Requiem let out a long sigh, one hand pinned against Damion’s bare chest while the other lay curled against his cheek, allowing him to feel Damion’s jaw move as they kissed. It was… nice.

Damion pulled back after a few minutes. “You feeling okay?”

Blinking, Requiem nodded, taking his hands back almost abruptly, thinking he had done something wrong. “Affirmative.” Then he thought about it for moment, squirming slightly. “Although I admit that I may require a shower.”

“You didn’t do anything wrong.” Damion chortled and sat up. “Even if I could go for another round, I don’t think you’d be able to walk tomorrow.”

Requiem watched him, shifting into a sitting position as he tilted his head, his brow furrowed in confusion. He didn’t notice it, but each day he suspected more and more emotion showed on his face, in his body language, and not just his eyes. “Another round? I do not understand?”

“Having sex again. Sorry, it’s slang.” Damion sniggered again. “I forget myself at times.”

“You… can do that? More than once in one day?” Requiem inquired curiously as he slid to the edge of the bed. He was covered in sticky fluids, seemingly all over, and they were starting to dry and become a little itchy.

“Oh yeah, but I wouldn’t recommend it because from what I read, it can get you a little more than just sore.” Damion gave him a wry grin. “At least not until you get used to it more.”

“You would want me again?” Requiem asked, surprised. In the past, the two Fighters who raped him only performed the action once. It was painful, but thankfully quick. After that, they would either roll over and go to sleep or throw him away in one fashion or another. Never had they used him more than once or twice. He really needed to get used to the thought that in all ways, Damion was different. Requiem had come to the conclusion that the Fighters had believed that if they raped him more than once, they would fall into the stigma of being labeled a homosexual.

“That was my plan until… until, well, until we’ve had enough of it.” Damion scratched the back of his head, looking embarrassed.

“Have you had enough sex?” Requiem inquired simply, pushing up from the bed to stand, then turning around to look at Damion. Requiem tilted his head. He ignored the sticky fluid that seeped out of his stretched hole and down his inner thighs.

Damion shook his head frantically. “No. Hell no.”

Requiem kept his icy gaze on Damion’s face for a few moments. He wanted to take a shower, but he also wanted to experience more. Wanted to feel good again. “Then why do you wish to stop now if you haven’t had enough?” He really was a bit confused.

Damion blinked. “Because if we do it again right now, then tomorrow you might hurt.”

“I am used to pain. And you want to,” Requiem said with a casual shrug, wondering what the issue was before he turned and walked to the bathroom, intent on a shower.

“Wait.” Damion stood up quickly, following him. “You want more?”

Requiem had already turned the shower on and was pulling a clean towel out of the closet. “Any hypothesis that needs to be proven takes several experiments before the testing is complete and a conclusion is made.” He didn’t look at Damion, instead putting the towel on the counter before turning back toward the now steaming shower.

“You could have just said you didn’t mind letting me fuck you again even if it meant having a sore ass tomorrow.” Damion walked into the bathroom behind him. He turned Requiem around and kissed him deeply, eagerly.

If Damion didn’t have such a grip on him, Requiem might have fallen backward into the shower. His eyes were wide as Damion’s lips met his, hot and demanding. But they soon slipped closed, his pale body melting against Damion’s tan one as his lips, tongue, and teeth responded in kind.

It took a few moments before Requiem heard an external pounding through the rush of the water in the tub and his own distraction. Reluctantly he pulled away slightly, his lips still touching Damion’s. “Someone is at the door.”

“Damn it,” Damion cursed, grabbing the towel Requiem had placed on the counter to wrap around his waist, trying to hide his hard-on. “Whoever that is better be here to warn us the ship is under attack.”

  Damion

AS DAMION opened the door, Juni’s frowning face was the exact opposite of what Damion wanted to see. “What!”

He was aware of Requiem in the bathroom, listening.

“You weren’t answering your vid, so I got concerned!” Juni spat. “And then your door was locked, so I wanted to make sure you were okay. Gods, sorry for being a friend. What’s got your pants in a twist?”

“You seem to have this ability to always know when I’m about to have sex!” Damion spat in return before he could stop himself.

Juni stared at Damion in rare stillness, his eyes wide, mouth open from where his jaw had dropped. After a few silent moments, his face stretched into a lecherous grin. Then he got a glint in his eyes before purring, “And where the hell did you find a girl so soon after getting back from leave, huh? That’s quick work.”

“I didn’t.” Damion rubbed his face with his left hand, since his right was holding the towel up.

Juni blinked, the smile fading slightly as he took in Damion’s state and then looked over Damion’s shoulder to the crumpled and dirty sheets. His eyes flicked back to Damion, widening. “Where’s 47?”

“In the shower.” Damion’s smile was tight and tense as he stared at his friend. “Look, either come in or not, but let’s not talk with you in the hallway, okay?”

Juni seemed to waver between the two options. “Is… just…. Gods, is 47 okay? Just answer me that.” After he realized what he was insinuating, Juni rushed on. “Not that I think you’ve hurt him, I don’t! I know you never would, but he was so upset with you. It just seems like a weird turn of events. I, out of everyone, have no room to judge.”

Damion groaned and wanted to smack Juni, but instead he just nodded. “He’s fine. We’re fine. He… I…. We just resolved our issues.”

Juni snorted, rolling his eyes. “Is that what they’re calling it nowadays?” he drawled, but then went pale at Damion’s glare. “I’ll just—” He smiled, pointing over his shoulder with his thumb and backing away slowly. “—leave. You kids have fun now.” And with that, he ran.

“Going to kick your ass, you spoiled idiot!” Damion yelled out the door before heading back to the bathroom. He was instantly saddened when it looked like Requiem was already finished. “Done?”

Requiem looked up, blinking through the hanging folds of the towel draped over his head. “Showers do not take that long,” he replied with a very brief, small, and awkward smile before continuing to dry his hair.

Damion sighed, unwrapping the towel around his waist. He had felt arousal with many of his sexual encounters, but giving in to a desire he had wanted to fulfill for so long had made the moment amazing, and he wanted a reprise. “I was hoping you would wait.”

“For what? I am still here, am I not?”

Requiem put his towel on the counter and tilted his head slightly. Damion could see faint bruises that still showed starkly against the pale skin on Requiem’s hips and neck. Requiem took the towel from Damion, folding it neatly next to his own.

Damion shook his head, “You know, to have sex again. It was Juni at the door thinking we had suddenly died.”

“Generally sex requires the participation of two people. Therefore I had no choice but to wait for you since you were not here. If I had gone somewhere else, then that would have implied that I did not wait for you. Yet I am still here.”

“Yes, but now we can’t have sex in the shower because you’re done with the shower. I mean—Never mind.” Damion shook his head in frustration. “I guess you’re not interested anymore. I’m going to kill Juni.”

“Sometimes you make absolutely no sense, despite your high i
ntelligence,” Requiem said, with a shake of his head. He walked over to the shower and turned it back on. He turned to Damion, tilting his head slightly. “You need to take one as well, correct? There is no need to terminate Juni.”

“I could have also had sex again, and if Juni hadn’t come here, then I would have gotten it,” Damion pointed out as he stepped into the spray of water.

Requiem merely looked at him for a moment, almost in disbelief. “Your test scores and IQ tests rank one of the highest in the Corporation, did you know that?”

“They do?” Damion shrugged. “I guess that’s why I got into the Alpha program quickly.”

“Affirmative. So I am intrigued by how someone so intelligent can be so dense at times,” Requiem said with a brief smile and a shake of his head. Reaching into the shower with a slightly shaky hand, he gripped Damion by the back of the neck with a mere press of fingers, leaning in to kiss him. He gave a brief brush of lips against Damion’s before pulling away. “I am being clear now, yes?”

“Yes. That I understand.” Damion dragged Requiem under the spray and began kissing him as he had wanted to before being disturbed. He was suddenly squeezing Requiem’s tight ass and grinding their hips together.

Instantly soaked again, Requiem wrapped trembling arms around him, moaning in a barely audible tone against Damion’s mouth. He choked on a gasp when Damion grabbed his butt tightly, rubbing their needs together.

Damion kissed across Requiem’s jaw and down the pale column of his neck. He was so worried about hurting or scaring him that he failed to take his usual initiative when it came to having sex. And while Requiem was trembling a bit in nervousness, he was also tilting his head to the side to give Damion more access to his neck. Requiem’s hands gripped Damion’s shoulders as he tried to keep his balance on the slippery shower floor.

Damion bit his way up to Requiem’s ear. His fingers delved into Requiem’s ass cleft, teasing his entrance. When his teeth reached Requiem’s ear, a tingle raced through him and he suspected Requiem felt the same as he gasped and pulled away slightly, bringing soaked, bandaged fingers to his ear in wonderment. Requiem looked into nothing for a moment before looking up at Damion’s face.

Damion could see his confusion. “I was just trying to get you aroused,” he explained as he looked down at their mutual erections. “I figure it’s more fun if we’re both hard.”

“I understand your actions. I just do not understand my reaction,” Requiem replied hesitantly, his fingers still touching his ear. “My… when you bit my ear it….”

“It felt good? It made your body respond?” Damion chuckled and pulled Requiem’s fingers away from his ear. “Everyone has sensitive, erogenous zones. It’s nothing to be worried about.”

“If you say so,” Requiem said hesitantly, his hand wrapping around Damion’s.

He looked back up into Damion’s eyes for a moment before he leaned in to lay a light kiss on Damion’s lips. A bare, feather touch of skin.

“That feels nice.” Damion laughed softly, a mere rumble in his chest. “Want to go back to the bed since we might slip and fall in here?”

“I… like it when your lips turn up like that,” Requiem said instead of responding to Damion’s question. His fingers ran over said lips before moving to the left side of his own bare chest, over one of his ports and his heart. “It makes me feel warm here. It is perplexing.”

“That’s just your emotions making your heart clench. It happened to me when we were in bed.” Damion pressed two fingers against Requiem’s entrance.

“It… did? Why?” was all Requiem was able to get out before he gasped, his body clenching around Damion’s pressure. He managed to relax, though, and ended up against the wall. “Sorry,” he mumbled.

“It’s okay.” Damion turned off the water and pulled away. “Let’s go to the bed.”

“Will we not just end up having to wash again?” Requiem asked confusedly.

“Probably, but it’s better than me not paying attention and one of us slipping and falling.” Damion was used to sex with girls, and he wasn’t sure if they would need more lube. The fact he was now willing to do this with another man no longer worried him. He desired Requiem. He wanted to have sex with him. The kissing seemed to make Requiem pliable. Damion felt like a teenager, but the lust was tinted with the need to protect.

“You are right. It would not be good if we have to take a trip to Medical for something we could have prevented.” Requiem stepped out of the shower, grabbing his still-damp towel and handing Damion his own.

“Don’t need that yet.” Damion bent down with a bark of laughter and picked Requiem up, almost like a princess. Requiem actually squeaked as Damion lifted him up and carried him into the room to drop him onto the bed with a bounce. Before he could recover, Damion’s mouth was on him and Requiem grasped his shoulders tightly. They were both dripping with water and messing the bed up more than it already was, but Damion just didn’t care as Requiem’s spread legs rubbed against the outside of his.

Damion trailed his lips back to Requiem’s ear, since that seemed to really get his attention. He started nibbling at the lobe and then gently swirled his tongue inside. Damion was already hard just from this simple foreplay. He was happy to find every part of Requiem that elicited a shiver or a moan.

Damion spent the next two hours exploring Requiem again and again, until they were both near unconsciousness.

They never did make it back to the shower.

  Requiem

CORES WERE not supposed to have the ability to dream. They were purposefully given a chemical to shut down the visions seen during REM sleep. But while Requiem slept, he dreamed. For the first time that he could remember, he saw pictures in his mind that didn’t really make sense, but they were there all the same. Flashes of images in color and black-and-white, pictures made of electricity and flashing pulses of moving light.

No, the dream didn’t make much sense, but there was one thing, one person, that appeared in each sequence, and that was Damion. Requiem’s partner, Fighter, and now lover.

Requiem woke with a sharp intake of breath, his muscles twitching in an attempt to sit up, but he found himself unable to move with Damion’s weight on him. Requiem looked over at Damion’s sleeping, peaceful face. Damion, whose arm was currently wrapped around Requiem’s waist, keeping him where he was. Requiem ran gentle fingers over Damion’s face, and Damion merely smiled in his sleep, rubbing against those fingers for a moment before settling back down.

Slowly, carefully, Requiem slid out from Damion’s grasp and out of the bed, standing with some difficulty due to a slight pain in his lower back. He winced, then let a brief smile touch his lips as he limped over to his capsule, sitting down on the side and sliding into it. He sighed in relief to feel the familiar machinery embrace him. The dream had disturbed him, and he had been a bit overloaded with too many new emotions and physical stimuli within the last few hours and needed something normal.

Closing his eyes, he keyed in his code to activate the capsule by feel alone, gasping softly as the jacks slid into his ports. Letting out a long breath, he relaxed into the system and back into sleep, to a place where he hoped the dreams would not follow him.

  Damion

DAMION AWOKE and looked up to the clock and noticed it was only thirty minutes from the time they were supposed to be at the hangar for briefing. He expected to find Requiem next to him, but Requiem’s side of the bed was cold and empty. He sat up, a bit worried, and frowned when he saw Requiem plugged into the capsule.

Damion watched as Requiem released the jacks with a twitch of his fingers, gasping as they unplugged from his system, his back slightly bowing in response. After a moment he sat up, blinking blearily until he focused on Damion’s disapproving look. He gave him a small, tentative smile that seemed apologetic and embarrassed at the same time.

  “I dreamed,
Requiem said quietly, as if it explained everything.

“Huh?” Damion wasn’t completely awake enough for that sentence to make any lick of sense to him. “You had a nightmare or something?”

“I do not know the difference between nightmares and dreams,” Requiem replied, sitting up and then stepping out of the capsule to move over to the bed. After a moment’s hesitation, he sat down in Damion’s lap, wrapping his arms around him. “I have never dreamed before. It was unsettling.”

“Dreams don’t always make sense. Sometimes they’re just random. Some people believe they’re messages from the gods.” Damion hugged Requiem’s smaller body close, not wanting to leave their room. They had to go to the briefing and face the world as Fighter and Core. He wanted to stay in this room and exist just as Damion and Requiem.

“I do not believe in the gods.” Requiem laid his head on Damion’s shoulder. “We have patrol duty in approximately one hour.”

Damion groaned as he looked back up at the clock. “Yeah, you’re right. I guess we both need to shower and dress.”

Requiem nodded, sliding off Damion’s lap. “There were some unidentified rebel ships in the area approximately two days ago. They have not been seen since, but alert status has been raised.” He tilted his head. “Did you wish to take a shower first, or would you prefer me to?”

“Let’s just take one together, and I promise to behave this time.” Damion stood up and watched Requiem closely to see if his Core seemed hurt at all.

Requiem was limping a little, but not enough that he seemed to notice as he walked to the bathroom. “What do you mean behave?”

“I won’t start anything.” Damion laughed as he followed Requiem. “Like a few hours ago.”

“I understand.” Requiem turned on the shower and cranked up the heat. He always took his showers near boiling. Damion noticed the slight frown on Requiem’s face, and he cataloged it under disappointment. “If we participate in sexual exploits,” Requiem said, “drawing on an average of all our times to come to coitus the night before, then we would definitely be late.”
