Stay With Him Page 7

by Seb Taylor

“Can you believe we are finally here?” Mike asked.

He looked across at me, smiling broadly as his hazel eyes met mine. His face was flushed from so much lifting and work, his arms bulging against the sleeves of his t-shirt.

As I looked at him I couldn’t help but feel like the luckiest guy in the world. Not only was Mike incredibly good looking, but he was my best friend. I couldn’t have ever asked for more, finding the absolute perfect partner for me.

I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him, I knew that already. The last month had been absolutely amazing, a journey that neither of us would ever forget. We’d shared so much together and I was already closer to him than I’d been with anyone in my entire life.

“It’s been quite a ride,” I chuckled, walking over to where he stood. “But we are here now.”

He reached out and took my hands in his, squeezing my fingers lightly. His touch made my heart race, a wave of excitement causing my entire body to tingle. It was always the same, that flame burins as bright right then as it had when we’d first kissed.

“Reckon you’ll be able to put up living with me?” He asked, grinning back at me.

I nodded slowly, laughing softly under my breath. We’d already spent so much time together in the past that we knew what we were getting ourselves into.

“I’m pretty sure I’ll cope,” I said. “Any regrets?”

His eyes met mine and he looked serious for a moment, really considering my question. I had none, and I hoped that he felt the same.

“None at all,” he said after a brief pause. “You’re everything to me Liam, everything I could ever want. Right now, this feels perfect.”

Leaning in, I kissed him softly, feeling the tenderness of his embrace as we held each other tight. He was right about it being perfect.

“So, now we are all settled in, what do you say we head to bed?” He asked, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

I couldn’t help but laugh, leaning in to kiss him more passionately this time. As soon as the warmth of his lips met mine I felt myself sinking deeper, knowing all too well where this was leading.

I could never get enough of him, craving the next encounter with my lover. The feeling was too hard to fight, the absolute need for him constantly overwhelming me.

Our friendship was still as strong as it had ever been, only now there was something so much more powerful there. The love we shared was incredible, taking my breath away the more I thought about it.

What we’d both longed for in secret for so long was finally a reality, and now we had it it was everything we could have ever hoped for. In all my wildest dreams I’d never expected anything like this to emerge from our friendship, but now I had I was complete.

That missing piece of me that I’d never really recognized had been standing in front of me all along. Now I had it, I knew just how much I’d always needed that in my life, how much I’d always needed Mike.

Stumbling in his arms, we made our way toward the bedroom, lost in each other, letting our love guide us. It would be the same for the rest of our lives, this thing we shared so powerful that neither of us would ever let it go.

We had everything we could ever want, our future just beginning. This new life we were both embarking on was one that promised a lifetime of happiness, and there by my side was my best friend, my lover.
