Say Yes (Second Generation) Page 6

by C. M. Steele

“Tonight was an eye opener. So you were down at the precinct?”

  “Yes.”

I drop my head and wait for her to lose her shit. “You mean to tell me that you planned to go back and not say a word to me?”

“It’s not that,” I attempt to explain, but I know nothing I have to say is going to be okay.

“It’s exactly that. Dean, I can’t believe you.” She stands up straight, her head slightly tilted up to the sky and I know I’m a fucking idiot because tears are streaming down her face. “How can you do this to me? I don’t even know what to say. I can’t believe I canceled my dorm.” She finishes that last part to herself as if she’s pissed at herself because she’s going to be homeless.

“Don’t think you’re fucking leaving. We can talk this out, but there’s no way I’m letting you walk out of my life.” I reach out for her and she pulls away.

“How dare you! You expect me to wait for someone to come here and tell me my husband is dead because he wanted to go back into the same job that nearly got him killed. I can’t do this, Dean. What other secrets are you keeping from me?”

“Nothing. Fuck, Greta. It wasn’t so much as a secret. I haven’t taken any job. I was offered a desk job, but I wanted to talk to you about it first. I hadn’t worked up the nerve.”

“If that’s true then why were you at the station?”

“I had some legal documents to deal with that could have been mailed in, but since I’d tried to kill time and attempted to stay away from you, I dropped them off.”

“So you’re thinking of going back?”

“Look, I wanted to talk to you about it. I hadn’t said yes at all. In fact, my decision is based solely on what you want and it’s clear that’s a hard no for you. I love you, Greta and I have no intention of letting you go now or ever. My love of catching criminals pales in comparison to the love I have for you.”

“I’m tired. I can’t do this tonight.” I nod. She goes into the guest bedroom, so I walk into ours and use the bathroom and brush my teeth before snatching up another blanket and follow her.

“What are you doing?” she asks when I come into the room.

“If you’re sleeping in here, so am I. You can think all you need, but I’m not going to let you push me away.” I empty my pockets onto the nightstand, but not before I send a text to my former boss and tell him that I’m not interested in returning. Then I strip down to my boxers and tuck myself under the cover I brought in while laying on top of the other one, so we have some separation. Unfortunately, that’s all she gets. She has no idea how much I live for her.

  “Goodnight, my heart and soul.”

“Who’d you text?” she mutters and my heartbeat does double time. That was jealousy in her tone and I’ll take that as a win.

“My old boss. I told him I’m not taking the offer.”

“What?” she screeches, flipping onto her elbows to glare at me in the dark room.

“What? You don’t want me to do it, then I won’t. It’s that fucking simple, Greta. Now get some sleep and you can be mad at me in the morning.”

  ****

The following day, I wake up alone in bed and I’m fucking freaking out. “Greta,” I shout, but she doesn’t answer. Jumping out of bed, I go on the hunt for her. Son of a bitch. She’s not in the apartment. Where the hell could she go? I’ll chase her anywhere, so she’s just silly for running.

I quickly and painfully walk into our bedroom and slip some clothes on. Opening the closet, I breathe a sigh of relief, Greta’s clothes are still there. I remember that I left my phone in the bedroom, so I hurry as best as I can and under it is a note. Went out for bagels. Be back soon. I take my phone and call her.

“Hey, where the hell are you?”

“I…” The phone cuts out. I try her again and it’s not going through.

I get my shoes on and as I do the door opens. “Fuck, there you are.” She sets the bag on the front table. “I thought you left and then you didn’t answer my call.”

“I was in the elevator. I lost my signal for a minute. Didn’t you get my note?”

  “Yes, but I’m scared.”

“So am I, Dean. I love you and I’m not going anywhere, but if you ever keep something from me again, I’m going to rip your balls off and feed them to you.”

“Understood. God, I love you.” I pick her up and carry her to the sofa. I’d bring her to the bedroom but that’s as far as I can make it. I grunt and she doesn’t miss a beat.

“Damn it, Dean. You have to take the medicine.” She tries to get out of my arms, but I tug her back. “You’re in pain.”

“I deserve it. Besides, I need to hold you. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to heal me.” She drops her mouth down on mine and my heart does fucking flips. Pain completely forgotten.

  Five Years Later…

“Dean, don’t you think two babies is enough,” I moan as he thrusts into me from behind. I’m teasing and he knows it. I love having his beautiful babies. We only made it to the edge of the bed before he pounced. My hard nipples scrape against the soft sheets, my knees on the mattress and my ankles trapping his thighs between my legs.

Leaning over my back, holding my hair tight in his fist, he growls against the shell of my ear, “Nope. I need you good and filled.” My pussy wall flutters around his cock, aching to get every drop of his seed. It’s been two years since we had a baby, and my body’s begging for another.

“Fuck, bounce that ass back,” he commands, holding onto my hair. I pop my hips back, working his length.

“You’re so deep,” I moan. The man sees what he’s doing to me as my soaked core shakes around him.

“I want you to feel me with every step you take across that stage. I want you to feel me as you accept that diploma and know that I own that sexy ass.” Today I graduate from Boston College. It took five years, but I’ve done it.

“You’ve always owned me,” I cry out, grabbing the sheets on the bed and bow my back. My orgasm rips through me, hitting every nerve ending down to my soul. With a growl, he fills me up with jets of his cum. His thick forearms stretch out onto the bed as he holds his weight off me. Dean peppers little kisses on my neck and left shoulder blade. We may be catching our breath for a minute because we’re not even close to done.

An hour later, we’re rushing out of the house to make it to the ceremony on time. My parents are back in town for the graduation. We’re not close at all, but they still show when we pay for their tickets to visit.

Becks has been sweet enough to keep our boys for the night. When it’s my turn to walk across the stage, I feel Dean’s eyes roam over me. Stealing a look, I see my husband with a smile of pure pride. I know it’s partly because I’m graduating, but it’s also partly because I’m walking unsteadily. I wink at him and then accept my diploma from the Dean of Technology. We shake hands and I swear, I could hear Dean growl. I love that nutty man. Nothing’s changed in all these years. Benji was right; I wouldn’t be bothered by it one bit.

Once it’s over I run into my husband’s arms and he kisses me with such possessiveness that we draw a crowd of cheers. “I missed your first graduation. I’m so glad I didn’t miss this one.”

  “I love you, Dean.”

“I live for you, Greta. Now it’s time to celebrate with our family and then you and I are going to celebrate in private.”

“Sounds wonderful.” I share brief hugs with both of our parents before Dean pulls me back to him.

“I’m so proud of you, baby,” he whispers as he holds me tight. Just as he does, the skies open up. “Oh no, it’s raining.” It comes down in a flooding downpour that doesn’t stop my husband.

We kiss again and finally he breaks his mouth away before flipping me over his shoulder and carrying me to our car. “It’s just like the night we met except I’m not letting you second guess going home with me.”

  “You nut.”

  “I’m your n
ut.”

“Come on, you two. We’re going to be soaked and dinner’s going to have to be at the house.”

“That’s fine with me,” Dean growls, rubbing my ass.

  Dean Jr.

  Two months later…

I enter my wife's office in the back of the house. She slides her glasses down her nose, looking at me with her pretty eyes. "My parents are stopping by today." We moved into our much larger home outside of the city after she graduated, and I finally retired officially. After we made up, she asked me about the position. It took some convincing, but she got me to call the chief of detectives back and say that I’d gladly accept the desk job temporarily. I gave it my all for those five years, but being a husband and father is so much more fulfilling when I can be present.

She runs her planner and stationery website from home while I do some consulting for the police on occasion, but for the most part, I’m a stay-at-home dad. We’re rich, so it’s not like we need the money, but it keeps us from losing our sanity.

"That's great. We haven't seen them in a couple of weeks." We love my parents so much, and they adore their grandbabies, so it’s hard when they don’t get to see them often. My parents went on an anniversary trip and just returned yesterday.

"It's more than that... they have a surprise for the kids..."

"Are you talking about the pups?" We’ve talked about it for some time, especially since my parents’ dogs had a new litter.

"Yes." Greta’s eyes widen with joy. It’s incredible how much our kids look like their momma when they smile.

"They're going to lose their minds."

"What do you think?" I question, knowing the answer’s visible in her eyes.

"I'm fine. Happy even. I love your parents' dogs, but my dear husband I also have some news for you."

  "What is it?"

"You've gotten your wish. We're having baby number three."

"What? We're having another baby?" I throw my hands up in pure joy. The thought of another little one makes me happy. I wondered because she didn't get her monthly visitor, but I wasn’t going to pressure her. She nods her head and smiles widely. "I love you, Greta." I take her in my arms and kiss my wife until she's breathless.

“As you should. I love you too, Dean.”

I want to celebrate privately, but the doorbell’s ringing already.

We greet our family and our new additions to the family. Then, we spend the rest of the night celebrating very well. I’m so grateful she said yes.

  THE END…For Now
