Diamond In The Rough: The Complete Series Page 105

by Hart, Rebel

I grinned. “I love you, too.”

Her head settled against my shoulder. “You know what we should do for the nursery?”

I kissed the top of her head. “What’s that?”

  “Make it gender neutral.”

  “How so?”

“You know, yellows and pale greens and rainbows. Make it so that a boy or a girl could fit well into it.”

“Those kinds of colors would go well with the scheme of the rest of the house.”

“Plus, we could get started on it piece by piece while I’m still able to move. You know, instead of waiting until I’m practically swollen everywhere to do something about it.”

“I mean, you’re not doing any of that hard work anyway.”

She scoffed. “Why can’t I help out with the nursery?”

I grinned down at her. “Because you’re going to be too busy growing our child, Rae. I can take care of that stuff.”

She snuggled against me. “Fine. I’ll just put it on my Pinterest and see what you come up with.”

I smiled. “Sounds perfect to me.”

She reached her foot up and turned off the water as the bubbles reached an all-time high. I mean, we were covered from head to toe, except for our faces. She giggled as they popped against her nose. My heart warmed as she kept snuggling deeper into me, wiggling herself between my legs. I didn't even care that water was sloshing out onto the freshly-tiled floors.

I was just glad to be holding the love of my life against me in a tub in our forever home.

“Our parents are going to freak. You know that, right?” she asked.

I snickered. “Your mother is going to go ballistic.”

She nodded. “And Cecilia’s going to practically have a stroke.”

“You know we won’t have to buy this child a single thing between the two of them, right?”

She looked up at me. “Yeah, and you better not fight it, either.”

  I kissed her forehead. “Noted.”

  “Good.”

“It’s kind of nice, having this little secret to ourselves for a while.”

She pulled my hands over her stomach and I kissed the shell of her ear.

“I mean, minus Mike and Ally.”

She snickered. “Yeah. They don’t count.”

I laughed. “All right. Fine. They don’t count. You want to talk about how and when you want to tell everyone else?”

She shrugged. “Let’s at least keep it to ourselves for the weekend. You know, really keep it ours. We can have them over for dinner sometime this first week once we’re settled and we can tell them then.”

“Sounds like a plan to me.”

“I knew you’d see things my way.”

“Oh, you come here, you cheeky little thing.”

I tilted her head back and captured her lips. I kissed her, over and over, as she slowly turned herself around in the tub. She straddled my hips and my cock throbbed with a need to be inside her. She cupped my cheeks, pressing her luscious lips against my own. And when our tongues connected, nothing else mattered.

Nothing else ever mattered when Rae was around.

My forehead fell against hers. “So I take it you like everything?”

She scoffed. “Like it? I love it, Clint. Every single bit of it.”

I smiled. “Well, that’s good. Because I was thinking.”

  “About…?”

“We can’t technically use the kitchen yet.”

  She blinked. “What?”

  “Nope. Completely unusable.”

She paused. “Why? What didn’t you get done?”

“Oh, no no. Don’t get me wrong. The kitchen is completely finished. It just hasn’t been christened yet.”

She furrowed her brow. “How the hell do you christen a kitchen, you dork?”

My gaze met hers. “Do you really want to know?”

I slid my hands up her thighs, feeling her tremble against me. Her breasts, seated tightly against my chest, puckered as my hands continued their adventure. I gripped her hips, dancing my fingers along the dip of her waist. I watched her cheeks tint that beautiful red color as I cupped the back of her head, fisting her hair to hold her there. I hovered my lips over hers as my dick toyed with her entrance. And as she gasped, I felt her nod.

“I do. I want to know, Clint.”

I grinned wickedly. “How about this? I carry you out of this bathroom and put you on the kitchen counter.”

  “Uh huh?”

“Then, I pull up a chair and spread these delectable legs of yours.”

  She sighed. “Yeah?”

“And then, I put my tongue right--”

  “Shut up and kiss me.”

I smiled as I nuzzled my nose against hers. But when she leaned in for a kiss, I slowly backed up. She let out the most decadent whimper I’d ever heard, and it took all I had within me to not fill her right then and there. I steeled my resolve enough to gather her into my arms and stood up into the tub, balancing myself as I stepped over the edge. I walked us through the bathroom, the bedroom, down the hallway and into the kitchen.

And after setting her on the kitchen counter, I did exactly as I said I would.

I pulled up a chair and sat down between her legs.

  “Clint, I--”

My lips fell to her ankle. “I love you so much.”

She gasped. “I love you, too.”

I kissed up her calf. “Every inch of you.”

  “Oh.”

  “Every cell of your body.”

  She groaned. “Fuck.”

I sucked on the dollop of excess her upper thigh provided as she leaned back.

“I love you with everything I am, Raelynn.”

Her hand fisted my hair. “I love you too, Clinton. So fucking much.”

As my tongue touched down against her slit, I vowed to always show her. To always prove to her. To always remind her of just how much I adored her. She was my savior. My guiding light. My inspiration, and my safe place to fall. I’d never stop loving her. I’d never stop needing her. I’d never stop enjoying her.

  “Clint, yes!”

  I growled. “There it is.”

And I sure as hell would never get tired of hearing her yell my name.
