffing the air again. The more she detected it, the more it smelled to her like someone very, very familiar.

  “Chad.”

“What? You smell Chad out here?”

“No doubt. I’ve been around that shithead enough to know his scent. And he’s an alpha—it’s ten times stronger than a normal shifter.”

“What would Chad be doing out here in the middle of the woods? It’s the day before the wedding—he’s supposed to be home with his dad and uncles doing all that ceremonial crap.”

“I don’t know,” said Lexi, standing up. “But it’s definitely him. Come on.”

“‘Come on?’ What are you talking about?”

Lexi didn’t reply, instead shifting into her bear form and taking off.

“Lexi!” shouted Shana after her. “Come on!”

Lexi glanced back to see Shana shift and follow her. She kept on through the woods, following the scent. She couldn’t put her finger on why, but she knew that something strange was going on—there was no reason for Chad to be this far out into the woods so close to the ceremony.

The smell grew stronger and stronger, and soon she spotted a handful of figures off in the distance. Lexi stopped and shifted back, hiding behind a nearby tree and staring hard at the men.

Chad was one of them. Shana shifted back and joined her behind the tree.

“That’s him, right?” she asked. “But...who the hell are those other guys?”

“No idea. But they’re not Thundertooth.”

“Why would Chad be meeting members of another pack out here?”

Lexi watched the group in silence.

“Hold on,” she said. “I’m going to get closer.”

  “Wait, what? Lex!”

Lexi hurried forward, getting another couple dozen feet nearer to the group. She still couldn’t hear what they were saying, but she was close enough to see the serious, grave expressions on their faces.

She sniffed the air, recognizing the scents as others from around the area, the smells the same as some of the other members of other packs at the parties. But the men Chad was talking with were, well, men. They were older, likely high-ranking alphas of their packs.

Then Chad stopped, his eyebrows raising as he picked up on something else.

  Her scent.

“Lex!” hissed Shana. “We need to go, now!”

Lexi was in total agreement. She waited for Chad to turn his attention back to the conversation, then she and Shana shifted into their bear forms and hurried back to the Thundertooth camp.

“That...that was really stupid, Lex. What if they saw you?”

“What, you think they were doing something that they didn’t want anyone else to see?”

She gave Lexi a concerned look, one that suggested the answer was yes.

“You’ve got a bad feeling about this too, right?” asked Lexi.

“Yeah, I do. But I can’t put my finger on what it is, exactly.”

“I...I need to talk to Chad.”

  “Are you serious?”

  “Serious. Tonight.”

  “Lex, I don’t know if that’s a good idea.”

“I don’t know if it is either. But there’s not a chance in hell I’m going to marry him if I’ve got the slightest doubt that I can trust him.”

“So...that means you’re going along with it?”

  “Huh?”

“The marriage. You’re going through with it?”

Lexi let out a sigh as if realizing what she’d said, and what it meant.

“I...I don’t know. What else can I do? My family’s counting on me, the clan’s counting on me...and maybe this is my destiny, and I just have to accept it.”

But the moment the words left her mouth, the image of Jason appeared. And when it did, a feeling she hadn’t known in as long as she could remember flowed through her.

  Freedom.

Thinking of him, thinking of thei
r lovemaking, made her happier than she’d been in years—at the very least, since the marriage to Chad had been arranged.

“I don’t know either, Lex. Only you can make this call.”

As if on cue, Lex’s phone vibrated in her pocket. She took it out and saw it was a text from Chad.

Her gut sank at reading his name. Had he seen her? Had he known she was there the entire time?

Her hand shaking, she read the text.

“Sup, sexy? I want to see you tonight. Come over after the dinner.”

  “Is that him?”

“It’s him. He wants me to come over tonight.”

  “Why?”

“I don’t know. But it doesn’t sound like I can say no.”

Lexi’s heart was tight with fear.

All she could do was fear the worst.

  CHAPTER 8

  JASON

He couldn’t take his eyes off of her.

It was the night before the wedding, which meant the entire clan was gathered for a feast, a massive dinner and party that was the tradition before any joining ceremony.

And damn, thought Jason, did Lexi look incredible. She wore a form-fitting blue dress, one that hinted at tits that—by experience now—he knew were the most perfect set of breasts on earth. Her hair was up, and even in the low light of the evening, her pale skin seemed to glow.

But she was getting married to a guy who was possibly the biggest prick in the state. Chad was all smiles, of course, knowing in less than a day, he’d be getting what he wanted. He’d have an omega all of his own to claim, and once he’d imprinted on her, it’d only be a matter of time before the clan was his.

All Jason could do was watch and sip his drink, waiting for it all to be over.

Rick, Chad’s father, gave a speech that ended up being pretty moving. He talked about how he’d known Lexi since she was a cub, how she’d always been strong and independent and courageous, and that he couldn’t imagine a better fit for the clan’s omega.

“Yeah,” Jason said to himself. “We’re going to need the best omega there is to balance out the worst possible alpha.”

  “Wow, someone’s bitter.”

He glanced over to see Eric, his brother, approaching where he stood at the edge of the party. He grinned as he formed up at his side.
