“Will you let me fulfill my promise to you to love you forever?”

“Yes!” Aria hugged him tightly but pulled back a little. “You should have asked me tomorrow on May first.”

Damian grinned. “It is May first.” He motioned toward the clock. “Will you marry me Aria?”

“Yes!” Aria hugged him tightly again. “I love you!”

  “I’ll love you forever.”

  Acknowledgments

This book is bitter sweet. It was originally published as part of the Runes Universe a couple of years ago. The amazing Ednah Walters had asked a few authors to create and publish stories in her universe and I was one of the lucky people chosen to honor her characters and world. I am a huge fan of her world so I immediately started planning my adventure.

Aria and Damian had been in my head begging for a story for a long time so I finally allowed them to take control for the Runes Universe. Ednah’s characters were immortal and I knew that Aria and Damian needed to be too. It seemed like the perfect combination. I created two novellas for the Runes Universe that had originally ended in a happily ever after, but I always felt that I could do more with the story.

Shortly after releasing the second novella, the Runes Universe was discontinued and all shared worlds were unpublished and removed from sale. It was devastating to the authors of Ednah’s Runes Universe especially after just losing our friend and mentor.

I didn’t do anything with the stories for a long time partly because I didn’t know what to do with them and partly because my emotions were still too raw. And then I had a dream about my characters. (Yes I do actually dream about my stories.) That gave me the motivation I needed. The path was clear; I would edit them, republish and continue on with their adventures. Aria has way more to accomplish.

The editing was a little difficult. Since the Runes Universe was no more, I needed to create a world for my characters and their storyline. Aria is a badass character who had a lot more fight in her so I knew she needed a world full of magic and fighting.

I had just written Forgotten Magic, the first book in a series about mystics and other supernaturals with an evil villain and lots of magic and mayhem. It was the perfect world for Aria and Damian and it was an easy transition for them to make.

While editing and rewriting, I decided to combine the two novellas and also change the plot to expand their story into a series. Aria’s and Damian’s second chance star-crossed love story is something that I absolutely love and am so excited to share with everyone. Look for the next in the series very soon!

There are so many people to thank and to acknowledge. My family and friends are awesome. They not only support me, love me, and keep me sane, They also never let me give up. The Ladies of Magic: Jen Grey, Julie Trettel, Nicole Kelley, Heather Karn and Melanie Gilbert, are the best support team ever. Love you ladies!

A very special thank you to my mom, Arlene Webster. Every night, usually pretty late, I send her the pages I had just written. She always reads them first thing and sends me back typo corrections right away and usually a little commentary on where I left off. I like to send her mini-cliffhangers. The writing process would never be the same without you.

Thank you so much to my Reader Groups helpers, mega-sharers and beta readers/proofreaders, Dawn Yacovetta, and Andie Ryder, Shawn Wood, Tammy Donnelly, and Courtney Roth. Your support and encouragement mean the world to me.

Thank you to the best readers in the world. I couldn’t continue to write books without all of your love and support.
