The Light Brigade Page 32

  Also: god bless copy editors.

My assistant, Denise Beucler, put in a lot of hours on this project as well (in addition to all the many other ways she has assisted me). Many thanks to her for the particularly brutal crunch that got this book to its first sales-ready presentation.

As ever, special thanks to Jayson Utz for enduring my drunken rants, self-immolating deadlines, and particularly grim wit. I’m a pretty funny gal.

There are many cribbed references in this particular work. I’ll let you all enjoy ferreting them out, but know that yes, they are—in nearly every case—willful homages. This ain’t my first rodeo. Don’t @ me.

Finally, all my love to you, the truest fans of Team Hurley, for the support, cheerleading, book buying, reviewing, and general goodness you bring to the world.

Don’t just fight the darkness, friends. Let’s be the light.
