About the Author
My interest in Genealogy first reared its head when I was around twelve years old. I started asking the oldest family members questions about the past after seeing some old photos, including my Great-Great Grandfather's Civil War portrait. I was fascinated. Being a history lover, my interest has continued to grow over the years and I've spent the last couple of decades searching for information, documents, headstones, anything I can find to learn more about who my ancestors were and where they came from. There are many great stories in our family trees; ferreting them out is just part of the fun.

I want to thank the people who helped me during the writing of this book. My husband, Greg, who repeatedly made sure I had time to write and offered support in every way. Debby Prow, my best friend from five years old onward, thank you for being my inspiration and support. Colin Lawson, the creator of the marvelous Poison Branches book jacket and the close friend who patiently endured a bombardment of questions from me concerning HTML and many other publishing subjects. Chad Parson, the cousin I didn’t know I had until I traced my family back to the mid-1800s. It has been a true reward to find a relative who shares my enthusiasm for genealogy.
