So Many Tears 2 Page 9

“Now, what was that, Kim?” Glenda boasted. “My big money favorite nephew showed you what he can do for you. That nigga went got a parole lawyer, spent major money, and got her parole approved out here in Texas instead of Louisiana, on that ass. He went did all the groundwork to get her home, and here she is…on your birthday. Now, talk that shit!”

Kay soothingly rubbed her daughter’s back, while kissing her face. “Stop that crying.”

“I can’t,” Kim boohooed. “These are tears of joy. Why nobody told me?” she clung to her mama for dear life, while everybody looked over on with misty eyes.

“When Rashad told me that it wasn’t showing up on the computer, I told him not to tell you. Especially since we knew that it would be on the same day as your birthday,” Kay confessed.

“Oh, my God,” Kim praised, stomping her feet. “I swear, this was all I wanted,” she sniveled. “You just don’t know.”

Kay’s bottom lip helplessly trembled. “I know, baby. Me too. Me too.” She squeezed her child tighter.

“Man,” Taraj mumbled, as she had to look away, as a tear slipped from her eye.

Standing next to her, Taz eased an arm over her shoulder, and peered down at her face. “You alright?”

Silently, she nodded, as she leaned into his body for comfort.

Everyone allowed Kim and Kay to have their moment, hugging and crying together. Eventually, they tired themselves out, and finally released one another. Kay then stepped back and beheld her only child.

“Kimberly Bell, look at you,” she inhaled, while carefully inspecting her from head to toe. To her, her baby had always been a beauty, but she’d now blossomed into a fully-grown woman, and it was showing. The days of keeping it simple and unsuspecting were seemingly now gone. Everything was now more in your face, as she wore beautifully done make-up, dramatic lashes, overly-emphasized curls in her hair which had clip-ins to add length, which extended down to her ass, which perfectly accentuated her bodycon yellow dress, chandelier earrings, and leafy Giuseppe stilettos. “My baby looks like something right out of a magazine. Stepping on all these bitches’ necks,” she cussed, shocking many. “Yesss, I see you, daughter.”

Kim couldn’t stop blushing. “Mama, stop. I get it from you. I mean, look at you.”

Kay did a quick spin for everybody, knowing that she was indeed fine as wine. She was a nice size 12 with dips and curves in all the right places. Thankfully, she’d been able to walk into the room confidently because one of her men friends had made sure to buy her a PINK outfit to come home in. Then her girl back in prison had neatly braided her long hair back, so she was set.

Kim shook her head with a smile, before turning to gaze at Rashad. He was coolly chilling off to the side, with his hands stuffed in his pockets. Abruptly, she rushed over to him, wrapping her arms around his neck, while raining kissing all over his face. “Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank youuuuu,” she cried.

Wrapping his arms around her waist, he rocked her side to side. “No need to thank me, girl. You know I’ll do anything to see you smile. I told you that.” He kissed her lips.

Kim wiped her eye. “Uh, I can’t stop crying. Man, I’ll never forget this day. I’ll love you forever for this. I swear.”

He smiled gently while palming her ass. “And that’s all I want.”

“Okay, okay,” Anya waltzed over, grabbing Kim’s hand, pulling her away from Rashad. “It’s a party going on here, in case yall forgot. So, let’s get to it.”

Placing up a palm, Kim rolled her eyes. “Girl, bye.”

Switching over, Kay removed Kim’s hand out of Anya’s and clasped it herself. “Yeah, come on, baby. Let’s go cut your cake. It’s been so long since I’ve had some cake and ice cream.”

Folding his arms across his chest, Rashad stood back, truly gratified to witness his girl behave like a child with her mama back at her side. Then somehow, his mind betrayed him, as it drifted to his own mother, as he wondered what was going on with her.

Thankfully, his thoughts were interrupted by the vibrating of his cell. Checking out the screen, he realized that it was a text from Connie. It read: Guess who came to see me. Rashad’s heart dropped down to his stomach when he saw the picture of his mama smiling back at him.

Gulping, he attempted to process what he was looking at. Reeah appeared just as beautiful as she was when Rashad was growing up, but also healthy, and clean. For a brief second, he saw a glimmer of hope, but quickly shook it off.

“Nah, I bet she’s still with the bullshit,” he mumbled to himself.

“Who?” Kim questioned, catching him off guard.

He whipped his head around. “Aye, don’t be sneaking up on me like that, girl. You almost got fucked up.”

She smirked. “Yeah, okay. Picture that. But uh, let me talk to you in the back, right quick.”

He furrowed his brows. “What’s up?”

She tilted her head, as she grabbed his hand. “Just come on.”

Tugging him along, they traveled through the house, all the way up to their bedroom. Once in the room Kim locked the door, before leaning up against it, while facing him.

Rashad slyly grinned. “Aye, what you doing, girl? You got your people down there gathered on your behalf. We got all night to be holed up in this room.”

She sexily licked her lips, causing his dick to jump. “Don’t play with me. You know exactly what I want.”

He raked his hand over the two thick braids centered at the top of his head. “Oh, yeah? And what’s that?”

She pushed herself off the door and moved in on him. “Right now,” she sultrily voiced, before dropping to her knees. “It’s your dick down my throat.”

Rashad couldn’t control the grin that invaded his face. “Well, shit, go for what you know.”

Needing to hear nothing further, Kim wasted no time going into his jeans, and unleashing his dick. In a mixture of lust and admiration, he watched, as she hungrily took him into her mouth. Sloppily, she sucked him off, making sure to loudly slurp, just the way he liked it. Vigorously, she worked her neck, mouth, and hands. Soon, Rashad didn’t know whether he was coming or going.

“Damn, bae,” he moaned, with his eyes closed tightly, while he held the top of her head with both hands.

Determined to literally bring him to his knees, Kim deep throated him, and that did it. He collapsed into the bed behind him, and she never lost her grip. She sucked like a crazed maniac.

“Got damn!” he grunted, gritting his teeth.

Gazing up, Kim locked eyes with him, letting him know that she didn’t come to play. She was clearly there to confiscate his soul. Her gag reflexes were non-existent as she made him fuck her throat.

Rashad’s back stiffened and his toes curled in his shoes, as he violently erupted. “Fuuuuck!”

“Hmmmmmmm,” Kim hummed on him, while swallowing his thick semen.

“Shit, bae,” he sputtered weakly, as he studied her. “The fuck that come from?”

Lifting her head, Kim wiped her mouth with her thumb, before grinning. “That was just a little treat. You brought my mommy home to me. You’ve been a good boy. What did you expect?”

He smiled. “So, that’s how you feeling?”

“Yep. Your every wish is my command, right about now. I mean anything. Shit, it’s whatever. You wanna bring another bitch in here tonight, and have it your way? It really doesn’t matter. I’m game.”

Rashad sat up and licked his lips. “Wait, what did you say?”

“You heard me. I said that it’s whatever you want, however you want it,” she clarified.

He narrowed his eyes. “And you’d really be alright with me fucking another bitch?”

She tucked her lips into her mouth and nodded. “Yeah, as long as it’s not behind my back or anything. What, is that something you’d want to do?”

He thought about it for a second. “Honestly…nah.”

She gave him the side eye. “Rashad.”

  “Rashad, w
hat?”

“So, you mean to tell me that you wouldn’t enjoy fucking me and another girl at the same time?”

“I mean, honestly, there aint shit that I haven’t done before,” he admitted. “So, a threesome is cool, but I don’t think I like the spark in your eyes, as you talk about it. Seems like your freaky ass would like the shit more than I would. And Ion wanna have to fuck nobody up, so we’ll leave that shit where it’s at.”

“You sure?” she arched a brow.

His eyes wandered over her body. “I know that I’ma stingy nigga. Ion do no sharing. So, yeah, I’m sure.”

“Okay.” She shrugged. “This was like a once in a lifetime opportunity, so don’t try to revisit this later,” she warned. “You’ll get cussed out.”

He nodded with smirk. “And I can’t do nothing but respect that.”

“Okay.” She climbed to her feet. “As long as you know what it is.”

  Chapter 8

“Got everything, I got everything. I cannot complain, I cannot. I don't even know how much I really made, I forgot, it's a lot. Fuck that, never mind what I got. Nigga don't watch that 'cause I came up, that's all me, stay true, that's all me. No help, that's all me, all me for real. Came up, that's all me, stay true, that's all me. No help, that's all me, all me for real—"

“Yeah, that’s all me, for real,” Kay rapped, while rocking Minnie Mouse pajamas.

“What the hell?” Kim mumbled under her breath, as she ambled into the kitchen, rocking a silk robe. Instantly, she smiled at the sight of her mama placing breakfast on the table, while bobbing her head to Drake.

Kay had truly outdone herself, laying out a huge spread with bacon, waffles, biscuits, sausages, eggs, fried catfish, and shrimp and grits. Then if that wasn’t heroic enough, she had both little Rashad and Reanah in their highchairs with bottles and food already specifically tailored to their needs. With the amount of time she’d spent on the phone with Kim, she knew exactly what each baby required without any on-site instructions.

“Mama, you wasn’t playing this morning, I see,” Kim acknowledged, as she took a seat at the table.

“Oh, no, ma’am, not at all,” Kay chipperly sang. “You know I’ve never been the one to sleep in, unlike my sister. You see Glenda is still in there slobbering on your good sheets. You need to send her ass home.”

Kim tittered. “Look at you, lady. Been back one day and already trying to send your sister home. You know this is her only job now, right?”

Kay sat down. “Yeah, I know and that’s why I’ma give her a little time. I told her to go find herself a job, cause aint no sense in both of us being here.”

“Hey, I hear you, but on the other hand, you can keep her around and let her actually do her job sometimes. I mean, you do have your own life to tend to and you probably want to go do your own thing, and we’ll have your sister here for that. Cause I know you’ll want to take care of your womanly needs or whatever.”

Kay rolled her eyes. “Girl, please. It really aint that serious. Especially not to the point where a whole full-time nanny is still necessary. Yeah, I have my friends, but I’ll see them whenever I see them. My main priority is my grandbabies, cause Glenda’s ghetto ass don’t know nothing for real, and aint finna teach them nothing. Unless being messy is the only qualifier we want for them.”

Kim’s shoulders trembled with laughter. “Oh, my God, you really be letting your sister have it.”

“No, I’m just saying,” Kay twisted her neck. “That heffa needs to know that these are my grandbabies and not hers. Reanah had the nerve to cry for her this morning. Glenda really thank she’s something cause the babies know her a little better, right now.”

“Mama,” Kim inhaled. “You so jealous.”

“And?” Kay playfully flicked Kim’s nose. “Eat ya food before it gets cold.”

“Damn, Kay,” Rashad grumbled, as he stumbled into the kitchen wearing a wife beater and basketball shorts. “You got it smelling good in here.”

“Yeah, I know,” Kay boasted confidently. “Sit down. I already fixed your plate.”

Pausing for a second, Rashad smiled.

Kay lifted her head, glancing his way. “What?”

He shook his head. “Nothing. Just glad to see you home. That’s all.”

She graciously returned the gesture. “And I’m glad to be here. Now sit your ass down.”

“Mama,” Kim’s jaw dropped. “You aint never been a saint, but you’ve been cussing up a storm, I’m noticing.”

“Girl, please,” Kay waved her off. “Words have no more power than we put into them.”

Rashad’s grin widened, while copping a seat. “See, that’s why I love her. She keeps it real. School ya daughter, mama.”

Kim smiled, as she dug into her food. “I guess.”

“Yeah, that’s right, be quiet and eat that food,” he teased. “You aint got all the back-talk for mama. Some order done been restored around here.”

Kay snickered, before easing a piece of fish into her mouth. Together they sat and ate, which Kay probably enjoyed more than anyone else, because it was a first for her…in this home and with her grandchildren.

Rashad sat silently mapping out his day, when his cell rang. “Hello,” he answered for Connie on the first ring.

“Hey, baby, what’s up?” she questioned.

“Oh, nothing much. Just sitting here eating breakfast with Kim, Kay, and the kids. Why, what’s up?”

“Oh, okay. Well, tell everybody I said hello,” Connie instructed.

“Alright,” he agreed, before quickly regarding Kim and Kay. “Connie says hey.”

Both knowing exactly who she was, although they hadn’t yet developed a personal relationship with her, Kim and Kay spoke back in the background, making sure that Connie heard them.

“Yeah,” Rashad sighed. “So, what’s up?”

“I want you to stop by here before you get to running around today, if you don’t mind.”

  He scowled. “Is something wrong?”

“No, I never said that. Just do what I asked. Can you do that for me?”

He scratched his forehead. “Yeah, I got you.”

“Okay, cool. So, see you when you get here.”

“Alright,” he breathed, as he ended the call.

Knowing that Rashad had illegal dealings with Connie, Kim didn’t pry, and decided to focus on the kids, as he stood up. She figured that it was something that didn’t pertain to her, and she didn’t go around sticking her nose into things that didn’t concern her.

Stepping around the table, Rashad kissed both of his babies, before planting a huge one on Kim. “I’m about to get ready to head out in a minute.”

She nodded while gazing up at him. “Okay. You be good.”

He kissed her one last time. “Always.”

Kay sat back, thinking that she knew her God was real because he’d answered her prayers. Rashad being in Kim’s life was a clear indication of that, without a doubt.

Using his key, Rashad entered Connie’s apartment. Immediately, the aroma of fried chicken hit his nostrils. “Uh, yall got it smelling good in here.”

“That’s your mama,” Connie let him know, as she lounged on the couch. “Baby, she’s in there throwing down.”

Rashad stopped dead in his tracks. “My mama?”

“Yeah, she’s been over here since the other day,” Connie revealed.

“Is that my baby?” Reeah called out from the kitchen, before stepping out into the small dining area. “It is. Hey, mama’s baby.”

Rashad stood staring at his mother. Her light skin was blemish free. She was slim yet still shapely. Her long bushy hair was gathered up into a ponytail, making her appear 20 years younger than she actually was. She was tall just like him, with angular facial features, mirroring his own. There were no evident signs of her drug abuse, however his heart still bore the scars her addiction had left behind.

“You were taking forever to show your face
,” Reeah carried on. “I made your fav—”

“The fuck are you doing here?” Rashad snarled, callously cutting her off.

  Reeah gulped.

  Connie scowled. “Rashad—”

“No, Connie, it’s cool,” Reeah stopped her. “He has every right to be upset with me. So, let him have that. I just wanted you to know that I’m clean now, Rashad. Two months now.”

“And I hear you,” Connie contended. “But you still his mama, Reeah.”

Rashad leaned his head back. “And what that mean?”

“That should mean everything,” Connie preached.

“Nah,” Rashad refuted. “I aint about to let you hit me with that one. That’s that old school shit. It don’t fly this way. Ion owe her shit. There’s no debt. And I choose not to fuck with it. So, call me when she moves around or it’s about business.” He turned to leave. “Yall be easy.”

  ***

Traveling through his home, Rashad had to laugh, as he listened to both Kim and Kay sing off key, loudly.

“Chante's got a man at home. It hurts me that your man's leaving you all alone. I can't help it that your baby's daddy’s creeping out, cheating on ya, beating on ya. Chante's got a man at home. And he's so good to me—"

Moseying into the living room, he discovered Kim sitting on the floor, propped up on some pillows positioned between Kay’s legs, while she greased her scalp. Nothing in the world was sexier to him, as Kim wore a sports bra and Nike shorts, while sitting in Indian style. Her face was bare, allowing her natural beauty to shine through.

The kids were playing on the floor in front of her, as she was seemingly smiling just because, while she continued to sing her heart out. “Listen to me, girls! One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch, girl. He always treats me right, we never fight. He sends me flowers and wines and dines me. Took me home to meet his momma. How he loves me. One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch, girl. Give it one more try. Before ya, before ya give up on love—"

“Damn, it’s like that?” he chuckled, startling everyone.

Kim gasped, as she grabbed her chest. “Boy.”

Rashad laughed. “Boy, you was hitting it. Didn’t even see me come in.”
