Shock Me: An Opposites Attract Standalone Romance in the So Wrong It's Right Series Page 14

“It’s been a while for you?” he asked, his voice thick and full of wonder that made her feel powerful, beautiful, and so very feminine.

“Years,” she admitted. “And only once.”

“Okay,” he whispered. “Okay.” The words were like a prayer on his lips as he wrapped his arms around her, bringing them skin to skin, just like she craved.

Cupping her cheek, he held her while his mouth worked delicious wonders over her jaw, down her neck, finally settling along the skin of her shoulder.

Her head fell back, and her eyes drifted shut as he sent her spiraling on a wave of lust so strong, she had to fight the urge to tear the rest of their clothes away.

“Lay back,” he murmured over her nipple. The contrast of warm breath and cool air, decadent and tempting, teased her. The sensation a powerhouse leaving her in a needy haze.

She wanted to resist, just a for a bit. To keep his mouth there, right there, giving her breast thorough attention, but she followed his lead, her back sinking into the thick mattress too curious to see what came next.

Looming over her, his gaze traveled from her head all the way down to the tip of her toes before making their way back up, stopping at her waist.

With a flick of the snap and a glide of the zipper, her shorts disappeared, and his lips landed right on her hip bone, just above the waistline of her bikinis.

Stars winked through the mesh above her as her back arched. The lights grew filmy, winking out of sight when her eyes drifted shut on a sigh of pure contentment. Cool air rushed over the heart of her, proving brief relief for the ache she hadn’t the first clue as to how to assuage.

“We go slow. I don’t want to hurt you,” he said, the words vibrating along the inside of her trembling thighs as he whisked the last of the cotton from her ankles.

  “I trust you.”

“Good,” he said, nudging her knees. “Now, open for me, baby.”

She did as he asked and memorized the emotions playing over his face as he took her in. His head disappeared, and in the next second, she sucked in a harsh breath at the sinful feel of his tongue intimately kissing the heart of her.

Parting her curls, he lavished the same attention on her that he did when he kissed her mouth, and in no time at all, her muscles tensed and her back bowed. A tickle almost to the point of pain moved through her, making her gasp with every wave.

The urge to see him in action propelled her onto her elbows. Panting out each breath, she watched his head move in small circles over and over before his head almost disappeared entirely only to reappear as his tongue caressed every last bit of her.

“Again,” she said on a gasp.

  Heated eyes met hers. “What?”

“What you just did. Do it again. Please. And I want you to watch me as you do it,” she said in a rough whisper, still figuring out how to get more air moving in and out of her lungs.

“I do believe I’ve created a monster.” The tip of his fingers ran along the heart of her, back and forth, back and forth, creating a whole new set of sensations.

“It feels…I don’t know how to describe it. Electric. But just out of reach.” She bit her lip to keep from crying out after he hit a particularly sensitive spot. Liquid surged from the heart of her, running down her center and disappearing under her.

  “You’ve never felt that before?”

She shook her head, unable to speak as something squeezed inside her.

  “You’ve never had an orgasm?”

She shook her head again, her teeth sinking into her bottom lip, her fingertips digging into the mattress as it intensified with each stroke over that one spot.

“Selfish bastard,” he muttered. “Never again, Mabel Lee. My pleasure doesn’t come before yours ever. After. Only after.”

A thick finger slid inside her.

“Oh, I like that. More of that,” she said, a groan sliding from her throat.

“You just wait,” he said with a smile in his voice. He set a rhythm. With his tongue roving over her and his finger setting a pace inside, she clenched the pillows on either side of her, wondering how much more she could take.

Sweat slickened her skin. Stray strands of hair clung to her forehead. Her thighs quivered out of control.

But when he added another finger and curled them inside her, the pad of his thumb teasing her tight bundle of nerves on the outside, that’s when the dam broke. It shattered, crumbling to dust.

With no mercy, he hummed against her, his tongue moving faster, his fingers more demanding.

Traveling at a hundred miles an hour, she hit a wall but didn’t find pain, just a sting of pure pleasure that had her thrashing to get away from it even as she wanted to clutch at it for more.

“That’s it…let it happen, Mabel Lee. Don’t fight it,” he said, his hot gaze finding her, holding her immobile as her back arched and the air stuttered from her lungs.

His movements gentled and she bit her lip when he slid his fingers out of her, missing the connection, but anxious for a deeper one. For more.

Sliding up next to her, he cradled her head in the nook of his shoulder and ran his hands over her damp skin as he murmured all sorts of sweet things she couldn’t distinguish.

When she finally opened her eyes, after the last ripples faded, she found him staring down at her, a small smile on his damp lips, a look of wonder on his face. His hand glided over her, his thumb catching lightly on her nipple making her gasp and squeeze her thighs together.

“What do I taste like?” she asked in a breathless whisper.

“What?” he asked, narrowing his eyes.

“When you kiss me there? What do I taste like?”

His chest expanded with a big gulp of air.

Gliding her fingertips over him, she grazed his nipple, watching to see if it made him shiver the way it did her.

His eyelids slowly shut and he swayed, the most tantalizing groan on his lips.

It definitely did to him the same things it did to her. How funny, men and women, so different, yet in some ways, so much alike.

“I don’t know quite how to describe it. Tangy and sweet at the same time,” he said bringing the pads of her wandering fingers to his lips.

“I want to taste what you taste when you kiss me like that,” she whispered.

“There’s a few ways I can show you.” His hand slid between her legs again. Seeking fingers danced over the heart of her and the muscle in his jaw clenched. “So wet for me.”

His fingers vanished only to wind up at the seam of her lips. “Taste,” he invited, his voice a deep rumble.

She sucked his finger into her mouth. “Mmm,” she hummed, swirling her tongue around him, the heady flavor of arousal bonded them with every lick while she feasted from his fingers.

  As he supported her self-discovery…

  Learned him…

  Experienced them…

His lips parted, and his sexy deep green eyes widened, his laser focus on her.

Lying back, she let his fingers fall away as she stretched her arms over her head and licked her lips. The well of female power she’d discovered swallowed her whole and she delighted in her ability to entice him.

The sound of his jeans, specifically the snap slapping against the truck bed, echoed into the darkness. The sound of a wrapper tearing came next.

Crawling between her legs, he stopped, cupped her chin, and turned her to face him. “Eyes on me, Mabel Lee. I want to see what this does to you.”

He guided himself against her entrance and slowly pushed inside.

Her body resisted at first, thick and hard, he set of a whole new pulsing beat as he stretched her impossibly far.

She should be scared, but he knew what to do, so she gave him every last bit of trust.

Skilled hands roamed over her skin, his fingertips squeezing her flesh as he traveled over every inch of her leaving a sweet ache behind even as he stoked something hotter, heavier, and deliciously wild in her.

  Hi
s warm wet mouth closed over her nipple making her gasp, the sensation shooting straight to the heart of her. When his fingers found the other sensitive tip and flicked, her moan turned into a gasp that had her spearing her fingers through his hair and holding him to her.

He never let up. He lavished both nipples with relentless vigor until it was the thrust of her hips against his as she thrashed under him that sent him deeper, stretching her, filling her so fully she may never be the same.

“That’s it, Mabel Lee. You can take me. Nice and slow,” he murmured against her damp peak, his hot breath making her shiver.

A low groan tore from her throat when he began to move inside her. So many sensations filled her, leaving her drowning in something terrifying. Surely, she shouldn’t feel this much, this total loss of control over her body.

She reached for him, but stopped, unsure of how to touch him, just knowing she wanted to feel his skin, his muscles, and the course hair sprinkled over him. She wanted to anchor herself to him in the storm that had begun taking over inside her.

And he knew, the understanding in his eyes told her he knew without the words just what she longed for.

He took her hand and laid her palm against the warm skin of his chest. Cupping her hand, holding her to him, he laced his fingers with hers from behind. Rock-hard muscles strained and flexed under her hand. He held himself over her, his hips rocking slowly at first, but eventually taking on a more insistent pace with every whimper falling from her lips.

Curling his hand over the curve of her hip, locked her down on him while the hand holding hers against his chest guided her around his neck where she hung on.

Squeezing his eyes shut, he huffed out a breath next to her cheek. “God, you’re quivering,” he groaned peppering soft kisses along her jaw.

She gasped, squeezing around him, as something hit her in just the right spot. Like when his thumb worked over her, but rougher, more insistent. Needing to feel it again, she thrust her hips against him searching, sending him deeper, so deep her eyes rolled back in her head.

A cry bubbled up in her throat as the sharp pleasure hit again and he swallowed it, his lips plundering her panting mouth.

With each thrust gaining intensity, she had to fight the scream building in her lungs, as she throbbed and burned. “I can’t. It’s too much. Too much,” she gasped against his lips even as she clutched at him to pull him closer, her body taking complete control leaving her hips crashing agasint his as something wanton inside her broke free.

“You’re going to come again. I feel it the way you’re squeezing me.” His hand slid between their joined bodies grazing over that sensitive spot relentlessly, sending shivers rocking through her. “Let go, baby…I’ve got you.”

A rush of heat shot through her leaving her burning from head to toe. The hiss from his lips and his deep growl of approval sounded so far away with the way her blood pulsed hard and heavy through her ears.

He reared up as she bucked under him, his hands gripping her hips, rolling her against him at a slower pace. His neck flexed, the muscles in his cheek jumped, and his shoulders, god his shoulders vibrated as though he struggled to hold back.

He braced his hand on the edge of the truck bed and turned his head, squeezing eyes tight. She felt the hard tremor move through him, and right into her.

She’d spent so much time longing for the things she’d missed, knowing she would never get those moments back, those rites of passage. But in this moment, with this man reacting so viscerally to her, to them, she let it all go. The regrets that once consumed her heart seeped away with the knowledge that had one thing been different, just one, she may have never ended up in this moment, with this man.

“It’s so strong,” she whispered, the sting of tears burning her eyes.

“It’s going to get stronger. You trust me?,” he asked raining kisses over her collar bone.

She jerked her head up and own, her body taking over, demanding more, begging for release.

“Hang on, baby. I’m right there with you,” he said, his words vibrating against the underside of her jaw.

“Is it supposed to be so wet?” she murmured.

He let out a half laugh, half groan. He brushed her hair away from her face and searched her eyes. “When it’s right. Only when it’s right.”

She could feel it coating the inside of her thighs, the way it trickled from deep inside every time sensations overwhelmed her, making her wonder if he could feel it too. “So, you like it then?” she asked trying to glance between the joined bodies.

“I love it,” he said with a rough laugh, his hips settling tight against her. “What’s going on in that head of yours, Mabel Lee?”

“I’m curious—I—I’m ruining the moment for you with all my questions, aren’t I?”

He jerked inside her and her eyes snapped to his. “Does that feel like you’ve ruined anything?” he murmured brushing his lips over hers.

She smiled against his mouth. “No.”

“I love that you’ll ask me anything. Anytime,” he pushed up on his arm and trailed a finger over the valley between her breasts. “You show me how much you trust me when you do.”

Kneeling between her thighs, he pulled almost all the way out of her, splayed his hand over her belly, and thrust back in. His head fell back and his teeth locked together, and she wondered what it felt like for him. If the sensations were the same.

He rocked into her again, this time his eyes on hers, a smile teasing the corner of his mouth while his thumb moved in circles over her sensitive center.

Falling into the same pace as before, the fire between them grew. His arm, rigid with sinewy muscle held him over her, his gaze touching every single inch of exposed skin he could, and his hips thrusting deep between her legs.

His lungs heaved and when he cupped her chin and took her mouth in a penetrating kiss.

She clutched at him, the surge building again as she sucked his tongue into her mouth, the way he’d done to her.

Savage thrusts grew erratic. He flinched, a growl ripping through his throat. Reaching between them, he found that spot again, this time sending her straight into the stratosphere.

She heard her name. Over and over, her name on his lips, but the sound was so far away as ripple after ripple rocked through her, carrying her on a wave of pure bliss.

He collapsed over her, cocooning her, while keeping most of his weight from crushing her.

Gentle kisses drew her out of oblivion and she wrapped herself around him. Tears streaming down her temples running into her hair.

“Shhh…I’ve got you, baby,” he said stroking her hair and raining gentle kisses over the tracks of her tears.

Words failed her. I love you couldn’t capture the magnitude of emotion filling her heart and soul…so she cried. Safe in his arms, she let every last emotion slide out of her on a wave of tears.

“Good morning,” he said quietly as he stroked her bare arm while she started to rouse.

“What time is it?” she murmured with a slow blink.

“It’s early still. Just after seven.”

Campers had begun moving about. As the sun climbed higher in the sky, sounds of birds chirping mixed with tent zippers, camper doors, people crunching over gravel on their way to the bathroom, and early morning hushed chatter.

He’d listened to it all as he’d watched Mabel Lee sleep next to him. He’d marked her without intending to. A red patch along the underside of her jaw from the unrelenting scruff on his face. He’d marked her in other places too, but those would be covered in the light of day.

His secret churned inside him, and he wondered if now was the time. He’d said he loved her. She had not said it back—which was fine—but if he confessed before she did, he’d at least be able to say he hadn’t waited until he’d heard the words.

If there was any significant chance of anyone finding out, he’d do good to take this opportunity.

  “I love you,” s
he murmured, reaching for his cheek, her soft breast exposed as she stretched.

Just like that, the last real chance to be honest disappeared, but what a way for it to go. He speared his fingers through her tangled waves and pulled her close. “You, Mabel Lee, are the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

He kissed her cheek, and her lashes fluttered against his skin as she leaned into him. This was all he ever needed. This right here. Her warm body tucked against his, where each beat of her heart kept him anchored to a happiness he’d never even realized he longed for.

“Are you sore?” he whispered as she worked her way right into his lap and wrapped her arms around his neck. How could she not be. She’d been so fucking tight. He didn’t let it show, but he’d worried. He’d been blessed in that area which most of the time was a plus, but he could never forget that his length, his width—they had the power to hurt if he didn’t keep his wits about him and get her ready for him.

She nodded as he stroked along her spine down to her narrow waist.

“It won’t always be like that,” he murmured, kissing her shoulder.

“Don’t say that,” she said with a light laugh. “It was perfect.”

“I mean you won’t always be so sore.” He’d made love to her three times over the course of the night. He’d been relentless, taking, taking, and taking, until he left her spent, half out of her mind, and incoherent.

He should have gone easier, but the minute he found out she’d never had an orgasm before, not on her own, and not when she’d had sex before, he’d been a whole lot pissed that she’d been shortchanged. He became a man on a mission to make sure she knew just what her body was capable of and how incredible pleasure could be.

No woman had ever cried in his arms. But in true Mabel Lee style, she’d let him see her vulnerable. That gift did something to him that was impossible to describe.

“I like the ache. It reminds me of everything you did for me last night.”

That. That right there. She understood. It wasn’t what he did to her, it was what he did for her, and she recognized it.
